    First I have to praise the game for being amazing graphics, story and gameplay in the single player story.

    Multiplayer is an improvement from the original game, lots of modes unlockable characters, eras and levels. The gunplay feels just like it should for the movies and the amount of content is superb.     Lootboxes are gambling.

    The developers said in a reddit AMA that getting currency through the single player Arcade version is manipulative but buying currency is ok.

    Paying for power is what loot boxes in this game are.

    That is the definition of pay to win.

    It's a consumer market. The product has "features" consumers don't want. This affects sales which affects market shares. This is exactly how a free market works. Product quality was shared among the market. EA failed not the consumer.

    The multiplayer is there to make EA money while the singleplayer is there to spread the political agenda of the insane feminist groups which have taken over the gaming industry (Ubisoft, EA, Activision) through subversion and threats. So don't buy this even on a sale unless you like the new Star Wars theme of soulless greed.

    I played the test version for a bit and the graphics are great, and the gameplay is fun. However, based on the play to win characteristics, I find it unethical and am therefore giving it a 0.

I know games have been priced at $60 for quite some time now and that’s is why we have seen a major increase in season passes and paid DLC.     Fact this game is about average in gameplay, above average in graphics and sound. But Loot boxes tied directly to progression and a incomplete campaign storyline. As of this writing EA has temporarily removed loot boxes, but said they will return. All these facts make this a no buy game!!!!!!!!!!

Linar and scripted to death, with all the usual flaws, stupid and useless allies, enemies focusing on player ignoring everyone else, when they don’t you can see your allies tanking infinite walker blaster shot. Boring arcade mode. So not for solo. Multiplayer now: classic pewpew party, no strategy or close to none. Grenade spam in choque point, linear maps. Very codExtremely basic solo. Their excuses about the lootbox incitating to play other class is bs, cause in the long term, the time needed to unlock everything rank 4 for each class is so damn high that you have to focus on only one. In the end trading the 40$ season pass/extension (like in the old battlefield days) for a mindless grind or insane amount of money was a **** deal for the player, despite EA trying to persuade us from the opposite. To finish on a good note, the environment and atmosphere are very well done and a joy to look at when you have te time to between 2 respawn. 7 for the atmosphere; -2 for **** single player; +0 for average cod style multi; -9000 for the 4000 hours to unlock everything; -1000000 for the random lootbox leveling. 0 in the end. Without this progression issue that could be an average game to pick on sale and have fun a few hours with.     What I will comment on is the campaign which is actually what has me fired up. It is an example of completely deceitful marketing. Star Wars has not had such a portrayal in a game since the 1990's with TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele character. Instead what do we get? We get someone who defects less than halfway through the campaign and we spend the majority of the time doing a tired repeat of the old "Imperial repents and turns Rebel". That story has been done to death in other forms in the Star Wars franchise!

    We could have had a chance to see an Imperial struggling in the wake of the Rebellion's victory and the disintegration of the Empire, and maybe we could have gained some insight into how the First Order formed. We could have had a character winning battles even though the larger war is still lost.
    We didn't need a total Imperial fanatic, acting like the stereotyped 2-dimensional villain. TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele was an Imperial loyalist but was not blind to the faults of the Empire. He just ultimately thought that for all its faults it was still better than the alternative. In more recent stuff, we have the character Rae Sloane (which is actually referenced in the campaign), but Sloane actually stays loyal even though she disagreed with the Emperor's scorched earth plan (i.e. Operation Cinder), which is pretty clearly based off Hitler's "Nero Decree". We could have had a nuanced Imperial character. Instead we get the same juvenile depictions as if no sane non-fanatical person could possibly support the Empire, and the only "good Imperial" is a defector.

    Ultimately though I am angry because we were LIED to and given a bait and switch. We were told it would be an Imperial campaign to show the Imperai POV and to have some "Imperial heroes". Instead we got a Rebel campaign, which couldn't even keep its Imperial disguise on for very long.    … Expand

    This game is the final straw for me. There are so few game companies left that are willing to release a full game anymore. EA is not one of them obviously.

    We need to stop buying these games with loot boxes and season passes on day 1. It needs to stop here.

    Yes, it looks fantastic, and I am sure that some gameplay elements rock. However, for the future of gaming it is important to make a point: We will not accept what EA is doing. Every 60$ more on EA profit will make them continue this trend. Please, stop it.

    It’s a full price game but they have a f2p model embedded.

    You can’t progress your skills / weapons / characters without gambling.

    To get coins to gamble you just have to play... there is no reward for performing well.

    Atrocious. Wait and buy it second hand in order to get your Star Wars fix and not rewarding EA for their greed.

