    Beautiful and well made; it is indeed a diferent kind of game, can be slow for some but for me is an emersive experience full of surprises.
    Great acting, pacing, graphics, sound, music and controls.
    Congrats again, mr. Kojima - you still have a fan!

    I just finished the game, and I can say its the best game I ever played in years, its certainty the most unique game this generation and kojima's best game to date, the world Is vast and beautiful, the gameplay is unique it even makes walking and running fun by adding a balance mechanic which in itself is a Sort of mini game, definitely not a game for everyone, it takes time to learnI just finished the game, and I can say its the best game I ever played in years, its certainty the most unique game this generation and kojima's best game to date, the world Is vast and beautiful, the gameplay is unique it even makes walking and running fun by adding a balance mechanic which in itself is a Sort of mini game, definitely not a game for everyone, it takes time to learn the mechanics, it's not a game you can just pick up and play, it takes time and dedication to learn the mechanics, this game requires patience and it's not for the weak, the story is amazing...one of the most thought out and compelling story since The last of us, the soundtrack is orgasmic and the voice acting is solid, the cast members all work in tandem beautifully... they actually complement eachother it's a heck of a cast, you never seen so much talent in a video game ever, the visual effects and camera work is that of a AAA Hollywood movie, and the graphics are probably the best I've seen this generation, its the most photo realistic game I ever seen, this game is a Slam Dunk and it's a musty play that shouldn't be missed by anyone.… Expand

    I've spent over 10 Hrs. in DS on my livestream Da J spot and enjoyed every minute of it. I Love the cut scenes, Beautiful atmospheric graphics. The grind doesn't Bother me. I Really enjoy the Like system and deliveries are a pain in the butt. But i love a challenge to overcome all obstacles with ladders and ropes and the story i've become very engaged with the story so far i'm on chapter 3I've spent over 10 Hrs. in DS on my livestream Da J spot and enjoyed every minute of it. People are so used to Shooters and others BS. So When a new game comes in that makes you think and is a comfort to the mind and ears it scares people and they're SALTY AF that DS isn't on their consoles. STOP HATING THE GAME AND ACCEPT IT.     Que jogo, brutal. Uma experiência diferente, os momentos entre a calma e a tensão são excelentes, uma overdose de paisagens extremamente bem feitas, jogabilidade gratificante. História está muito bem escrita e o facto de ter PT-PT ainda torna o jogo mais apetecível. É um jogo para se amar ou odiar, mas para quem o ama fica para sempre....

    48 hours to complete, and I have been hooked the entire game.
    It's brilliant. It's crazy. There is no other game like this. Completely original, and if you love story driven games....This has it all.     The porter gameplay is cool and you don't have to actually manage cargo you just press triangle and it does it for you.

    I just sat through 2 hours of interactive story telling at the end and I'm sitting here blown away.

    The acting...the music....the landscapes ...the story.......

    Gameplay: 6.5/10

    I admittedly found the base gameplay enjoyable, but by no means perfect. I found it similar to Breath of the Wild; you largely walk from empty landscape to empty landscape, and the environment is often your biggest adversary. I personally quite enjoyed the walking sim aspects, but found the combat rather lacking, the boss fights underwhelming, and some of the missions too tedious; the challenge often lies in either having to cover far more ground in one stretch than Sam is comfortably able to do, or cover ground without being able to fabricate new equipment before setting out. I felt it was at its strongest when you could properly prepare, and at its weakest when you couldn't. While the boss fights themselves were underwhelming, they at least had a lot of spectacle; they have a grand sense of scale, and almost look like things straight out of some type of scifi or fantasy movie. Looking cinematic doesn't fix the fact they, for the most part, present little challenge and feel more like filler.

    Visuals: 9/10

    The game is, for the most part, visually stunning. Its geometry, texture quality (in most cases), animations, and character models are among the best I've seen across any platform, and it has a very nice implementation of tessellation on snow. With that said, it can drop frames very periodically, it has just okay texture filtering, and its anti-aliasing solution leaves a lot to be desired; small details, such as fences or staircases, shimmer and appear jagged as you move.

    Sound Design: 9/10

    The sound design in this game is very on point, and lends a lot to the overall experience. The choice of music is generally solid in my eyes, while the sound effects and audio cues/"ambient" music add a LOT to the game. For example, when in a BY area, an ominous high pitched pulse continually plays, and the BTs themselves make sounds.

