    Unbelievably horrid. EA just doesn’t care anymore. You can tell because every Madden is just the same as last years. Madden NFL 21 is no exception. Where do I even start with this one? The graphics couldn’t pass for a PS2 game, it is glitchy beyond belief, the ratings are horribly inaccurate, Face of the Franchise’s voice acting and writing are laughable, and the games emulation ofUnbelievably horrid. EA just doesn’t care anymore. You can tell because every Madden is just the same as last years. Madden NFL 21 is no exception. Where do I even start with this one? The graphics couldn’t pass for a PS2 game, it is glitchy beyond belief, the ratings are horribly inaccurate, Face of the Franchise’s voice acting and writing are laughable, and the games emulation of football is insanely unrealistic. EA has just given up at this point. There are better Madden games on the GameCube and PS2 than this one on the PS5! This game is not worth a penny. There are better fan games that emulate football! On mobile devices! Retro bowl is a retro-style game and is much more enjoyable and realistic than madden. And it’s free on your phone! Now that they’ve extended the exclusive right deal with the NFL, they’ll continue scamming millions of people making the same $60 piece of Garbage they do every year. I bought this game on a discount for $20 and I feel robbed. I’m never giving a penny to EA until they bother putting even the slightest bit of effort into the game.… Expand

The ONLY Simulation NFL game cannot even simulate the NFL. While I do enjoy the minor gameplay tweaks and presentation changes, It is not enough to warrant a single point in the score.     At this point the NFL License to EA can't be more valuable than making a good football game. NFL, stop this already! Let anyone compete to make an NFL game. There's no competition, which makes this game more awful every year.

    Everything wrong with modern gaming, recycled/reused assets (models, animations, cut scenes, etc) next to no improvements compared to older iterations + constant removal of options and features, complete lack of polish, and on top of that, predatory and shameless micro transactions.

    I’m not sure why I keep buying this... Please just make a deep franchise mode. I really dislike MUT and also on FIFA I don’t play ultimate team. I tried out face of the franchise which I thought was cool until I couldn’t change the difficulty and every single game was on rookie until I was drafted... so if I’m throwing 10 TDs a game why would I get benched in college? And then you retire and after all your hard work theres just a note that pops up saying 'cool dude' and then it exits you out. In this years new and improved version, you'll get to play two games a year and surpass Tom Bradys legacy after answering a couple interview questions. Franchise mode is the same. Animations for games are the same. The new intros show highlights of the game before its even played because im not sure they know how football works. Franchise mode is exactly the same except worse with all the stupid glitches. It really looks like nothing else is new in this game. They spent the year making the screen blue. How dope. Im overwhelmed with how how bad it is. I could go on about everything else but just listen to everyone else. Everything bad is true. I don't want to waste my breathe anymore on EA.… Expand

Franchise mode is still the exact same and somehow face of the franchise gets worse each year! I mean the HeartBreak kids?? The story is absolutely terrible and nothing you do matters. It's as if a 80 year old man who has no since of the current culture trends wrote this story!!! Madden only invests it time into Madden ultimate team because it's the biggest money Maker...     This game is glitchy, almost unplayable and most importantly just not fun. The animations are wonky and making some plays hard to read. It's truly baffles me people actually pay full price (or more!) for this trash. I'm so glad I played this as a demo with a friend and didn't have to feel the deep regret of being swindled by purchasing this dumpster fire.

I've been watching football all my life and i am in crushing debt so i had to sell by child left kidney to buy this game .Now after I've played this game. I'm stuck with a bad game, still in crushing debt and my son died of kidney failure due to the fact that he only hadbad game NFL please cut ties with ea . they don't do the sport justice. i am 48 yeas old and in the state of Oklahoma.     Don't get confused by the cosmetic changes they added this year. The yard is nice concept with cool customization but the base fundamentals of the game are still broken. Players still go through each other, blockers get stuck on top one another, AI is terrible, franchise mode is LITERALLY the same.     Franchise mode is an exact copy and paste from Madden 20. All they did was change the menu color. All the work that should have been done on Madden’s most beloved mode was used on The Yard.

