    As an unbiased person to shooters and not in the bandwagon with the "BF3 or MW3 fanboys," I can rate this game as to what it deserves. The story mode is rather short...and really got alot of hyped up events that didn't even happen. And of course the story itself is..quite mediocre. The multiplayer feels rather unpolished as I can see many bugs happen while I'm playing.     Singleplayer experience is much better than MW2, although it still feels like it is directed by Michael Bay. Though for an action game, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Spec Ops is pretty fun, with the missions providing a decent amount of fun. However, Survival Mode is where the real fun lies in Spec Ops. It's always fresh when you can play on any multiplayer map.     The Sp was not very engaging it was just run from point a 2 point B .. Mp is ok. I had hoped for more . but it is enjoyable . I think they should have put more time in to it ... only 2 player survival is boring i want 4 person

    great sequel but no innovation and seem an expansive to mw2. but the game isn't for 3,2 user score

    MW3 is quite disappointing but for any COD fans is still worth playing. It does feel like it has been copy and pasted though and unfortunately gets boring quicker than previous titles in the series.

    Being the leading FPS selling game there must be something in the CoD series that people like. Myself i am struggling to see what everyone else sees. There has been no huge advancement in the last few itterations and that is what dissapoints me the most.     Average, that's all, this game is the definition of average. The graphics aren't improved at all from MW2 and Black Ops. The story is quite good if you like a rollercoaster, co-op is awesome with friends but MP is horribly unbalanced with no proper developer support.

    3 hour campaign glad I only rented it to see the conclusion of the series. Apart from that there is nothing new here kids, move on.

With a brand new spec ops survival mode, players are certainly going to sink hours into this with an all new ranking mode, guns to unlock and different maps to unlock. The single player campaign has its ups and downs and is overall pretty decent. Although the multiplayer seems to be very similar to previous games, with tons ofModern Warfare 3 is just another marvel from infinity ward.     This is the most expensive map pack for modern warfare 2 that I've ever seen. Seriously, I already played this game three years ago. This is the kind of thing that happens when you fire everyone responsible for making the games great and then immediately crank out a sequel.     I had a feeling this would happen again after black ops, another 60 dollar map pack. Very disapointed with the "profesional" critics giving this game such high marks. Will not spend any more money on Cod until they finally do some real innovation and not just tweaks.

    the French version is not terrible, the sound track is magnificent but does not stick totally with the rhythm of the game. It was much better in MW2, the new mode survives is really stunning, I would never have believed to see such a thing one cheek and MW3 made it, bravo in its incredibly talented developers. The multiplayer in the rather sublime sight, I tested it only once and it wasthe French version is not terrible, the sound track is magnificent but does not stick totally with the rhythm of the game. It was much better in MW2, the new mode survives is really stunning, I would never have believed to see such a thing one cheek and MW3 made it, bravo in its incredibly talented developers. The multiplayer in the rather sublime sight, I tested it only once and it was completed. The mode campaign is as for him of a beauty and an incomparable, rare direction are the times when I saw such a so realized apocalypse!

    MW3 was clearly a 60 dollar mappack to MW2 and it borrowed heavily from Black Ops. It's great in it's own right- the fact that people would annually dish out 60 dollars for the same rehashed game, and, all in all, it is good, basic, arcade fun. It will sell over 10 million.     I was a cod fan, played every single game of cod and mw3 too, but never again, this is a constant deja-vu, and the overpriced dlcs......... is very sad to see how activition kills his franchises, tony hawk, guitar hero and now COD (R.I.P)

