Slow and clunky controls, uninspired level design and unfair difficult spikes make this game a title you're better off skipping, even as a hardcore Megaman fan. Treat yourself with some fangames - they're likely better.

This game is a scam, it got a ridiculous amount of funding with nothing to show for it. Poor graphics, and framerate issues despite that, mediocre level design, terrible voice acting. Don't buy it.

The game feels cheap and lazy. The graphics are muddy and ugly with sluggish game play that just isn't fun. With so much money and hype put into this game you have to wonder where it all went cause the end product feel like they cut every corner they could. Keiji Inafune already got to make his mega man with Mega Man X and you would be better off tracking down a copy of that game.

Will never support anything on Kickstarter again after this Farce... After all the delays, the game released is nothing like a 'spiritual successor' to Megaman in terms of gameplay or graphics; only the artstyle is slightly similar, and only because the Inafune was on board were they able to rip that off...
All in all, save your money, and don't buy/support anything unless you get good in

I am crying like an anime fan on prom night after playing this game. Why did I even back this abomination? Deep Silver is on a row with releasing mediocre game after Homefront: The Revolution and Mighty No. 9 joins their lineup. This is not the Mega Man game we want. It is bland and boring. Should have used my money to back Yooka-Laylee or Bloodstrained instead.

It's difficult to believe that 3 years and >$4,000,000 dollars went into funding this game. It doesn't look or play well. This will go down as one of the greatest crowdsource failures/disappointments of all time.

Well, a lot can change over time. I have no idea what happened, but this is not the game that we were promised, this is not a spiritual successor to one of the greatest 2D platformer series of all time. This looks like something

As a Kickstarter backer, my immediate thought is: "Man, all this time & all I want is my money back".

I've never made a game, & I don't have a good sense of what it costs to do so, but it apparently takes more than what they got to make a good one.

Anyone rating this 10 while saying that its not a blockbuster is doing this score a disservice. The budget and indie excuses don't work when Shovel Knight and Shantae excel after being LOWER BUDGET INDIES. This game is a disaster. Worst game ever? No. But it's pretty damn bad. After years and years of waiting, I was trying to get an answer why Mighty No. 9 went through so many delays until they finally arrive right here. It turns out that all the serious hype that they promised me and the rest of diehard fans of the popular Mega Man games.... Two words: Big Mistake.

After a long period, guess what else Mighty No. 9 quickly delayed, again, goddammit it's going to be delayed on the XBOX 360. Seriously? This is not going to be good to be this pile of turd than its underwhelming poor sales and bad timing to promote the game. Deep Silver (Square Enix's parent company) tried everything they can, but just like Homefront: The Revolution, nothing work. So I could imagine what it feels like Mighty No. 9 should've been the passion project experience but like a parody of itself. Much like the time when Bugsy just crapped the 90s than a bowl of cat litter.

Mighty No. 9, to me, is an unfinished schlock of an less inspired Mega Man game. The loading times are just terrible spending a few short hours burying my hole to watch a creepy linage of a Fox Kids cartoon. The graphics are in more form a step down to what other platforming titles like Ratchet and Clank still brings me back great memories why I owned a beloved console called the PS2. And last but not least, how wrong is the awkward voice acting, insecure cutscenes, and the level designs are just too damn ridiculous. And aw, you may be thinking that its designs are a lot worse than Sonic The Hedgehog's 3D outing, right? Right, well almost. But as bad as this was, it's a shame that Inafume promised to be his baby but with little less flair despite the roller-coaster laundry lists of controversies surrounding the game and its (alleged) successfull Kickstater campaign.

Bottom line is don't spend too time playing this game otherwise it'll just be a hard time to open its damaged wounds and not recovering from its swollen memory. This is perhaps now I'm calling Mighty No. 9 as one of the most overhyped games ever. Nothing like an unfinished game on a sour note. I wonder why someone from their website actually said with the words "Prepare the Mighty!" I wonder who come up with that idea, Lou Ferrango from Hercules? Nah, that was way off. I'm sorry. So don't spend your $60.00 at Gamestop cause this will be the last time I ever hear from a broken game again.

Seems to be the fashionable thing to dogpile this game and rip it a new one. Especially as a backer. And as it is, it's mostly deserved.

Gameplay wise, it's okay. But I don't care for how much it gears itself to pander to speedrunner/leaderboard culture. You have to dash through enemies to actually kill them. It creates a sense of pressure to get through the stage fast, but then you

Gameplay wise, it's okay. But I don't care for how much it gears itself to pander to speedrunner/leaderboard culture. You have to dash through enemies to actually kill them. It creates a sense of pressure to get through the stage fast, but then you deal with lots of level hazards, and odd design choices like pits which don't indicate you're supposed to do down them. So you're being cautious while trying to hurry through.

I'd be more forgiving of the challenges the game offered if certain things didn't have such sloppy design. For example, in one level, there's a turbine half an inch off the ground that you're supposed to dash under. In the demo, it was a problem that I thought they'd fix. But they kept it, and just added a hint. But for something that's all about speeding along, it really grinds the pace to a halt trying to figure out the right distance to stand from when dashing through.

Also, with the dashing through enemies to kill them, you have to for bosses, and if you don't in enough time, their health regenerates.

Visually, it's not as ugly as most of the screenshots have shown. A lot of parts are, but some small segments show promise... But then the frame rate randomly drops every once in a while.

The dialogue is pretty bad, like 90s Mega Man cartoon bad. Again, not a game killer, but there's quite a bit of it throughout the levels, so it's mildly annoying.

It doesn't deserve all the piss it's been getting flooded on it. I'd give it a 5/10. But with the combination of how poorly handled its development and kickstarter campaign were, as well as knowing it's supposed to be filling the boots of Mega Man which have been left empty for a while, this is hard to get behind. But hey, it's better than nothing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. this game would receive a 4.5 it's bad, BUT, this is a FOUR BILLION GAME and this shows how much this game is bad.
The system for changing weapons is horrible.
Level design is Bad and not fun.
The dash system is not good, some times you go through enemies, some times you don't, especially in bosses.
And do I have to say about the graphics?
Look at the prototype they had in one week showing of and saying how good they are at making games, and look at this, 3 years later.
When a game have a postponement we expect that to bee for a good cause and the game be better then it was to be.
The thing is, that this didn't happen with this game, this only prove how bad they were at making this game.
I really wanted to like this game, but I cant

What a travesty. Alright, it had redeeming qualities, but it was really an awful game with bad level design and downgraded graphics, yeah it will certainly not be remembered as a good game by many, thankfully.

The worst about this game, is that it looked so great, but unfortunately it came out as unfinished with poor controls and mediocre level design.

It's so pervasively dull. Where other prominent throwbacks have recaptured the beating heart of the games that inspired them, Mighty No. 9’s familiar pieces are thrown together without a driving vision. Hopefully the super fighting robot’s next successor is more worthy.
