    This game is very compitent and has amazing visuals, but ultimately feels like most other 3rd person action-story games. Kill enemies, watch cutsene, kill enemies, rinse and repeat.

    I feel there's so much more to explore witu videogames and yet we're stuck in a cycle of spectatle over originality.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ragnarok was a game i expected a lot from, and it matched, if not exceeded, all my expectations. Enemy variety is insane,bosses are AMAZING. The story and writing overall is impeccable.
    Gameplay is flawless aswell, and the difficulty on hard modes is well done. I was worried about roaming Midgard once again, only to found myself in there a few times only. The side quests are HUGE and EPIC, they feel like they are the main one. Me that was worried about a « GOW 1.5 » i did not felt this way at ALL.

    And please, do not listen to all the Elden Rings stans (insane game) and xbots review bombing. This game is a MUST-PLAY, and my 2022 GOTY imo.

    This God of war is just a Fake Ragnarok, nothing happens from the beginning to the end and we take no pleasure to play, go take Sonic Frontiers instead, there is gameplay at least there.

    Do not let the 507 negative fool you..... all of them are saying the same thing and wrote reviews for all PlayStation games as 0.... so far i have played the full story and it was amazing it had a lot of emotional moments and of course crazy unexpected moments. Also, i am playing the side missions so far it is pretty fun and surprises me.     God of war Ragnarok is a big step up from the game of the year winning god of war. Everything is improved and there are no bugs or performance issues which is very rare for a huge and expansive triple a game.

    It just doesn’t deliver. All the samey samey things are going on. No improvements at all. I’m deeply disappointed for a 4 years development situation. The game feels like they want me to feel like I am a three year old person. But I am not. I am **** 43 years old and playing a god of war game. A bit frustrated where this is going to. How does this game got so many good reviews?

    Thrilling combat, stunning visuals and amazing boss battles.
    But most importantly, a masterclass in storytelling in a video game: capable of making you laugh and cry.
    There are some problems with the pacing in the first half, but the final act more than makes up for it with intense action and touching moments.
    Possibly the best game I played in the last five years.

Ragnarok is the true definition of a perfect sequel, in every sense you get captivated in the first 20 minutes and if never lets down, even after the monster of the main story SMS was able to build all 7 realms so intricately that it leaves players speechless, now getting past how amazing this game is there was only 2 complaints/questions I had, the World Serpent felt very underused and felt like a missed opportunity, likewise i was surprised that odin, a master manipulator never used kratos past as a weapon, did atreus ever find out the true severity of kratos’s actions? other than that the plot was amazing the combat was incredible and even small dialogues between the characters felt amazing, everything in this game feels truly rewarding even finding the real tyr after the main plot was so shocking. SMS has outdone themselves once again… Expand

    I just finished the game and I got to say I’m very impressed. All the issues with Gow 2018 were improved upon, and the game feels great. It’s very rare that a sequel is just as or better than the first game, but this is one of those cases. MY GOTY!

    God of War Ragnarok é perfeito, a trilha sonora é marcante ,os gráficos são excelentes, os reinos são um mais bonito que o outro, a variedade de Gameplay, exploração e história não deixam você ficar entediado, uma obra prima .

    The game was polished from the beginning to the end, I had no glitches or bugs, story was great has me crying, laughing, and screaming of excitement.     I am a big fan of the God of War series and my expectations with this one was great. However it does seem like a huge DLC of the previous game and nothing much new out there. The gameplay is okay but combat is sluggish and not very satisfying nor compelling. Puzzles are often annoying and tedious. I almost feel like this game is a chore that I just need to finish and rush through. I don’tI am a big fan of the God of War series and my expectations with this one was great. However it does seem like a huge DLC of the previous game and nothing much new out there. The gameplay is okay but combat is sluggish and not very satisfying nor compelling.     Sensational. Is the story as good as Gow4? Not for me but the story has alot of interesting set up that pushes some interesting plot choices for the next game(s). There is a phenomenal plot twist near the end of the story and even as nonchalant a person I am even I couldn’t do anything but let my mouth hang wide because there was no way I could’ve really predicted it. Would definitelySensational. Is the story as good as Gow4? Not for me but the story has alot of interesting set up that pushes some interesting plot choices for the next game(s).     Amazing game with unfinished combat and too much bloat. It would’ve been better had there been more done to make it feel better than GoW (2018). And the amount of bloated content is insane. If you’re coming fresh from the last game you’re gonna be sick of the same combat and enemies quickly

    El peor God of War de la historia, mucho brilli brilli, puzzles soporíferos, falta de sensación de brutalidad, jugabilidad pésima, un inventario infumable, historia pésima, básicamente como cargarse al personaje varonil de Kratos y convertirlo en un frágil.

