    Great game.I 'm surprised how ordinary walking was made so interesting.my favourite game. kojima did a good job making this gloomy world. the writing is absolutely perfect. gameplay is in my opinion really cool

    It's one of the best games I have ever played. Death stranding brought me crystal clear sincerer feelings. I must confess that I have fallen in love with this game. Kojima is a genius!!!

    This game is a masterpiece, I had so much fun playing it, the OSTs are nothing short than amazing. I feel sorry for the people who didn't liked it, but I understand why, one of the big reasons is that the game is so slow until the end of chapter 3.     One of the most interesting and beautiful game on the PS4. This game has very interesting gameplay. Deep and philosophy game plot. Atmosphere world. And very cool actors cast. Hideo Kojima is a genius!!!

    Death Stranding has finally made me realize how little I have truly enjoyed video games. I thought it was just normal to become more and more numb to games as time went on, but Death Stranding has made me feel something I haven't felt in years. This is the first game that hasn't made me mentally tired after two or three hours of play.

    I think the reason why I love Death Stranding so much is because it targets this extremely specific part of my brain that I've never really known about before. No matter how much work is put into a game like Spiderman: Miles Morales, it can't be better than something built to the exact specifications of my brain.

    Yes, I know I sound like a Kojima simp by calling this game some kind of mental manipulation trick, but that's the best way to describe it.

    Death Stranding is basically cheating by targeting this one specific part of the brain that a portion of the population has. Because this game is so finely tuned for this one portion of people, most people will not like this game.

    This isn't some kind of thing where only a minority of people are "sophisticated enough to understand this masterpiece", it's more that most people's brains are literally built different. By being so focused on one set of people, the rest of population finds it imposible to enjoy the game at all.

    While you are probably in the majority that will hate this game, the mere fact that you may be able to enjoy this game and feel the same way I am, justifies you giving it a chance and buying it on sale for around $20.

    Trust me, you won't know if you're like me until you try the game. Don't deprive yourself of the potential to find something that is essentially your very own smart drug.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If someone said to me, you are going to enjoy a walking simulator with story mode a couple of years ago, I couldn't believe it. Death stranding changed my ps4 gaming experience, and general gaming experience. The story of Sam Bridges is incredible and very mysterious. At the ending of the game i just could not tell, what happened but it was just fine. I felt like Sam died but maybe he can came back as one of these ghost and, destroy all of them from all the sudden, at the end he had bad experiences with them ale since he is very kind men, I think he is able to get rid of them for everyone and make the world better. Music in this game is gorgeous, especially when you arrive at new places and the views are simply but incredible, it makes really pleasing experience. Graphics are awesome, physics are really nice. At the point you walk slower and you get tired faster walking on snow or mountain or the random trips on small rock and the way paths are made by going on them makes the game very immersive. There are so many ways of how we can delivery our packages, we can do it on foot with big shortcuts like going past a small mountain using ladders and ropes or rebuild old roads and make huge deliveries with a truck or smaller but faster with a bike. Overall, gameplay is very refreshing and graphics, music story are pure art. Definitely a must play.… Expand

    I want to apologize to Hideo Kotzima for listening to the bad reviews and playing this masterpiece after 1 year. For me it enters my top 5 games on ps4, next to the last of us 2, red dead 2, the last guardian, shadow of the colossus.

    The game requires patience and a long attention span. The reward is a beautifully told original story set in a unique world. At times the games cleverness gets the better of it (some of the characters have cheesy names, and some attempts at humor are cringy), but ultimately it is a fantastic game well worth the work required to complete it.

    It's not a perfect due to the long tutorial and cut scenes (yes the whole chapter 2 feels like a tutorial and there are cut scenes you need to skip over and over again). It might be a walking / fetch quest to others but you can only understand the game when you reach chapter 3. Great game and the gameplay loop is addictive

    There are bridges in the flat ground, stupid towers, hundreds of very important (nope) empty post boxes and vehicles in the center of roads... yes - this game learns to us about an important of only right relations, and about of what we leave after our path.

    Kojima shows in this game all his passion for the video game and what it represents, transcending the simple concept of entertainment, creating a story not only interesting, but with deep and interesting characters. The weaknesses of the game come out especially in the shooting phases and in the more advanced parts of the game where the gampley tends to be heavy and repetitive.

