    I find this game fascinating bold and a breath of fresh air. In today’s age where most video games have tons of violence and limited depth. This game carries itself through new game mechanics that might not be for all. I understand the vision in which Kojima wanted players to treat this game. This games focus is about connection and positive asynchronous multiplayer game play which lendsI find this game fascinating bold and a breath of fresh air. I believe if you’re able to look past the fact that you’re not killing enemies every 5 seconds or blowing up buildings with rocket launchers for fun then you’ll be able to have fun with the game. I haven’t been able to put the game down yet and I’m having a blast with it whole heartedly. This isn’t for the short attention span or the low IQ lol… Expand

    This game is amazing, but it's not for everyone!
    A lot of people complain about that you "walk" but you also basically just walk in skyrim/red dead and witcher, it just gets covered by the setting and its harder to see.
    Yess you walk, but the walking is fun and insane challenging, the magic happens WHILE you walk. Do you enjoy a strong story, challenging and fun gameplay, interesting    This game is amazing, but it's not for everyone!

    Do you enjoy a strong story, challenging and fun gameplay, interesting multiplayer mechanics with an incredible soundtrack?
    Then go get it, but if you thaught that game is more like metal gear, then you will be left dissapointed.
    This game is obviously not for someone who is looking for an action movie, sure it has that, but its in between so much more and im glad hideo kojima did something different this time.

    Without delving into spoilers and talking about gameplay:

    -The game looks visually great. I'm only on a base PS4 and it really manages to look pre-rendered a lot of times both in gameplay and cutscenes. Both the technical features and art direction is pretty good. The landscape is just gorgeous.  -The movement system is actually pretty fun so far.     -The movement system is actually pretty fun so far. The dedicated buttons for hopping over things rapidly and balancing yourself does make out for an engaging way to make traversing through various environments an interesting experience. It really gives your character a good sense of weight without feeling like you're actively fighting the controls or animations getting in the way of responsive input.
    
    -Great music and audio work. Really gives moments a nice cozy feeling while keeping things tense. There were even moments where I thought it was actually raining outside since the directional audio sounds so good.

    -The story itself is pretty amazing, with some hiccups here and there.    … Expand

    Just Perfect. Dumb people wont understand the concept. The game is so much complex and fun to plsy, and the story is worth of a christopher Nolan movie, i hope they can bring the secuel.

    If u like open world crafting world building stealth elements strong narrative exploring trversing nice new none toxic online system this is for u mite not be for everyone but its a 19/ 19 goty for me in my opion . i really feel deepley conected to the protaganist and world

    Kojima has done it again. not only is this his first game post leaving konami and moving on from silent hills and metal gear solid but this game is balls to the walls increible and is a must play to any fan of kojimas work on the critically famed Metal Gear Solid frachise must play.

    Kojima creates art as always,gripping story,amazing graphics as for gameplay aperfect survival simulator delivery system full of little details.a gaming experience something new but as mgs its not for all!kojima fans must and for the brave porters out there!!!see u on the beach...

    Don’t listen to the haters calling it a delivery game. It is not!
    It’s like asking a CallOfDuty player to review Witcher 3, and the reviewer starts complaining about respawn times. It makes no sense to complain about it because this is a survival game.

    this game is like euro truck simulator 2 hideo kojima version. you enjoy the road from A to B, and whatever that will happen in between. i feel sorry for everyone that thought this game will be "kill everyone but yourself and you win the game" or another COD "re-skinned".

    Great Game! An interesting and unpredictable plot. Reading an email and an encyclopedia in the game is a pleasure. The game-play is meditative but sometimes it gets hot.

    For me personally, the game world has caused an association with the book Roadside Picnic of the Strugatsky brothers.

Красивые детали мира, звуковое сопровождение (можно было и побольше ) на высшем уровне, игра оставляет тебя наедине с природой и маленьким ребенком.     Death stranding is one of the most unique games i've ever played. A story is something you want to know, but you have to walk a lot to see this. And... I love it. I just do not know why, but I enjoyed walking and deliver some cargoes while listening to music or watching videos. If you enjoy slow gameplay you'll like it

I was debating for hours and finally i was like, " I want to be a part of this whether it's good or bad!" I have no regrets. I can not wait to play more. People say the first 3-6 hours were boring.     The story is unique and amazing, the scenaries are beautiful, and the characters are very interesting. The gameplay is not the best but the mechanics are unique an they fulfill their purpose, inmersing you in a vast world in which youre one of the few people going out there and helping others. Definetly one of a kind.

    Лучшее во что я играл, те кто говорят что симулятор доставщика, а кто сказал что игры это обязательно стрелять убивать и тд? На каждое задание выдают новые гаджеты, что не даёт заскучать, мне ни разу не было скучно в этой игре.
    Очень атмосферный и проработанный мир. Что касается сюжета, лучше я еще не встречал.