    Very decent game, good story, good gameplay, but essentially it felt more like a refined standalone expansion of GoW 2018 than a game per se, the one thing that really bugged me is the inability to turn off tips that characters continue to bark at you throughout the entire game, it got really annoying after a while

    Jörmungandr participated more in 2018 than this one. Surtr and Fenrir very poorly used. We can barely see the armies fighting.     It felt more like any level of the game.
    For me until the time when Kratos plays the horn and the post-game are 10/10, but for the Ragnarok part itself I give it 5/10.

    It's a shame that one of the most epic mythological events happened this way, and we can't even blame the crossgen, because GOW3 and even GOW4 were more epic. Sad.    … Expand

    What a disappointment. This can't be the industries "best" aaa game right now.

    The gameplay did not evolve and it is still super restrictive. You have to do everything exactly the way the game wants your to or else you don't move forward. Example you have a special skill that lets you shoot a fireball, you have a puzzle that requires you to light up a candle from a distance. My first    What a disappointment. My first thought was ok i have this new fire ball skill maybe i can just shoot the fire ball to light it up, nope doesnt even effect the candle even with a direct hit, instead you need to use the magic arrows to light a path around wall and you have to perform a specific chain bomb skill to complete the puzzle. This type of gameplay is so outdated and frustrating.

    The story is unsatisfying. The start of it is great but it gets worse the more you play, with all the forced female empowerment moments, all the cringy new characters that you don't care about getting so much screen time and development. Kratos gets completely neutered in this story, its not enough that he doesn't want to fight anymore but now he takes order from the worst character in this series (Freya) with her stupid motivations. Odin and Thor were great but we didn't get enough from them, Odin's motivations were fantastic and i actually was rooting for him to succeed because i wanted to know the answers to his questions but no we get a ton a build up and they seemingly drop the most interesting part of the story. Kratos and Atreus carry the game with their performances but that can only get you so far, by the end i didn't care anymore because everything else was just so frustrating.

    Dear Sony, lets retire the Uncharted/Naughty Dog formula. Its been 10 years of these walky talky movie games, where you NPC's never ever shut the hell up!! Move on!! find a new formula for the next generation. Im so done with this ****    … Expand

    Wonderful game to finish out the Norse story arc. Loved every second of this story, bittersweet that it has come to an end. Excited for the next chapter.

    No one in their right mind would rate this game a 0 out of 10. It's unfortunate that trolls who can't play the game have to ruin the score.

Artreus obviously grew up from the first game. Even though he is still annoying, it is fun to be able to play him separately in this game. This is not only a hack and slash game. And nor should it be a factor in evaluating anything. In my opinion, in terms of a sequel that surpasses it's prequel. This game has just done that. Just another terrible overrated third person walking simulator with reused assets and boring gameplay. In its core just a 80$ DLC for the already bad 2018 version. Stay away from it if you actually like video games and not movies.

    The gameplay is a massive improvement over the previous one and adds a lot of quality of life stuff: - Timed puzzles are drastically reduced - Fights "feel" smoother, I didn't have nearly as many problems with enemies off screen - Boss battles are tough, brutal, but doable - The ultimate    Sublime. That's the word I'd use to describe this game. Other words: powerful, emotional, fun.

    - Fights "feel" smoother, I didn't have nearly as many problems with enemies off screen

    As for the story, wooo-heee can I not talk specifics. I'll just say that few games have writing this good, this impactful. The creators really did their homework on Norse mythology and it shows that they wanted to make a game that FEELS worthy of being set in that mythos.

