I also have this game for the 360 as well an wrote a review there also. I gave it a big fat egg for the PS3. You mean you couldn't even port the hit marker sounds over to the Ps3 once again showing that you treat Ps3 as second class gamers. Do not buy this game till it goes down in price

I seriously think I just played MW2: DLC. I'm just glad I didn't spend $60 for this game. It was a rental, and other than new levels, new guns, and a slightly different class system... it's the same exact game.

MW3 is just the "improved version" of MW2. So what they didn't do much to change it ? Yes, the brought a pure, good game back. The Graphics are 1080p, MW3 < BF3

Please don't waste you time on this game. It has so many flaws with the game play. Unless you enjoy playing against bots I suggest you find a different game that has had all the bugs worked out.
It is impossible to play missions with a friend like advertised. I will be buying battlefield and throwing this junk game away.

Remember when developers used to make sequels that added something new? Neither does Actiblizzard. I'd like to say this is the third time this game has come out- but considering black ops doesn't add anything new I'm starting to lose track of the number of times this exact game has been released. Oh, but nobody gets CoD for the campaign, it's for the pvp! Yes- true enough, and guess what- MW1 still did it better. I have to give them props though- they've found an amazing way to milk suckers out of their money with zero effort; and look at how games everywhere are becoming crap as they try to emulate this money for nothing style of developing.

This game series is everything that is wrong with gaming- if not current society in general.

In defense of MW3 as a creative work, Activision and company have been resting on those laurels for the last 4 COD titles. It just took this last one for the majority of consumers to notice. I say "last one" because if you, the consumer, allow this franchise to steal your money again you're crazy. Much like all the reviewers who gave this game anything abouve a 7 out of 10. So while this game is of the same quality COD 4 Modern Warfare was, it is shameful to exploit a game engine so many times in one generation. I dare to say that we got what we deserve though. Expand

Hello fellow gamers. Today I will give all you gamers a completely honest review of the game Modern Warfare 3. It isHello fellow gamers. Today I will give all you gamers a completely honest review of the game Modern Warfare 3. I will give you my approximate game time in each mode to help you decide if you want this game. First off I want to say that the campaign is preatty good although very short and feels like more missions to mw2, (this could be good or bad depending on whether you liked mw2). It is highly cinematic and very intense. The high intensity and the fairly good story is great but the fact that it only took me four and a half hours to complete it is preatty terrible. Now time for the spec ops. The missions in this game are kind of dissapointing to me. Where as in mw2 you had to earn a certain amount of stars to unlock the next set of missions, mw3 allows you to unlock them through levelling up your spec ops rank. This wouldn't be too bad but you unlock all the missions while you are still a fairly low level. The survival mode is better then the missions, however it is still no zombies. In total I spent around 8 hours with the spec ops mode. Now on to the main selling factor... Multiplayer. First off I think it is very impressive how infinity ward included 15-16 maps. The multiplayer in this game is feels very recycled. The main thing in this game that makes it feel fresh is the new strike packages. I also found it fun to level up in this game because there is so much to unlock. However after you have seen all there is to unlock I found I didnt really have much to do any more because just playing for the fun after you have seen the unlock feels highly boring because it feels just like mw2 which I played the heck out of. I have roughly 30 hours on this multiplayer component. My verdict is that if you have owned past call of duty's and played them a lot then you might want to stay out of this one and pick up a more quality release like battlefield 3 uncharted 3 or skyrim. On the other hand if you have never owned a call of duty before now is the perfect chance and this game will give you more enjoyment then past call of duty's. I would give this game around a four or five if you own past cod's and a solid eight if you havn't there fore decideing to give it a six. :D Expand

