    I played almost half the game and the storyline is brutal in beautiful ways and magnificent dialogues, the gameplay is awesome if want more challenging walk-through select action focus and don't use the helpful gameplay accessories.
    its for me one of the greatest games every Thanks square enix and all staff who work hard to made this masterpiece.

    A solid FF game. Combat is great and storytelling is superb with lots of cutseens to watch. Despite being used multiple times in multiple iterations there is still the same recognizable FF world building in a new and fresh way. It does well to cater to those that have played for years and those that are new to the franchise which can be hard on its own with how long this series has goneA solid FF game.     Nach dem sonderbaren FFXV endlich wieder ein Meisterwerk, mehr muss man dazu nicht sagen, Square hat sich was getraut und das wird belohnt. Auf noch viele schöne Stunden in FFXVI

    Final Disappointment 16. My expectation for Final Fantasy is already low after 13 and 15 but this is just a new level of let down. They abandons their identity and try whatever popular at the moment, so I'm not surprise if Final Fantasy 17 is just battle royal mix with Call of Duty gameplay

    Played all main FFs on release and I don't understand Japanese, and I love the new directions and testing of boundaries to attract new gen gamers into the FF world

    This is a great game, it looks gorgeous, the combat is fast and furious and has sufficient depth to keep interesting even 50 hours into the game. Even the side missions are fun and engaging.

    Really well done game, and it's optimised really well. These review bombs are totally rubbish. Good story, good combat, great graphics.. way better than anything else on ps5 by far.

    Ignore the negative reviews. This is the best game I've played so far this year outside of the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker patches. Yoshi P and the FFXVI team hit this out of the park. Gorgeous graphics. Breathtaking views. Emotional, heart pounding story. I've had to stop more than once and reflect because I've gotten emotionally overwhelmed. Buy it. Experience Valisthea.     The story is poorly paced. I personally don't connect with any of the poorly written characters and how sexist and racist the story is. The lack of RPG elements in my RPG series left a bad taste in my mouth. The story is infinitely more confusing than any FF before it. Its so incomplete and incomprehensible.     Bring back Tabata. FFXV was a game actually trying something and was a good blueprint for the series. XVI feels like a half-hearted attempt at trying to copy other games and TV shows.

    This is not a game proud to be FF. Its a game actively running away from FF and almost feels ashamed to be FF. Never let Yoshi-P or CBU3 make another single-player game.    … Expand

    I haven't beaten the game yet. So far, the story has been so twisting. With the BGM going, I cried so many times. I will rate story as 10/10. Soken sann and the rest of the music team have done a fantastic job creating so many great BGMs. Either it's the soothing BGM echoing in the hideout hall, or it's the thrilling boss fight music, every piece has been produced with the highestI haven't beaten the game yet. Soken sann and the rest of the music team have done a fantastic job creating so many great BGMs. Either it's the soothing BGM echoing in the hideout hall, or it's the thrilling boss fight music, every piece has been produced with the highest standard. Battle system is another highlight of the game. It's fast, and various. Swapping among Ekion's abilities is at ease. Various bosses use so many different mechanics trying to take down Clive. It's also so cute to use Torgal (Clive's pet) as Clive's co-healer. The cinematic performance is also great. Wirth the power of PS5, characters could show their subtle expressions, and voice actor/actress also have done an amazing job depicting the emotions of various characters. There are quite many side quests which FF14 players are not unfamiliar with. The compendium shows ins and outs of the world of the game. Overall speaking, FF16 is an action RPG which boasts a great story, great music, fantastic battle system, and great acting performance. I'm a huge FF fan, and I understand that every FF mainline game is unique, luckily, besides the traditional RPG, I'm also an action game fan (especially DMC series). I highly recommend every FF fan to try FF16. There is no game which is completely perfect, but those things (mentioned above) 16 delivers are all top-notch.… Expand

    I LOVE FINAL FANTASY. I've played every single one. FF11 and FF14 for years. Origins, Tactics, 10-2, 13- whatever, the mobile ones. I've played them all. 6 and 8 being my favorites. (i know 8 right? the ending made me tear up what can I say?)

