We need to stop this vile threat. The pay to win mechanic means if you dont fork out hundreds of dollars ontop of this $60 purchase price, you are going to be stomped by moma's credit card.
This is an buggy pay2win free2play game, with all of the worst free2play tactics, at a premium price tag.

Sorry Dice, EA ruined your work. EA, if you like to unlock better grade, you can always buy a reviewer box. For only 4,99$ you might roll even 10/10! However, of course such a good grade is legendary tier, and drops very seldom, but don't give up and keep trying!

i pretty much boycotted EA after battlefield 3. the only thing i learn more day by day is how i right i was from the get-go. anything under that publisher turns to garbage and that's what battlefront 2 is. don't buy this game, or for that matter any game with EA's logo on it.

This game is beautiful. It sounds amazing and it's pretty fun to play.

Sometimes when I stay up too late at night and my mom's asleep, I'll get that old black beach towel and I'll wear it like a cape and pretend that I am Lord Vader. And then no one is laughing at me in the lunch room anymore. Because if Scott and Todd want to shoot spit balls at me I will use the force to shoot them

Because if Scott and Todd want to shoot spit balls at me I will use the force to shoot them back at them and they will go up there nostrils and they will be the fools for sure then.

Then I will do that neck pinch thing that Vader did in Episode IV and I will have my vengeance and no one will be calling me, "Nancy Pants" anymore.

I love the game the graphics and sound i wonderfull really feels like star wars.
I dont like the grinding part takes to long to unlock stuff.
And its Bs that you buy a full game and you get lootcrates rather have the season pass back and that was a **** option also. Im even more oldschool in the fact that when i buy a game i want to OWN everything in the game. I pay for a full game

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Right off the bat I noticed a better and more responsive UI on the title screen and menu screens. Something about Battlefront I just never felt like it was reacting to me or my button clicks. Currently I have only played the Single Player campaign, but based on the Beta Multiplayer looks like more Battlefront.

As for Single Player I felt the set piece cinematics, actor performances and in game visuals were good. Playing on an original Xbox One, there's probably a better graphical result for in engine cut scenes on PC or when a 4K patch comes out for the Xbox One X. The "First Act" feels stronger and more coherent than the remainder of the game. I am excited to be an Imperial Agent and working on a super secret last will mission of the Emperor. However, in what is the first of many quick switches, that doesn't seem to be what we get to play. We never find out what the Emperor's mission is...or even what becomes of it. Perhaps it will become clear in the story DLC to release in December.

After a single play through I do feel like i missed something. Certain character motivations and turning points seem to be very on the spot and out of character. Prior to playing I had read the prequel novel associated with the game and it does flesh out character aspects and passions more in depth but does not give credence to the snap decisions many of the hardcore Imperial characters make in the game. It almost feel like there should be a couple extra stand alone scenes depicting inner turmoil for these characters before their antithesis moments. There is also a romantic element that seems to come out of nowhere-even if you read the novel. The one side character you won't have trouble figuring out motivations for is Shriv; your Duros comic relief. Always with a snide comment or sarcastic retort, he lightens the mood and feels very aware of the things I was not picking up on. Shriv steals whatever scene he's in.

The "ending" is an attempt to tie in to the new film series and is most likely why there is a story DLC slated for December, which is when Episode 8 releases. There is even a scene where Luke takes a "compass" that we have never scene before that is most likely a teaser to Ep. 8. There is also a reference to specifics of the Emperor's plan-first time since starting the game-and it is a little frustrating again because it is obviously apart of the new trilogy plot line.

I'm sure people will want to know about the "EEEeeeevil" micro-transactions that "bog" down multiplayer. At this moment I have no experience with micro-transactions or multiplayer. I suppose I should note that I purchased the Ultimate Edition-which I guess gives me a **** ton of stuff...My Kylo Ren is already level 10 but I don't know how he got there. I feel the MTX issue has been hyberbole-ed to death. I personally don't plan to spend extra on them-that's a choice that means more than whining, baby crying on the internet or Reddit.

Basically its an Online Casino pretending to be an multiplayer shooter game. Its RNG on RNG on RNG for spending real money in exchange for a chance to pwn every living being at this match. If you enjoy this game mechanic - you're masochist.

Unbelievable. EA has done it again. Once again ruining a potentially fantastic game with greedy marketing tactics. Not only is $60+ title heavily inclusive of microtransactions, but the game is also RIDDLED with bugs and glitches. SWBF2 isn't worth its microtransactions, isn't worth its season pass, heck, it isn't even worth its $60 price tag in its current state. Another disappointment.

Greed in the form of money grabbing micro-transactions must be stopped. George Orwell said the people have the power if they only knew to stand together! Well now we can in a modern age of communication. I hope this is only the first stand of many to keep gaming affordable, enjoyable and accessible to all ages.

    Microtransations in 60$ game, pathetic.
    - Preorder bonuses
    - Tiered pricing (Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Deluxe Gold Edition)
    - Freemium progression system
    - Gambling System (aka Lootboxes)
    - Bad Campaign
    - Bad Multiplayer due to pay2win business model
    - Bad PR

Micro-transactions and loot boxes have to disappear. They're are ruining the games industry.
The retail price needs to be enough for the experience.
EA is the shame of the industry EDIT: They've remove the microtransactions apparently 'temporarily'.

Im going to keep this short and sweet. Filth, scummy, greedy, putrid tactics like this pay to win progression, wall grind loot box gambling system, micro transactions taken from a free to play phone game ideology has absolutely no place in a paid $60-$100 game. None. Period. This alone as tainted what was otherwise the possibility of a good game. Do not support this. Do not buy thisIm going to keep this short and sweet. If you havent heard, this game has made history thanks to the evil greedy publishing company known as EA. It has the most down voted comments ever in reddit history. It has the lowest user score ever in meta critic history. It also has such a high amount of disgust and push back from the video gaming community that EA had to "temporarily remove" the microtransactions from the game. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Do not think that "oh great!, they removed it now I can go buy the game!" Its a trap! I cant even comment or review the rest of the game because this has completely overshadowed the actual game. We as gamers cannot let this pass. This free to play mentality in a paid game has no business in here period. Expand

The only reason EA has removed micro transactions (for now) is because they are currently being investigated by the Belgian gambling commission. They are trying to exploit us, and our kids for profit... they are bullies and by buying this game you are propagating the avaricious abuse of normal people who just want to play games

Due to micro transactions the game is most likely the first game you can not reasonably finish since the atari very sad had so much potential. Being they will never truely fix it as it is EA, it will never be worth it.

EA trying to rip off all of us, mostly schoolgoing kids, stop aquiring every game developer out there which all need to be earned back for the investors at costs of the gamers.

Well, I bought my last EA published title in 2011 and that won't change anytime soon.

The decision from EA to have a game based around loot boxes and making it so that you must spend money in order to have an advantage against other players is disgusting.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
