Season 1 content is basically that all previous negative aspects are even worse. There are no end game modes. Devs lied about the quality of the game, and now they promise it'll get better.     Also, half the systems in the game are just terrible. the mount system is an absolute abomination, the itemization completely blows. I honestly could write 10 pages about all that is wrong with the game it’s kind of insane to think about how much they’ve missed with the team and budget they have. Then to top it all off, 7/18 released a patch which I can only describe as a complete slap in the face. Not a single QOL update, nerfed all damage and survivability, nerfed helltides for literally no reason. And the cherry on the cake is making the dungeon exit timer go from 3 seconds to 5 seconds. Nobody asked for this change. It is purely a time sink that blizzard thought they could sneak in. Absolutely reprehensible. 1 star is generous. the game deserves zero    … Expand

    After D2 success and D3's failure, they still haven't learned anything and gave us D4 which is worse than both. This game is actually very bad and I just can't believe I paid $100 for an ultimate edition (made this decision based on being a long time Diablo fan) with the hope that they'll actually get things right.     Many of the exciting and powerful abilities that players previously had are now gone, and certain builds that were already weak were not given the buffs they deserved. Instead, the developers chose to make every other build weaker, further impacting the overall fun and balance of the game. As a result, playing the game after the preseason patches feels less rewarding and engaging.

    Prior to the patch, players across various platforms, including Reddit, YouTube, and Twitch, had been voicing their requests for character buffs to increase the game's excitement and enjoyment. However, these pleas were met with the opposite response as the developers decided to make everyone weaker and slow down the gameplay.

    Basic quality-of-life updates seem to be overlooked, like increasing inventory space to accommodate items for different character builds. The shared chest between characters fills up too quickly, causing inconvenience to players who want to save items for various setups. It's hard to comprehend why the developers haven't introduced additional tabs or increased the chest capacity.

    Moreover, the game's late-game activity, Helltide farming, has been made more tedious by a 40% increase in the cost of loot chests, without offering any significant benefits. Additionally, the decision to lengthen the time it takes to teleport out of dungeons is baffling and frustrating for players.

    Furthermore, some super rare items exist in the game, but their scarcity has diminished players' excitement for farming them. The community has repeatedly requested a more consistent method for obtaining these items, such as defeating challenging super bosses or lowering the drop rate. Regrettably, the developers have yet to address these concerns in their updates.

    It is truly disheartening how unresponsive the developers and their management team have been to the valid feedback and suggestions from the player community.     I bought the game on PS5 and PC. Got a Necro up to 90. Was farming for specific gear. Then boom. The Season 1 patch comes out and wrecks everything. I feel robbed.

    Instead of adding complex and challenging aspiring content for players to strive for, increasing rewards and incentives to do such content over just regular ARPG-like farming, they nerfed player power by 50% across the board. I suppose adding gold and magic find % modifiers to each tier of Nightmare Dungeon was too hard as well.

    Rerolling items at the occultist is too expensive? Tough **** you now have like 3 completely useless affixes for 4 out of 5 classes to help you brick your items even faster.

    Overworld is boring and meaningless past level 5? Gotcha, let's make helltide chests expensive as **** for no reason while retaining the same (terrible) rewards. Helltide cinder drops were stealth nerfed btw, so that's pretty cool. Do enough for your forgotten souls and then never do them again! Back to Nightmare Dungeons you go!

    You wanna farm more gold to reroll your good items? Unlucky bro **** you, normal dungeons are completely irrelevant now because they drop ****all compared to Nightmare Dungeons. Best source of gold making? Boosting. Oh yea I forgot, that's gone too, let's go.

    Pointless to even bring up the whole season "mechanic" of malignant hearts, which are incredibly boring as per their twitter post, not very powerful at all AND they make you "opt out" (aka force you) of wearing 750 armor on your rings via the skulls. You get ANOTHER cheat death mechanic though, wonderful! That's exactly what HC needed.

    Search function? Stash tabs? Loot filters? Density buffs? Real endgame content? Making resistances actually functional? Fixing gold sinks? Balancing underused skills in a meaningful way? Balancing irrelevant affixes so that they're competitive with the better ones? Reworking Sorcs so that their class ACTUALLY WORKS in the game they paid $100 for? **** you. Enjoy the battlepass though, it's real cheap.

    Oh let's not forget that they said they'd fix VRAM memory leak but then completely retconned it by not including it in the patch notes, as well as literally any other fix to game stability. I had zero crashes prior to this patch and now I've gotten Fenris like 5 times since the patch. Cool! Thanks for that.

    Could go on and on, but the bottom line is that I TRULY believe this is the singular worst major patch in ARPG history, and the only way they can possibly save the game (not the season, THE GAME) is either panic delaying the Season 1 launch while trying to clean up their own mess, or completely deleting the patch and just launching the season with the previous foundation. They just put out job openings for basically every position under the sun for D4 like 2 weeks ago, maybe wait until those are filled and then try again.

