    Generaly good overall compared to recent ff releases. Story pacing has highs and lows but sometimes the lows last a bit too long but the highs make up for them.
    Combat is really good, I now prefer the full action combat over the amalgamation of turn based and action they have tried in the past.

    This is one of the most, if not THE most, incredible Final Fantasy I've ever played. Wonderful graphics/cinematics, beautiful story and an incredible combact system. That's it.

    If you look at the reviews most if not all of the ones giving "0" ratings have also given "10" ratings to "Hi-Fi Rush" "Redfall (OMEGALUL)" and oh yeah that's it because Xbox don't have any good exclusives LOL.    This is one of the most, if not THE most, incredible Final Fantasy I've ever played. Wonderful graphics/cinematics, beautiful story and an incredible combact system. That's it.

    These console wars are getting SO annoying, even on this web site. My main platform is PC, there is no such thing as console wars to me. I'm a gamer, I just enjoy games and that's how it should be regardless of the platform. If a game is good I'm playing it regardless of the platform, right? So please, don't be ridiculous and review THE GAME, Final anche XVI, not the console that you "hate". Any review with a 0 score is almost always a FAKE review, doesn't matter which platform or game.     Good gaming but not a Final Fantasy, a Clone of Devil May Cray, no Party members, only some companions (One at time) not upgradables and not changing weapons/armours, too Easy, only After ending game there Is a game+ with difficult selecting, RPG section are very low, Battle sustem are pure action, no magic ( Fira Blizzard ultima), no status altered, no fire/water/ICE/earth weakness.     I really love this game! I was skeptical at first because some of the negative reviews but wow this is my game of the year. The story is captivating, the music is phenomenal, the characters are amazing, the Eikon fights are jaw dropping and the gameplay is so fun. The only gripe I may have is some of the quests are kinda weird and motion blur is a bit annoying, but other than that theI really love this game! I was skeptical at first because some of the negative reviews but wow this is my game of the year. The story is captivating, the music is phenomenal, the characters are amazing, the Eikon fights are jaw dropping and the gameplay is so fun.     Great game with incredible production values and an even better soundtrack. Never thought another game could give Tears of the Kingdom a run for its money for goty, but here we are.

    A masterpiece , a game full next step for games rpg . It is awesome that shows that the same people who said of other action rpg from another japonese company is not said here ! Innovaton there is a 100 ! Here is a mistake , for the other poor graphics it is ok , here why so much ? Wheres the roots ? To resume , ff16 is AWESOME and no less than a 100 !     I played all FF and over 400d playtime in ff14. This ff16 is an overall dissapointment to me. FF single player saga died after ff10. In 16 theres way to many cutscenes

    Excellent game. I never finish single-player games, but this one made me keep wanting to play and find out what happens next. Awesome story, combat, mechanics, music, and everything else.

    The only issue I currently have with the game is the frame rate in certain areas, which hopefully they will patch eventually.

    A great Final Fantasy. Quite a masterpiece as the creator said. It's fun and addictive for more and more. The combat system, the graphics, the variety of opponents and weapons, and the story that pulls you in and doesn't let go. 10/10 and no less! ***And one thing about you, who make the game so bad here, be ashamed because you are not gamers but pitifully poor!

    One of the most magical games I’ve ever played, and the fact that it’s polarizing makes no sense to me. The combat feels incredible and is some of the best I’ve ever experienced, with some of the boss fight genuinely making my jaw drop. Clive is one of the most likable protagonists I’ve seen in a while, with the story he’s a part of being extremely well-written and interesting.     FF16 is hopefully a new chapter and a new standard moving forward for FF main series games in general. outside of the MMO's, this is the first solid installment we've seen in nearly 20 years. the soundtrack is fantastic, the combat is FINALLY customizable and has more depth than a puddle, unlike 15. The characters and story are both great, there's a bit of skipping around in the timeline which i've never been a fan of when FF does it, but it pays off later on.