    For me, this is the first CoD I've ever owned, I played a bit of MW2 with some friends the weekend before this release. Yes, they are pretty much the same, I haven't touched the MP, because I don't care for it, I have other games for that, I can't stand the campaign, very boring.     "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This has been the general approach regarding development of the Call of Duty series for the past few years, and it still remains true for Modern Warfare 3. The campaign is as you would expect from the Call of Duty series; a short, action packed, enjoyable but rather forgettable experience. The overall spectacle flare from Modern Warfare 2 returns and the"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This has been the general approach regarding development of the Call of Duty series for the past few years, and it still remains true for Modern Warfare 3. The campaign is as you would expect from the Call of Duty series; a short, action packed, enjoyable but rather forgettable experience. The overall spectacle flare from Modern Warfare 2 returns and the story is slightly easier to follow, but just as forgettable over all. Spec Ops Mode also makes a return, with short missions that can be completed with a friend or on your own, with a few exceptions. These missions take some of the more memorable moments of the campaign and tweaks them up to make them even more intense. This time a new mode titled Spec Ops Survival has been added. This mode is similar to the horde mode of other game you may have played such as Halo and Gears of War. Surviving wave after wave of varying enemy types with a large variety of weapons and air support options across all the multiplayer maps, whether alone or with a friend it is always intense and insanely fun. Now, onto the main reason why this game exists, competitive online multiplayer. This remains largely the same as it was in Modern Warfare 2, but with a few new tweaks to the formula. There is less of a focus on killstreak rewards with the implementation of different types of strike packages. Assault contains the usual kill steaks that have been included in previous COD games. Support contains mostly non-lethal rewards that benefit the team overall, these rewards do require kills in order to earn them, but the count does not restart every time you die. Finally, there is the specialisation package that acts the same way as the Assault killstreak, but grants a new perk to your class instead of giving a new killstreak reward. The maps themselves aren't the strongest they've been in the series, but most of them have a nice flow during objective based game modes and none of them are god-awful. Overall, Modern Warfare 3 recycles a lot of old material from it's predecessor, but overall it is a strong package, and with the amount of multiplayer game modes and the almost infinite replay of Spec Ops Survival, you do get your money's worth from it. TL/DR: A refined version of the COD formula, don't expect to see any true innovation. Overall, a solid package.… Expand

You just can't stop playing this game, as it pushes in copious amounts of adrenaline which you never get from any other game out there. The game-play is better, cinematics improved.     I'm Spanish and here the people who know about FPS are disappointed with MW3 the same thing over and over every year. Sincerely, a company that doesn't listen the users not worth that people buy their game.
    It's frustrating that a company that earns a thousand times more than the cost to make a game doesn't improve their game. Far better B3.

The lack of vehicle's and broken class system creates a very very dry and plain experience. The visuals are still comparable to my PlayStation 2, voice acting and sound ofModern Warfare 3 is the exact same game with a different name, terrible Campaign that you finish in 3 and half hours, with the most irregular irritating little maps that you literally spawn on your enemy's shoulders.     fantastic. if you like mw1 and 2 this is pretty much the same but with little improvements that make it even more fantastic. the multiplayer is soo fun plus the new survival mode is intensity in ten cities.

    Great game. Anyone complaining about hit detection or lagging servers should upgrade their dial up internet. I'm not sure what people hope to achieve with a direct sequal, it's still modern warfare how much do people actually think guns have changed in the past two years. highly recommend to anyone who isn't using ancient internet.

    Bad connections to games, never lets me join any server disconnected constantly, maps are rubbish, hit detections fails, back to black ops :) they need to patch mw3 soon or they will lose alot of players to bf3,

    we play that game a lot at 2009 now you make it only servers then you call it new game for just more $$.you can make all the new things as DLC for 10$ not new game .I will not lost my money for second time.I hate black ops servers not server in my **** I did't enjoy the online .now i feal the game just copy and paste.even the Grenades saunds like COD2 till now !!

    My thirteen, that's right, THIRTEEN year old brother described this game as "Modern Warfare 2.5" as it brings almost nothing new to the table, yet sports a $60 pricetag. I myself grew weary of the series around MW2, so I did not purchase it, however watching my little brother play, I can confirm it looks EXACTLY like MW2.
    Not worth your money, stay away.

What kills the rest of the score is the terrible spawn system which is the same complaint people had back in MW1. Things like not spawning all over and being killed the second you do or things like actually being able to get in a game. And instead of new graphics, they fixed complains from previous cod's . I finished the campaign and loved it. I like added options to play with an online partner in spec ops, the additional weapon perks in multiplayer, and in general I am enjoying the game. I am experiencing some problems connecting to friends in private match and i'm not sure if you can connect to friends in spec ops, but that is saying unable to join session also. In MW2 and Black Ops this is working fine in private matches so I'm thinking it's a mw3 issue that will get resolved in a patch. We'll see.. when I started playing just after the midnight release, there were a few connection issues, but they were intermittent and made me have to click find match a couple of extra times. Compared to the problems that black ops had when it was release, MW3's connection issues were mild. Overall I see it as a successfull release with some updates needing to be sent out.… Expand

    All Around great game. Solid Multiplayer, Campaign and Spec Ops Mode. Worth Your Money. The maps in multiplayer are great! There are a limited amount of "camp" spots and barely any head glitching spots. Definitely better than Black Ops.

    I gave this game a 5 because it's more of the same. Same dated engine. Few refinements. If you played Mw2 your not missing much besides the story which in my opinion is it's strongest point.

    I'm someone who craves innovation, and if your like me, look elsewhere.

    For the hardcore Cod Fans that like Stale and Repetitive gameplay, than pick this one up.

