    Very unique experience, ive always loved the idea of realistic exploration and traversal in video games and Death Stranding is the master. It might not be for everyone but if you value creative and unique game design you owe yourself a playthrough.

    Attention ce jeux va énormément diviser.
    Pour ma part j'ai été porté par la DA et l'OST.
    J'ai passé un très bon moment dessus, le gameplay est sympa, ça change des jeux habituel de ce calibre.
    Le plus simple est de tester et vous faire votre propre avis. Après je comprend parfaitement que certains n'aient pas du tout accroché ;)

    There are so many good games out there that are perfect in their own way and genre. But this game is undoubtedly far from perfection. Long-winded but uninformative lines. Beautiful but messy settings(I reckon it's because they made the concept of gameplay first and then made story and background in accordance with it.) Fcked up driving mechanism. Other players who were always competitors are now your biggest invisible friends. The feeling of relief you get when see a perfect structure at perfect location and moment is something you can only feel in this game. You can't help but hit Like button. The action you have to make when on foot is so unique that gotta admit it's an acquired taste but when you get used to the sense of it, you can see how this game opens a whole new paradigm of action game. Needless to say how overwhelming the scenery is with wonderful musics. It's divisive of course, for it's not like any other game we've been playing so far. But if you think of yourself as an open minded person or want to challenge something new, this is the one. You are gonna love it unless you are a trigger happy americans or IGNorant.     Not for everyone of course.
    I actually liked it, I mean, the base gameplay mechanic is still just walking around, but it's really enjoyable. You should try it at least, the game is not that expensive right now, so if you hate it after buying it, you don't loose that much money

    There are a little too many cinematic scenes in the first and last hours of the game, and the excess of these scenes can make the game a little boring and tiring. But apart from these bad features, Death Stranding is a game with great graphics, convenient and comfortable controls and a tremendous story.     I followed this game since the first teaser. In the end the game didn't match my genre, it felt really horror. Still I tried the game and it became one of my favourite games in the last 25 years of gaming. The scenery, the music, the open world, the scary moments, the story, the feeling when you reach your destination after a long and hard trip was amazing!!! Thank you for this game!!!

    story : 10/10 for me ... because it was so special journey in video game industry and i'm really in love with mysterious sci fie subjects .... so this game was for me
    graphic : the game looks gorgeous ... beautiful landscapes and face details ... so it is 10/10 for me gameplay : not good .. honestly ... first problem is walking in the game is so good    i just finished the game ...

    gameplay : not good .. honestly ... first problem is walking in the game is so good relaxing okay .. but when it get too much .. you'll start getting bored ... and honestly i couldn't enjoy music and landscapes much because there were bt's in my way... second problem is boss fights ... i played on very hard difficulty and i didn't know where to expect boss fight so i didn't get weapons i needed .. so game become harder for me, i kept playing until the last boss fight ... and in the last cliff boss fight i tried one hundred times and i couldn't kill him because i didn't have weapon and i should've used in game weapons .. so it was almost impossible to defeat him ... so i lower the difficulty, the thing i hate to do in the middle the games i play... so despite beautiful graphic and amazing story this game had weak gameplay that could be much better .. but i think 9 is a fair score .. and thanks to kojima and his team for this gorgeous game ;)    … Expand

    Just finish story. I can admint its geting boring in some point to deliver this parcerls but the story is mindblowing and the last chapter is playing on our at least on my emotions. The long story and repetive missions are done with perpouse to band player with characters to put some emotions betwen player and character we control and the one are close to us.     This game isn't for everyone. It is a bit slower-paced, and the movement can be difficult. However, the game world is so unique and beautiful that you can't stop playing. The soundtrack is phenomenal and fits the game world very well. All in all, it is a very unique game and I applaud Hideo Kojima for trying to think outside of the box.

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good. Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so.