    Honestly this game's review score should be nowhere close to XV or FF7 remake, it's on a whole other level. If you have a PS5, check it out for sure.    … Expand

    I’ve been playing Final Fantasy since 6 and this is by far one of my favorite entries in the series. The game earns its mature rating not just from the violence and language, but from the grown up storyline featuring complex relationships and power dynamics rarely seen in a JRPG. I do think there’s room for improvement but overall this is a huge step forward for a series that’s lost itsI’ve been playing Final Fantasy since 6 and this is by far one of my favorite entries in the series.     Combat is very basic, simply press square to win. The characters are boring, and it tries and fails to draw inspiration from Game of Thrones. This game is only an RPG in name. If you want to watch a movie while simulating playing a game, then this is for you. It also includes quick time events.

    Game runs perfectly on my PS5, the gameplay is a lot of fun, and the story of the game is phenomenal. The team behind the game certainly have put a lot of love into this game and it shows, I know already that this is my game of the year.

    20 hours into the game and I can say I’m consistently blown away by how much I’m enjoying it. The combat is cheff’s kiss. The story is full of unexpected thrills, twists and turns. The characters are interesting, awesome and some very funny. Very impressed by the voice acting in this title. It’s definitely one of the best games of the year or of all time for me.

    Yoshi-P and the crew did it! Delivered a solid Final Fantasy game. Different, yet familiar. It is all in there and i wish the series keep innovating with new production teams experimenting new takes on the fable of the crystal. The setting and OST are only the tip of the iceberg. A must play!

They tried to sell it to us as the greatest MMO of all time, above all the competition when in reality it literally just used WoW as a model and just did everything half assed and had one of the most basic overworlds that doesn't even inspire you to want to go explore in MMO history. And also some of the poorest class diversity and combat, with the latest expansion being a glorified cutscene simulator with terrible tailing quest. We're seeing the same handholding with this game. Why do we baby Japanese developers especially square? Why do we give them a pass for outdated mechanics, weak dialogue while we pick apart EVERYTHING in western games, even when said western games are pushing their respective genres forward. Western reviewers need to stop coddling Japanese devs and be straight with them. I know the gaming industry has an infatuation with Japan. But that does not mean everything they put out must be worshipped like it's the second coming. They won't improve if you keep praising even the crappy aspects of their games.

    Another thing Square in particular needs to get better at, and this was a problem with XIV as well. Stop utilizing other peoples cultures from India to the Middle East whilst not actually portraying those people. Everyone always jumps down western developers throat over representation or appropriation, yet here Square is constantly utilizing non-western nation's cultures whilst portraying the people of said cultures all eurocentric. This same thing happened in the Endwalker expansion in XIV where they took influence from India in one of their zones, but they had everyone looking like they walked out of Sweden. Give Japanese developers the same energy you give western devs when they do this.    … Expand

I have been playing the game for almost 25 hours now and I am extremely disappointed with the game. I never thought a main final fantasy entry could be this bad. I respect people who enjoy the game, but I look at the amazing triple A games we saw this year and theI honestly feel deluded and slightly betrayed because I pre-ordered this game based on the hype trailers square enix released. I have been playing the game for almost 25 hours now and I am extremely disappointed with the game. I never thought a main final fantasy entry could be this bad. I respect people who enjoy the game, but I look at the amazing triple A games we saw this year and the last couple of years and I can't help but feel that this game doesn't stand slightest bit of chance against these other games (God of war, FF7 remake for example). Everything in the game screams half baked. Combat is repetitive, non challenging, non tactical. I wish the combat could be compared to devil may cry or Bayonetta. I would've enjoyed it if it did. At the very least DMC had combo structures and tactics behind it. This game simply doesn’t, you rely on a standard combo that you can mix with magic bursts. You basically only unlock two additional basic moves: stinger, and a helm breaker. Combat goes like this: combo and mix magic bursts and evade when needed. Release all your eikonic abilities, wait for them to cool down and keep doing the same combo with magic bursts and evade when needed. All the flashy stuff you saw in trailers are eikonic abilities that need cool down to be used again. Magic has no effect on enemies. Facing a fire lava beast? Blast him with fire and it will take damage with no problems. No poison or sleep or silence effects. Need to buff your attacks? Use an item. Want to heal? Use a potion. Can you ask the dog to heal you? Yes, but it does almost no effect.

