    This game is supposed to be the "The Real Driving Simulator", but it is way far from that. At first, when the game was released, it was so bad at the driving part, the rest was beautifully crafted, as many call it "a love letter to cars". Then the updates came, and driving was a bit better until the 1.13 patch came, which ruined it from any aspect of driving. It is so frustrating to know that they could make this game work well, but they simply didn't. It is no use for a game like this to look so beautiful if driving is so awful. I have never met a game in which a RWD car would act like a FWD (GR3 cars after update 1.13).
    Also, one bad thing is that PD made this game work really good for controller users, but they didn't adapt driving for wheel users.
    I played this game from the release and I regret spending so much money on a game that was released way too soon when it had so many problems and many of them are still present today.
    I really hope they will fix it, but I doubt it. I say this because PD seems to want to sell more than giving a good game, which might be hard to play, but please the real enthusiasts of real driving, not this arcade nonsense. It is far away from how good and stable was GT Sport. It is a shame that this game is so great in all aspects other than driving.    … Expand

    I have been playing the GT series for many years starting all the way back in the PS1 era and progressing as they have been released. I have to say, this one has disappointed me the most.

    Visually, the game is stunning. Cars, scenary and weather effects are incredible. Audio wise the game is also doing a great job. Now comes the negative.     The game simulates driving realistically but doesn't simulate cars very well. A few examples

    F Type Jag, a rear wheel drive car that in Gran Turismo under steers at 30MPH and understeers on full lock with your foot down. I would argue doing this in real life would leave you with a tail happy car spinning in circles :)
    Most of the Mazda models in this game are from a generation with G-Vectoring in real life which have very well balanced steering but again, suffer badly from understeering.
    Ironically, most of the Audi's in this game don't suffer from understeering :)

    Now, I know this might seem rather pedantic to pick up on a car not being 100% realistic but when you factor in how much Polyphony want if you were to purchase these with microtransactions, I would argue the cars should be designed to feel as realistic as possible (or atleast the expensive ones). Most of the cars I drive in this game suffers from under steer (this is with the traction control off and not using brakes around a corner) and all feel very samey to me. For me, I found the cars in this game only really differ on how quickly they go.

    Then there is the move to nerf in-game payouts just after the critical reviews were released, this was a delibirate attempt to boast the quality of the game and then make it nearly unplayable without paying real life money for the vehicles. The story mode is the same as most of the more recent Gran Turismo's, rather fun but not very long or enjoyable. I much preffered the story of GT3 to be honest.

    Since GT7 has now bumped the payouts back up since the onslaught of angry fans I will rate this 5/10. 10/10 for Audio and Visual, 5/10 for gameplay and 1/10 for being anti-consumer with their actions.

    Overall, I feel the game could have had far more single player content and feels like a GFX enchanged version of GT6. The multiplayer is ok but if you are interested in Multiplayer, I would stick with GT Sport (it's pretty much the same).    … Expand

Now, thanks to GT7, I get to perpetuate my mundane existence digitally as well. It's so fun buying an economy class grocery getter, and dreaming of one day bolting on enough stupid parts that I can place 5th to Sophy. Speaking of the AI, why does every race force me to start in 20th place? I can't get a qualifying lap? Sophy, so brilliant Sophie, superhuman Sophy, needs me to start 20th......and then somehow cleanly pass her 19 times in the hopes of earning 50% more credits than already were not enough credits to ever afford a Paganni. Nope, all I can afford is maybe a panini. Just like my real loser life. This isn't Gran Turismo....it's the Grand Tragedy. Oh and should I finally grind away long enough to have 12,000,000 credits, I also have to suffer the indignity of the invite. Money isn't even enough, I have to be deemed worthy of an invitation to purchase some of these things. Talk about art imitating life. Then we have the roulette wheel thing. Just like in GT Sport, this stupid thing will award you stuff you already have. That's not a reward. Winning a duplicate SIMULATED item which you can't even sell for credits is simply another way of insulting you. So I received an invitation to buy the Carrera GT I did. Then, same day, I won the stupid car after completing the final championship race. Here's a tip. Fix it so the game will never reward you a car which you've already acquired. Since we can't sell anything, seems logical not to be forced to stable duplicate copies of fake things. I feel like the people making the decisions about how to handle cars and credits are so far removed from where the minds of players are. None of us want to pay more real money for fake cars. It's dumb. Actually it's simply greedy, since obviously nobody at polyphony is dumb. Out of touch yes. Dumb no. Greedy most likely yes.… Expand