    Um jogo que de fato não é para todos os gostos. Em alguns momentos fica lento demais e creio que isso irrita a maioria. Não é meu caso, pois gosto de jogos com boa narrativa. E este tem uma história excelente.

    I'm not a Kojima super duper fan, Mgs isn't my favourite game at all. Despite everything, Death Stranding struck me from the first trailer, and once I started playing it, it didn't disappoint me. Very high graphic level, cinematographic level images and history that pushes to continue the game from the first seconds thanks to the excellent script. The gameplay is at the service of the plotI'm not a Kojima super duper fan, Mgs isn't my favourite game at all.     To anyone actually reading this, I think this game is a 8.7/10 so far. I'm about 5 hours in and its exactly what I expected. A strange, melancholy, interesting and different game about the end of the world, hiking, delivering packages, and making connections. I think its great and I can't wait to dive into it more. The 10/10 is to counteract the insane 0/10 reviews people are farting out

    I'm surprised I like it as much as I do. The story is something else, the world is something else. Everyone says walking simulator, and I get it. It reminds me of cabin to cabin hikes in Norway, and that part is pretty chill and not to everyones liking. They made a game mechanic of the over encumber mechanics of other RPGs. I'm thorough with my play through and I get some repetition of some cut scenes here and there, but it's skippable so it doesn't bother me that much, and there are a lot of them so I'm surprised it lastet this long without repetition.

    It's something somewhat original, and deserves praise just for that even though some people find it boring. And game mechanics wise, it just works.

    If you don't hate it right off the bat and can't decide on if you like it, give it a chance to at least chapter 3, that's when world building stuff comes into play and the world gets more "alive", you don't meet other players directly, but you encounter signs of them throughout the game from here on.    … Expand

I do admit this game will not be for everyone, but if you think you are someone who can take their time with a game and truly enjoy this masterful work of art, then you should absolutely play it.     The most unique experience I've had this year.This game will be an inspiration for many developers in the future.
    I just wanted to try this game now look at me 6 hours im stock in this world. You need to learn gameplay mechanics to have fun either way you just suffering or it's not your type of game.

    vídeo juego relativamente bueno , pero por favor kojima no era el lugar ni el momento para desgraciar todo tu trabajo buena historia buena idea de juego pero la idea del repartidor de paqueteria creo que es muy atrevida tu idea, pero a un así espero que aya personas que disfruten del titulo y no esperen mucho del juego en si .

    If you are calling Death Stranding a boring game you don't even deserve to play it, you just don't get it. Most of the negative reviews here are from people who haven't even played the game just watched some gameplay stream and then calling it boring and repetitive.

    This is more than a game it's an experience you really should give it a chance.

    Es mucho mejor de lo que esperaba, sin duda. Pero obviamente no es para casuals.

    Si eres casual, le pondrás mala nota a este juego, o si tu nicho son los FIFA, por muy bueno que sea el God of War, no te va a gustar. Esto es la misma historia de siempre.

    No me gusta nada FIFA, y no voy a ponerle un 1, por que simplemente no me guste.

    It's fantastic! The best game of this generation, it's fresh, it's bold, its breathtaking visuals are simply out of this world, the story is really interesting and intelligent in all of its weirdness. For those sensitive and intellectual enough it is also a great existential statement about the current state of our world and scoeity. A must-play game!

    I am rating it 10 (though it doesn't really 10, 8-9 for me), just to lift it's rating coz there are lots of idiots rating it zero despite of the great content.
    I assume those 0 ratings are IGNs dummy account to bring down the rating of this game just    I initially have doubts with this game coz they said this game is not for all, but I bought it anyway. And thank God coz the game is for me.

For me personally, this is one of the best games of the year on a par with sekiro shadows die twice, I frankly do not understand how you can cheat the game and put units, it seems that people who dirty the game did not play even 10 or even 5 hours into it. Calling a game a walking simulator is like calling every modern duck shoot shooter, according to such stupid logic, you can call mario a walking simulator or the legend of zelda breath of the wild (which I also went through and consider a **** game, but there’s no less than walking in Zelda). It is ironic that a game in which the main idea is a union of people has ruined the gaming community into two warring camps.     The game is definitely not a walking simulator. I personally detest walking sims. If this game is a Walking Sim, then so is Breath of the Wild.

    This game actually shares more in common with BOTW than you might think. The real fun of the game is in traversal. Not mindlessly walking forward. But in seeing a mountain in your path and struggling to get up and over it.

    If you played BOTW and you loved trying to forge your path to the next ruin, which meant scaling a mountain and winding around it, or trying to figure out a way to get up and over with just the limited supplies that you had, then you'd love this game.

