    The story this time around is laughably convoluted and the pacing is just atrocious. There are HOURS of unskippable walking sections and cutscenes that have you stuck listening to some of the sappiest dialogue imaginable. Sounds more like an ethics lecture for elementary school children than centuries old beings discussing the consequences of their actions.

    combat is still much the same as 2018 but feels more restrictive. A few late game abilities will reward you for just spamming the same move over and over.

    The creativity and roots of this franchise are gone and I dread the thought of Santa Monica's next game after all the smoke the critics have blown up their muffs.    … Expand

    Time to beat is 20-25 hours and just under 15.5 hours of that is cutscenes.
    They've Marvel-ified/Reddit-ified the story and characters even more than the previous game.
    The game is 100% a PS4 title in every way and the amount of reused assets is embarrassing.

    Playing in PS5, game is great, but please make an option to remove the companion's hints!!! They ruin the exploration and treat the player like a dumb. I want to play and discover, not a guided experience. If you allow to silence their hints I will review the game accordingly.

    The delivery of Santa Monica studio is just amazing.
    The story telling is really good, realisation perfect... ok some easy puzzles but the game is really really good ! I really enjoyed it on PS5.

It’s unfair and misleading for people who wants a challenge and gameplay mechanics that doesn’t feel as an excuse to stick together different cutscenes.     Same game as 2018 with a couple little things added, your typical repetitive Sony game that follows a safe formula. Your freedom in this game is very limited kinda like Uncharted where you can only climb on yellow painted ledges because Sony thinks we are too dumb to know where to jump.

And the only thing worse than their characters are their designs. Gone are the days where Gods were designed to look powerful and threatening, fitting for the stories told about them and are replaced now with „realistic, down to earth depictions“ yay...

    And that’s all excluded by the extremely rushed writing of the game. A character that tries to kill you for over 3 years starts siding with you within the first few hours of the game. The actual Ragnarok event only last for at most 1 hour and a newly introduced character gets so little screentime before he sacrifices himself even thou there was more than enough time for him to get to safety too.

    God of War is dead and whatever this is isn’t God of War anymore, it’s the MCU‘s version of it with the plan for Santa Monica Studios being to be like Naughty Dog.    … Expand

Y'all HAVE to tell me how is that **** deserving of more than 5/10, when the gameplay should've been way better, we could've had dual wielding, have the capacity to switch characters during battle (like any proper rpg), jump + air combos, future Atreus & another weapon. Why is the plot full of inconcistencies, like why neither Atreus nor Kratos understand that Durlinn is aIt's trash. Why is Odin sooooo dumb? I mean, you don't go to some1 who is searching for a supposed dead man & show/express you're bothered or annoyed by it. It basically confirms the dude is ALIVE!     I went into this game with a super open mind even thought I hated the first and sadly I was beyond disappointed again. I’ll never understand why they have strayed so far away from what the original god of war games were. Maybe I’m just being nostalgic but the games are so different from the originals and the originals are the best by a mile.     In its day it had its deserved goty but It is literally the same game, graphics advance and new story, nothing innovative or groundbreaking, once again it takes TWO shots to get it when other games only need an original SINGLE shot. Not multiplayer, not for all platforms.

    Mismo juego reciclado con gráficas más “bonitas” que lo que ya habíamos visto, si este es el camino que está tomando la industria deberíamos empezar a hacer presión, y lo de las ediciones “físicas” sin disco!!!! Pffff pésimo por parte de Sony!!

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