    I loved the game, high quality since day one. The gameplay is slow but I prefer it that way. The game provided me with experience which I didn't get at any other game so far. The closest might Zelda Breath of Wild, but collaborative pathfinding was unique for me. i wish there would be options to skip some annoying repetitive scenes. UI is sometimes hard to read. The story ended up in aI loved the game, high quality since day one. The gameplay is slow but I prefer it that way. The game provided me with experience which I didn't get at any other game so far.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The majority of negative reviews you'll see for this game will say the same things: Slow. Boring. Not what was expected. A few hours into the game and I could see why some people were saying that. Although very definitely a Kojima game it was very definitely NOT Metal Gear Solid, or anything like it. Then again, nor was it ever trying or claiming to be.

    You start the game feeling lonely, isolated, ferrying packages between a few points and trying to figure out what to do when you encounter BTs. Anyone slating the game on the basis of this feeling of isolation, I dare say has missed the entire point of the game. You're MEANT to start out isolated, you're MEANT to start out alone and it's MEANT to completely suck.

    Underneath the stunning vista is a story of how the human race needs connections. The pace does pick up and the story is beautifully interwoven between your progress through cinematic sequences. You begin to sympathise with Sam Bridges aversion to human contact given his condition. Once you approach the end game there's a huge sense of achievement. Especially if you've taken the time to get all the waystations and so on up to maximum connection.

    You'll get attached to BB in a way that will surprise you, making certain aspects towards the end even more emotional.

    One gameplay aspect I really enjoyed is that Hideo Kojima doesn't hold your hand. It's an exploration game in more ways than one, you have to figure out menus for yourself. It's on you to figure out where the best place to concentrate your resources and buildings (spoiler: it's the snowy mountains, zip wires are a MUST).

    Kojima achieved with this game what should be the holy grail in gaming, I was left completely satisfied, and yet wanting more. Troy Baker and Norman Reedus are outstanding (because of course they are) and if there's a sequel (I don't see how, but I can hope) then they HAVE to be part of it.

    I loved this. Read the next review down and it's likely to be someone who hated it. Fact is, because it's a game that is designed to elicit emotional responses it really is one you have to experience yourself. No-one can tell you how you're going to enjoy this game or otherwise.    … Expand

    Although not a game for everyone, it is arguably one of the best experiences you can have in terms of story .The mechanics are great ,the sense of "cooperation" you have with other players is fantastic.
    I recommend playing it, its something different wich yoo will remember for a long time

Sure the big name cast and Kojimas fetish for movies shines so bright that it’s blinding, but it’s a worthwhile experience. While I would have liked Silent Hills this game is unique and has a level of polish that makes other AAA games seem a bit janky. I get people may not like this sort of style in terms of action games but it definitely does a great job in sharing its message and wrapping things nicely in the end.     I hesitate to call Death Stranding a game...it's really more of an experience. The description "genre defying" is most definitely the most appropriate way to describe Death Stranding(DS). I can't really compare DS to any single game...it really leverages bits and pieces of so many different game genres while creating a brand new experience. Some of my friends asked me why I'd play aI hesitate to call Death Stranding a game...it's really more of an experience. I can't really compare DS to any single game...it really leverages bits and pieces of so many different game genres while creating a brand new experience. Some of my friends asked me why I'd play a game where "you play a delivery man in a game that requires no skill"....and honestly...I can't disagree with their description...but I also can't agree with it either. Death Stranding (DS) is so much more than that...while also not much more than that. But I'll do my best to summarize it.

    After 2020...this game was so refreshing. Where most games encourage you to constantly "destroy" and "indiscriminately kill" all that is around you, DS encourages you to do the opposite. You're encouraged to re-build the a post apocalyptic world while helping strangers...you never actually meet in game. You can tell other players exist...but you never actually see them...but you can help them and they can help you. The game rewards you for helping and connecting people with in game "likes"...but there is no way to "dislike" something. And inevitably, other players will benefit from your paths and structures. Other players will contribute to building and up keeping your structures and I'd be you will contribute to theirs.