    Overall: 8/10

    Overall, this is a game I greatly enjoyed despite some missteps in the combat, writing of dialogue, and tedium in some of the later missions. If the concept of a walking simulator with a good story appeals to you, I highly recommend it; the description of a walking sim frankly isn't very far off from the truth, and it's those moments in which I feel the game is at its strongest. I'd probably have enjoyed the gameplay more as a whole if the combat was either given even less focus, or enhanced to a significant degree, particularly when the boss fights already nailed the spectacle; the systems in place simply did not make those parts enjoyable to me at all. This has easily been one of the most unique games I've played, and despite some glaring issues with it I rank it quite highly. I went in not expecting great things due to how controversial/polarizing it's been, but I walked away quite impressed overall, and I'm looking forward to what Kojima puts out next.    … Expand

    An emotional and strangely captivating game. This isn't for everyone but saying all you do is deliver parcels is like saying in Gran Turismo all you do is drive in circles.

    The story had me craving to play more and more. The scenery in the game was top notch making your feel like you were actually in the world. 10/10. Kojima made a masterpiece with this game. Yes the combat was a bit klunky but the store made up for it

The name of the game is delivery and player choice, much like Zelda breath of the wild. Your objective is to deliver cargo but what road you take is really up to you, and that’s the magic of it. The multiplayer is verySo right out of the get go I’ll say it. It’s not for everybody but for those who will try it bare the first 8-10 hours of the game and it will open up unbelievably so.     I recommend to play it in hard mode. It gets really difficult to traverse some MULE camps and defeat some of the enemies. Technically is the best videogame I've seen in my ps4, the music is mesmerising and the story is well driven and very interesting, more intense than we are used to.
    This is simply a very beautiful game. I finished yesterday and I'm going to keep playing it at least until I get the platinum. We need more "authors" like Kojima. This is a very different game that will become a game of cult, if it isn't yet. Masterpiece.    … Expand

    Really enjoying the game at the moment, can see why it’s not to some people’s liking. However I would recommend that people stick with it, the game improves drastically the later in the game you get as new equipment streamlines the delivery and combat experience.

    Наиграл пока что около 2 часов. Пока что игра не перестает удивлять постепенно открывая новые возможности для игрока. В начале определенное количество времени ты доставляешь посылки пешком - наверное после этого и пишутся все эти негативные комментарии по поводу симулятора ходьбы. Потом постепенно тебе предоставляют инструменты что бы как раз убрать эту монотонную ходьбу или как-то ееНаиграл пока что около 2 часов. Пока что игра не перестает удивлять постепенно открывая новые возможности для игрока. В начале определенное количество времени ты доставляешь посылки пешком - наверное после этого и пишутся все эти негативные комментарии по поводу симулятора ходьбы. Потом постепенно тебе предоставляют инструменты что бы как раз убрать эту монотонную ходьбу или как-то ее развлечь - твари, МУЛы, транспортные средства, различные постройки которые ты можешь делать сам или помочь другим игрокам. Это все во-первых убирает тот самый "симулятор ходьбы", а во-вторых делает ту самую ходьбу своеобразным этапом игры который приятно проходить.
    Что касается сюжета - пока что вообще нет никаких нареканий, все очень логично и я не нахожу никаких противоречий. Те же убийства людей, которые нельзя совершать, очень хорошо объясняются игровой вселенной. Мне кажется еще и поэтому ставят негативные отзывы, потому что в этой игре не 90% контента это перестрелки или убийства. Здесь есть место и для драк и для стелса, но это все не есть основные игровые механики а скорее дополнение к основному сюжету. Да, согласен что большая часть игры это доставка грузов, я так же согласен что эта игра не для всех, но называть ее плохой и ставить плохие оценки это просто тупо. Это то же самое как например ММО с фокусом на гринд или какие-то карточные игры типа хартстоуна - все эти игры на любителя, но это не означает что они плохие.    … Expand

    I understand that the game is not for everyone but I advise everyone to try it for themselves first since no walkthrough I have seen has given me the same experience as when I played it myself! The graphics for this game is gorgeous, the music is beyond awesome, the story and the lore are too good!

    Then we come to gameplay where some people may not enjoy it. However, for me the gameplay is so enjoyable.
    You deliver stuff while soaking the gorgeous environment and some relaxing music kicks in, it was therapeutic! If you focus on main missions you will rarely backtrack and the environment keeps changing so you will never get bored.
    As for side quests, the game is grindy cause it expects you to work with other players to build the server and make deliveries easier. Since in this game structures you build show up for other players and vice versa.    … Expand

    This is a game that genuinely turns you into a better person, which is no wonder why it gets review bombed like any piece of media that dares to speak on the human condition.
    This is the intellectuals' game and made for lovers of NieR: Automata, that want equal parts; introspection and transcendence.
    It is the very definition of esoteric with plenty of bonkers Kojima-san esque flourishes.
    I genuinely have tried to find a fault with it, but the negative most attribute to it by calling it boring just did not resonate with me after a measly few hours. Boredom almost instantaneously became tranquility and the gameplay and physics some have said are non existent kept me addicted unlike any game in years.

