    The most disappointing game of this year... or even this decade. The story is completely nonsense and I can't believe that it is written by Naughty Dog.

    The only selling point of this game is the control and details of the game, but the story still making me sick and I withstand it anymore.

    the first game was a real joy. I couldn't believe a game could be as good as a movie plot-wise.
    it's a shame they decided to use the new game as a vehicle for spreading the globalist political agenda. but at least with all those 100/100 reviews, it exposed the system 1 more time

Never have i ever had to write a review about a game i have not finished myself, i tryed to stomach the game but i rly couldnt do it after i had to chase Ellie down with Abby, i decided to look for the end on the internet to help me get the emotional courage to push through it and reach that closure but what i found out is that there is no closure. The game was said to not be for everyone and i agree but the problem is that if u have played the first game i dont think u will be able to enjoy the second one.
    How NG tought it would be able to make u like Abby as a character is beyond belief and just show how amateur they were about this game. But then again it can be that NG rly didnt want that and trully just wanted to give u a bitter game experience with no fun and only pain, when i play a game i do it to feel better be it because its fun, hearth warming, interesting or any other reason that can leave me smiling after a game session and even if i get frustrated after i lose i can just try again and win. With the last of us 2 there is no wining, only rage.
    Play it if u havent played the first one or u just dont have the emotional bound with the first one's characters otherwise i recommend u play the first one again and forget about the part 2.    … Expand

    Oh I despise this story so much...it's so comically bleak and full of forced fatalism just not what you need in the world right now. Shock impact for it's own sake is poor story telling. The actual game mechanics and graphics are really good but I just can't get past the horrible story.

    Los agujeros en el guión y sus incoherencias son enormes, además de que el desarrollo de personajes es nulo y no logra que empatices con ellos(con una parte al menos).

    Estuve esperando 5 años para jugar a este juego, y cuando lo termine pensé que no debería de haber existido, una completa decepción. Ademas lo compre de salida, la primera vez que lo hago, y me arrepiento muchísimo.

    En resumen, uno de los mejores juegos de ps4 en cuanto a gráficos, ambientación y animaciones, pero que esta totalmente arruinada por una historia nefasta que parece una película mala de un sábado por la tarde.Desde

    Nice graphic and animation. But mediocre gameplay like the last game. The storytelling that always be the strongest point of the previous game is really weak in this one. Poorly executed most of the time and feels like made to only satisfy certain group of people.

I was so looking forward to this game, I hoped the leaks were wrong. Unfortunately, they are all true. And I can no longer hear all of these apologists who believe that the majority of users fervently hates this game because Ellie is a lesbian. No, that's not what it is about. I was looking forward to seeing Joel again, he was my main reason to buy the game. Ellie is cool and I wanted to know how she developed. But I wouldn't have bought the game because of her. Why is this game bad? Druckmann threw Ellie and Joel in front of a incoming train. The story is crap, how Druckmann has Joel killed in the game is crap and the end is a joke. This game has a amazing graphic. True. But what good is the best graphics if a game has no heart? For me, neither TLoU2 nor Naughty Dog exists. The sound, art, music, voice acting, characters and graphics are all spectacular. And the story is pretty damn good too. It feels like a natural progression of the first game, even if I don’t 100% agree with some decisions made in the story. There are a lot of flashbacks that it kind of takes you out of the game. Also, you can spend so much time walking around to find stupid items that have absolutely no effect on the game and the puzzles get old quickly. I will say that combat is good enough and the enemy/allies AI is pretty amazing. My biggest problem with this game is you play as a character named Abby for a good half of the game. I like Abby as a character and her story is really good. But no matter how much you play as her you never fully embrace her because of a choice she makes a little less than a quarter into the game. Her character/story would have made for a perfect spinoff game in my opinion. Overall this game is good and worth the time. And contrary to other reviews, this game doesn’t try to push an agenda or try to be some SJW propaganda. Anyone who makes that claim has not played the game at all, or at least finished it.… Expand

From the awful treatment of employees to Anita Sarkeesian's involvement to straight-up lying in the trailer and false copyright striking memes and literal tweets without any content whatsoever, this game was a dumpster fire from the start, and that's not even considering the game itself.