    Is this a Final Fantasy Game? Yeah, at least the name says so. Should it be a Final Fantasy 16? I don't think so. When I play a numbered Final Fantasy, I want a party of 4 or more. I want to customize my characters with different jobs or skills or Materia and equipment. I want variety and choice and FF16 does not give me that. the story is great so far I'm at the second Mother Crystal. The Eikon battles and some Boss battles seem more like I'm watching Dancing With the Stars. It's entertaining and disappointing at the same time. I'm already kind of bored with how repetitive it is and I'm guessing I'm halfway through. Only finishing it because I spent 70$ on it. I have no desire to New Game+ it or finish all the Achievements.
    Story 9/10: Graphics 9/10: Gameplay 6/10: Sound 9/10 Replay-ability 2/10.

    I started my final fantasy journey in ff7 remake so i may not be as incline if a final fantasy nerd as someone who has played them all or more than me but what i can say is im in LOVE with this game! The story, the combat, the care that was put in to every inch of this game by the developers show’s immensely! I have never played a game with boss battles of this scale!     What an improvement over FF15, the story is epic and battle is innovative, cut scenes are one of the best I have seen, one thing I don’t really like is the game is too linear, would be good if other characters are playable as well.

    Initially I thought it would be a dry story because I don't like medieval setting games, but it deserves a 7 for a medieval anti-imperialist plot, it's pretty cool for the modern action RPG style combat system, maybe lacks in summons but that's just me. Additionally, the final boss is freaking annoying and I take away 2 points for that. (Previously a 9)

    Final Fantasy has always been a JRPG, thru the years it has had a form of turn-based or ATB as FFVIIR but Yoshida made a bad decision and decided to abandon its JRPG roots effectively making the game unplayable by turning the franchise into a action hack and slash DMC/Gow and forcing rpg fans to abandon the game and not buy it cause we cant tolerate nor get pass the action combat.     Man! for waiting about 2 years, everyday i think about this game, i go youtube watch the trailer many time,every trailer got me excited, after release i even take my annual leave to stay at home enjoy this amazing game!, i will replay again, i really enjoy the story and the gameplay!

    One of the best spectacle based games ever made, and a truly worthy successor to asura wrath. Don't come into this game expecting RPG mechanics worth a damn, and you will have a damn good time. Only downside I can think of is the game got filler in the main quest, so be mindful of that.

    Do you like tutorial messages? Cause if you don't, you're gonna have a bad time.
    I'm about 3hrs into the game and I'm still getting messages telling me how to do things or what something does. These aren't your optional kind of popups, they pause the game and take over your screen automatically every time. Fighting a boss with a new mechanic, well let's just explain how to do that    Do you like tutorial messages? Cause if you don't, you're gonna have a bad time.
    I'm about 3hrs into the game and I'm still getting messages telling me how to do things or what something does. Fighting a boss with a new mechanic, well let's just explain how to do that mechanic even though you've done a similar one before...but this ones a different button.

    The button mashing isn't all that bad in my opinion, but the abilities leave a lot to be desired. From what I've seen they have 1-2 tiers aside from not learned. I can't imagine there's more since they always say "MASTERED" at what I assume to be the final level of the ability. It does have a variety of things to learn as you go through the game though, gaining more to learn as you get through the story.

    I enjoy story based games with a lot of cinematic stuff for me to watch, but many people don't want this and I can see why others are upset about it. I do enjoy the cinematics but even I have to say they probably should have eased up on them and given more gameplay.

    I saw someone else compare the levels to FF XIII's hallway levels, and I don't disagree. Though these feel worse. At least in XIII there were small pathways that made it more maze-like. This just has big obstacles that you go around.

    The FPS is terrible. I have the game set to prioritize framerate and it still feels like it's running around 30-40FPS most of the time. I have the game running from the internal SSD in the Ps5, there is no reason this game should not be running at the very least 60FPS almost constantly. Instead, I have the complete opposite.