    Have I even mentioned the graphics, scenery, performances and soundtrack?

    Kojima does a fantastic job connecting people, and creating a very unique story. This is definitely one of those games where you will have emotions all over the place and the ending will leave you speechless. It is worth the investment even if it takes some time to get into.

Lore is amazing, graphics is one of the best, but gameplay is so long, repetetive sometimes (not necessarily for everyone) a lot of walking with discovery of the environment, social connection with other players is amazing for example you can see bridges, roads, laddersDeath Stranding has a freaking amazing original story from Hideo Kojima with best soundtrack and memoriable characters .     Absolutely love this game, its different from your usual games but it's a good different the scenes are great and there is just something about everthing that happens, I've played it for a while and still not halfway though as I keep building roads for some reason lol.

    Love this game ! Such an awesome opening ! The game is really a beautiful piece of art, incredible game design with such amazing music! Yes, you will have to walk many and many miles but the story is such epic! Don't hesitate and play on this treasure! Video games aren't only like Cal of duty and others like that... Appreciate it!

    As an avid follower of Hideo Kojimas work, I was very intrigued by this game, and was thoroughly excited to play it, that was until a lot of the reviews that came out from a lot of what I thought to be reputable companies/names. All I can say is ignore any bad reviews you see or hear, they are total rubbish! This game is a complete masterpiece, and after 15 hours, I am in love with it! 10/10

We live in those days, days like we set off in our cars to drive the kids to school, rush to the office, or take on the mall for some groceries, we consume news and human relations in quick instant portions ... where in the world of Death Stranding we won't even have our rig to ride on for starters, we have to lay down the foundations of roads from hard gathered materials for ourselves and for others, for the community, for people. Yes, it can be daunting sometimes, called like 'courier simulator', 'sherpa' or 'delivery game', 9gagged with DHL boxes and FedEx logos, but under the surface the hard strolling mean some deeper things the developer aimed at: you connect the few people who live scattered in their shelters, you discover through mud and snow and make relations, you make yourself famous and liked (here you go facebook addicts!), you solve problems, you learn, you build bridges both metaphorically and literally. And in the meantime you put together the puzzle pieces of a 30 hour long bitter-sweet sci-fi story about a cataclysm and afterlife, flesh and soul, about love and human relations, about the universe and thoughts about religion or our mere existence. And if you can't wait for it, you wil miss it. This is why Death Stranding is not for everyone and why I said many gamers won't even recognize it's values. But people should really stop burning down bridges these days and stop trolling with others who would be up for this package.

    For me, It was a completely different experience. I loved connecting the world and loved seeing how other's can help. Story was great imo. Don't believe the ones bashing on this game, because it's obvious they haven't played it.

    Como já é de quase que domínio público, o jogo não é para todo tipo de jogadores, principalmente para quem gosta de mais ação e combate frenético. A jogabilidade é muito fluida, e responde muito bem aos comandos, com a ressalva de quando se utiliza automóveis, que parecem não desenvolverem muito bem nos terrenos mais acidentados, reagindo de uma forma um quanto estranha e até mesmoComo já é de quase que domínio público, o jogo não é para todo tipo de jogadores, principalmente para quem gosta de mais ação e combate frenético. A jogabilidade é muito fluida, e responde muito bem aos comandos, com a ressalva de quando se utiliza automóveis, que parecem não desenvolverem muito bem nos terrenos mais acidentados, reagindo de uma forma um quanto estranha e até mesmo irritante, principalmente, quando se trata da moto, que muitas vezes em um insignificante desnível sofre muito para superar o “inimigo” do terreno acidentado. Já que estamos falando se terreno acidentado, se abre o gancho para falar dos cenários do jogo, simplesmente deslumbrantes e com um nível de cuidado diferenciado, a combinação dos cenários com o gráfico maravilhoso que já tinha sido visto no jogo Horizon Zero Dawn, irmãos de engine (motor gráfico) só que dessa vez ainda melhor, construíram cenários além de lindos, muito diversificados, passando de terrenos planos, para rochedos, florestas, ruínas, todos com um tom dark e pós-apocalíptico que o jogo se prepõe, e cenários que ainda conseguem ficar melhores se por ventura uma EP te pegar, tudo na volta fica totalmente diferente, parecendo até um lugar bem longe, mas tudo volta ao normal fugindo ao horizonte ou derrotando a entidade, e todos esses lugares ficam sensacionais com a adição das músicas colocadas nos momentos certos e que combinam muito bem com o tom tranquilo e lento. Lento como é o desenvolvimento do jogo, no começo é até mesmo um pouco entediante, já que o jogador tem de fazer longas caminhadas a pé, e sem muito equipamentos que impulsionem e deixem as coisas mais rápidas, porém, não muito mais tarde são introduzidos caminhonetes, motos e exoesqueletos que deixa menos complicado, porém a lentidão narrativa se estende por todo o jogo, e só acelera da metade para o fim, o que para mim não foi um incomodo, pois apesar de lenta, a trama é de excelente qualidade, e complexa com muitos plot-twists mas que em momento nenhum fica forçado ou sem sentido, mas algo que realmente me deixou surpreso foi a falta de mistério sobre o que era o jogo realmente, isso nunca passou do marketing do jogo, na verdade é tudo mastigadinho até demais, parece que o Kojima duvidava que todos iriam entender a complexidade, mas isso se torna um detalhe, que incomoda, mas não tanto.
    É um jogo excepcional com problemas que para mim foram mínimos, é claro que isso varia de quem está jogando, já que essa lentidão pode se tornar insuportável para alguns, eu recomendo, mas com essas ressalvas.    … Expand