Some, like Infinity Ward, believe their MP sucess comes from updating the MultiPlayer Scene every year. This is WRONG. The one thing that severly collapses this game is the lack of flaking routes, leading to extremely defensive gameplay, extremely long sight lines except for a few maps ( People being a douche with an ACR camping their buttocks off ), and the godawful spawning system. The one thing that severly collapses this game is the lack of flaking routes, leading to extremely defensive gameplay, extremely long sight lines except for a few maps ( People being a douche with an ACR camping their buttocks off ), and the godawful spawning system. In this sense it is the WORST game in the seires. However, This can also be described as the BEST game of the series. The weapon, perk, proficency, and equipment balance seems to have been extremely stressed. The proficiencies have made unpopular or unusuable weapons quite effictive. I also like the new sounds despite the Deagles wimpy sound. The addition of Survival mode has made the co-op section of MW3 compete with Black Ops's Zombies. The SP is decent and will provide a good 4 hours of challenging fun. I felt that CoD4's SP was better, but the last mission of MW3 was a stumper and added a strong closing to the Modern Warfare Series. To me, both quanitity and quality were in mind with this game. New modes, more weapons to tinker with, and will certainly fill your appitite for newness, at least until the DLC comes around. However, I still feel they went overboard on quality and quantity of content (other than maps) and dragged the maps behind. This game is my grandmother stuffing bittersweet chocolate into my mouth. I've never wrote a review before but after seeing the score this game has received I feel like I should. I did however enjoy the CoD4 references such as Kamarov and Cpt. MacMillan making small returns and watching the sniper shot to Zakhaev and Al Asads nuke going off from the other side too. I wasn't a fan of the original spec ops and I'm not too impressed here either. The missions are recylced with different objectives and I personally didn't find it all that fun, even with a friend. Survival mode is a new addition to mirror Nazi Zombies and holds up well. You can choose from any map to play on and have access to air support and an armory. It's fun but why can you only play with one friend? If you could play up to 4 it'd be even better. Now the main part of CoD, the multiplayer. On paper it seems the most balanced CoD yet, there doesn't seem to be any overpowered perks and strike packages add a new twist to let even the worst of the players achieve something. The weapon leveling I approve of too. But the map design is awful, I could find 2 or 3 maps that I really enjoyed to play on. The rest have no flow to them. I'm not the best CoD player nor the worst but even I couldn't find that much fun to be had here. It's still a lot of headless chickens running about with UMPs or ACR's and you're killed almost instantly. Still it's always fun to kill half an hour or so. Overall I'm not impressed with this game. It is the same as before which is both good and bad but the CoD series is getting very boring to me now. If anybody reads this I hope it somewhat helps you. Thanks for reading and this is only my opinion. Expand

I also know that these games are created for the online/multiplayer/cooperative play community. Online, multiplayer, cooperative play has never interested me, and though the single-player campaign in MW3 is short, it is good - fast paced and fun. I mainly play war games as an "in-between". After playing longer, more involved games (i.e. RPGs) I enjoy playing a snack-sized game that doesn't require a whole lot of commitment or time. Once I'm done, I'm again ready to take on something with more substance. First the multiplayer. My #1 issue is that it's really sensitive to lag. Now, you're probably thinking, "Oh he must have a really bad connection." That's actually true. I live in a university dorm. The internet connection couldn't be more temperamental. But BF3's multiplayer runs mostly lag-free, and when it does lag it cleans up pretty nicely. Not even MW2 or MW lags as bad as MW3. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
Second, the campaign. It's too short (unsurprisingly). While it is action packed and surprisingly fun, it took me less than 5 hours to beat it. Not good. What's more, it can be frustrating sometimes. I'm not going to give away anything, but one level where you have to control an assault drone comes to mind. It can't take much damage or else you're dead. It can get EXTREMELY frustrating because it's all too likely drive right past an enemy without realizing out. Then they take you out from behind and you're left there, scratching your head wondering what happened. Don't even get me started with the helicopter part of it.

Camping, glitching, glitched spawning, spawning where campers are camping to kill you, ridiculous throwing knife and explosion kills made this game a terrible experience. I played this game out to level 72 prestige 1 and I hated the whole thing. I thought there was something I was missing, perhaps I just needed more experience? Oh what horrors this game plagued me with. The entire COD reputation has been tarnished by this uncreative and manipulative money-whore of a game. I regret ever desiring this garbage. I planned to get back into the FPS genre with this game but this game has made it so I'll never return. The sad part is that millions of people thought at one point that this game would revolutionize the FPS genre. COD is only good in theory a.k.a. game trailers, not in actual games. Not anymore. Even worse than the cheaters is Activision's apparent tolerance of them - even though it's obvious that the laggers account for a huge amount of the connection problems that you're sure to encounter every single gaming section. Graphics:
People often bash the game for graphics, but the graphics are actually quite well done. Moving on.