    I like the story a lot when it's not being interrupted by tutorials, but it doesn't entirely feel like an FF series game. At the same time that's not a bad thing, it's much more adult themed and less kid friendly.

    If this game was released as another title without all of the FF theme's we're used to it would have been a flop. The only reason I want to even finish it is my love for the series and the hope I'm clinging to that it will improve and the tutorials will eventually stop.    … Expand

    Great game if your looking for good story with highs and lows and epic set pieces spattered for good measure. Side quests are split 50/50 between generic fetch quests and the like and actual interesting mini stories of survival in a pretty brutal world. Side quests are split 50/50 between generic fetch quests and the like and actual interesting mini stories of survival in a pretty brutal world. And tho it lacks some things that I would love that are in other final fantasy games I won't knock it for reaching in a new direction and achieving what is for me one if the best looking and well polished action rpgs around. Though slightly lacking in some rpg elements. The fighting, though easy enough is a lot of fun and the challenge really come from making the fights look great with ever evolving combos and moves and skill. The fighting never really got boring for me and that is testament to a well thought out structure. Add replayability to this formula and that is why I give the game a score of 10 because whereas it's not quite perfect, for me it's closer to 10 than it is 9.… Expand

    Absolutely perfect game, Yoshi-p has done it again! This man is single handedly fixing the reputation of square Enix.

    This game has amazing cinematics beautiful graphics one of the best stories I have ever seen in a video game definitely the best Final Fantasy story. Also the gameplay is so smooth and satisfying and we all know gameplay is King I hate to see all the Xbox fans that are upset it did not come to their platform review bombing this game it deserves so much more.

It's just abilities which you can only have 2 per element slotted. It's boring after a while especially with how spongey some enemies are. The story is the only thing keeping engaged.     I am currently 55% into the story and the only parts I have enjoyed so far were the first two hours available in the demo. Everything after that has suffered from terrible pacing and it seems as if the story is just loosely put together in order to justify the Eikon battles. While the combat is fun, it isn't nearly enough to get me through the absolute slog ahead.

    I have just finished it. A master piece, the best Final Fantasy ever by far and one of the best games I've played ever. An incredible story, very polished graphics, amazing battles, all merged with the lore of the other FF's... Next FF is going to struggle to surpass this...

    The poor design choice on game engine and using old tech is holding it back graphically. Strays too far from the Final Fantasy name that it has blurred it's self between Hack n' Slash and adventure.

    Absolutely amazing. Wonderful return to the soul of the series. Stutters visually every now and then but looks and plays wonderful without a patch. Glad I chose PS5 for their commitment to story driven games, sorry XBOX.

    Game is most excellent, from combat to story to character growth It is well executed. The only thing that drags it down a bit for me is the Motion blur. Also the lack of very meaningful and interesting loot from exploration. Otherwise great game!

    Amazing story and fun combat. The demo had me at the edge of my seat towards the end and I could not wait to pick up. Combat seemed limited in the demo but I’m glad there are more variations and combos you can perform in the real game. Targeting system could be better though.

The craters were not afraid to get dark and ugly with the story, they really went all out! I do have two small complaints though. The system with switching the dogs and potions needs better indicators as to which you're on. I have wasted many potions thinking I was giving a command to torgal the dog. The other is that you can't play as or level up other characters that join your party. Using different characters fighting styles is one of the best parts about RPGs like final fantasy! But nothing is ever perfect, and this is an amazing game that deserves to be experienced!… Expand

    FF16 completely reinvented the series for what it is and im all here for it. putting the DMC director on was a great decision and im very pleased with what was brought to the table. Couple that with an interesting story and incredible art direction, graphics, and characters and you find yourself with a gripping 20-hour experience

    I think this game tried to incorporate the best parts of other games and movies and it didn't all work.
    There are some interesting parts. But it is by no means a masterpiece.
    You can't count on 0 or 10 points for reviews. If you have played the game to the end, you will know that a score of 4 to 6 is about right.

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.