    THIS is a masterpiece! It tops part 1 with some easy steps, the gameplay is a bit better, smoother, faster....the soundtrack....oh man this is awesome! Mimir is such fun, the talks between the crew are so good written, made me laugh once in a while. More boss fights than in part 1 and I think I did not even scratch the main story. Little easter eggs are cool. The world looks stunning! JustTHIS is a masterpiece! It tops part 1 with some easy steps, the gameplay is a bit better, smoother, faster....the soundtrack....oh man this is awesome!     Improves on the 2018 game in every way. The combat add so many levels of nuance and more versatility not only to Kratos but his companions. The score, atmosphere, story telling, and voice acting are all top notch. Absolutely phenomenal.

    There are so many cutscenes and you can not skip them. The beginning of the game I felt very bored and numerous fillers. Graphics looked just the same as the 2018 game. Lot of the areas were just reskinned. However towards the end of the game it really picked up and finished off with one of the best endings I have seen in a long time.

    This game is a must play, The way the story is told and the character development that exists is insane, from all characters, it is a game that makes you feel all type of emotions and is very enjoyable to complete.
    Personally, it's GOTY.

    Balancing a heartfelt story with over-the-top excessive video game action, Ragnarök is completely self-aware. It improves upon the previous title in all the ways we could have hoped for and delivers a huge experience with stunning visuals, beautiful storytelling and buckets of fun. This is a must have for any God of War fan and an easy recommendation for anyone new to the series.

    Awesome game, but have lot of minor bad/meh things. For example: tooooooo muuuuch Atreus. Some quest is going boring, becouse: one more “puzzle” door, one more “puzzle” door, one more “puzzle” door. Story is good, but have minor meh moment and endig is… So is just ending. 8,5/10

    Un jeu totalement émouvant, qui me marqueras à tout jamais. Ce n’est pas simplement un “God Of War 1.5” comme on aurait pu le craindre avant sa sortie. Jeu poignant qui mérite largement ce GOTY cette année. Une pure merveille.

For the 4holes saying this is a DLC trying to boycott the game, It took me around 50 hours and still I have 61% trophies so there’s a lot to do after the end credits.

    9 just for only one thing...battles are so crowded and it takes off the ablity of comboing and beauty of fight.(in gmgow mode u must always block and dodge and no time for deal great dmg.)

    ADVERTENCIA DE SPOILERS ANTES DE LEER Un buen juego de inicio a fin mucha gente critica mas que es un DLC y cosas asi pero realmente es un juego muy largo tarde 34 horas en terminarlo en modo dame sin misericordia y solo historia y uno que otra mision secundaria un buen desarrollo de personaje por parte de kratos de solo ser un espartano con irá y sed de venganza a ser un personaje intentando enseñar a su hijo siendo un maestro y en este ragnarok ser mas un padre y demostrando preocupación, sentimientos de querer llorar, felicidad, enojo, miedo etc demostrando mas a un kratos mas abiertamente, su historia es igual que en otras entregas la continuación donde se quedo el anterior juego muy buen desenlace y final me hubiera gustado que hubieran mostrado mas ejercito en temas del final cuando van a asgard ya que se ven solo los personajes que mas son vistos como principales y no personajes secundarios o solo para rellenar la pantalla los discursos del final se sintio para muy poca gente me parecio un gran juego su dificultad esta bien batalle un poco en jugarlo por la dificultad entretenidisimo si eres ya veterano en gow iniciar con esa difícultad ya que necesitaras de acostumbrarte a las nuevas mecanicas y habilidades ahora me lo acabare al 100% Gracias por leer    … Expand

    It's an Atreus game A bit soft with pixie dust and fairy's And that's stuff is a bit boring Where's the badass Kratos we knew and loved, I got hyped when they mentioned kratos past' yeah because that's what we liked. Well that's what I loved and this is my opinion.

    Probably the best game I have ever played so far. Great story telling. Gameplay and combat are both engaging and rewarding. I can’t get enough of this masterpiece. Bad ratings on this game are hilarious and ridiculous. It certainly seems these trolls don’t have a life. Will it be our game of the year? Possibilities are high!!

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
