    Tenía mucho tiempo que no me emocionaba tanto con un videojuego. Tiene una perfecta historia que no te dejará indiferente. No esperaba nada de este juego pero me he llevado una gran grata sorpresa. 10/10

    A história é bem intrigante, te prende do início ao fim. O sistema de batalha acompanhado do design de personagens e o cenário bem desenhado te faz esquecer que esse jogo não é de mundo aberto.

    Es increíble que tenga una nota baja de los usuarios solo por un tema de resentimiento. Yo no descargue la demo ni busque sobre el juego para no construir una idea y venir con la mente en blanco con esta entrega y lea disfrute mucho me encanto el juego , gameplay, su historia todo.

    Lo recomiendo y mas para los fanáticos de la saga

    I cleared this video game, but I couldn’t find its uniqueness. The sub-quests were boring and the story wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t very good either. I enjoyed the combat system, but there were many scenes where I couldn’t see the enemy’s attack due to excessive effects, which hindered the fun. I think this game is an ordinary game.

    The story is very interesting and good, you always want to know how it continues. The game is a story driven so I already knew it would be good
    Speaking of gameplay, i found it very easy, not boring, but even with bosses its very hard to die. Developers also decided that during boss fights you get to respawn at the moment you died with full hp, and you really have no challenge then.

    Fetch quests at this time should be very low or nonexistent, but this game has so many of them and it becomes very, very boring.
    Speaking about exploration is personal: I have heard many people saying they prefer this linear way to explore the world, and many others not liking it. Personally I don't find exploration very funny.
    I found very bad their decision to completely eliminate the party, you only have to build the main character and that is very unusual for a JRPG.
    The OST is amazing!
    So I think ffxvi is a good game, but it failed in so many aspects imo.    … Expand

    About halfway through, been having an absolute blast with this game. Only criticism I would give it are the side quests are very generic, but luckily they don't seem to be oversaturated. Outside of that, the story is compelling, the combat is great, the world is gorgeous, the characters are personable, and the music is amazing.     This is one of the best FF games ever made. It's not a perfect game because it has a few flaws, but the story, direction, compelling world and combat system made it a special experience.

    Well i have to say for a final fantasy game Yoshi-p dropped the ball on this one the game is good but that's it good nothing more, it is very hollow and overall lacking for a ff game i think ff7 remake combat would have been so much better way to go in this game and when i start to think ff15 is a better game i know something is wrong.

    This game is flawless in every aspect. The combat, soundtrack, acting and gameplay is outstanding! I've never had so much fun doing melee combat and everytime a hype scene comes up, the music gets so much more intense. FF16 gives you so much goosebumps with the thrill of the game

    It's an amazing game with fascinating storytelling, epic battles, adorable characters, and especially the wonderful BGM. Thank you Yoshida san and team CBU3. I love this game and feeling so grateful for everything.

    I honestly can't believe how much negativity there is surrounding this game just because some people have a set-in-stone idea of "what a Final Fantasy game should be". Those are the kind of people who can't open their minds to new ideas. And don't even get me started on the review bombs. Geez. This game is an absolute masterpiece and it's better than I had ever expected it to be.     Final fantasy XVI has a combat reminiscent of Devil May cry but with a game of thrones-like story. The combat may look simple at first but if you try approaching it to be as effective and flashy as you can it can get quite interesting. The story is great. Not the best of the FF franchise but it is up there with the good ones. Graphics are great. The world is beautiful. The music is fantastic.

    It's amazing, I feel like I've watched a movie, with the character's journey, I can feel that the production team put so much effort into the experience. Although there are still some minor shortcomings, it is definitely not to the extent that you can maliciously give a low score.

    FFXVI is definitely a good action game, with a good story and just as much does not reflect what one would expect from a Final Fantasy. the strengths of the game revolve totally around the narrative plot that makes you want to keep going to see how the story evolves.
    On the gameplay level I find the cutscenes far too invasive, totally unnecessary side quests, and a total lack of the gdr    FFXVI is definitely a good action game, with a good story and just as much does not reflect what one would expect from a Final Fantasy. the strengths of the game revolve totally around the narrative plot that makes you want to keep going to see how the story evolves.

    The combat system resolves itself with a continuous rotation between eikons to spam the moves having coldowns with no need for tactics or reasoning, all for the purpose of staggering the opponent over and over again to do some damage.

    I played each Final Fantasy game since the early 90ties and enjoyed FF15. After playing Final Fantasy 16 for more than 8 hours, I have to say that I am concerned and disappointed about how superficial the series will become if it continues on this path.

