    it ad such potential. i had the ultimate gifted to me and i purchased to ultimates for freinds. I have since removed the game from my pc. once the game is finished...and the devs stop invalidating every single build i do multiple times, i may installation it again. right now i am looking to baldur's gate 3 and starfield as diablo 4 is an absolute steaming pile right now.     Wasted about a 100 hours to build a character just to have it nerfed overnight. Great game, story and I got my money's worth but I won't be returning. There are a lot of good games in 2023 that hopefully won't waste my time like Diablo 4.

    I feel bad for the people that actually worked on this game. I can just imagine the cringe the programmers had to go through while taking orders from their stupid **** bosses. Way to ruin a franchise Blizzard.

    Do you just hire the most 'progressive', 'diverse' people you could find to absolutely ruin a name that your CORE audience has held very dear to them? This is probably the biggest flop in history, and I'm ashamed for you.

    I get you guys are a cash machine, anyone with a single brain cell recognizes you guys are just a **** company. Please don't continue ruining something that was created from brilliance and dedication from the D1, D2 days. Half of these morons weren't even born these games came out, why in the actual **** would you trust them to build a game like this? Really poor judgement with whoever was in charge of ANY decision made on this actual turd you call a game. **** you blizzard. Like to the core of your company, absolute waste of money and my time.

    I'm out, won't be playing ever again. And will actively tell people not to touch this. Hell, i'll even pay people to NOT play it.

    There is no fun to have after the main story is completed.
    Dungeons are boring as hell.
    Loot after level 50 is ridiculous...
    Last path made everything worst. The season gameplay is forced on casual player and means abandoning all eternal characters....
    What a big disappointement...
    The blizzard we love is long lost....

    Game was pretty addictive but patch 1.1.0 has totally ruined my endgame sorcerer character. I've lost most of my Arc Lash build damage. It is truly unfair. I am Diablo fan since its first part, since 1996 but it were other games and other Blizzard. Im really sorry, it is very sad for me but I don't think I will continue this game in this form because it's not joyful anymore.     I made an account to tell my story about how my fun and time was ripped away by 1 discission THAT has NOTHING to do with this company and its DUMB nerfs. This is my First ever Diablo game ever and i was fairly impressed to the point where I had decided this might actually be my game of the year and sunk hundreds of hours into this game. My favorite part in those hundreds of hours wasI made an account to tell my story about how my fun and time was ripped away by 1 discission THAT has NOTHING to do with this company and its DUMB nerfs. This is my First ever Diablo game ever and i was fairly impressed to the point where I had decided this might actually be my game of the year and sunk hundreds of hours into this game. My favorite part in those hundreds of hours was killing some random person and seeing a small Funny popup in the corner saying I unlocked a title called "Predator" I literally laughed for over 5 minutes looking at all the combinations you could put and created a ENTIRELY new character named Jeffery Epstein where I proudly equipped the title and ran around killing demons. NOW after a few months I have been seeing TONS and TONS of videos how Diablo 4 is dying blah blah blah everyone here reading the reviews knows Exactly why they are here. I'm not one to go over every little detail of every class and every nerf that is introduced but this didn't bug me. I boot up a game and start a brand new character and I name them Bill Cosby this time expecting a brilliant Level 100 character to be putting people to sleep as a sorcerer or whatever I level up my character in this brand new ""SEASONAL WORLD"" looking the EXACT same id say my 30 min I put into leveling Bill Cosby was a complete waste because I didn't see a Damn thing that popped out and said WOW new season Just the same **** That isn't worth my time because the moment I went and hovered to look for Predator it was nowhere to be seen. Then I go huh maybe because its a seasonal thing that would be super awesome if all my hours spent would playing BETA would be put to good use where nobody would be able to acquire predator title anymore. Nope. I log into Jeffery Epstein and His TITLE is replaced with "Enemy". This SOFT company had no one talking about this title and it made it through TESTING to PUT IT IN THE GAME and they go and replace it with some dumb BS exactly what they did with overwatch PVE acting like nobody will notice or it wont affect players. THIS ONE Decision has stopped me from ever spending money on a blizzard title or any time on Diablo ever again. Hopefully yall can read this and agree that blizzard has crossed the line a long time ago but as a casual player having my hard earned time to Jeffery Epstein and Bill Cosby is just a complete heartbreak.… Expand

Please, don't buy this game. Better buy 3 copies of Baldur's Gate 3 for all your family members and spend time with something really awesome!

