    If you weren't paying attention to the font and color scheme you could put in madden 20 and not realize you weren't playing Madden 21. There is no upgrade or change to franchise mode in a game that tries to hold onto being the simulation go to for football. This is an absolute robbery and a complete slap in the face of loyal madden fans.

    this is officially the worst madden I have ever played. Dollar Cover 1 robber press - curl flat your SS and curl flat your blitzing LB. On offense run gun bunch mesh post or some sort of crossing route combination. That's the extent of what you will be doing. I buy madden every year for 20 years and I am so fed up. The gameplay is incredibly glitchy, the menu is stiil laggy and slowthis is officially the worst madden I have ever played.     I have played madden for 20 years. This is by far the worst madden i have ever played. The game freezes it's frame rate on nearly every field goal to the point where i miss. Did they not test the game prior to launching it? They should have just kept everything from madden 20 and just update the rosters. They need to patch it up real quick.

    Spent $100 on a glorified title update, the yard is the only thing they added and it’s just another way for them to get micro transactions, face of the franchise is a rip off. You only play 3 or 4 games a season, Franchise mode is untouched. they need to give up the sim rights so 2k can go back to making simulation games

    Our expectations were low. But holy f***. EA some how found away to make a $60 dollar that made the game even more broken. If you want blue menus just play Madden 16. It's the same game.

MUT is the usual **** pay to win, the gameplay is thrash, there are no improvements to to franchise mode, Face of the Franchise is the corniest story ever and is ridiculously easy, and the yard is a buggy mess. Do not waste $60 on this game like I did. #FixMaddenFranchise

Not to mention the RB who cant figure out who to block either. Next would be the second level blocking.. I can't tell you how many times a OL, TE, WR, etc. will not block the guy they are supposed to at the first level but, rather choose to go to the second level only to have a hit or miss on if they actually make contact with a defender ( typically they just swoop on by or clip ) I have about 4000 more characters that I could honestly fill up in regards to just gameplay and franchise alone but, I think those will get the point across.. no need to dive into the QB mechanics, CBs catching better and high pointing balls better, illogical turns when it comes to multiple things but, especially so in route running to the outside of the field, etc. Now, EA can YOU get the point? It's been years of these same complaints and yet NOTHING is done.. I'll end this with the simple fact that fans of simulation football are BEGGING for a different company to produce a football game.     I feel like a 60-100$ roster update is a little much. Idk just me maybe. They have kept the same game over the years and tried to keep it all in one piece as the tech starts to get old but it is very much showing.

The amount of animations in this game is absolutely absurd. They use the frostbite engine which is specially designed for first person shooter games not football games or sports games. Absolutely wretched, game-breaking bugs riddle the gameplay, and the new "features" they've introduced such as Face of the Franchise are so half-baked you'd wonder how much time they really spent on them. Not to mention the dozens of presentation flaws this game has. I'll just list a few: Demarious Randall in a Packer'sI'm astounded at the fact this game was released in such a poor state. Absolutely wretched, game-breaking bugs riddle the gameplay, and the new "features" they've introduced such as Face of the Franchise are so half-baked you'd wonder how much time they really spent on them. Not to mention the dozens of presentation flaws this game has. I'll just list a few: Demarious Randall in a Packer's uniform on a loading screen (he hasn't been on the Packers since 2017), loading screens having incorrect player information (they literally copy-pasted the same loading screens from last year, so one screen says Aaron Donald is "only 23" when he's now 24), gameplay devs saying they removed all references to the "Redskins" team name, yet in the very first game screen you load into, you can select "Redskins" as your favorite team.

    On top of that, the new Face of the Franchise mode advertising your ability to play as either a WR, QB, or RB, yet you're forced into playing QB until the near end of your college career, so many story plots are forced and don't make any logical sense. For example, I put up 9 passing TD's in a college game, won the CFB national championship, but was STILL benched for a QB with clear health risks. Why even include a "story" mode if your play and choices barely make a difference at all to story outcome? It's so lazy.

    I really don't even know why we expected anything more. Unfortunately, we will have to suffer through another long few years of EA having exclusive NFL "simulation" (laughable) video game licensing.

    EA Tiburon as a studio needs to be completely cleaned out with a quality team that understands how to create a Sports game.

    TL;DR: Do not spend any more than $5 on this game. If you already own Madden 20, don't spend any money on this game. Wait for the inevitable sale in a few months when this game doesn't quite sell as many copies as they expected.    … Expand

Religiously I play it every year. Have even been running and part of many connected online franchises and this game has been basically the same since M16. Its a **** joke.     NFL 2K5 has a better experience for players and it is from 2005. Madden has always neglected Franchise mode but this year it is really horrific. The game has no fun factor since it was just a big roster update. This will be the last madden i buy until franchise is improved.

Idk how they put so much “effort” and then when the game comes out the cover looks like a google doc with some Lamar Jackson pictures from google and logo tags..     They reused pretty much everything from last year. The game did not launch in a good state, constant bugs, crashes, driver issues. Lots of random loading screens for no reason, terrible animations, just an overall awful game. Buy the EA Pass and test the game if you really think you want it. Don't give them any money. Shame on the NFL for allowing this to continue.