    To start off with, the graphics are insanely good and so is the story and characters. This game has a good message to tell the world too. This game suffers from story beats being too far in between which will force some players to give up and just research the ending. You are pretty much just a delivery gut in this game but there is more than just walking like people say and they let you unlock other stuff pretty quickly. Gameplay is smooth but the first 8 hrs of the game you are wondering if all the walking complaints are true but it’s just the initial game mechanics. You’ll be driving, and zip lining in no time. Just be sure to plan your route for vehicles otherwise, you’ll be walking.    … Expand

    He gane looks great in ps4 and better with the upgrade to ps5. Love the game from beginning to end .... after chapter 12 I did truly love it and I it make me emotional to finished it.

I hike for my job and also have to carry equipment with me in remote areas and have to plan navigating the landscape in much the same way with equipment weight, safest paths or fastest routes, caution around bad weather, etc (minus the MulEs and BTs of course).     and now, i do also believe kojima calling his genre of game a "strand-type game" was indeed very cheesy way for him to marketing his game since we can say this genre existed thanks to souls-like genre and my beloved, Dark souls series. but stil, calling it strand-type or souls-like game,
    both of these genres have something very special for the modern society. i have played many games in my life, and i have never seen a game execpt dark souls, DS and disco elysium does such thing. to implant a Mindset within the player. an idea, a way of thinking...
    death stranding, in my humble opinion, teaches you the metta meditation mindset.
    and i get it. you may not like the game. but if you have experienced loneliness, depression and isolation in your life, trust me. just try it. you may appreciate and get what i mean.
    this game is made for this audience.
    in this game, you are alone. but yet you are not.
    you are alone but in your path, people have passed it.
    you are alone but you give kindness to the world around you
    and also you get kindness from others in tough situations
    this is love.
    this is a meditation. you are all by yourself, just "walking", feeling each step you take, and on your way, you give help and you get help. this is life. this is love and kindness. and thats why its so special.
    death stranding is an underrated gem. and yeah, its not for everyone and i get it if you don't like it.

    im a hog for kojima games. this is no exception. many see the gameplay as a big downside and i understand that, but personally, I really liked the minimalist design and simply enjoying the environments while walking a massive expanse. not only that but the story is as goofy as youd expect from kojima.

And the war-dream sequences are combat-heavy, where the rest of the game is decidedly not. So there's that bit of uneven-ness to it.     Amazing story, amazing world, amazing visuals... Very enjoyable overall. Only actually "negative" point I can come up with is that the UI/menus can feel very complex and intimidating at first. Took a while to truly wrap my head around it all.

    I loved this game. it's so hard to think Kojima went through the length to make something like this in this day and age.

    I adored Sam's relationship with other characters. I loved that the gameplay is not scripted and total a walk in the park. I love that it makes my heart beat faster and faster in fights. There were so many close calls.

    One of the best games I have played so far for ps5 (and ps4 as well actually). Cinematic is sickening, background musics are incredibles, the storyline is very different from other games. I would recommend this game.

    Another Kojima masterpiece! Truly unique with a H bomb level story. Beautiful music, insane graphics. One of a kind. If the whole vehicle gameplay wasn't so janky it'd be very close to perfect.

    Me ha sorprendido mucho el juego, por las malas criticas que tenía lo compré con mucho miedo, las primeras 3 horas sentí que todo lo malo que habían dicho era cierto y de repente boom, todo cambia, a medida que empieza el juego desde la muerte de la presidenta de los Estados Unidos el juego no para de sorprender, cada UCA (ciudades) que visitas va apareciendo mas equipo y mas construcciones donde la participación es clave para conseguirlas, el estrés y el miedo en algunas partes del mapa es real, y la sensación de estar conectando todo es muy viva. Cuando mirad el juego como a cualquier otro juego, mapa grandísimo, ir de punto A a punto B, en alguno juegos matando maquinas, en otros persiguiendo a alguien y en este repartiendo mercancía muy importante en un mundo post apocalíptico te das cuenta que al final no se diferencia de otros juegos que siempre te gustaron y empiezas a perder el miedo y a centrarte en la historia, la cual hasta el momento pinta muy bien. Merece la pena jugarlo.