    The game at the very beginning of its released it was working perfect. Only servers fixes maybe needed. At the moment they started nerfing the game every week they totally messed it up. All the long hours put in this game to buff your character for nothing because they wanted to swipe out all your character stats and make it weaker for no reason.     First of all, they touted this as being a social D4. This is the most anti-social Diablo yet!
    No general public chat!
    No party finder!

    Rubber band every time you come to town.

Increasing the cooldowns and minimizing the armor, even though the developers are aware that the resistance system on which the class is built is currently broken, is the height of absurdity. I can only imagine what kind of conversation about the Sorceress took place at Blizzard:
    Head of Development: Hey? Is that **** sorceress finally dead?
    Head of Balancing: Well, I think so? We buried her.
    Head of Development: But she still has quite a lot of followers! Take care of it!
    Head of Balancing: Okay, we'll dig her up again, and burn everything thats left! Just to be sure!

    Either the developers are completely oblivious to their own game mechanics or it's a deliberate action to slow down players and generate longer playtime per player to improve the statistics (KPI). Instead of finally creating decent endgame content, they simply stretch the path to the endgame indefinitely, so the lack of content isn't noticed as quickly.    … Expand

    I have played games since I was a small child (33), played WoW, Runescape (first time it came out), *name drop other grind-loot game. So I am not opposed to a long grind, (92 is middle for OSRS of a skill that goes to 99) but it has to have some benefit, you unlock something that makes your character/account better. Diablo 4 has none of that with all the grind, and the patch notes areI have played games since I was a small child (33), played WoW, Runescape (first time it came out), *name drop other grind-loot game.     The Dev team nerfed all the builds and defenses on the eternal realm by 50%. Players spent hundreds of hours on these characters only to to force players to the season realm so they spend money on a battle pass.

Terrible inventory, super poor item drop rates. 10000 useless items b4 you find one that's even close to usable. Terribly unbalanced in a lot of ways. I want this game to be better soo badly. The way some of the classes are designed makes the game extremely grindy and choppy, where traditionally an ARPG would be faster paced and smooth. I dont understand why they would make nerfs to classes that are already notoriously weak. Are they only watching the top .00000001% video footage when making decisions? they should be the exception, not the rule. us "causals" want to be able to log into the game for a couple hours a day and feel a sense of accomplishment during that session.....… Expand

    Before the last patch I could rate it 6.5, now it is literally 0.0, totally trash, if you want players to spend more and effort, you can raise the top level of dungeon to 200 instead of weakening everyone, completely waste of money and time play this game

    I really regret that I bought the game! At best, good optics are presented here, but the fun of playing falls by the wayside. The loot system just sucks and the builds are all dull and slow. Blizzard, you screwed up.

    Was okay before. Really gorgeous. Game still stutters all of the time and I realized that after about level 70, the game doesn't change. There just doesn't feel like there's any incentive to keep playing. Season 1 was a ray of light, but upon realize, it's garbage. All of the things that made grinding annoying, go worse.

    The last update has made the game unplayable. Do not even think of purchasing it until this is fixed. Certain classes are now unplayable and you can forget about soloing anything unless you have 5 hours to spend and like kiteing all the time. Absolutely terrible

    Don't buy, its just another sad attempt to get your money, with scammy methods for the battlepass. Nerfs accross the board, for playtime increase, not for better gameplay, so that you buy more in their online shop.
    Utterly Disgusting, please do not support this behavior.

    Its unfortunate that I am rating this game a 0, Story was Meh Kinda don't understand why Lilith is bad.
    Now for the gameplay it seems to be the Devs don't understand how to create a game I really Dislike the fact that i can't play it offline.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the 5th Diablo game including Diablo Immortal that came out a short while ago. I got to a reasonable level of 76 before the patch was implemented. I did enjoy the beginning of the game. The middle and towards the endgame was horrible. The main boss isn't even a prime evil. She felt more like a sub boss at best. Paragon isn't a true paragon. They should just call it max level 100. In previous titles, both D3 and Immortal, the paragon levels was separate and infinite. When you completed the season your paragon experience would transfer to your non seasonal characters. With the current play style, it's impossible. There's no pets which would make it easier to pick up gold for you. There's no set legendaries like there was in the previous 2 titles. The mount is as slow as my character. And for being an open world where they supposedly sold 10 million copies, the game always feels empty. The guild I was in no one ever talked, even though it was an option. And the people I ran with were just rude and only wanted to do the content they could do ( NM dungeons 50 ). When I was running into a real problem. I kept getting levels, but the lvls was not what I was needing. I was needing gear and aspects from legendaries which never dropped my entire playthrough. My advice for developers, if it ain't broke don't fix it. In other words reevaluate aspects of previous installments of the franchise (and not just D2) that made the game fun and work off of that.… Expand

    Despite having some moderate amount of "fun" during the beta, the full game turned out exactly as i predicted based on my experience with how modern Blizzard does video games - a polished turd. They baited the public, then balanced every last drop of fun from the game and turned it into a tedious, and ultimately pointless rat maza grind.