Hopefully one of two things happens, they issue refunds to everyone who feels wronged by their decision making, or they revert the 1.1 patch changes. I understand nerfs are needed for the long term health of the game, but what about NOW? It was already a struggle to get through the endgame content without the cookie cutter meta builds, and now you just overall take more damage and do less damage. Personally, I was also pretty upset with the whole "make a new character for the seasons" thing, but I got over it when I realized I could just play different classes. Now my motivation to play has just been sapped completely. Guess it is my fault though, buying this game given the reputation Blizzard has built for themselves. Really just mind boggling to me that they know how their damage formula works and how the game progresses, and they still decided to make these changes. Makes me wonder what their internal comms look like. Do the actual programmers get any input? Do we get any input (lol)? I don't know. What I do know is first impressions matter, and if this is how they operate when bringing new content, I think the negative response from the community is warranted.… Expand

The 0 review bomb that it has been getting over the past 24 hours is rightfully deserved. I think I should be entitled to a refund based on such a hardcore bait and switch tactic.     The story was good , after level 50 you have same dungeons to farm just a bit harder , classes are either way to strong or just paper weak , a total disaster from a huge game developer , the game keeps getting changes per week , so you cant focus on a single build

    The game seemed to have potential until they announced the patch notes for season 1. No fixes for the real issues plaguing the game today and nerfs that will cause the casual player even more grind time to get levels and gear. I won’t be playing anymore until they start listening to the player base (with a focus on casuals who bring the most revenue to Blizzard’s bottom line.

    Instead of addressing class bugs like the minion necro and making it more playable, Blizzard seems to be more focused on turning the game into a grind-fest due to the live service model.

    It's a bit disappointing as players would prefer improvements in quality of life and bug fixes rather than increasing the grindiness of the game.

Sadly, Diablo 4, after a smooth launch, just absolutely destroyed their game with this new patch. And I'm going to explain exactly WHY they did this.

    Diablo 4's latest patch has everything to do with destroying the Eternal Realm. Yes, the Eternal Realm may seem "less important" because it won't feature these cool seasonal mechanics that we're supposed to enjoy, but, you can't access, you guessed it: The Battle Pass, in the Eternal Realm.

    Big shocker right?

    When you start to think logically that all of these "game designs and mechanics" were built around a corporate "for profit" scheme, you will understand that the Blizzard that used to exist, is simply a corpse that has been exploded by the greedy Millionaire/Billionaire Necromancer's, that prop up this corpse of a company.

    They sucked the soul out of this game, which actually had a solid foundation, and only needed a few solid tweaks to really solidify it's future, however, these corporate idiots cannot comprehend that empathizing and understanding your player base over making disgusting greedy decisions isn't possible.

    Why else would they reduce cooldown reduction by 30%? It's arguably the most important nerf in this new patch. If you can't reset your cooldowns fast enough, you can't use your skills faster, ultimately, slowing down the game and progress you would've made in the game.

    Why else would they reduce damage reduction by 25%, and completely gut the Aspect of Disobedience, the best defensive aspect in the game? It's the exact same concept, you die more, so it ultimately takes LONGER to get best in slot gear, and reach late endgame content.

    Speaking of endgame content, there is none. This is why they are making these changes. It's why they tried to sneak in capstone dungeon level caps of 40 and 60 without telling us.

    It's why they ultimately giga nerfed power leveling, boosting, and group leveling as a whole. Honestly, they just nerfed leveling and XP in general, because they understand that there's not enough content at the end of the game for you to enjoy.

    Grindy unrewarding game with boring loot. Devs killed what little fun there was by slowing down skills, combat, and leveling to artificially keep you playing longer in order to push their seasonal microtransaction journey. Wish I could get a refund, do not recommend.

    The game was pretty fun if a bit slow paced compared to older titles in the series, but Blizzard have decided that fun is not allowed and you are not to have a good time with this game. Exp nerfed, survivabity nerfed, fun factor nerfed, Helltides unplayable, For **** Sake they nerfed how long it takes to exit a **** dungeon. I wanted to love this game and I really was having fun but I am done.

    The 1.1.0 patch completely gutted the game, and it was so widely hated they had to do an emergency livestream the following friday just to try and quell the backlash.

    This has been ONE of the BIGGEST flops i've ever seen, honestly.
    I don't know how they dropped the ball this hard, how they're so out of touch with their community.

I must say i was hyped for d4, preordered ultimate once it was available and im starting to regret doing that.     Game is “supported” by a dev team that doesn’t support its casual OR hardcore gaming community. Latest pre season 1 patch made a slow game with minimal end game content and annoying QOL an even slower game with no additions to end game or better QOL. At least some decent titles from other studios will be released soon to take its place

    I've given the blizzard team all the benefits. I've defended them and encouraged others to buy the game. But with this season they lost me. Everything about this is horrible. No QoL improvements. We got no carrots, only sticks with Diablo 4

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
