    I made an account to rate this game. EA has disgusting practices and is finally paying the price for it. Forcing players to play over 4,000 hours to unlock everything. Your choice to drop it by 75% and finally remove micro-transactions, for now, is not enough for me to buy this game. If not for the canceled pre-orders losing you money, you wouldn't have changed a damn thing. SCREW YOU EA.

    The game looks visually stunning and the audio is great, I also give props to the dev for including a campaign this time around (although I beat it in 2 days at around 5.5 hrs) but that’s pretty much it for the pro’s as there isn’t much for offline content at all.

It's bad enough the game has to have a bland campaign and lots of bugs, but EA had the nuts to tie almost every unlock in multiplayer to a micro gambling system ripped straight out of a f2p mobile game.     If a free-to-play model is being used, the core game should be free. Triple-A games are moving away from being "games of skill" to being "games of chance" or "pay to win". This is sad.

You know what is working with zero bugs since the early access? all the gazillion screens and loot box animations and cards customizations.     There was no sense of accomplishment when they made this game. Taking one of the greatest online multiplayer games and ruining the name by giving it the same title for the remake is deplorable. They are money hungry and greedy and this game showcases that.

    So, to the review - Battlefront 2 is an amazing game, beautifully crafted and silky smooth, Dice did a great job crafting the game, only for EA to come along and smash it all to pieces with a filthy and downright evil Pay 2 Win system, we all knew it was P2W since loot boxes was announced, whilst it's true...it isn't as '''bad''' as it was, but it is still fairly bad and whales still have a huge advantage over regular players, no matter what rank they currently are, heck the ranks themselves don't really serve that much purpose since you can power level through to 20 within a day or so if you're a whale.

    It's unfortunately far too easy to talk about the negatives, which is pretty much the progression and the p2w system, it literally wrecks the multiplayer aspects of the game entirely, we ALL knew this was going to happen, EA must have realized the backlash would be intense but honestly, in all honesty do they really care? They already have your money, people have already pre-ordered and the whales are already throwing down serious money - the controversies, if anything are not going to change anything for this game, which was build from the ground up around loot boxes and a pay 2 win system, dice themselves knew this but obviously powerless to contradict their EA overlords.

    The saddest part in all this, Battlefront 2 (2017) at it's core, IS a better game than the original if it was released without any loot boxes or micro-transactions, dice learned a lot from the previous battlefront, which was a great looking, great playing but ultimately repetitive and shallow game.

    This is clearly a disaster for EA, let's hope that corporate and the investors realize that excessive monetization just isn't going to work for them, they need to go back to their roots and look where everything went wrong and do something about it, otherwise EA will continue to be the worst publisher in the world.    … Expand

    Dont buy it, dont bother with it. The game is a unbalanced pile of crap that is purely designed to force players to spend money on the micro-transactions (when active again). Those who have during the games initial release will be nearly unstoppable against newer players.

The graphics are good, but that's it, the campaign is terrible, the multiplayer gets boring really fast, and get ready to die 24/7 unless you want to spend some major $$ on it..

If they're going to make it impossible for me to unlock everything within a couple of months after paying full price for it then it's a deal breaker for me. I only get to play on average around 5 hours a week on video games. Half of that time I am playing with my wife. After being completely confused by actual criticism since it is a Star Wars game and we all know that everything sells well as long as it is called SW, EA came up with the excuse that it is justified to grind for more than 40 hours to unlock a hero (unless you pay for them of course). Keep in mind that this does not include other unlocks like guns, attachments or upgrades for your class or ship. It will take you much longer if you want to have a balanced experience. Battlefront 1 was a mediocre game. It's biggest flaw was that it was too similar to other games and had nothing particularly interesting about it. Battlefront 2 however is just a pathetic excuse to take money from gullible people. The barely improved gameplay can't save the game. This game needs to be condemned by all people who'd consider themselves gamers. Need for Speed Payback received terrible reviews for doing the same things.     This is only because of people buying incomplete games and paying a lot of extra money for things that should be included on first place. Look at recent games, Destiny 2, Shadow of War... we allowed companies to do this, and if we don't stop them now it will be part of almost every game.

    The campaign is an addition that should have been in the last Battlefront but Dice announced that gamers dont want a campaign anymore but this was the biggest complaint to Dice after Battlefront was released. It is great it has now been added even if it is not brilliant and a little short.
    Online has been great in regards to adding a lot of new modes but there is not many and some faves from Battlefront are missing. Online though has been ruined by the loot box progression system and greed. In a way we should thank them for this as this will lead to regulations on games after this blatant act of thievery.

    A new progression has since been put in place. This should have been released this way. But its too little too late. There are too few online modes and along with releasing a measly amount of content since launch this game is long dead. Maybe they will make ammends with future dlc but I wouldnt hold my breath.

    Season 2 has rolled out and to the entire communitys dismay it is a Solo season. Now I was not too concerned about Clone Wars content I just wanted CONTENT! Part 1 of season 2 was awful. HVV teams cut in half, laughable new mode, SA is now in arcade, nothing ground breaking here and a new map, Jabbas Palace so no new contnent here either. Skins that cost upto 70,000 credits have been added, yes thats seventy thousand credits which is aimed at getting you to cough up the cash. Instead of being improved BF2 is getting worse and a lot of good content is required to save it.

    I don't like online multiplayer games so that leaves me with the single player gameplay here. Because of that, I'm sorry, but paying $60 for 5 hours of gameplay is outrages. Glitches constantly, stuck in walls, and the promise of playing on the bad guys side was only for the first little bit of the game. Boring. Just boring.

    I spent $80 for a star gambling simulator where kids can be better than me not because of skill but because of luck or because they sunk some money in the game. Refunded immediately, will not be coming back until there is a loot crate overhaul.

    Good, not great. The game still lacks a ton of single player content, all the good game modes are online so if you don't play online or are too poor to pay for a subscription (like me) it's fun for a short amount of time, the maps are small in SP and the Campaign is as predictable as predicting the next Transformers movie.

The reason for the massive difference in critic reviews and user reviews are because critics are rating the gameplay, which is quite good, while users are rating the disgusting microtransactions. That said, I am a user and I want to make sure that EA and any other company that is thinking of pulling anything like this knows that I won't stand for it. 0/10

    The only good thing is that i still can play Battlefront 1. Micro-transaction thing stole every fun part from this game. It's hard to play a game when you know you probably won't live enough long to finish game completely. It's somewhat acceptable on mobile games, which are free2play with extremely repetitive gameplay.
    So sad, so sad.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