    EDITO: *(19 noviembre 2019) Ya he terminado el juego y le tengo que subir la nota. El juego a medida que vas avanzando te va sorprendiendo cada vez más y el final te deja muy WTF. Es un juego muy largo, de los juegos con historia más largos que haya jugado nunca, el juego parece que termina (con créditos y todo) y continúa varias horas más hasta el verdadero final.     Death stranding is a very beautiful game, that is just different than other games i have played. It’s very relaxing at times, and very stressful when it needs to be. The story is weird, but enjoyable. And the controls may be weird but it fits to the story.

    I finished this game two years ago. I remember it as the best time ever. I dońt get the low ratings, this is one of the best games I have ever played, it has great humor, meaning, fantasy, science fiction… and it works. Yes, the gameplay is not like a FPS, who cares. I can play shooters for hours, or sim racing games, but Death Stranding is something else. Give it a try.

    The game is awesome. The plot is really way better than 95% of movies. Walking simulator? What about all the vehicles you get overtime. It is very widely complex, each attempt I learn something new. Hideo is the ultimate creator.

    THIS IS AMERICA:
    Death Stranding looks like a typical Kojima game; the player is catapulted within the first few hours of the game into a sequence of cryptic cutscenes aimed at stimulating the player's curiosity, and right from the start one can understand the highly authorial tone of the work. The location is the USA, in a “post apocalyptic” setting. It is neither coincidental nor strange to understand almost nothing of the plot of this game in the first few hours, but it is precisely where the player does not fully understand the plot that he or she can begin to speculate, later finding themselves with pleasant predictions and surprises as the story progresses. In the first steps within the game, the mechanics that will later be used throughout the playthrough are brilliantly explained, thanks to the accurate level design and the clarity of the main mechanics.

    DELIVERING PACKAGES:
    Death Stranding's gameplay is one of the most talked-about gameplays of 2019; between those who are bored and those who are thrilled, it is undeniable that Death Stranding created something new, which in today's AAA is no small feat. Just giving the game an actual genre is complex, being that it created a new one in its own right. There is no denying that this gameplay, based on merely running from point A to point B is nothing epic, and it may bore the casual gamer, but if you take it the right way it becomes a very relaxing game, given also the mainly natural style of the environment.
    Nonetheless, the game has several mechanics that can delight various types of players and different playstyles; you can rush through the game skipping everything by bike, always go on foot admiring the scenery, or fight looters who will try to steal your cargo. There is of course no shortage of problems, but I will report on them in the game cons later.

    LOOKING THROUGH UNBORN’S EYES:
    Graphically the game is really good, on consoles it looks almost always clean and detailed, on pc you don't notice excessive differences from the console version except for the rendering distance and framerate. The facial animations are decent but the models are superb. Yet another merit is the world design; the use of photogrammetry, the assumption of real environments to give the game a realistic architecture, makes the game incredibly immersive. In addition, the use of lighting and colors is always apt and impeccable.

    “LIKE SOUND EFFECT”:
    On audio level, the game has very few imperfections; it boasts of a soundtrack composed of dozens of songs always used at the right time, some truly catchy osts created specifically for the game, an astronomical cast with some of the best voice actors in the video game world, and a perfect choice of sound effects.

    BUT WHY 9?

    PROS:
    Death Stranding is one of those gems that should be played by those who are fans of exciting and intricate storylines. If what you are looking for is a game purely dedicated to gameplay, it is not the game for you, as that is not what it was created for. The story, world building and characterization of this work is one of the best ever created. All of this is extremely augmented by the fantastic actors used and the great voice actors in the cast. The study of the game's level design is almost always impeccable, and it suppresses the repetitiveness of the base game.