    The story is okay, the graphics beautiful and the fights can be complex but else than that, it plays and feels more like a visual novel    I played each Final Fantasy game since the early 90ties and enjoyed FF15. After playing Final Fantasy 16 for more than 8 hours, I have to say that I am concerned and disappointed about how superficial the series will become if it continues on this path.

    The story is okay, the graphics beautiful and the fights can be complex but else than that, it plays and feels more like a visual novel with hack and slash elements then a complex Final Fantasy game that I have gotten used to from the past.
    The Side Quests are the shallowest I have completed in any FF game consisting of go fetch, find, fight, take back with no interesting twists or well hidden items. For me, just not enough effort by the developers...
    Clive's encouraging sentences towards his companions during fights is limited to 3. So after hearing "Get them boy" or "You know what to do, boy" various times in a fight with tons of encounters that I have to fight through... - I just want to turn off the sound all together.
    The corridor-like areas feel empty, dead and there is not much to discover. The shops only sell 3 potions, so they reduced the content overall.
    Outside towns it's even worse - sometimes you have to go through an area various times to do the Side Quests and hearing Clive say, after you've passed the vinyard area at least 3 times before: "This must be the vineyard" is just ridiculous!
    We all know, the Final Fantasy series can produce visual masterpieces, but I would have liked to see a better future of Final Fantasy in FF16 - one that has - apart from a gripping story - life with interesting Side Quests and a surprising, complex world.

    While FF15 was bursting with side activities like fishing, cooking and chocobo races - which were not mandatory and could totally be avoided by pure action lovers - at least it was those activities that put life into the game. FF16 contains only 3 "activities" which alternate and mix up until the end of the game interrupted by Cut-scenes: Walking - Hack'n'Slash - Shopping. This may be enough for others but certainly not for me and it really doesn't deserve a higher rating than FF15.    … Expand

    As an 35 years old FF veteran, who loved all previous FF games, im beyond amazed, how hateful are people nowadays, i feel sorry for anyone giving this game 0, because theres no justification for that even, if you are not fan of franchise. For me this is best ff game since ff 10 . Period.

    The unique focus of this game series They maintain their standards well. The cutscenes also played background music that fit the story.

    There may be some drawbacks. For example, the frame rate will drop slightly in some cutscenes. or gameplay that is not extreme to one side may not be liked by fans extreme from both the turn-based and action sides.

    I personally believe this game has the ability to be GOTY, but it would be difficult. Because this year's competitors look very strong, for best score and music, I think this game must be received for sure XD.    … Expand

It was never tactical like Persona, SMT, Dragon Quest or hell even Xenoblade Chronicles. FF has evolved and in a very good way.     People nowadays accept paying 80$ for a game that has framedrops well below 60 and resolution goes as low as 720p. A mediocre game at best overhyped by their own fans and gaming media. Battles are way too easy, you can just press two buttons (rip square one) and any extra skills that you use make it a kids play. Setting, story, chars and monsters are the only interesting thing that save this game.

    I can not really find a negative with this game, so I gotta give it a perfect score. Amazing game.

    A masterpiece of action, Final Fantasy XVI manages to combine combat only Capcom could make so far with great storytelling, compelling characters brought to life by incredible acting, and amazing setpieces with Square Enix's legendary cinematic quality.

    It's not that bad a game - it's just not an FF game. Story wise yes, it's as convoluted as any other FF game. Music is on point as always is with FF games. Just the combat is well off pace. Outside of eikon battles (just did the Typhon fight, which was awesome), the combat lacks impact. Combos are great to pull off, air juggling with Garuda brings me Nero vibes from DMC, but enemiesIt's not that bad a game - it's just not an FF game. Story wise yes, it's as convoluted as any other FF game. Music is on point as always is with FF games. Just the combat is well off pace. Outside of eikon battles (just did the Typhon fight, which was awesome), the combat lacks impact. Combos are great to pull off, air juggling with Garuda brings me Nero vibes from DMC, but enemies feel spongy. Parrying and dodging are too op and the windows should be shortened. They should of made this a non mainline FF game to appease some of the back lash from die hard turn based fans.     Excellent game, you have to be a real piece of work to review bomb this one. Best story, best action, graphics, music, and great gameplay. All across the board amazing. In contention for game of the year in my opinion…And ive played every major title for every system from the last 30 years.