    Story:
The story leaves off from Modern Warfare 2, where the Russians are attacking the U.S.! Why? Because of the infamous "No Russian" mission from Modern Warfare 2, which Makarov, the main antagonist and leader of the Ultranationalist terrorists, blamed the U.S. for the massacre at the airport. Anyways, the Russian president was going to sign a peace treaty with the Americans, but Makarov captured him, cancelling the treaty. The Russo-American war goes on and eventually develops into World War III.

I just wanna get to gameplay, so, just to wrap the story up, it seems to be a repeat of a lot of story lines.

And now, the part I wanted to discuss from the start, Gameplay:
Gameplay should be familiar to veteran CoD players. Aim. Shoot. Kill. Hunt for play. Rinse. Repeat. Simple as that. However, the combat often takes place in close quarters, making SMGs and shotguns preferred over most weaponry. The maps often vary highly, but often give a similar experience each time I play it. The concrete pipe in Hardhat has massive firefights, the hilltop in Mission is a large fighting zone. In fact, every map but Dome has just one area where most of the fighting takes place, which can make experience from maps usually the same. The guns, perks, and killstreaks are mainly the same as Modern Warfare 2's guns, with some swap-outs, changes, and twists. Respawns are always either too close or too far from the action. And that final kill cam? Whoever made that is a sick, twisted, scum of the Earth. You can't even leave the server if you are being killed in it and you already got your bonus EXP.

Overall, this game is bad, but is often bashed by 7 year old children who don't even own the game. Ben out.

The weapons and upgrades are well done but I still don't think the guns sound realistic. Every FPS developer should learn from Ubisoft when it comes to making realistic gun sounds. Take the M4 in this game for instance. What the f is that all about???? It sounds like a mix between a 50 caliber machine gun and some sort of heavy cannon on a gun ship. Yo, it's an assault rifle so that means, like all assault rifles, it should sound like a friggin RIFLE!!. Anyways, giving this game a score below 6 is just silly unless you are comparing it to Black Ops. By the way, Black ops is still not a perfect game because the single player campaign's story idiotic. An escape from a Russian gulag?? Why? Fighting Germans?? Why not just leave the thing in Vietnam? Anyways, youv'e got to take into account the dogdy FPS shooters out there before giving this game a zero or something like that. There is so much good content with just the spec ops and single player campaign. The spec ops section is better than anything out there currently I think. Even better than BF3. Expand

Call of Duty comes back with COD Modern Warfare 3, that is not revolutionary, but still It's fun. It haves a great single player and a good multiplayer. But, overall, It's disappointing. This threequel is more like an expansion. But, still is fun. The multiplayer can be sometimes a big letdown, but single player is solid.

While not living up to the amazing game that was Modern Warfare 2, this is still a great installment to the world's most popular game. If you can ignore the small children and the butthurt fanboys, it has a good multiplayer experience. The campaign is lacking as usual, which keeps this game from a 10. However, it is definitely worth picking up.

With some practice you're allmost invincible. Quickscoping *bam* dead. It's ridiculous and stupid and very unrealistic. Sniping should take skill, not some perk and auto-aim to make it a 1-shot-killingmachine you can carry around the map, run and sprint with.

It's time for some closure and re-invent the series, with a new engine and some very good thinking through of the multiplayer, because it's lost allmost everything of it's greatness of CoD4. I can't say much of the single-player, just scratched the surface, but it's same-old-same-old...