    As for game play mechanics....you are essentially a delivery man who goes on lots of hikes. And while this sounds super simple...it's anything but... You want to maximize the amount of cargo you can carry, but you also have to literally balance the cargo you choose with the supplies you need to complete the delivery. You'll need to "balance" the cargo you want to deliver with minimal damage, with the supplies you need to complete the delivery. If you take the direct route, you'll likely encounter some conflicts along the way the requires fighting supplies. But if you take a longer route, it'll be more difficult terrain that not only requires you to bring extra supplies but will require more patience to find a route where you won't fall over and damage your cargo. And along the way, "walking" will require you to manage multiple controls. Kojima was so detailed in this game design, that you have to use the left/right triggers to balance the weight on your back along with not only the terrain, but the wind and currents. It's so incredibly simple and yet so complex.

    I also find it very interesting that "killing" in this game is possible, but also highly discouraged. If you kill a living being, you have to dispose of their body or risk a "void out" which essentially is a game over moment requiring you to reload from a save point. It's totally possible to accomplish a disposal...but it's also a major pain discouraging killing a living thing. I know some won't enjoy this...but I personally found it so refreshing. I never intentionally killed another player/NPC. But I did accidentally kill one NPC....that I mistook for an in game hologram by running them over with a vehicle. I was compelled to get out of the vehicle and check on the character even though time was ticking for a timed delivery. I was heart broken while I watched his NPC's partner grieve over their partner/porter's body. It was a total accident and still so emotionally impactful even though it was an accident.

    As for the story, cinematics, and music.....WOW! I'm still in awe. I'm not going to claim the script was flawless...but the story was VERY WELL done. In various parts of the game, you'll have some eye rolling moments where there is quirky dialogue and you'll question why some character names are so very...cliche. But I PROMISE that if you complete the game you won't regret it. The overall story is very well told and complete by the end of the game. I can't even begin to describe how many emotional roller coasters I experienced while playing the game. I was so fortunate to have a friend who had recently finished the game that I could share my experiences with. If you can share the experience with a friend...I'd highly recommend it.

    At the beginning I said this was more of an experience than a game...and I still hold to that claim. I do think you need to play the entire game to appreciate that experience. I know it's hard these days to trust a creator..but I'd highly encourage you to trust Kojima and play through the entire game. It is possible to play the entire game only focusing on the "main" missions, but I suspect you'll instinctively start to complete side missions which will help you along the way.

    Overall...I can't effectively communicate how much I appreciated this game. It's absolutely fantastic!!!! As tempting as a 10/10 was...DS isn't without flaws, but no game/experience is. The music and pacing was fantastic. I wish I had more characters...so I'll end with just EXPERIENCE DEATH STRANDING!    … Expand

    There are some problems with this game.
    Sometimes the Physics of vehicles pisses you off, enemies are annoying, tracks are sometimes boring. But the story, the music of Low Roar, and Iceland views make this game special for me.

    It is a great game without a good gameplay. I've recently achieved a platinum and i want to kill myself. Kojima did something strange yet beautiful. Wandering around is not only boring but hard. However all of this disappears when i see the story. Not only is it filled with metaphors, great characters, brilliant plot twists and the consuming mystery that brought me to the end. I'm studyingIt is a great game without a good gameplay. I've recently achieved a platinum and i want to kill myself. Kojima did something strange yet beautiful. I'm studying as a scriptwriter and i can confidently say that if this game was a movie it would be 11/10. What ruins it for many people is the gameplay aspect. Unfortunately i'm obligated to agree since that is true. Controls on ps4 feel amazing and interactions with monsters (i don't mean energy drinks) feel even more frightening because of the smooth vibrations. But vehicle controls… Don't even attempt to drive a transport on a road that has more than 1 rock on it, unless it is a transporting skateboard. The music part hits really good just in time, but i'm disappointed about a fact that you're actually not able to listen to it freely while being on your way.

    U should buy this game if you support the idea that videogames are the evolution from books and movies, if you're really disappointed about The Last Of Us 2 script or if you want some really strong story.    … Expand

    Death Stranding is a kind of anti-game, taking apart what video games really are and what is their purpose. Many people call it a walking simulator and at the first glance it really is just that. The trick is that going from one point to another, figuring out the routes, making choices, building structures that will help you and others to traverse difficult terrain gave me more fun than vast majority of action-packed games ever did. Making deliveries became an addiction for me for many hours. You don't have to shoot people to have fun fighting obstacles in a game.