    This is actually a REALLY Easy Fix....Play the Demo...it is the First 2 Hours of the Game plus a Taste of the Combat later on....I literally had No Intention of purchasing FF16, skipping a Mainline entry for the 1st time since i started playing FF...then I played the Demo...that sold me.
    The Negative Reviews, i am not going to waste my time reading. The game is not What They Wanted...so    This is actually a REALLY Easy Fix....Play the Demo...it is the First 2 Hours of the Game plus a Taste of the Combat later on....I literally had No Intention of purchasing FF16, skipping a Mainline entry for the 1st time since i started playing FF...then I played the Demo...that sold me.
    The Negative Reviews, i am not going to waste my time reading. The game is not What They Wanted...so they have decided that it is bad....that is a weak mindset.

    The game visuals are beautiful. The insane action combat and pacing is incredible it feels like i finished disc one at level 23! After wards the game feels like a sequel. No spoilers. But holy molly, the eikon battles are a chief kiss!     Exactly what FF is all about : Moogles and Chocobos, summons, crystals, Cid, incredible boss fights, beautiful musics, amazing and endearing characters and a story that makes you wanna replay the game. (and refs to other FFs obviously)

    As a die hard Final Fantasy(played all of them except FFXII), this is a complete different FF, the gameplay is similiar to FF7R and DMC altogether. I still haven't finish the game but i've already played many hours and the gameplay it's pretty nice once you get the gimmicks.     As a die hard Final Fantasy(played all of them except FFXII), this is a complete different FF, the gameplay is similiar to FF7R and DMC altogether. I still haven't finish the game but i've already played many hours and the gameplay it's pretty nice once you get the gimmicks.
    This game has one of the best cutscenes i've seen in gaming industry, the eikons battle are truly iconic and action packed.
    The story is pretty good with awesome characters, that are so iconic as Auron, Cid(FF7), etc.
    The game soundtrack doesn't disappoint bringing ones of the best OST since FFX and one of the best of the franchise.
    For me the only issue that really exists is the lack of exploration, since in fact the rewards are bad and you do not feel really rewarded for exploring every corner of the map. Sidequest are ok, people always complain about most being fetch quests, but they are exactly the same people who play hours of MMO's with the exactly same issues.
    FF saga clearly is changing, and im ok with that if they bring a good story, OST and gameplay.
    My real score is 9/10, but to opposite the agenda that is being made against the game im giving a 10/10.    … Expand

    For those reading this that are confused. I would normally give this game a 9 or 8 at the very lowest. But I do not want people scared away from this game due to a hatemob of those who have not even played it. Reviews of zero I can't even take seriously yet there are tons of them on here.

    Play the game for yourself, or at the very least try the demo before deciding. Watch a critic that you like. But don't go off of these skewed averages as they are not at all indicative of the actually quality.    … Expand

    The writing is wonderful, the world is like Ivalice with extra mud, and the voice acting / animation is about as good as it gets for a game with this kind of scope,    It's excellent.     My only complaint (aside from how British people pronounce chocobo "chokka-bo") is it's a little monochrome, if you catch my drift. Not unusual for a jrpg, and yeah yeah, it's a "euro medieval" setting, whatever. Dhalmekians should be brown. Hugo should look like Raubahn from 14, at minimum. It's an ongoing distraction that mars an otherwise great game. Even Game of Thrones, which this entry liberally borrows from, has more color in the cast than what you see here.     This game is a masterpiece. After the disappointment of 15, the director of 14 has come in to once again save what was previously thought to be hopeless. An amazing story, with compelling characters, with music and environment that take your breath away. If Tears of the Kingdom didn't exist, this would be my game of the year.

    Everything seems to be running smoothly, no one clashes with anyone else, there is hardly any interaction between them, just... somehow completely boring chatter. Honestly, for me, it's unfortunately exhausting. If it weren't for Final Fantasy being at the top, I would have already turned off the game and watched the story in a short 5-minute YouTube video; that's all it would be.

    The atmosphere barely grabs me, and despite the beautiful design, the landscapes are... meh, I simply don't feel anything. They can't even make the clouds move :~P. Even with a day/night cycle, it seems they had to cut corners.

    The combo system feels like it's only progressing slowly. I'm still using the same effective combo, but now there are two Esper abilities with long cooldowns added, much like MMORPGs such as FF14.