    After the patch game and some animations got very slow, you can’t even kill basic mobs, feels like you are beating a wall.

    No good lots, not enought stashes, I spent time checking items more than I play game, so boring. I was very excited for the game and cross platform, they said would be better with the new season but all got worse.

    We get in dungeon and I don’t even see my char, in the end we don’t even see who dealt the most damage, killed most etc. game is so dull. It can be fixed but there will be no players left till they fix. I am so sorry. I will not do the same things again and again for nothing.    … Expand

    I've literally never seen a game with such an high potential that is in fact so bad due to devs choices, bugs, absence of QoL stuff and boring gameplay in general. What a fail to purchase it... Maybe in 2 yrs it will be playable but as of now, it is very unfun and boring.

    Just as many others have already said - The game is pretty but also soulless and boring. The non-stop waves and hordes of enemies isn't fun in the slightest bit. You just mash and click buttons until the vague and mostly indistinguishable moving objects surrounding you stop moving. What's even the point of blue items? And really, even the yellow items aren't usually all that special.
    Diablo I and II were insanely fun games. There was a formula that worked so well that people literally played them for years and even decades (D2). DIII was ok-ish but everyone knew D2 was better. How can the developers at Blizzard be so obtuse? Why make moving through the game so mind numbing? Why get rid of the value of gold? Why not make yellow (and orange) items hard to find and worth it when they are? Why make enemy combat an endless, confusing button smash slog? I literally can't tell what most enemies look like or what they're even doing to me. It's just visual noise.
    Why was D2 so much better than D1? Because it was bigger and gave us more characters. Sure there was some pretty cool innovation with the gems and rune system but the basic game play didn't change.
    I feel like D4 is a pretty looking Diablo clone that got all the reasons why Diablo was so fun completely wrong. This kind of misstep would be ok if these games came out every 5 years. But to wait almost 12 years? For this? It's just flat out unacceptable.    … Expand

    - unique items are very rare and still manage to be worser than common rare items.
    - horrible debuffs by the devs ruined the experience. - where is the great mage skills like diablo 2, 3 - We spend hundreds of hours playing diablo 4 and we get punished for getting "strong"? is it that right ?    i don't know how a team of experienced people do this with a game as traditional as diablo.

    I played a few hundreds of hours, gotten sorc, rogue and barb to 100. The devs absolutely dont know what they're doing. Its like D4 is a No Fun Allowed zone. Constant Nerfs to everything thats fun and nothing get buffed to compensate making builds weaker. Definitely dont reccomend

    The game has fundamental problems with its Dungeon System, its Inventar system end the Overall Playstyle.
    You have stats that are not useable and have no really interesting Monster/Boss mechanics except you get Oneshot.
    Years of experience from D3 and they **** it up this bad.
    To bad i cant get my money back.

One poor update was one thing, but the lack of communication or care during maintenance and updates is incredible for a company with such vast resources. Throw someone's kid on twitter and have him text the dev team every now and then to let us know how things are going.     Not gonna go into the details of the latest nerf/patch, it's beating a dead horse at this point...but I will say that my online friends who I tried to convince to get the game...I now have told them to, "stay away...I quit and the game is broken..."

    Nothing much exciting changes after the s1 patch. They nerfed so many things. For what? To make the game much slower? Re-farming renown is sooo boring. I can't even play for more than an hour.

When I log in, my Sorc is doing 80% less damage than before the patch. The game isn't playable, and based on how long it takes them to fix something (if they solve it at all), I'll be done with D4 well before that day arrives.t

    Long story short - insta HC death after the fight (no death effects, explosions, poison pool, etc.). Just died. "Slain by Unknown Killer". Worst HC experience ever

    Don't waste your time playing. All the time you spend building you character will be set back when Blizzard decides they want you to do it all again. Way too grindy for no rewards.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