Lo mejor es la historia y su sistema Online, hace que no te sientas solo en un juego solitario, recibí lo que esperaba la verdad, siento que las criticas que van al Ataque son porque no les gusta que se hable bien de kojima y directamente se compraron un juego que no es su tipo en parte es su culpa por hacerlo triple AAA, pero vamos a mi no me gustan ciertas comidas y no quiere decir que sean malas, es lo mismo si criticara minecraft no es mi tipo de juego, pero es un gran juego sanbox, los que jugaron los metal gear creo que les encantara el juego, creo que los que van al ataque se lo compraron porque decian cosas buenas del mgs y se llevaron por eso sin jugar ninguno o muy poco a un solo titulo, sin saber que este no era su tipo de juego.

    To be honest this was my first time playing a Hideo Kojima's game and i didnt know what to expect. When i started it didnt grab me as i expected but after the 3rd episode this game became one of my all time favorites. The story is brilliant and the ending is superb.

    The atmosphere, music, and story this game contains is top notch. The gameplay loop is addicting and fun. I have nothing bad to say about this game, the only nit pick I could possibly say is that some characters dialog can be a bit annoying but I don't think that takes anything away from the experience overall. 10/10.

A game that uses the open world as a gameplay mechanic instead of canvas to pad out the run time with pointless objectives and filler collectibles. I'm really eager to see everything the story has to offer. I'm on Ch. 5 and it's starting to pick up. All these people saying it has no gameplay clearly haven't played or seen the game.     If your favorite thing in RDR2 is walking around/riding your horse and just exploring the amazing world, then you should for sure play this game. If not then you should still experience the story, so I guess you could watch a playthrough.

    I have yet to completed the game, but I've put in over 125 hours, and I gotta say, "I love this game." You would think, a game where you deliver packages shouldn't be so engaging, but it is... oddly it is. The game play once you get it, is addicting. I find myself delivering packages, and looking to get a 5 star rating so I can unlock certain perks, which is cool. You start off walking, then riding bikes, then trucks, and so on... there's even segments that totally feel like something out of Metal Gear, which is something you'd expect from the creator Hideo Kojima.
    Would I recommend this game to everyone? Well, yeah... Death Stranding is a breath of fresh air in a stale game industry, if you ask me. That being said, I know its not for everyone... not everyone understand poetry...    … Expand

It is truly a unique game, where so many reviewers say they haven't played anything like it before. You never get a triple A quality game that tries something new, and I like that a lot.     It's sad to see everyone calling the other stupid for liking OR not liking the game, also for the several reviews that aren't reviews, for the simple reason that in order to review a game, you have to play it, while others are for sure real and honest, but seems to be less than half of them.
    That being said:
    PROS: -The gameplay is addictive, and no it's not because the "like" system,    It's sad to see everyone calling the other stupid for liking OR not liking the game, also for the several reviews that aren't reviews, for the simple reason that in order to review a game, you have to play it, while others are for sure real and honest, but seems to be less than half of them.
    That being said:

    PROS:
    -The gameplay is addictive, and no it's not because the "like" system, it really encourages cooperation and empathy when you find useful tools put by other people in your way, you end doing the same and feeling good about it. From sharing tools to rebuild the roads, you can see how it affects other people's gameplay.
    -Graphics are top-notch
    -The story is interesting, tho this is subjective, but at least animations and character models are really well done.

    CONS:
    -The gameplay mechanics are very specific, it means variety is not the key, like popular games do (where you have a variety of mechanics or either simple mechanics), so it won't appeal a very big audience, while the mechanics themselves vary through the game, but if you don't enjoy games like JOURNEY or TRUCK SIMULATOR (with a bit of fight and stealth) and the traversals on RDR2, you might not like this game at all.

    Since the cons are pretty much a subjective personal thing, and not really objective, It stays as a 10 to me.    … Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