    The game looks and sounds amazing, the gameplay is fun, everything we've asked for from the previous game is here... and they've ruined it with microtransactions. Don't buy this game, it's not worth the money they ask for it. The very idea of having loot boxes forces me to recommend this game at only one price point: free. At this point, I'll pick the game when it's free or I'll buy it after ALL the microtransactions will be removed. You should do that as well.

    Sorry, I'm not willing to spend 5k+ hours or $2300 for the full content of a game. This isn't train simulator 2015 ffs. It's really quite sad, as i'm an avid Star Wars fan and would LOVE to give this game all the praise that the star wars universe deserves. But not here, not like this.

    I had purchased this game having the highest of hopes since my childhood was filled with great memories of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2, however this game brings the series to a whole new low.     Absolutely trash. This isn't a game, it's an illegal gambling system that goes through enough loopholes just to slip past regulations in the U.S. This is ridiculous, and I think that a boycott is in order, and that Congress needs to investigate this matter. Games like Battlefront are literally encouraging kids (and adults) to gamble. Stay far away.

    I so wanted to like this game, but this StarWars horse broke it's legs before it was even out of the gate.

This game is the embodiment of corporate greed and shows the lack of respect EA has for its consumers. The sad part is this is a fun game, but it's set up to where you can't enjoy it. It's disappointing the video game industry has embraced the "pay to win" model.

    Battlefront 2 is an even bigger let down than the 1st game and has in no way improved. The game looks pretty but it's a free to play model disguised as a AAA title. To make matters worse EA exposed them selves as the selfish frauds they are when making an insulting post claiming pay to win transaction were in the game but they made the epic hero's so hard to get to give players a sense of achievement when they finally unlocked them. It's been worked out it would take around 6000 hours to unlock all the content behind paywalls by playing the game.

    Battlefront is the epitome of everything wrong with modern gaming. They have slyly appealed a game to Starwars fans with the full intention of ripping them off.

The micro-transactions that are the bedrock of this game would be shameful in a free to play mobile game. Battlefront 2 was created in a way to take exorbitant amounts of time to unlock anything. Originally EA wanted it to take forty hours of multiplayer game play to unlock Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. That's eighty hours for both of them. All progression is based around loot boxes, ever time you want to upgrade your character it comes down to chance. EA is hoping that after the two loot boxes you open after tens of hours of game play and still not getting what you want, you will be more likely to break down and spend more money to get what you want. The arcade mode, which is an offline component of the multiplayer will not allow you to earn anymore credits towards unlocking loot boxes after two matches. Every design about this game is greedy and anti consumer. Even with EA backpedaling, they are only temporarily disabling the micro-transactions so more people will buy the game. Then when things calm down they will reinstate them like nothing happened. This game is terrible for the gaming industry, it represents everything that can be done to take as much power away from the player in an effort to get you to spend more money to get some power back. If you want game publishers to stop trying to suck you dry for every cent you have do not buy this game. Battlefront 2 is not fun, and it's infuriating that so many things get in the way of you actually enjoying any part of what could of been a fun game.… Expand

When you scam someone with let's say the promise of getting a really nice car, I don't give a flying **** if the car is good or not. I give a **** that I'm being scammed to get the promised thing, whose real price is hidden behind a fake one. Imagine you're buying a car for 4000$, and then you realise the engine's busted, the tires are dead, and the exhaust is about to blow. Then the seller says "well, you gotta repair it son, it'll make you feel real good when you'll have repaired it youself, you'll feel committed to it." You'd call him a scammer, call the cops and have him arrested for false advertisement.

    Now when a game company, I'm sorry i meant Hell's Embassy on Earth, aka EA Games, sells you a full priced game, then says "okay son, you gotta play 40 hours of the game to get the full content you paid for, it'll make you feel real committed to it", what do you do? You can't call the cops, the system is rigged.

    But at least you can do something: tell everyone that EA is scammers and thieves, and tell them to NEVER EVER buy from them again. I don't condone piracy, being a game dev myself, but there is no way in hell a company like EA is ever getting a penny from me again.     This game is an insult to modern gaming and promises. The game has promise, and at times is fun, however, a micro transactions are disgusting. To unlock iconic characters such as Darth Vader, you must pay a hefty price, or grind for many hours. I am disgusted by EA and their gambling system.

    The campaign is ok but the multiplayer is as good as any other free to play, pay to win game, but only this one cost at least $60, i can recomend the campaign for 20 but the multiplayer should had been free if they were going to go with these mobile game practices, so do not buy this game nor any other ea game until they back off

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