    The other thing is the story, which is incredibly deep and moving near the end of the game. I would compare it to the best sci-fi films in history, like 2001: Space Odyssey or Interstellar. It's epic but also touching and intimate. It makes you wonder what's the meaning of life, what will happen in the future, it questions your beliefs and morality. It left me literally in tears at the end of the game and I will never forget that.

    At last, the graphics and music. It's a delicious cherry on top. Almost every frame in the game could be a perfect wallpaper, it's so mesmerising. The thing I keep coming to the most is probably the music though. It's one the best soundtracks ever. Ryan Karazija, who made most of the songs in the game, is one of the biggest musical discoveries for me in the last decade.

    I love this game. It has its flaws, like shallow fighting system, little bugs and glitches, but it's constantly on my mind and I can't stop thinking about it. I was never a Kojima fan, I never cared about MGS series. Buy now I'm waiting eagerly what his next creation will be.    … Expand

The world felt empty... but i need to say after 20h o find that actually nice. It let me chill after busy day and enjoy the views.
    Story - the stand out part of the title. Its original and full of hitting moments. I cried like 2 times during the ending. It something that really impacted me as a player.
    Graphics - just wow.
    Music - hard to rate as the game goes almost silent most of the time... But as you going downhill after that hard walkthrough and game starts playing low roar.. wow.

I too was someone that saw this game coming with previews and the reviews I saw really put me off seeing as though it appeared to really just be package delivery boy the game so I didn't buy it. However I just bought the game 4 days ago and I seriously couldn't be more excited to keep playing. About 5 hrs in definitely starts to feel like your doing nothing but after you get to the wind farm things really start to pick up. If your playing or haven't tried it yet all you need to know is yes the beginning is a bit slow but the story keeps you motivated. However if you feel it's starting to drag than just stick to main story missions. After that just make it at least to the lake. Give it to the lake and I promise you will not be able to put it down. I totally understand why people hate this game as its definitly not for everyone. But it is really a fun great game and I'm not even normally a Kojima fan but after this game I sure as hell am a fan kow. This game is great and only gets an 8 because some times it doesn't really drag for a little and a few cheap feeling times enemies caught me that were just impossible to avoid but oh so much fun to try and run away before your able to fight lol… Expand

    After all the mindblowing trailers and mystified info the expectations were obviously over the top. Did the game deliver? Well, not quite. The overly convoluted story is fascinating, the exceptional production value is apparent, well, mostly, excessively repetitive cutscenes during pick-ups and deliveries spoil the impression a bit. But the biggest issue stems from the unseriousness of the presentation. Being sometimes mocking and silly boded well for MGS series, even it's sometimes deliberate cheesiness fit well. But that doesn't go well with Death Stranding, moreover, it crosses the line from entertaining to ridiculous. It gives the impression that Kojima didn't trust himself to present the story in the full seriousness. The overly cheesiness (breaking the fourth wall you say?!) and silliness at some points pull the player out of the immersion and enjoyment.

    Gameplay - this is what everybody was concerned about at the beginning and where the game arguably would fall short: BORING. I can feel others who think like that, but not me. I genuinely enjoyed playing the game. Of course the gameworld and overall atmosphere contributed a lot. There's a constant haunting serenity in Death Stranding, where even strolling from A to B is satisfying. But of course there's not only that. The gameplay is an evolution of MGS V in some sense. Where many games do a good job of providing a smooth progression curve, or upfront allow to play a short portion with a leveled up character, to give a glimpse of what's to come, Death Stranding is unforgiving (especially if you play on Hard difficulty). You are thrown into this hostile world with only a few tools to survive and it's genuinely hard at the beginning, but once you progress, you gain more experience and more gadgets to help you with the deliveries. The progression does not merely make the game easier, but elevates the gameplay to a new level, where the whole gamestyle changes. And when passing through the locations you've visited earlier, you catch yourself occasionally reminiscing on the troubles you've had. The early routine is mainly about anxiously navigating from start to the destination, but as you progress, especially if you go for 100% completion, you spend more time planning optimal routes and resources, and don't hesitate to confront BTs and Mules. Here the whole shared world concept deserves mentioning. Once you open new areas and connect them to the network, you begin sharing the game world with other players. Some aspects of that are very well thought through, like upgrading, repairing and using the structures of other players, or having your structures upgraded and repaired by the others. The structures that prove to be useful are being well taken care of(and of provide many 'likes' - an in-game rating). Some other concepts though, like donating materials, delivering other players' lost cargoes don't provide enough incentive and seem redundant.