    Graphics is just another giant mess. They opted for a non open world game and we ended up with poorly lit, barren areas with players having to literally crank the brightness slider to the highest possible to be able to play the game. At the very least FF15 felt fun to roam the world. That game had day and night cycles, interesting missions and hunts, party member to keep you company and make the game fun and enjoyable to play despite it having a dark sad story, when you rested at night and cooked a meal you felt you were relaxing like the characters. That game was made with love.

    Games like god of war and ff7 remake were both linear games and had beautiful environment designs and ran near perfectly smooth with no issues. I don't know what to say about the story except that I felt I have been experiencing a cliche play displayed at an underground theater for amateurs. I hate to be so harsh, but there's nothing remotely exciting for me in this game at this point and I feel sad about wasting 70 USD. I have to be so critical because I am a big fan of the final fantasy franchise. I always expect immense creativity from square enix especially when it comes to final fantasy games but this game is just a sad half baked product that feels extremely disappointing.    … Expand

    A visual feast for the eyes, the fighting system in this game is top notch and the fluid motion in button combos is fantastic and feels like a truly satisfying achievement when you hit a strong combo.     - El diseño de los NPC que parecen de MMO con animaciones básicas y que ayudan a perder la inmersión.
    - Zonas abiertas o de transición hermosos, pero muy vacíos. Parecen sacados del XIV pero sin alma y nada relevante que visitar.

The motion blur effects and shaky cam are some of the worst, most nauseating I have ever experienced, and aren't even limited to combat/running...even the menus are not fixed. Combine that with combat that feels nothing like a Final Fantasy game (infinite ranged attacks, no mana, no elemental weakness mechanics). And don't even get me started on the animations...noneThis game is a wreck.     It is a bit different from the FF games I have played in the past but either way it is an amazing game. The story and gameplay really make it for me! Only flaw I would say is that it doesn’t really feel like an JRPG anymore as it feels a lot more like an action game now but the story makes up for it and I recommend to atleast try out the demo!

    Honestly a step in the right direction compared to ff15 and 13. The combat is nice and I really like the main character. I think the story is great, but it falls of a little bit towards the end. I like the eikon customization Definetly a 10/10 IMO, but the review trolls needed to ruin something nice once again

It's more like an interactive anime with Quick Time Events (in 2023?). Fights are kinda boring and are easy and accomplishable by 1 button spam.     I’m glad Square Enix made this an action RPG. Turn-based hasn’t ever appealed to me. This is my first Final Fantasy game and I really like it so far. I can’t think of any negatives. An overall enjoyable experience.

    Amazing game! Only two problems: Performance on the PS5 and the sidequests…other than that its almost perfect. Great combat, nice story, incredible soundtrack, cool characters and beautiful graphics.

Both 15 and 16 (and that remake I guess) have morphed the series' combat into an unrecognizable atrocity when compared to the games of the past. Thankfully Square is still putting out games like Octopath Traveler, I Am Setsuna, and Triangle Strategy for the real RPG fans. The visuals and music are stunning, and the story is epic. And the world itself doesn't really feel that accessible. This game is like playing a movie in every sense.     Turn based combat is dead and thank god for that. In fact, all FF games before FF 7 (og) are outdated and meh games. Final Fantasy got actually good with 7th entry and X was also solid, but real innovation started with FF 7 Remake where they finally made combat good and modern. FF 16 is equally good. Thank god this old nonsense is gone forever! This game is a must buy, GOTY and masterpiece!

    The hype is real. This is easily the my goty. 10/10 in story gameplay graphics and music. Finally an FF game thats a must play after a couple of averages releases. Thank you sqaure-enix for giving us another masterpiece.

    Game runs fine and fits perfectly into the franchise. Entitled gamers & old ff fossils complaining about no turn based combat need to go touch grass and learn that things change. About halfway thru the story and can say with full confidence it's right up there with the all-time great final fantasys. Thank you yoshi-p and team!

    The story is simply easy to follow, intriguing, enjoyable, and also keeps you in a constant cliffhanger wanting to know what will follow. Sometimes it feels predictable and it end up surprising the player.     The world, graphics, art style, etc are incredibly detailed and beautiful.