    This game seems to me a real madness !!
    It is incredible, no doubt a true work of Hideo Kojima.
    I think that if you have many cinematics, but never get bored and walking does not feel empty because you appreciate the landscape and loneliness.
    It reminds me a lot of feeling when playing Shadow of the Colossus

The hardships required to bring people together is tough and it is shown brilliantly by Hideo. The story is mysterious to keep you on hook. I know this game was not received well by gaming community. But as gamer if you don't want to buy the game it's fine at least rent it .

    The usual Japanese style that over-glorified a single job/hobby, this time is “delivering cargos”.

    A nice game to enjoy when u r a person that prefer creating safe haven for others. To me nothing is more delighting than helping and contributing to others indirectly.

    Beginning is more like an Interactive Cinematic Experience than a traditional game. Story development is riveting and engaging. Actor’s performances shine. Later on, the game begins to resemble a more familiar experience, but is still very enjoyable. Looking forward to more from Kohima Productions!

    First off, ignore the review bombers. The average gamer is fairly retarded. Make no mistake, this is not a game for everyone, I suggest really considering what you look for in a game. It has action, but it's not the focus. No, it's not JUST a walking simulator. It has an endless supply of guns, grenades, rocket launchers, and anti-LGBT (ghost) weapons.

    It starts off more like a slow paced stealth game. You don't have a lot of tools at the beginning and the game focuses on story telling for the first few hours. This is where most players give up, because they try and play like its Fortnite or Call of Duty, sprinting everywhere and trying to fight everything. You just can't play with that mindset, and if that's the type of game you're looking for, just close this page and walk away.

    This is closer to a story focused RPG than it is an action game. Yes the main focus is delivering packages through an endless amount of terrains and areas, from scary as **** haunted house type areas, to long corridors of a destroyed city, or through an absolutely massive open world with dynamic environments like snow, rain and even boulders falling down hills. It's all about getting from point A to point B safely, using tools like grappling hooks, ladders, and sticky guns to find and retrieve cargo. Balancing is hard early on, and forces you to move slowly to learn. Once you get the hang of it, and upgrade stats and equipment, it gets easier.

    There are numerous vehicles, motorcycles that focus on speed or trucks that can carry huge amounts of cargo and make long distance deliveries a breeze.

    The game's action is centered around farming materials at terrorist camps so you can build and maintain numerous types of structures in the open world, as well as roads, to boss fights which are the central part of story progression.

    And let me tell you; these are some of the best boss fights you'll experience in gaming. Think shadow of colossus meets god of war, meets metal gear solid. The fights are cinematic as hell, the visuals are breathtaking. I often died taking too many screenshots.

    Boss fights arent hard in a sense of combat, the hard part comes from maintaining the condition of your cargo while beating a boss. Falls, trips, getting knocked over or hit, will damage your cargo, reducing your rewards for quests. The difficulty, unlike most games, is not in the ability to do damage, but in the ability to stay safe while doing damage.

    I suggest playing on hard, the boss fights are longer and more engaging on that difficulty.

    I don't want to put spoilers in this review so I'm ending it here only covering the basics. This game isnt for everyone, but for those who understand it and arent looking for the next Fortnite, this is one of the most polished, well done games of the generation. The acting is the best you'll experience in a game. It has humor, sadness, suspense and horror. The story and world are captivating, to say the least. And playing with headphones alone at night can actually be terrifying in some ways as you get deeper into the story. I often left areas and stayed in brighter, rain free areas because I was getting RE7 VR flashbacks (lol)

    If you appreciate a unique story, that alone is worth a purchase. If you are a diverse gamer, you will appreciate this game if you take the time to understand it.    … Expand

    This game requires patience, and it's not your typical AAA Game these days. However, the story is incredible. The systems are fun and engaging, provided you take the time to acknowledge and play to them. This game isn't high intensity. It's made to be played relaxed, your meant to ruminate as you move. I can understand it's not for everyone, but I loved it.

    Interesting story and fun game. It's nice too see a game that is trying something different and loved the ability to share equipment and indirectly interact with other people in a friendly/helpful manner rather than competing all the time.

    Some of the mechanics were a little confusing and took some getting used to.

    This is truly a unique game. Never seen anything like it. Stunningly beautiful, beautifully acted with and intriguing story. It's my kind of narrative and I understand it might not for everyone. I usually like shooters but sometimes a change is good too, and oh boy, the gameplay IS a change. Didn't know walking is that challenging. This is worth the full price in my opinion.

    O melhor game que joguei este ano até o momento. Não terminei o game pois o lançamento dele foi ontem, e só joguei 8 horas do game e estou encantado. Como a galera pode dar nota baixa se foi lançado ontem? Esse site deveria ter uma forma de dedectar pessoas mau intencionadas para prejudicar as vendas de um game, por outros gostar de outra plataforma e nem ter jogado o game.

    This is easily one of the best game I’ve played my entire life...it’s so different...it has it’s own atmosphere...it’s own concept and story...the graphic is unbelievable...and the gameplay is so realistic..I just can thank kojima for giving us a piece of art which we needed for many years

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