    Verdict.
    The game for sure generated divergent opinions. Some consider it Kojima's best creation, others claim Death Stranding is simply an overhyped junk. I say it's definitely worth trying as it provides some unique experience and an interesting story. But once you start, you need to overcome the initial frustration and let the game grow on you.    … Expand

    I stayed away from the game for so long because of the walking simulator reviews. It’s anything but! Definitely more of a hiking simulator ;) and a **** brilliant one! Beautiful looking game. Makes me feel calm, hiking/adventuring through amazing scenery. Highly recommend.

I walked up Mount Chiliad in GTA V just to enjoy the graphics. I always faced video games above the challenges, as a traveler. Death Stranding is a game made for me. The story is enigmatic and you have to pay a lot of attention to actually understand some of the plot elements. The gameplay is addicting as fck to me. Yes, its just a bunch of glorifiedI can completely see how this can not be someone´s cup of tea, but I just love everything about this game. The world is absolutely amazing, the worldbuilding is, while a bit lenghty at times, fantastic. The story is enigmatic and you have to pay a lot of attention to actually understand some of the plot elements. The gameplay is addicting as fck to me. Yes, its just a bunch of glorified fetch quests, but the beautiful graphics, world, music, attention to detail, surprisingly stressful situations and just the satisfaction you get by every single quest make up for it. In my opinion a bizarre masterpiece, not for everyone, but if you have a bit of patience, Kojima will deliver you one of the best videogame worlds I have ever seen.

    Das Spiel ist einfach unfassbar gelungen, was ich niemals gedacht hätte und gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsspielen.

    When I first started playing this I thought for the first few hours it was some standard horror game. Turned out to be the opposite and is the best delivery game ever. If this could be the life of a courier I would change careers!

    All in all I think about this game regularly. It is definitely one of my favourites. Beautiful graphics and perfect ambience.

    Death Stranding is without a doubt one of the weirdest games I've ever had the privilege of playing which I suppose is to be expected from one gaming's greatest icon's himself. I can understand where people are coming from when they say this game isn't for everyone because the way I see it, most people think of fun video games as primarily just mindless hack and slashing, shooting others,Death Stranding is without a doubt one of the weirdest games I've ever had the privilege of playing which I suppose is to be expected from one gaming's greatest icon's himself. I can understand where people are coming from when they say this game isn't for everyone because the way I see it, most people think of fun video games as primarily just mindless hack and slashing, shooting others, and innovative gameplay but not delivering packages or complex stories but to be completely honest with you, after putting more than 100 hours into this game for the platinum, I personally believe the people who are giving this game a 0 didn't even bother playing this because this game is so much more than just a lifeless open world delivery game. The main thing to understand what I mean is that I wouldn't describe this world as "lifeless" since there's plenty of lost cargo along the path meaning you can decide to stop and quickly pick it up making sure it's a mindless point A to B path with nothing to look at since the lost cargo all over the place will make sure you keep a careful eye all over the place. It's not even like there's nothing to look at even without the lost cargo since the graphics are PHENOMENAL even for a base PS4 to complement the atmosphere to ensure it's both relaxing which I can imagine is what a lot of people play games for and it stays in your head on what a post apocalyptic world would look like and it also helps the performance is excellent since the frame stays LOCKED to 30 FPS which is especially impressive for a world this detailed even for a PS4 Pro. The way how the gameplay is more fun than it looks since your cargo is heavy and the world is also a challenge with terrain potentially posing a danger to cargo making you plan out and experiment on how to get past the challenge and it's always satisfying when you do it. I'm not kidding when I say the sandbox a big strength of this game since you could overcome a challenge or reach a destination however you want; for example, I decided to try and kill all the human enemies and cremate their bodies to see what would happen and sure enough, their bodies NEVER came back making me feel rewarded I tried an experiment. The "emptiness" is intended since you can build any types of structures you want but there's also other structures other players made and when you use them/make structures, you're helping other people out and they're helping you to make you and others understand that in order to save America (or let's face it as gamers, probably just get the platinum trophy), we need to work together and unite as one which now that I think about it, must've been Kojima's plan all along. Whoever made this soundtrack should get a raise because there's not a whole lot of music but then when it does come up, it shows up when you're about to finish a difficult delivery and it genuinely feels like a massive burden is lifted off your shoulders and you feel so relived thanks to the soothing music. Finally, the story is frankly complex and convoluted and that in return is what makes it incredible but it's really the characters surrounding the story that makes it something special because without them, this story would've fallen flat on it's face since a good story is completely around it's characters to tell it. HOWEVER, I don't think this game is perfect and even though Kojima is quite an icon in the gaming industry, even he isn't immune from criticism and I've seen plenty of people say these flaws are his "style" but to be clear, just because it's his style doesn't make it good. Like even though the physics are amazing, they're not perfect since Sam could slip and act like he hit a wall even when a rock the size of his knee caps is in the way and it's extra annoying when you feel your cargo shouldn't have gotten damaged like this. The performances are great for the most part, but there was this one character who was just downright HORRIBLE especially considering this is a AAA game. Finally, what I believed created of the initial negative first impressions, nothing happens in the first 4 chapters. To be frank, it's not the players job to continue on throughout the game to see what happens, the developers need to get the players engaged from the very beginning otherwise players are gonna think this is how the game is gonna be for the rest of the game which is clearly not true. Overall, despite it's flaws, Death Stranding is one of the most unique games I've ever played and I'm so happy I played it since I haven't felt both this relaxed and lost in a video game for quite and a while and if you can get past the first 4 chapters, I can happily recommend this game and I can't wait to see what Kojima has to offer for the sequel.
    EDIT: Actually, scratch what I said, the human enemies I killed DID come back but that wasn't for a LOT longer than if I knocked them out    … Expand