Not kidding, obviously not, the argument is poor and rather seems like a bad attempt at ring of power together with willow cliches. The graphics are very bad and very painful (bought with current games or games also from Square-Enix such as FF7 Remake, FFXVI looks bad, is more painful and looks worse when compared to other games from other brands (Elden Ring).The villain is painful (yes, in FF we have already had villains of this type such as The Emperor, Zemus or Ultimesia...)

    Meh!:
    If you complained about FFXIII being a endless corridor it was, how curious that here I don't see complaints or offended and if they complained that Lightning from FFXIII had the personality of a stone, Cleid arrives to lower the standard even more and pity others. Just as FFXIII-3: Lightning Return was another tweaked and renamed game, so it seems that this FFXVI was originally an expansion or DLC from Forespoken or Babylon's Fall or from the canceled story DLC expansions from FF15 full reuse    … Expand

Todo son falacias, las misiones son simples si pero te dan un lore del juego muy importante, esa es la recompensa de las misiones, es cierto que es más un hack and Slash que un RPG pero eso no quita que se deba de criticar el juego por ser lineal, tener misiones simples etc porque hay miles de juegos así y se consideran obras maestras (en la misma saga el ff X y VII). Tambien la forma de llevar las partes +18 como escenas sex, chantajes, conflictos políticos, escenas de romance etc, siento que todo es muy orgánico, se siente real y no como en otros que parece forzado.

    - The gear and grafting is pretty bland. Hopefully it improves later on in the game.
    - Story while interesting, has some pacing issues-
    - The biggest minus is the lack of RPG elements usually found in Final Fantasy games! The game direction has gone a lot to the action route and I cannot say I am the biggest fan of this decision.
    - Performance mode needs some ironing.

    Final Rating will be a solid 7 from me.

    Not a bad game at all! I applaud the developers and Square for trying something different in this long running franchise. But sadly, FF16 seems to have taken some steps backwards on certain aspects ( Mainly the RPG mechanics ) while trying to innovate the series. But the story seems interesting enough even with its pacing issues and the combat while lacking the usual FF stuff is fun if you like Devil May Cry/Kingdom Hearts style combat and at the same time is visually appealing to push me to finish the game!

    Overall an amazing game. Some minor issues such as frame rate inconsistencies keep it from being a masterpiece, but the combat is simple and fun, the voice acting is solid, the story is good enough to keep me interested, and the fidelity is top tier. If you're wanting a final fantasy that's modern, but done way better than Versus 13/15, this is it. Worth the day 1 price point of 69.99usd.

This is now my new favorite Final Fantasy game, surpassing even VII Remake. I love the shift to action-orientated combat and feel it is exciting, rewarding, and a true spectacle.     Zero bugs that more than any other title, graphics, soundtracks and gameplay, missing RPG element already announce years so stop complains

    COMBAT has me HOOKED!

    Developing and executing combos with various Eikon abilities has been my #1 favourite thing to do in this game!

    Not just the combat, the darn story has me going through a rollercoaster of emotions! I am seriously satisfied with the game and would definitely recommend it- 10/10

    This is definitely an FF game.

    As a huge Final Fantasy fan, with FF7 always being the best, I also think FF16 is a great game.

    Only have 20 hours into the game, but it's a good story and entertaining game mechanics.

    If there is something to complain about, it is the performance mode, which has big dips. And that it is not possible to turn off motion blur.
    It's still clearly playable, but therefore not 10/10 either.

    This is a very shallow RPG. It strips out many RPG elements like items, status effects, elemental effects, party control, shallow mmo-like sidequest design, etc. In a desperate ploy to attract call of duty players and gta "modern gamers" this game just ends up being even more polarizing then FFXV A

    Es un excelente juego, todo lo que rodeo a la historia, a los personajes, ese giro de acontecimientos, la música es maravillosa, el combate es un obra maestra, he disfrutado este juego de principio a fin y se merece un diez, sin duda de los mejores juegos del año y contendiente a goty

    Excelente game superou minhas expectativas, melhor que final fantasy anterior em muitos aspectos, só precisa de patch para o modo performance.

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     This is a solid RPG/action game. Some elements of the game are unusual and fresh for single-player parts of the Final Fantasy series, but some are too dull and rudimentary.

    New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