    CONS:
    The cons of the game are several, and they almost all relate to subjective tastes a player might have. Let's start, however, with objective problems; The motorbike; the motorbike is one of those things that are essential to the game, but turn out 80% of the time to be extremely clunky, and you often find yourself stuck, bugged or in impossible situations. Another thing is the facial animations, which as opposed to the facial models, turn out, due to technology, to be very expressive, and there are many scenes that would have been much more exciting with better animations. Obviously the worst negative point of the game is, if given in the hands of a casual player, the lack of franticness, action, and diversity; the presence of numerous cutscenes made many people give up on the game, along with the monotonous gameplay, and this is a shame, but as kojima said, this was calculated, and not everything can please everyone.

    From the start, the music completely immerses you in the game. Norman Reedus' acting is perfect and the scenario unpredictable. Those who stop on the gameplay aspect (which I find nice) really miss an experience. Good job Kojima

One of my best videogame experience of all time after more 20 years of gaming. Not only it did it but with the covid event it took a prophetic turn.     Appart for that it's a new. Unique gameplay that need to be experienced. I can't say another because the experience itself shouldn't be spoiled. I bough the game without looking anything online. So the first hours were... what i did ? I was sort of returning playing solo games after take distance from it. So it was hard and all that menus and stuff were... disengaging. But. Like pretty much what's beautiful in life. It's not easy at first.
    That game represent that from top to bottom. A must play experience. A totally breakthrough journey for me that i continue to play trying finishing at 100%    … Expand

    Sin embargo los mejores momentos del juego son cuando ignoras a los personajes, la historia tan rebuscada y el combate aburrido y te centras en intentar no irte de hocico por una cordillera mientras vas cargando con cuatro garrafones. El diseño del terreno es impresionante y llegar a un lugar se siente siempre como un desafío que es más interesante y divertido que cualquier otra actividad que el juego te pida hacer. Quizá el gameplay sea repetitivo pero es atrapante, sin embargo nunca podré saber si este juego realmente es bueno o es solo el nombre de Kojima el que levanta la experiencia

Awesome game, it’s itself a new kind of video game, with a whole new concept and new way of doing things, of course it requires a lot of time and a lot of common sense and curiosity if you wanna make things simple, for example, I spend hours and hours walking because I didn’t understand how to use the equipment to travel from one part of the map to the other and tried to use the motorbike everywhere, but once you understand the ziplines everything becomes easier. The story is awesome, every character has a lot of personality and enrich the way to the end, it’s a time worthy trip, that everyone should experience and enjoy, Norman Reedus is such a rockstar, just to watch him worth the time. The villain is awesomely made, like all the twists at the end, for sure you won’t regret playing this game. The whole thing last around 40 hours, not going too deep into secondary missions of course.

    If there is one thing to mention, on a negative way, is the Call of Duty parts of the game, or the “Metal Gear” parts coming from Miyazaki, it’s so unnecessary those shooting sessions, and so frustrating, above all at the final hour of the game, when you think it’s over and just keep delaying the end, and shooting the VT is good, but those against Cliff are so bad and it may be the worse part of the whole game.    … Expand

    masterpiece, the plot is just amazing, the gameplay is certainly not dynamic, but I don't remember a single moment where I would have thought to finish as soon as possible, I wasn't bored, the ending is just great, for the first time since I play games, they didn't give me the same emotions as death stranding

Outstanding gameplay and graphics and a great storyline. This game is definitely for those who want a different approach to a great challenge, parts require you to adapt and conquer and the more you play, the more solutions become available to for your use.     If you play for more than a few hours the game mechanics make sense. You learn how to not fall over all the time, how to use stealth, or be brash and loud when needed. The gameplay is super fun. Trying to work out the best route for deliveries to maximise your route and avoid BTs.

    The story as well is so well written and unique. I love the characters and the history they have. Also how all the stories tie in at the end.

    The only really annoying thing in the game for me was the unskippable scene every time your BB detects BTs. If you make mutliple runs this can happen many times and it gets frustrating. Apart from that I highly recommend.    … Expand

    What a masterpiece! The story is not easy, but it’s deep and philosophical, not for kids and small minded people. It’s about finding a connection between oneself and humanity. The game really opens up after quite some hours of gameplay. Truly unique!