    It really took them 7 years to make this piece of garbage.
    The only good thing about it is the graphics, but those don't matter since the gameplay is mediocre at best, and the story is the worst thing written in a long time.

    Imagine killing Joel in a trap which he would have easily seen and then try to make us feel bad for the killer.

    Imagine then making Ellie kill a ton of people just to get to Joel's killer and then not make us be able to take revenge at the end.

    The story of this game is so badly written it's not even funny. At least Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" was hilariously bad, but Neil Druckmann could not even accomplish that. When he said he was crying at the end, he was right, but for the wrong reasons. You'll cry at the end of the game because of the thought of what could have been, not because of the garbage that's been given. A story filled with plot holes and unrelatable characters makes The Last of Us: Part 2 a dull game.

    When Neil Druckmann's self insert spat on Joel's bleeding body, I knew exactly what I was in for. This game does not even deserve a 1 compared to how great the first game was. Guess all of the so-called "game critics" got to see Neil Druckmann's wallet.    … Expand

They absolutely spit on the legacy of their series, their fans, and their beloved characters. Joel, the most untrusting, cunning, and cautious person, allows a bunch of **** goons to sneak up on him, then proceeds to allow them to kill him with a **** golf club without fighting back whatsoever. Then Ellie, a girl who's murdered entire villages, does not avenge his death after going through absolute hell to get the chance to, and allows the **** character which is Abby to get away. It's like the writers were on crack when they wrote their beloved franchise into the ground. Don't buy this game, just watch a playthrough of it and see the look of disgusting on the face of the poor soul who's taking a bullet for you by playing the game for you.… Expand

    So I just finished my 3rd playthrough of this game. Now.. in the first playthrough I spend the time that I had with Abby with absolute disgust and hate. I wasn't able to think objectively and see beyond my curtain of hatred. I couldn't get behind the idea of spending half of my game time on a game that I thought was supposed to be about Joel and Ellie with a new character that at thisSo I just finished my 3rd playthrough of this game. Now.. in the first playthrough I spend the time that I had with Abby with absolute disgust and hate. I wasn't able to think objectively and see beyond my curtain of hatred. I couldn't get behind the idea of spending half of my game time on a game that I thought was supposed to be about Joel and Ellie with a new character that at this point I only wanted to murder.

    I rushed through Abby's part as quickly as I could. I ended up saying things like "Okay I can see what Neil Druckmann tried here but it didn't work for me. The story was okay but I was disappointed with the choices they did in the narrative structure, but the rest of the game is a masterpiece".

    I went into my second playthrough with the objective to be... objective! and approach the whole Abby scenario with open-mindedness! And it worked. I started liking Abby and I started to empathize with her story. I finished the game with a much more satisfying feeling towards the story and its characters.

    The 3rd playthrough only strengthened that feeling and it came to a point where I wasn't so sure anymore if I enjoyed Ellie's or Abby's story more. The conflicts between Ellie and Abby just left me speechless. I like both characters, I understand the reasoning behind their doings. I empathize with them. I don't want either to die. It certainly would have been a gruesome finisher if Ellie really would have killed Abby in the end. But I think the choice the narrative directors did here was absolutely fine. The tiny problem that I have here is that I don't know if it was entirely realistic for Ellie to not kill Abby. You see, from a player's point of view it is by far the most reasonable decision to make. We understand both POVs and we know what they both went through. It was a cycle of hatred of two people that lost everything. The problem here is that Ellie doesn't know really know what Abby has gone through so I don't know if it was entirely realistic for her to stop the killing even when it was all she could think of for months. What an incredibly hard decision to make for the narrative directors. I respect the decision to leave Abby alive at the end. It was the more satisfying ending and maybe it isn't all too far-fetched that Ellie stopped the killing when she saw how Abby was tormented and at the same time thinking about Joel and the fact that Abby let her live not only once but twice. Maybe it really was the more realistic choice.