To start with, the improvements Modern Warfare 3 made from Black Ops, at least on the PS3 version, are staggering. After playing close to probably 500 matches on multiplayer, I can say that the connection in multiplayer is perfect compared to my connection in Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. In the 500 matches I've played, I've had games end only a hand-full of times, which is far more than I can say for Black Ops. Host-migration always goes through without the game ending, again there is only a hand-full of times where it did not go through. Me and most of the 50 people in our clan agree that MW3 is far better than the PS3 version of Black Ops. No more do we have to try 5 times to get into a lobby with everyone there, or to have to re-invite people that mysteriously disappear when we back out. Playing with my clan is SO easy in MW3 with the integration of Call of Duty Elite. Elite is an absolute God-send for clans. It also adds another reason to play, with clan ops. The addition of Elite, and vast improvement in connectivity could have me saying that MW3's multiplayer is the best I've played. If it wasn't for the maps. My. Gosh. Do the maps in MW3 disgrace the lineage of COD4, and even disgrace MW2 AND Black Ops, and I'm not even talking about the DLC. The dumbest move Infinity Ward made in development of MW3 is out-sourcing the map designs to Sledgehammer. All those brilliant map designs that made MW2 so fun, and even Black Ops, are gone in this game. Whatever happened to map designs like Terminal? And Afghan? And FAVELA!? And what about huge open maps like Wasteland? It's all street combat, and not even, all the maps are just a bunch of hallways, there's no open areas. The DLC maps disgrace MW3's OWN maps. They're confusing as all hell, and yes there are open maps, but they're circular in shape in so there's tons of flanking, and if that's not the case, the maps are cluttered with obstacles so there's no real long-range sniping in any of the maps. I've never even used a legitimate sniper class except to have fun with MW3's Intervention, the MSR. Speaking of a gun, the guns in this game are much improved. Personally, I hated the guns in Black Ops. If you were not good at run-n-gun with rapid fire, you were **** out of luck. The FAMAS was quite simply...you know what, I can't even talk about the Black Ops multiplayer because it LAGGED SO BAD! The M16 was useless because of the lag, that's how bad it was. Anyway, because this game is more geared for clans, I find myself using an anti-air class with an LMG. The LMGs have been improved so MUCH from any of the previous games. The MK42 is one of my favorite guns. I have a dedicated LMG class for when I play with my clan. The BF3 beta got me hooked on using a support class, and so it was awesome to be able to do the same in MW3. I don't know where the multiplayer ranks among Cod games, but it's pretty well done. I can not say the same thing about the campaign though. The gameplay in the campaign is awful, it is so boring, and all the missions are tight, enclosed spaces, just like the maps in multiplayer. The only objective in the entire campaign is to follow the leader, essentially. Everything is so scripted, and every 5 seconds you have to wait until something happens so you can move forward. Everything is so innately linear about it, that exploring has absolutely no purpose. You might as well not even have objectives either, because it's impossible to move on without completing them. However, some of the levels break the mold and are awesome to play, but then the next level goes back to being boring again. It's very easy to see that the problem is that the COD series needs more imagination. If you go back and play COD1, you will find a completely different game, it will blow your mind the changes that have occurred since then, i.e. the Eder Dam, for instance. Overall, and you can see this in the entire game, Call of Duty needs to do something completely different. I've played hundreds of hours in this game, but I don't want to do the same thing again come next November, i.e. Black Ops 2. Expand

Call of Duty gives you more of the same, like many other franchises, and that's what Call of Duty should do. People talk about how Call of Duty should change but no one contributes any ideas and the formula sells so why change it? Hence why there are so many negative reviews here and you can tell some just follow the bandwagon, not having an open mind or an opinion for themselves.

The compelling campaign and stellar multiplayer modes is what makes Call of Duty. Call of Duty can become a football game but then it wouldn't be Call of Duty and the franchise has enough b****es jumping on the bandwagon, boycotting the franchise and using the same excuse to hate the franchise every year "it's the same thing", so change is not going to solve anything. If anything, it'll make it worse.

Even if they use a newer engine, with loads of haters complaining about the "dated" graphics (graphics isn't everything y'know), there would still be haters. Same amount as it is today. It runs consistently at 60 FPS which makes up for it's graphics, it's not the best but it still looks good.

Consistent frame rate is required for competitive play rather than graphics that makes you go "wow" and there are loads of better looking games such as Uncharted as well as Final Fantasy. Because that's what makes Call of Duty the fast-paced, addictive shooter that it is today. What makes Call of Duty the most famous shooter?

Simple, this game offers what very few games offer, you know, sometimes there's nothing like running around stabbing people or quick scoping and running while shooting on all directions. Call of Duty does that better than any game, that's what the fans like and that's the right answer. There are many worse games out there. Prison Break: The Conspiracy, Terminator: Salvation and Killzone (PS2) are just some of the games that are worse than Call of Duty.