    The game isn’t even finished franchise mode is just a patch they even messed up mut which I thought was impossible. There are way to many glitches in the game. This game is a worse dlc to Madden 20. If the whole franchise team worked on rise to fame that is a big disappointment they figured a way to mess that up

    My opinion is pretty much what everybody else is saying. I grew up with the older Madden's like '08 and I could not be more disappointed with where the Madden franchise has gone. They gave up on their single player fan base. Ya know, the one that gave them so much success in the beginning! I'm done... done thinking "this is the year". I feel like a pre-2016 Cubs fan.

    Same thing as madden 18,19,20 etc. The devs know what we are constantly disappointed in the game and they joke about it. They have shown that they are incapable of making a decent football game. Just terminate the lease with the NFL and let 2k or another company make a nfl game. EA continues to show that they are the worst gaming publisher on the market.

    This is the new LOW for not only the Madden franchise but EA Sports as a whole. The people are fed up. The game is broken it feels "wrong". It is unequivocally wrong to call this a football simulation. Please NFL let other developers try and create an actual game for us to enjoy

    It's a shame when Madden games that came out 10-15 years ago have more complete modes than new ones do. this is a shameless copy paste of last year's game that could have just as easily been released as a patch. Don't be deceived people these are no longer sports games. these are monetization platforms poorly disguised as sports games.

    The fact that they continue to sell the same game for 60 bucks each and every year without improving anything significant on top of those atrocious microtransactions that literally everyone who doesn't have money hates just shows the greediness of the company selling this crap product.

    Here's an idea: How about we sell Star Wars with a few lines of dialogue changed each year and see if it makes money? On top of that, you have to pay an extra 5 bucks to see the lightsaber fight. Oooh, new CGI characters in the background? It's TOTALLY different!

    This is the EA Madden model. This is literally it.

The only reason you want to call a blitz is if hes in a certain look. 99% of the time if you just come out jn a base defense sucg as a vanilla cover 3, or cover 4 drop show 2 you'll lock anything down. Ridiculous 1 play touchdowns from the wild cat formation are still in the game. For offense: you have to have a scrambking QB or else you can't move the ball. The MUT squads mechanics are still absolutely trash for the receivers. I could go on and on and on but this NEEDS to stop. There MUST be open markets and free market competition!… Expand

Then you commit which I do like that they added real colleges so there is that but then Tommy (the starting QB mentioned before) he commits to the same college after switching to WR because he wants revenge for some reason after our player helps him by throwing TDs to him in the last HS game. Anyways he switches back to QB and now it puts us and Tommy in 3rd year of college where you re rotated at QB the story is dumb and there is really no chamge to any decisions you make. At least in Madden 20's career mode if you lose you get picked a little later or something and your friend I guess for Madden 20 a WR from college sends you a message but Tommy basically dies after College because he is one of the top prospects but never gets to the NFL. And then the NFL "Scenarios" they added just makes you skip weeks throughout the season and you have No control. Btw you get drafted to the Bears no matter what which is stupid. In Madden 20 it was like 6 different Teams but nope Madden 21 has 1 you get picked too and thats coming from a bears fan its so stupid. There is no immersion no Fun its stupid and pointless and shallow and there is no effort. As I said before the Gameplay is as bad as ever and MUT Is horrible I get some people love the gamemode but as a person who doesnt wanna spend 100000 bucks on packs that give me golds most of the time I refuse to play MUT. The Only thing I like from this year is the Yard which seems very fun however still lags behind 2k's park mode in My Career which is sad. However on top of that the new Flagship Gamemode making people wanna buy M21 is actually kinda bad due to weird animations and Glitches and again, terrible Gameplay. Player Models apparently mean nothing because everyone is warping through each other no matter what mode you play and overall its just a really bad experience. I miss the real pictures from Madden 12-16 a small thing that made rookies feel like real players and brought immersion and attachment to your team. Still no coaching staff which has been missing since Madden 12. Sim stats are still super unrealistic and despite the cover athlete rushing for over 1000 yards in real life he will not rush for more that 300 yards in a season in your franchise mode. New glitches including being unable to properly use formation subs. Even the new coaches face scans are terrible despite no name players getting actual face scans in the game. No customization for player faces despite this feature being in TWO different game modes this year. Draft class glitches are even worse than last year and every time you edit a player the college changes to N/A. The only positive i can give this mode is regression seems to be much improved and something i am very pleased they fixed. I could forgive the horrible franchise if the gameplay was fun and realistic but its not. DDA is more prevalent than eve. The CPU will not throw a single incompletion unless it is a dropped int from you. CPU Qb ratings do not matter. Backup QB's will play like 99 overalls. It is simply impossible to stop the CPU even with a 99 overall defense. Man coverage, Zone coverage, blitzing nothing works. Offense is just as frustrating because your qb will miss wide open throws with extreme regularity. Terrible animations will launch passes directly to defenders. Defenders will bat a ball and it will fly 30 feet in the air into a defenders hands. Simply put whether you are playing or simulating you will not have a fun experience playing this game. This is the least ive ever enjoyed playing madden usually and we haven't even gotten to the part where EA patches the game and it makes it even more unplayable. Last year at launch I really enjoyed Madden 20 gameplay and by the end of the year it was unbearable. Madden 21 is already unbearable so I cannot even predict how much worse it will get. I cannot stress enough how bad this game is. EA only cares about microtransactions and will shove them down your throat every chance you get. It is sad to see what has happened to Madden a game i grew up loving turn into this. I miss how much fun it used to bring me and cannot keep waiting for a better game.… Expand

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