J'ai joué a des centaines de jeux, passé des milliers d'heures, et explorer de nombreux terrains. Si The Last Of Us, Life Is Strange ou encore Beyond:Two Souls on a véritablement marqué ma vie de gamer et même ma vie tout court, Death Stranding est pour moi le jeu avec le scénario le plus prenant et le plus émouvant qui puisse exister a l'heure actuelle.

    Comme l'avait bien dit son créateur Hideo Kojima "ce n'est pas un jeu fait pour tout le monde" si vous n'êtes pas du genre émotionnel ou que vous préférez juste jouer au jeu vidéo pour passer du bon temps avec vos amis, alors passez votre chemin.
    Death stranding s'adresse a un public impliqué dans les questions "existentiel" de notre monde. DS questionne tout un tas de choses constituant nos réalités sociale et humaine, en passant de notre nature d'être humain jusqu'à notre représentation même de l'univers.

    C'est ce qui je pense déplaît à beaucoup de gens qui s'attendaient à avoir un énième shooter a la MGS, en effet même la narration et le scenario sont "bizarres". C'est très ouvert et sujet à interprétations, je trouve ça absolument génial.
    Comme dans l'art chaque joueur va avoir sa propre perception d'une même histoire, et c'est trop peu commun dans le jeu vidéo pour ne pas en parler ! je pense aussi que c'est ca qui a refroidi beaucoup de gens qui se sont retrouvé perdu face à cette liberté narrative.

    Pour ce qui est du gameplay en lui-même, cela se résume à faire des livraisons à travers l'Amérique. Absolument rien de plus, ça va donc vous paraître bizarre que je vous dise que le gameplay n'est pas répétitif. Mais, en effet, l'histoire va sans cesse donner un nouveau sens au gameplay et venir nous redonner un second souffle avec toujours plus de motivation pour rétablir les "Villes Unis d'Amérique".

    Le système de récompense est très jouissif pour le joueur et a aucun moment je n'ai été ennuyé par le jeu. Death Stranding est basé sur la natation, et même si son système atypique et innovant font de ce jeu un hors norme, il est pour moi l'un des meilleurs jeux vidéo que j'ai pu expérimenter jusqu'à ce jour    … Expand

    Personally I enjoyed it for the immersive and beatiful music, I felt lot of empathy for the characters, the graphics are just stunning and animations are well made. Cons: the game is too long and sometimes the characters explain too much stuff that is not useful or just repeting something that another character said before. The gameplay has some problems , it's fun at the start but too repetitive in the end, the fact that you can't build everywhere is a limit , but the fact that what you build could help other players it's a concept in multiplayer games that i have never seen before. Nevertheless I really enjoyed being Deliveroo and I have platinumed it. I felt lot of emotions near the end of the story. Thank You Kojima for this wonderful experience, looking forward to play DS 2 . ;)))

    Not for everyone but definitely for me. The story is the best work of fiction ive ever experienced. Did not mind the slow pace.

    um otimo jogo. só que o jogo fica bem enjoativo e repetitivo depois de terminar as missões principais, o combate com armas de fogo não é tão divertido. más passar numa área de EP's pra coletar entregas sem arma nenhuma enquanto vê a sombra deles é de deixar qualquer um em desespero.

    Игра не для всех, но если вас зацепит, уже не отпустит. Немного затянут финал. 3 часовая катсцена с ходьбой по пустому пляжу были лишними

    The game is very unusual, unlike other games, this is its plus. Kojima is a genius. The music is just as wonderful as the gameplay. The plot is super and very complex. After the game, I watched a review of the plot that lasted 3 hours. A masterpiece

    Bom, eu de fato gostei muito do jogo death stranding. Mas tenho que dizer que algumas partes na gameplay são cansativas. Me fazendo cansar e me deixando ficar longe do ds por um tempo. Entretanto acabei zerando e achei a historia extremamente maravilhosa e complexa. Gostei muito das musicas que usaram no jogo, deixaram o clima excelente.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