Survivor Mode is an addition to the already seen Spec Ops. It's not original but it's a great addition to the franchise that surpasses zombie mode in Treyarch's Call of Duty. Enemies don't spawn in the same place. Instead, they move tactically based on your current location so you can camp in one spot and shoot all the enemies but you can't do that forever. It lets you practice all the weapons seen in multiplayer so the skills that you've learnt can be extrapolated and transferred into multiplayer, Call of Duty's highlight feature. Zombies is just for fun but it's not really that fun anymore now that Modern Warfare 3 has Survival Mode and, hopefully, we'll see it again in Infinity Ward's next Call of Duty (presumably titled Modern Warfare 4).

Multiplayer has some great new modes that adds more depth into the multiplayer mode. Infected is like zombies and it's really intense as well as addictive. It's a fun mode for those who don't care about their KD ratio. Kill Confirmed is another good one, it's TDM but you collect dog tags that counts as a kill. This is a bit more team based mode as opposed to the regular TDM where players are free to wonder about.

Killsteaks is revamped so it's now called Pointstreaks. Kills doesn't just count towards your Killstreaks anymore. Completing objectives such as planting bomb or capture the flag counts towards Killstreaks and this encourages players to play the objective in objective based game modes.

Killstreaks are organized into three different strike packages. Assault for chopper gunners, Support for UAV and Specialist for more perks. These are also customizable so you can have one class where you have the Assault packages and in the other class, you can use Specialist so you don't have to go back to the menu to change your Killstreaks; just customize them from your existing classes.

There's a lot of features in Modern Warfare 3 that haters fail to see. Prestige Shop encourages you to prestige. You get a token every time you prestige and you can use that token to buy double XP as well as an extra class. Each weapon has Proficiencies, which is basically perks, and you can only use one at a time. You can have one where you can add an extra attachment, one that reduces recoil and many more.

Overpowered perks and dolphin dive, seen in Black Ops, have been removed so the game is more balanced. Infinity Ward fixes bugs and glitches unlike Danger Close, who did a bad job with Medal of Honor: Warfighter. With that being said, Modern Warfare 3 has gone above and beyond the Call of Duty with an amazing campaign as well as stellar multiplayer modes.

FPS fans, don't miss out. Call of Duty lives up to the hype, and this game is how Call of Duty evolves. IW takes a streamlined approach, which is why MW3 isn't as good as MW2 and Call of Duty 4. But still, IW did a good job with the Call of Duty franchise.

This horror drudgery Shouldn't even be in call of duty. From the Boring Campaign to the horrible multiplayer maps to the desperate attempt of the spec ops mode, there isn't really much to say here. Me? Im a cod fan, but that's going to change if Activition, Treyarch, and Infinity ward, doesn't start learning how to make games. Or at the very least, make something new.

SpecOps missions are somewhat fun to play, Survival offers somewhat like zombies from BO: Kill someone, you earn money and you can buy weapons, perks and more. Now you can level up in these missions, and, like multiplayer, you unlock new stuff to buy at Survival. Now, the negatives. The singleplayer is esentially the same from MW2 Like the last "Die Hard" movie, it's all about explosions and firefights. Predictable plot twists and not-so-good storytelling ruin the campaign. Killing enemies that lack the brain to take cover and just run into your bullets makes the campaign boring and leaves a deja-vu effect if you played MW2. Now, with the star of the game, multiplayer. In my opinion, MW2 added a lot of stuff that ruined the game, like deathstreaks and a nuke. The only thing fixed in MW3 are the grenade launcher's blast radius. Terrible weapon balance, overpowered perks and even worse map design with lots of camping spots (yes, campers are back), terrible spawns and bad hit detection. Visual glitches and some unfixed issues (like teammates shoving you) are still present. Oh, and now the nuke is called M.O.A.B. but it doesn't end the match, just kills everyone. However, it's still a stupid killstreak. Overall, MW3 has the same graphics, same weapons with other name and same problems MW2 had. Do not buy this 60-bucks expansion pack. Expand

Multiplayer couldn't be worse and spec ops all together is not fun. And literally nothing different between MW2 and MW3. Not even textures on guns or death animations or sound design. When it comes to The single player campaign is amazing and it does exactly what one would expect from the series. New beautiful environments, tight controls, and new additions to your arsenal. The multiplayer is just as amazing. They have really added some major improvements. Now your rounds can get recorded and you can save the recordings and upload them for bragging rights. They also have made it easier to join a match with your friends which is a major plus. I won't go to in depth with this review because I don't want to spoil it but PLEASE don't listen to the other reviews. Theres a reason why MW3 does as well as it does and this game deserves the sales and recognition it gets. As they say it gets lonely at the top.