No começo o jogador sofre com a mecânica e acharão as entregas maçantes e repetitivas, mas depois que pega o jeito do jogo, você quer realizar todas as entregas. Os cenários são maravilhosos. He was the key of this game strength therefore well deserved best performance award, despite all that the only reason of not giving this game a 10 is the slow pacing in the middle of campaign duo to the repititive gameplay

    This game is a masterpiece. The graphics are awesome. Great music. It's nice with voices in Polish. Katscenki are impressive, they are refined, often epic. Mega twisted game world. Great views. A powerful climate. The interface is sometimes not very readable, but after some time I got it. It's fun to think about. Physics and the fact that you can even trip over a stone, slip onThis game is a masterpiece. The graphics are awesome. Great music. It's nice with voices in Polish. You can wash, pee, **** sleep, massage, etc. Nir has a problem with reading textures. The world is vast, you can enter anywhere. After heavy orders, there is great satisfaction when, for example, you have to go to the top of the mountains where the blows are freezing with the motor, you cannot do it and then you are pulled in by the tar 3 times which spreads goods from your backpack and then your skeleton is discharged and there is no charger nearby and you do not have you have an assembler or you are not within the hieral network.     I've platinum-ed this game with 120+ hours of gameplay.
    This is not just a walking stimulator. Glad that I didn't listen to the trend and brought it and played it.
    Fantastic experience for a true gamer that have patient to really enjoy a game.

    This game is not even close for everybody. If you are looking for an action experience, this is not the game for you. It’s a video game with meditative gameplay, fantastic music and great world detail.
    Death stranding is talking story about people.
    This game is the living world that transformed not only thanks for you, but by the other players.
    It’s wow.

Cependant j'étais attiré par les échos qui précisaient que le scénario était excellent. J'ai donc décidé un jour de me lancer en espérant ne pas me lasser des quêtes de livraison. Et là en quelques heures seulement j'ai été captivé par la découverte, les paysages grandioses, les morceaux musicaux sélectionnés qui vous transportent totalement (Low Roar / Silent Poets / Woodkid dans la director's cut).
    J'ai pris une grosse claque et j'ai été fasciné par cette expérience. C'était mon premier Kojima ! (jamais joué aux Metal Gear), c'était mon premier Platine PS4 ;)    … Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