    Worst GT. Should be called GT Sport+. Prices are absurd, grind is ridiculous, weather/radar system is a joke, physics aren’t great, penalties still broken, engine swap system is trash, daily rewards are fixed.. It’s ok in the dry, though..

    It’s got like 30% of the content I’d expect for the price I paid for the game. Everything else I like about the game. Graphics are great the driving feels great. So unless they add a huge single player content update its a very big don’t buy from me. It’ll be the last GT game I’ll ever buy.

    Recent updates (April 22) has helped a lot in fixing a number of things that made the game a chore to play in terms of earning money for cars as a result the game I can confidently say feels special and I would highly recommend it.    … Expand

    A couple of days playing and I was able to finish the cafe menu , which takes out most of the fun. However after the last update you can grind money in a way better rate and buy cool cars. Also endurance races added. Still missing more cafe mission tho.

    bad game, stay as far away as possible from this crap, the aim of the game is to push you to buy credits, game that improves only for the graphics for the rest same crap as always with the addition of the tease of doing everything to force you to buy their credits, total disappointment, if you want a real driving game move to xbox or pc, where you will surely find better than this crap

    What a joke. Disappointing this is the only thriving console multiplayer racing game. Acc is a ghost town. Gt7 graphics are laughable. The scapes movie has to be a joke looks like tech from MK2 with photo backgrounds and your game car floating thru. I play on a ps5 4K screen btw. Single player is a bore but you have to play it to unlock multiplayer car setting like wet tire compound.What a joke. Disappointing this is the only thriving console multiplayer racing game.     Nice looking game. Still prize money for competing is poor. Prizes you win on the lottery are pathetic 49 times out of 50 you win the worst prize. Sport online racing is a joke. A four lap race with medium slick race tyres and literally zero grip after the first lap. After one lap it is like driving on ice. Pathetic. Really don't feel like putting any effort in to keep playing.

    But THE REQUIRED CONNECTION ruin the experience. Many times I've lost my connection and loose reward and kicked off from campaign races. A totally shame

The roulette tickets: I never had any other price then the lowest 6. The payout per races I am thinking about returning it.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Tran Gurismo 7 in Pony Slaystation is not a good game. The good games which i liked was PinalPantasy and Ketten 3. I have to say that Romb Taider 2 was awesome in console. Yet Brash Candicoot was a nice way to spend time mostly in the racing Rrash Ceam Tacing. On the other hand and the other foot, Kortal Mombat has nice Tafaiities. Yet the playgame of Setal Mear Golid did have the msx game. Time now for Esident Revil and Hilent Sill to take place on you my love. Ftreet Sighter of Ren and Kyu and the dahuken.

    The Daily workout of 26.3 miles to get a prize would be great if the prizes were worth it but it seems No matter how many stars you receive you end up with the worst prize. I’ll Bet 9 out of 10 times I end up getting 5000 credits    This game is no where near as fun as the Gran Turismo 6 or Sport.

    The prizes suck and the payouts even though the just adjusted some still suck.

    I really don't get the hate of this game at this point,, it's simply just not justified. If you like racing games, at all, you will LOVE THIS GAME. They nailed the car and sound physics. Do yourself a big favor and play with surround sound on or surround sound headphones. the game is an audio treat, but the music is terrible. Make sure to listen to your spotify instead of the game's music.