The new survival mode is a love it or hate it situation. I personally love it but only if I'm playing it with friends.     I don't know what everyone is so disappointed in, you know what you're getting into with MW, in my opinion it's the best yet. The campaign has been refined and the story has been concluded, and they've tweaked multiplayer so that it's just as good as ever, if not better. I somewhat wish they would have included the wager match game modes again though.

This isn't a deviation from what made MW1 and 2 great - those looking for something different won't find it here. Those who enjoy call of duty will enjoy this, simple, those who don't enjoy call of duty will still purchase the game and write a bad review.

    leider absolut grottiges Game, der Singleplayer erinnert mehr an Rambo oder einen Uwe Boll Action Film, von Call of Duty oder Modern Warefare nichts mehr zu sehen. Gegner Welle nach Gegner Welle, da hat Battlefield 3 es geschafft deutlich authentischer rüberzukommen.

    Multiplayer ist leider auch ein Witz, wieder keine Dedicated Server mehr für Ranked Matches,    leider absolut grottiges Game, der Singleplayer erinnert mehr an Rambo oder einen Uwe Boll Action Film, von Call of Duty oder Modern Warefare nichts mehr zu sehen. Gegner Welle nach Gegner Welle, da hat Battlefield 3 es geschafft deutlich authentischer rüberzukommen.

    Of course, the SP experience is the same as always, but what do you expect? Everyone wants Bigger, better, bad ass and that's what we get. The multiplayer is the best in the series and will keep me a long time handcuffed to my xbox.

    The game is fun no matter what others say, they will complain about everything. Alot of people are giving it crap due to it feeling just like mw2, but personally I feel like thats a good thing.

    Toujours la même chose. Le plaisir de jouer reste mais c'est tellement moche et les cartes si petites ! 2012 devra être une révolution, ne serait-ce que du point de vue des graphismes parce que sinon, les ventes vont chuter drastiquement. A bon entendeur !

    These three games, even if they have not been elected the best games of the year were very well received by players. Why? Ben by what these games are really good.

    Modern Warfare 3 is the same.

    The history of the single player is very good and unfortunately as short as 2.
    The multiplayer is as good as the two with a lot of new additions that are pretty nice.
    The few new mode of play is very nice.

    So yes I will go on Metacritic, so I'm going to put a 20/20 to make it back, and yes I agree with activision because their game was really under rated by the players!
    Why?

    Today by criticizing something that millions of people admire became a fashion.
    It's cool to say, "This is great game? Bwahhh not dropped me I'm not a sheep it is bad!"

    10/10 =) i don't speack english because i'm french but this is a very good game, the best FPS, more than BF3 ^^

    Decu, j'ai pas trouvé de grandes nouveautées avec en plus un filtre ps3 blanchatre et de l'aliasing alors que sur 360 il n'y en a pas.
    Plus il y a du des batiments du premier Modern Warfare recyclé dans celui ci.

    MW3 is a good game, not a masterpiece nor a **** .... I enjoy playing it and that's what counts.
    That looks like MW2 is normal, after all, is always spoken of COD

    First of all, THIS game is excellent! The aiming is spot-on and the gameplay is just as fast paced as it has always been. There's no problem with running around and having random objects pop in out of nowhere. Many improvements have been made to the gameplay as well, along with some new features that I haven't seen before.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If the game was the first of its series (Modern Warfare), it would be a 10. But it's not, and it's too easy to compare it to older games.

    For $60 two years after the release of MW2 you should be getting way more advanced graphics or better engine.

    I loved Modern Warfare and when Modern Warfare 2 came out I was blown away. I like the way that the maps where so realistic and multi-dimentional. I liked that you could climb up and on everything there was a great balance for all classes. The new modern warfare feels like you just run in circles hoping that you can get a few kills before a 1st lvl player kills you. I have no problem withI loved Modern Warfare and when Modern Warfare 2 came out I was blown away. I like the way that the maps where so realistic and multi-dimentional. I liked that you could climb up and on everything there was a great balance for all classes. The new modern warfare feels like you just run in circles hoping that you can get a few kills before a 1st lvl player kills you. I have no problem with cutting down on the camping but this is the other extreme its just to much running with no stratagy at all.     plus complet dans l'ensemble et plus complex pour la config des armes, atouts etc seul bémol le élite payant (grrr)

    mettre ici des zéro comme note n'est pas réaliste et dénote une envie de descendre ce jeu c'est juste du foutage de gueule

    I like Call of Duty but for me MW2 and Black Ops are better than MW3.
    There is no great improvement :/
    Hoping for updates to improve the game.

    There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