    The character Clive himself is also so boring and doesn't convince me at all. Apparently, it's normal for him to duel head-to-head with Espers (without abilities), while on the battlefield, all the soldiers are instantly massacred (by the way, the Domini can destroy an entire army instantly... why even have cannon fodder? Because of action and stuff?). It's nice that he has noble combat training, but as a player, that doesn't convince me why he has to throw himself into every melee without fear (and is convinced he will win? Espers are not an issue, but with a Dragoon, we have to catch our breath). I'd prefer useful and logical abilities that are more immersive than him already being a 'machine' instantly, and everyone finds it normal with Clive, blessing or no blessing.

    The world hardly invites exploration, the things you find couldn't be more uninteresting, and even the item system itself is very limited. There isn't much choice, not much to try. Instead of getting new things, everything is just +1, +2, +3, which seems to save resources, time, and creativity.

    Oh yeah, after an important story progression, the main quest tells me to get new armor from the old lady... but due to said progression, I already have the best armor (even purple rarity) available, and the old lady doesn't have anything even remotely better.

    The fact that you can only play as one character makes the gameplay itself unfortunately very monotonous, and did it really take so much time to develop just around one character? The locations are enclosed areas, scripted, and even on the ground, Clive's animation sometimes looks very clunky.

    The enemies seem uninteresting and interchangeable. The side quests are the same old rubbish as every mediocre RPG these days. What Ubisoft dominates with its 1000 markers on the map, meaninglessly completing incomprehensible side quests is the dominant feature of RPGs without exception.

    And the most important thing that has been missing since FF13: an outstanding soundtrack. A big part of the FF series was always its magnificent soundtrack, which one nostalgically listens to even today and fondly remembers the old parts. Music is an absolute component of a game if it wants to be remembered for a long time    … Expand

    Just don’t use the preorder bonuses or accessibility items if you don’t need them. they clearly trivialize the game which is quite challenging and literally unbeatable unless played correctly.

    I don't even know where to start. Let it be said, I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and have played them all. My favorite video game series. So it almost hurts to give a warning for this game.
    At least, if you're expecting a Final Fantasy. Sure, the series has evolved, and I'm not expecting a turn-based battle system or who knows how many other traditional things of the series here. But what is served up here is simply disappointing.
    I would just like to point out some of the biggest criticisms.
    - Graphics not worthy of a PS5. The performance mode can't even hold the 60 FPS. There are always beautiful sceneries, but overall character models very often look wooden, faces mask-like, and the environments poor in detail, gray and boring
    - they tried GOT but its just boring, confusing
    - battles are unbalanced. Exp is worthless. Sometimes easy enemies of from an 2 minute fight give more exp than a Boss fight. Leveling is useless.
    - No humor anymore, what Final Fantasy has always been about
    - the world is for the most part simply inspired by the Middle Ages. No more own newly created fantasy worlds like in the other parts. No effort has been made here. You constantly walk through some ugly castles, it's just sad. Many cities look the same, just gray and dreary. - In the game there is just fighting, and the opponents endure so much, so that such a fight just lasts a quarter of an hour. "Bullet Sponge" is what they call it in shooters. Then comes another eternal sequence and you can run around for five minutes. Fighting, watching eternally long sequences. No tactics are necessary, just stamina because the enemies have no end of life force. Just press the buttons, dodge boss enemies sometimes. Sometimes you get the feeling that they wanted to use the Souls series, which is in no way successful.
    - I personally couldn't sympathize with any of the protagonists.
    - German synchronization seems inappropriate. Lips out of sync and sometimes the character's mouth doesn't move at all when someone speaks. I don't expect this in a multimillion dollar game from Square Enix called Final Fantasy.
    - the game "moves" funny. It all kind of reminds me more of a Double A game. A lot of it seems unpolished. You can also see the origins of the developer who made the Final Fantasy 14 online role-playing game.

    On the positive side, I can say that the story is sometimes interesting, and you want to know more. Also, some of the staging seems cool, though at the same time completely over-the-top and silly and more reminiscent of a monster beat em up game.

    The short version of the conclusion is that it is simply an action game, without having anything to do with a role-playing game or Final Fantasy. If you just want fat action and bombast, you might be satisfied, but then often annoyed by the sometimes simply eternal cutscenes, which are also kind of boring.    … Expand

    After playing the demo I pre-ordered it. This is the first time I've ever done it and I'm glad I did. This has an amazing story, fun and complex combat system and amazing music. It ticks all the boxes. This is my Game of the Year. Well Done Creative Business Unit 3!

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     This is a solid RPG/action game. Some elements of the game are unusual and fresh for single-player parts of the Final Fantasy series, but some are too dull and rudimentary.

    New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