Also PS5 like PS4 does not process it 100% correctly and that leaves sliding off the rack and bad brake problems. I have been using PS4, PS5 and Gran Turismo Sport too for 4+ years, thousands of miles and races. Ps4 and PS% have massive graphics memory problems mostly related toMission and other Sim controlled racing is crap as it rams you off the track same as real driver cheats do. I have been using PS4, PS5 and Gran Turismo Sport too for 4+ years, thousands of miles and races. Ps4 and PS% have massive graphics memory problems mostly related to ramming in Live Races. I think PlayStation are crap for eSimracing, however when I can get it work properly it is great. I have to SAFE MODE and fix 3 things after each race, Update Software, then Clear Cache, then Rebuild Database only then can I hope for e proper race without errors by the console. This is the same as PS4 but no overheating and there is no Clear Cache in one. I worked all this out by use everyday for 4+ years and different racing wheels too.… Expand

There is a few enjoyable races now that pay over 80k+ credits which is nice. The cars are still too expensive and MTX is still a little to prevalent but once the grind seems at least okay then I can accept that.

    I can't however give the game anything more than a 6/10 because of two features. Always online and always rolling starts. The always online won't go away because Sony want to force updates on you and keep the push for MTX. I know they won't change this though so no point even complaining, they want it to be a live service. If that is the case then don't charge full price.

    Almost all races are rolling starts, this is to hide the fact the AI just aren't intelligent enough to create an engaging and challenging race from the grid so the game creates a faux challenge with 25-45 second rolling starts. This turns the game from the real racing simulator the the real chasing simulator. Chasing cars isn't racing. If I could have one thing changed it would be to have the game take away rolling starts (except for a few mission challenges) and create a proper racing system. One that makes you do a qualifying time trial to determine your place in the grid then have a race that starts on the grid.

    Maybe, they'll change this. I'm not sure but I can't get on board with the modern AAA method of releasing half a game at full price and then releasing the rest over time in updates.

    I really enjoy this game and see myself playing it for years, I'm even considering getting a driving sim rig to enjoy it more. The cars feel amazing, the graphics are mind-blowing (some scapes look like actual pictures), the community is great with decals, liveries, suits etc. (even though we need an app like GT Sport) and the overall game is fun and pretty addictive. But this is Gran Turismo, this should be perfect but it has some big problems holding it back.    … Expand

    Car selection is shallow
    Track selection is “where are the GT3-GT6 tracks” type of thing.
    Always online - ? Screw that
    Some cars are way too expensive yet you don’t win enough money from races
    THE ONLY REASON I’M BEING GENEROUS WITH THIS OVERRATED GARBAGE IS THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CUSTOM GRIDS IN ARCADE MODE :)    … Expand

    The review bomb was well deserved in the beginning the way that micro transactions were pushed, but now that free credits are paid out more appropriately, polyphony Digital seems to be doing everything right!

    Starting with the good. Graphics are great on track and interior and exterior of vehicles, sound design is good from your car and cars passing by. The racing mechanics are good, responsive and crisp. Handling feels good for the different vehicle types. I like the tuning of the vehicles and the GT auto shop livery editor. The game preforms well overall. The bad things about the game is theStarting with the good. Graphics are great on track and interior and exterior of vehicles, sound design is good from your car and cars passing by. The racing mechanics are good, responsive and crisp. Handling feels good for the different vehicle types. I like the tuning of the vehicles and the GT auto shop livery editor. The game preforms well overall. The bad things about the game is the monetization and always online. I cant support purchasing of in game currency in a $70 game. The currency earn rate should be increased to make the real world money purchases just an option rather than a must to unlock a majority of content. Always online has already shown to be an issue as the game was offline for over 24 hours making it basically unplayable. Wanted to keep this simple.     Oh boy am I happy that I paid 109€ for this scam of game. It is still bugged, not all ps5 to ps4 trophies are working. Much less content than than older ones in the serie. Always online makes my disc version obsolete someday and greedy microtransactions with cut rewards galore. You can shove it.

    Launch was a bit rough but this game is very enjoyable. I really like the automotive history and sheer volume of cars to collect. Polyphony is addressing early concerns and within a month or two i honestly think it will be nearly fixed. People have stupid expectations these days... Geez compared to some of the crap out there this game is amazing.