    I also feel like the side cast of this game is pretty underrated. A lot of people call characters like Owen and Jesse trash just because they don't play a MAJOR role in the game. I feel like these characters perfectly tied into the entire story. They may not have been the most influential on the story but the way they came and went tied in so well.

    I just wanted to get that off of my chest and say that this game is a masterpiece. The story is still not close to the first part but it is a damn good story for sure. And like I said before. Gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, animation work, details, world-building, etc are a masterpiece.

    I challenge people that disliked the narrative or disliked Abby after the first playthrough to leave the game alone for a few weeks/months and come back with a more objective attitude. Now that you know how the story plays out, you won't be surprised and caught off guard by the unorthodox story structure. I promise you won't regret it.

I'm talking about the characters. Joel was a cog in the machine that made this game great. When you remove said cog in a meaningless way people like me you lose any interest in the story you built. It's like building a house just to demo it ...... Main reason shows like the walking dead lost me at season 2. You have to have a reason to continue. Tough I pushed on threw hating every second just waiting for revenge for Joel just too get **** in the ass by the writers...... I’ve never been one to comment or do a review but the last of us 2 has taken a a piece of me away in ways I can’t explain. How can you honestly make us go through majority of the game as Abby after what she did in front of our eyes/Ellie’s eyes? It felt like naughty dog is making a mockery of what made the first game such a gem and throwing everything that mattered away. I was just sad everytime i saw Ellie and Joel because it kept reminding me of what I lost and what they gave me instead. This is just a shame...a real shame.… Expand

    And I (among several others I've spotted) thought there were huge problems with the game that aren't nested in anti-progressive attitudes...

    On the vaccine - my interpretation (and it could be wrong) of the first game was that this was nothing more than fleeting hope amongst an incredibly desperate rag-tag group of abused and abusive individuals. There was little, if any, inductive evidence provided to suggest that one could actually be derived from Ellie, aside from minor lip-service. There was no invitro-testing, data analysis, or even procurement of proper scientific equipment to produce one, presented/mentioned in the storyline. Then there's the manufacturing, development, adverse-event monitoring, and proper coordination of conveying this information to other researchers/physicians (and how many of those are left?) across the continent in order to vaccinate everyone, assuming there would be no other unforeseen phenomenon, catastrophes, wars over the drug, etc… All in all, the science was left to your imagination, which is fine, but my imagination never really lead me to believe that, in this universe as presented, it was viable. So I understood (though didn't necessarily agree) with Joel's motivations in the first game, and why I felt that his lie to Ellie was so moving at the end.

    I'm unsure if the story of LOUII was already planned during the development of the first. If so, I think the first one should've been handled differently. If not, then I'm not clear as to why so much weight was given to the effectiveness of the vaccine, as it was never construed to be. This trivializes the ethical justification for Abby - as I do not truly believe she was utilitarian, nor her father. Thus, it's hard to agree an "eye for an eye" was ever properly indicated, which I think was the intent of this revenge plot.

    So I didn't really like the story for that main reason. The gameplay was also a bit boring -- it just felt dated, and perhaps there were just too many interactive cinematic parts. I strongly disliked the soundtrack... I didn't find any of the (very few) tracks moving, aside from a few pieces, and most of the game you trudge through silence. Though the actual sound effects were solid, as was the voice acting.

    Graphics, on the other hand, were brilliant. It's a shame I can't get as much FPS as I'd like from a PS4, but nonetheless, they were absolutely phenomenal!

    Overall - I'd give this game a 3/10. The main value resulting from the artistic portrayal of the environments. It wasn't really fun to play, the story was a bit too long, and the motif of revenge has been done better before. At $60... that's asking too much for the quality that it is...    … Expand

    Great visual design but the story is totally ruined compared to Part I. I don’t know what happened to the director of naughty dog, this game does not deserve the seven years’ waiting by the Part I’s fan.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