    The Yard is basically what the gameplay was made for since Madden is an arcade style game, not an actual simulation football game. It was a game mode literally nobody asked for. And you guessed it,    Franchise mode is an exact copy and paste from Madden 20. All they did was change the menu color. All the work that should have been done on Madden’s most beloved mode was used on The Yard.

    The Yard is basically what the gameplay was made for since Madden is an arcade style game, not an actual simulation football game. It was a game mode literally nobody asked for. And you guessed it, more micro transactions! They finally added mouth pieces after 10 years but you can only get them in The Yard. The blocking is still broken. Lead blocking is joke, the FB or pulling lineman will run right passed a LB and watch you get destroyed as he continues up field to block the safety after you already got stuffed. Pass trajectories are still god awful, touch passes don’t exist. The game is still HEAVILY animation dependent which sucks. It’s the reason you get sucked into blockers and get weird unrealistic stops at the 1 yard line instead of scoring. The announcers are still bad. They don’t follow what’s happening on the field very well and sometimes just flat out make no sense.     As long as Madden uses the Frostbite engine I don’t think the gameplay will ever actually get better. The same issues we’ve had for a decade still exist. It’s very disheartening at this point. If you were planning on getting Madden 21 I’d wait and see what it looks like on next gen consoles if you can afford it. If not just download the latest rosters from Madden share on Madden 20 and enjoy. This is just EA ripping off customers by making no changes to their garbage game again. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL MAKE CHANGES IS IF IT HURTS THE COMPANY FINANCIALLY!

The surprising thing to me is they actually didn't even upgrade ultimate team.
    But what ea did go away and do all year is spend time creating a buggy and lifeless mode called the yard which just about sums up the fact that they manage to con the nfl into thinking they create a simulation football game whilst being about as realistic as stevie wonder driving an a aeroplane.
    Also what Ea in all there wisdom have done have made the word Moore a profanity. Which to be honest really is a bummer because I used to enjoy calling all my friends moores but I guess we have to move with the times and stop people saying such heinous words.
    I rate this a 0 because it is completely unacceptable that a business the size of ea continues every year to put out an incomplete unrealistic piece off garbage. The writing is surelu on the wall for ea. Actually improve your game and stop allowing kids to gamble.

    In conclusion if you want an unrealistic buggy mess this game is for you. If you want to watch your o line miss easy blocks and then as your run further down field watch your wrs run away from blocking whilst just as your about to get a touchdown you get locked in an animation and are teleportrd into a defenders arm then this game is perfect for you.
    If you want a game that is not based off of skill but how badly you can cheese the game this is perfect. Need a touchdown te attack or slants will do fine because its unstobbbale maybe hb stretch cause there is no counterbalance. This game would be perfect if it was celebrating the achievements of what severely handicapped people can do when asked to make a game but unfortunately it is not it is made by one of the biggest company's in the world.

I could write a book detailing EA's failings when it comes to madden, but I believe the following sentence is all you need to know about how far madden has fallen and why this game deserves a 0/10.

    In the only nfl sim football game on the market (due to shady, anti-consumer, anti-competition business practices), the game has only a single sim game mode, EA added 0 new features to that mode, while simultaneously focusing most of their resources on adding ANOTHER arcade game mode (filled with micro-transactions designed to manipulate and prey on the psychology of children of course) which also became the main selling point for the game. That my friends, is some Twilight Zone levels of absurdity.

    Oh and i forgot to mention, they added the worst career mode in the history of sports video games with a story that, quite literally, might be the most poorly written piece of fiction in the entire history of mankind. Which sounds like an exaggeration, but trust me, it isn't. For 2k fans, that one career mode with Frequency Vibrations (I nearly pass out from cringe every time I hear that name) looks like The Iliad compared to the story in madden 21's career mode.    … Expand

    This is just an awful game. The game system wont make a difference. If you're main mode is franchise, the game offers nothing to you. Play madden 20 and download the updated roster. The game just oozes "We're lazy and don't care."

    This game currently has a 1.1 user score as I’m writing this review and that score is still way to high tbh. This is a 0/10 at best. Basically Madden 20.5 with the addition of a bad game mode called the yard. They refuse to listen to their fans and every time we beg for a better game, they throw s**t in our faces. I’ve never seen a game company treat their customers so poorly.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