    Additionally, for more casual players some super licence and missions will be near impossible to pass, leaving large portions of the game locked.
    Predatory and greedy pricing. Unless you’re are die hard fan, I’d strongly recommend avoiding unless Sony/Polyphony change things up.

    Roulette Tickets are a joke, pay out is still low, and now it’s gold or Bronze I can remember every other GT game grading on a scale 8/10 golds and the other 2 being silver would still give you the gold prize. You know I bought my PS5 strictly for this game but now that this game is Trash I’m selling my PS5 and I’m going PC and switching to the plethora of different racing games there.

    There's a lot of time and effort going into a game like this. Fans of the franchise have been waiting a long time and they needed to release something. I'm happy it's not new gen only and I'm enjoying the game so far. There are always bugs at the first stage of a game and everybody who's nagging about it is a spoiled tw@ and should suffocate in his own vomit.

    I uninstalled Gran Turismo 7 and went back to GT Sport. GT7 is a scam. Literally the worst GT yet. Too bad they'll oneday switch the servers off for GT Sport. If GT7 isn't better than Sport by then, I'll be done with the series a whole. Thanks for wasting my money. The Battlefield 2042 of racing games.

    I really don't understand why lobby are so different than GT Sport: no qualifications, no possibility to modify a lobby after it was created, no starting grid set by the host, no possibility to save or reload lobby settings, car lagging always during race and many many other problems that make multiplayer game not usable!!!!!

    The menu system is horrible. If I want to apply a paint, I have to go into the livery editor, it's not enough to buy the paint. It should apply it automatically. Why do you think I buy the paint? To out it on the shelf?

Then when my penalty counter runs out and I'm back from ghost mode, a guy hits me full speed from behind and I get a 5 sec penalty.... I get hit often and I see the culprit not getting a penalty. But hey, let it be. But when I get hit and I get the penalty, that's messed up.
    The lottery tickets. I complete the daily workout, and I get 1 and 3 star tickets. At collector level 44.... This is a joke. Then I "scratch" my ticket and still get the **** "reward" available. 5000-10000 credits in a game where cars cost 3 mill to 20 mill. Why would I bother playing when the rewards and the penalty is this messed up? Get your act together. This is an embarrasment to the previous GT games.    … Expand

Polyphony, oh y’all phony aight. Get rid of the online only thing, and stop using bots to get your user rating up that’s wack.     After update 1.10 just an awesome game. The car physic, the car customisation, the grafik,... everything is superb. I enjoy it alot. I'm already excited for the upcoming content and hope we get all the old GT tracks and more street cars.

    An always online single player mode and aggressive monetisation/micro-transactions have ruined this game. The poor payouts for single player events and the exorbitant cost of cars within the game shows that they nerfed the payouts to herd players towards buying in-game currency with real money.     Also, all single player races are essentially start 40+ seconds behind the leader and try to catch up. No qualifying to determine your starting grid position. This points to severely lacking AI in single player mode where all they could do to make it competitive was to make the player start 40+ seconds behind the AI.

    All in all, an absolute **** for a classic playstation exclusive. I've never left a Metacrictic review before but I just had to find somewhere to shout about how disappointing this whole fiasco is. I've been playing Gran Turismo since the PS1 days. It has had it's little moments of controversy before, but this situation is just indicative of the whole modern gaming landscape. Let's charge people a premium price for a product and then nickel and dime them for every cent they have just to enjoy the game.

    Unfortunately I've already bought the game so they probably couldn't care less about this opinion. All I can do is leave this comment to warn other people, and not play the game until something changes.

    Poor show Sony/Polyphony Digital. The user review backlash is throughly deserved.

    A game I really enjoy even without spending an extra buck after buying it on day one. Yes, there are problematic areas with the micro transactions push and the rewards (too little to progress without paying) but they don't take away from the main mechanics of the game, which is thoughtfully enjoyable, even on PS4.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
