    The first one was a true masterpiece and the second when we speak abou graphics and gameplay is good but the turned the story in to trash, if you play because you want a good story thinking about the first one you will lose your will to play after 2 hours or so

    The last of us was primary the relationship between Joel and Ellie for me, what is definitely ruined in the part 2. Big Part of this game is also absolutely without motivation and does not make sense

    I wish they handled differently the story. I felt so disconnected to the characters. The UI, Music, Voice Acting, Gameplay, Graphics are so good, but not good enough to overtakes the terrible writing.

The characters are dumbed down and the story is nowhere near logical, we play the entire game on a revenge spree where the game forces us to kill several human characters and by the end teaches us to refrain from violence, like it never occurred to us before. Hideo Kojima gave us a lesson of not using violence in MGS 3 Snake Eater and that worked way better than here because that game never forced us to murder people. The gameplay is nearly the same as its predecessor. 3/10 for only for Ellie singing Take on Me, that was freaking beautiful.… Expand

    Honestly most dissapointing game of the generation for me. I saw the leaks but still wanted to go in open minded and enjoy the game for what it has to offer. While the gameplay is ok and the grafics are good everything about the story turned out to be even worse than exspected. First time being dissapointed with ND. I really don't get how all those reviewers brought this game up to a 95.

    Thanks for keeping the negative stereotype of bisexual people being disloyal cheaters, Naughty Dog, that really helps me out in my life as someone who is openly bisexual.

    Also, stop using 'subverting expectations' as a shield for bad writing because when someone actually properly subverts expectations no one actually believes you because you've misused the phrase too much.

    I think they need to STOP sexual objectification of the game characters. There is NO WAY your new male protagonist - Abby - can be so muscular in realistic post-apocaliptic setting! He need to survive, not lift! And what with this long hair? ACTUALLY most males after 20 are balding! 0/10. His high-pitched voice actor sucks too

    Last of Us is a game built on a foundation focusing on the story of Joel and Ellie.

    The father and daughter relationship and their grit and intelligence got them through the dangers of the world. They were almost inseparable.

    Last of Us 2 decides to throw all of everything I just stated.

    I waited seven years for this.
    Whatever you call this.

    Only thing that was good was the graphics.

    You know you done screwed up when you have a game where the story is hyped up as the critical element, and then the story turns out to be piping hot ass. Naughty Dog's gone downhill ever since they ousted Amy Hennig and it truly shows.

I largely feel the overly positive reviews are based on the players political views, which anyone not heavily left will likely take issue with something here, just like the overly negative ones, this divisional stance the writers took is why my score is so low as I feel this is an extremely poor tactic to take. The first game did not have this issue, it was largely a story of personal struggle and growth of Joel set to a virus outbreak. This game relies so heavily on political flavor of the week that its story is 2 dimensional if those ideals don't align with your own. Thats not going to bring anyone over to your side, though I'd argue that a game is not the place to make such broad arguments as a form of escapism people don't want this stuff shoved in their face from every angle. OK so on to the actual game, it plays well and looks fantastic, though the gameplay has seen no upgrade or change other then a character/gender swap of the MC, which honestly for a game made in 2013 I was expecting some new mechanics especially since Elly is smaller and weaker then Joel. The lack of any online component is fine by me as ND games are story driven and don't need it, but if an online mode wasn't part of this game then why has so little time been dedicated to improving or tweaking the core mechanics? There are other cheap/cheesy things done here such as Druckman scanning himself into the game as yet another poorly driven plot point. The last point I will make is regardless of your stance of right vs left no one and I say confidently NO ONE wanted a forced fully motion captured transsexual sex scene… Expand

    Graphyc and gameplay are perfect, the level design is eons superior to the first game, the history is very difficult to accept, its objectively a well written history, but its not made to make anybody happy, the game does not try to give any satisfaction to the player, and thats just a design choice, not a bad thing. the game isnt for everyone, but for me is the best game on the ps4.

Не понимаю из за чего столько негатива в сторону второй части.Начнём с самого печального,смерти Джоела ,многие не довольны его смертью,а я вот наоборот считаю что его смерть очень уместна, потому что это единственное что могло дать такие эмоции игрокам, которые нужны для мести.Насчёт графики, анимаций и геймплея всё на уровне, тут без вопросов.Многие жаловались что игра однотипная и надоедает, я не согласен, прошёл её за первые 2 дня,так сказать залпом, и получил много эмоций.Вобщем игра очень понравилась и не заслуживает столько негатива в свою сторону.… Expand

The two sided story is a great experience, with both Ellie’s and Abby’s three days in Seattle mirroring and opposing each other at times. It’s such an emotional roller coaster. And just the mechanics alone make it an amazing game. The movement, graphics, and the combatI’m so satisfied with this story/game. The hate it’s brought astonishes me, many seem to have not even played the game. The two sided story is a great experience, with both Ellie’s and Abby’s three days in Seattle mirroring and opposing each other at times. It’s such an emotional roller coaster.     The graphics are outstanding. However, killing Joel off just makes this game a whole piece of trash. And that second gameplay with Abbey. No no no. What the hell was the director thinking? It felt so weird besides the weird looking character I waa forced to play with. JOEL deserved much better.

