    The game has so many bugs it’s ridiculous. The skill gap is nowhere to be found. The gameplay is atrocious. No improvements from last year. And franchise mode is untouched. Yard has glitches and it’s clear EA only put some effort into ultimate team which is a terrible thing.

We’ve gone 2 generations of console of almost no focus on the franchise mode. There is a couple Indie games doing it better than EA. #fixmaddenfranchise

    Also please add physics back into the game. Ignite engine was awesome.     Once again just completely ignored franchise mode. On top of that, for a company that has a monopoly on NFL simulations games, this doesn’t feel at all like a simulated football experience. All the “arcade-like” features of the game got all the attention.

    I bought this, I played it and I have even already got the platinum trophy for this. Everything I played was on all madden outside of face of the franchise. Spent hours and I will be playing sparingly going forward.     -Pass rush moves finally added and expanded upon
    -Face of the franchise while massive flaws has finally taken a small step in the right direction

    Thats it. Two positives. The negatives? The FOOTBALL mechanics of this game are broken. I drop back to pass and I throw the pass. Cool nothing wrong with that right? I felt pressure and for whatever reason the defender pulled up and stopped watched me and let me throw the ball. Not like oh just stopped and made a mistake like the defender sat there and watched me for five seconds.

    Negatives
    -Graphics
    -Gameplay is not a simulation football
    -Still basic fundamental issues. This is not like the WWE version of video games. Its fake football.
    -The yard or superstar KO need to be removed from the game entirely and one mode needs to be focused on
    -The Face of the Franchise is finally heading in the right direction but still has major issues
    -Superstar abilities doesn't make the players feel unique it makes them just hilariously OP and not unique.

    In all this is a game that has fallen from grace. This isn't Madden 21 its Madden 17.4 and while they focus all in on next gen this is the time to change engines and they need to listen to the fans. If that means postponing and not releasing the next game? They need to do it.

    EA won't do that and they will stubbornly keep butting their heads at the wall until this turns into NBA Live.    … Expand

    Literally the worst NFL game ever made. I could’ve stuck with Madden ‘10 and enjoyed it 5 times as much as this heaping pile of trash. Steer clear of this mess. Don’t waste your money. Matter of fact, if you get the inclination to buy it, just send me the money... you’d still get nothing, at least you’ll get the “sense of pride and accomplishment” for helping me pay my bills.

    A critical disappointment for any football fan hoping EA would put an ounce of effort into anything other than micro transaction modes. Franchise mode begs for attention but is still a hollow shell of what it could be and gameplay is glitchy. If you ever want Madden to improve their game you will skip this one entirely.

    Awful. Worse than 20....honestly, gonna go back to playing modded/updated Madden 08 on PC. This is akin to Konami switching to making slot machines, except they are trying to hide it. Madden should just go the direction of NFL Blitz and make a true arcade game... Leave making simulation football to someone else

    I tried writing an honest review but after plugging in my ps2 and playing franchise im giving this a complete 0!! the lack of effort and an EXACT copy and paste franchise from last year the missing modes the same faces same everything its a slap in the face of every football fan alive!     We also need game inmersion, stadiums full of real details, fans that cheers up Big plays, pressure the away team and a bigger Game presentation-end game statics & analysis. We need all of this.     Madden continues to remove things I love from the game to support micro-transactions and to sell card packs. I use to buy Madden every year and I've finally see the light. I'm done, bring back building stadiums and deep create a player and put some effort on franchise mode.

    It’s difficult to begin a criticism of any game when it blatantly and unabashedly revels in its ability to reproduce every aspect of the previous years game, with no change, and still con millions of people in to buying it and investing in its micro-transaction scheme.

    To anyone that hasn’t played this game I would genuinely recommend picking up a copy of madden 15, playing it for a couple hours, and just imagining what this exact same experience would look like with slightly more polished graphics.

    The lack of innovation is genuinely criminal. It beggars belief that despite a whole year of massive criticism for years of no innovation, EA Sports still has the guile to just laugh in the consumers face and do exactly what they’ve done for the last 6 iterations of this game.

    So much so that even the gameplay, which was already frustratingly lacking and subpar, is suffering to the point where this game is now genuinely not enjoyable.

    I don’t think I’ll be buying this series again until there’s genuine meaningful change. What a shame, these games used to be fantastic.    … Expand

    Same game as the last decade, Loaded with pay to win microtransactions. Franchise mode is a empty husk of a game mode in order to push players to microtransaction modes. Mass Effect Andromeda, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Anthem all over again. Lofty promises no follow through.

Let us relocate/rebrand. Let us sign assistant coaches. Let us meet with and ask college players questions before the draft to see if they fit in with how we want to build our team!!! Another issue, why does the 2nd preseason game have the same exact energy has a Week 17 game against a rival with the division on the line??? Why isn’t there a halftime show with more highlights and analysts discussing what teams or players could be doing better or what players have been playing well? I’m sure Menefee, Bradshaw, Long, Strahan and Johnson would love to be in the game! For god sakes get rid or this commentary team. Give us Nantz and Romo. Face of the Franchise is horrible. Flat out horrible. How are you going to market the combine to us and then have the 40 yard dash be a cut scene!? Saying the story itself is cringeworthy is giving it too much credit. It stinks! No matter how good or bad you play, you always seem to get drafted by the Bears? Where’s the fun in playing if it’s preset to where you go? Next, the presentation hasn’t changed over the last 4 years!!! The Super Bowl celebration has been virtually identical since 2017! Have your college player meet with teams and their coaches to discuss how well you fit in before draft night!! Scouting just needs a complete overhaul. Blocking needs to be overhauled. I don’t need my TE running past an untouched LB to block a safety 15 yards down field on a stretch play. Then you have little things like typos, grammatical errors, glitches. Really? Madden 21 is an unfinished product. Tbh I think they should’ve skipped the current gen version and put all of their efforts into the PS5 and new Xbox installments of the game. But based off the fact they’ve wasted an entire generation of consoles with the Maddens for PS4 and Xbox 1 I don’t have high hopes for next-gen.… Expand

    Looks like another "Copy & Paste" this is completely unacceptable. Yesterday my cousin popped in Madden 18 and I played it with him and serioualy thought we was playing my Madden 20. We weren't! This doesn't look any different. Horrible. Im done with this game for good.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