    The biggest flaw of the this game definitely comes from the unconvincing storylines. NaughtyDog did a bad job piecing the new stories of WLF, Seraphites, and Rattlers together. It's hard to make players to feel any deep connection between these group, and It makes the whole stories lose its focus on the    Last of Us part II simply doesn't meet the high expectation from the general public.

It's hard to make players to feel any deep connection between these group, and It makes the whole stories lose its focus on the story of extended survival life for Elle and Joel. Abby is an interesting character brought into the game. Parts of her stories are realistic, but there are many parts that are totally poor designed and poorly shape the character. For example, Joel's dead comes too early in the game, and Abby's stories are not properly elaborated later. Consequently, it makes the entire game very unconvincing.
    The fact that the 7 years of development period does not bring too much of improvement on the game can be acceptable as long as the storylines are appealing and more realistic.
    Overall, there are still part of the game that are decently done, character's development, life conflicts, soundtracks. Still, NaughtyDog team did not put enough heart to carefully develop the game in a more realistic story. NaughtyDog underestimate game players' understanding of the real life situations. True, It's just an imaginary world still, but it can simply be done better.
    I am still looking forward for Last of Us Part 3 , hoping NaughtyDog do a better job on the next one.
    Don't make the game become a one-hit-wonder.

    Honestly I don't know what Naughty Dog were thinking when they drafted the script, because it is terrible and it is such a shame that the story turned out this way, it is so bad that it manages to sour the entire experience

On a technical level, at least in everything I’ve seen so far, there is nothing new to show here. Honestly the biggest change is they made the quick time events wayy better. It’s okay. This is the biggest title Naughty Dog has probably ever handled so the pacing feels really inconsistent. In the first three and a half hours, the first half hour is the best and then slows wayyyyy down. Last of Us and all the Uncharted games are about 10 hours each. This one is supposed to be ~20 hours I heard but there’s not a lot of game to fill that space out. It’s a lot of moving from one cutscene to the next with nothing connecting it, but honestly that could just be because they wanted a slower opening before things ramp up. Idk, the first Last of Us starts with Joel’s daughter dying in his arms and while it does have its slow moments, they were always there to service the story. For the most part I feel the first game kept a pretty consistent high tension/energy throughout the full game. Second one hasn’t lost me yet but it’s starting to drag a bit. For comparison’s sake, 2 has one high octane moment in the first three and a half hours and doesn’t keep the momentum going. The first game imo had the opposite problem of never dwelling on impactful moments and swept them aside, opting for a time skip any time something big happened, but because of that never decreases the forward momentum from the very first scene of the game. Okay I’ll say there is one thing I outright don’t like and it’s that you can’t replace bottles with bricks and vice versa like in the first game. Now if you’re holding a filthy bottle and wanna pick up a shiny new brick your only choice is to throw the bottle. Not sure why this was implemented but it was probably because of Bottle Propaganda. One good thing I can say about The Last of Us 2 is how impressive the enemy AI is. It’s probably one step away from perfect in my eyes, the one thing missing of course being that enemies will still mindlessly throw themselves at you rather than backing down or running away but games gotta game so I didn’t really expect anything like that. Aside from that, tho, enemies will flank you, push forward when you reload, and just genuinely approach combat in a realistic way I wasn’t expecting. Enemies can pull you out from under cars, shout out your positions to their allies, and rush you if you get too close. There is a level of cartoonish csilliness, however, that comes with the game’s running theme of uncomfortability. Something like 3/5ths of the time when you kill a human, their allies will call out their name in dramatic fashion. the gameintends this to be dramatic, but given the sheer amount of times it happens, the overdramatized voice acting, and the INABILITY TO AVOID MOST COMBAT ENCOUNTERS, it just comes off as super dumb. This isn’t my only issue with the game’s themes nor is it even the biggest, but that’s a topic for another time. Combat still isn’t as deep as I wish it was, but with zombies feeling “smarter” at times and humans functioning like living thinking obstacles, going through it feels less like outsmarting a computer and more like outsmarting real people. It’s honestly just mean spirited in general. I thought the first few hours were fine but once human enemies show up the game takes on this guise of “Oh how could you kill them, they had a family … Expand