I actually can say I was somewhat interested in MW3 just because of the story. MW2's campaign was actually a good one so I thought the follow up in MW3 would be a decent one. Sadly, this is not the case. MW3's campaign edges on your patience mission by mission following up with one boring step at a time. MW3's campaign edges on your patience mission by mission following up with one boring step at a time. I had forced myself to play on hoping something exciting would happen. Unfortunately it took about half of the time I spent playing before something interesting actually happened, it took me until the level with the sandstorm to not get bored for a while. Then after that. The game once again starts to become less and less interesting. It took me a little under seven hours to complete the campaign on veteran. It might just be a matter of perspective but I thought it was much more fun in MW2 playing as the Rangers as apposed to MW3's DF. The graphics aren't much different then MW2. In fact they're exactly the same. Nothing has improved. You even see some of the same objects that were in MW2. Sounds of guns are okay but I have run into a few situations where the game will mess up and I'll hear a static-ish screeching that will force me to turn my sound all the way down until it stops. Half of the music flat out sucks. It's probably the worst soundtrack of any of the CoD series. You hear the delta force music so much that the mute button on your TV actually becomes useful. On to the multiplayer. In my eyes MW3 is slightly better then the camp fest known as MW2. It's no CoD4 but it's decent. Until the lag hits. Wow this game lags far worse then Black Ops ever did online. This company has made over a billion dollars from the Call of Duty name and they can't get better servers? The constant freezing in games and lag makes this game a joke. Just like Black ops and MW2 a lot of the maps in the game feel like they were designed to suck. This game's online interface has taken a huge step back from where BO was going too. The lack of in depth stat tracking and MW3's terrible theatre, which for some reason doesn't work for me half of the time (Out of Memory.) . I feel like whoever was working on the MP aspect just threw stuff together and called it a day. All in all. This game is below being what could be considered mediocre at best. The campaign blows. Survival should have been 4 players, and the online is really laggy. I seriously hope if there is a MW4 IW gets their crap together because if this is the sign of all things to come it looks like Treyarch is going to be the only one dropping out decent CoD's. Expand

What I would say is that what people have to remember is that the current iteration of this franchise is nothing more than a corporate cash cow. It was the first game to raise the RRP of a videogame to £55 and now with this version Activision are also flogging a £35 subscription (annual) on top of that.

There is also the argument of rehashing the same game - and I think you cannot compare this game to sports franchises... because at the end of the day the parameters of a sports game are finite - you can't suddenly start putting anti-grav on a football, etc. but with something like this - where you are only restricted by the minds of the designers and their creativity... this version is just like McDonald's creating one of their "Tastes of America" - it's got a slightly different sauce on it, but essentially it's the same grey, tasteless meat inside...

I've played all of these and the problem is the quality isn't that good... floaty mechanics, pea-shooter effects and a really old graphics engine - who cares if it's running in 60FPS if it looks like an original Xbox or PS2 game?

The problem is that the hatred isn't just for the game, but for the treatment of gamers by Activision - and of course their vision of what a game should be... it's no longer about the enjoyment of the audience or the creativity of the designer, it's about milking the market for as much as they can... and don't get me started on their charge for playing online if you buy one of their games second hand as well as their grotesquely over-priced maps popping up every other month (about £10 each for usually 3 or 4 maps that have featured in old games).... and before you say you don't have to buy them - in order to play online with friends and get maximum chance of joining a match - they pretty much make it essential.

At some point we (including the press) have to say enough is enough. We're not just here to be milked for cash - £55 for the game, £35 for subscription, £10 a time for maps, £10 if you want to play it online, etc. etc. and all for the privilege of playing the same game remixed... is it worth 5 stars? Really?

I jumped on the bandwagon out of curiosity, and what i found was an addicting, edge of your seat multiplayer (at least until the marathon/lightweight/commando/tac-knife combos were being discovered) that had a Michael Bay movie attached to it. (I will not speak of the campaign any further than that.)

Then we got Black Ops, which sucked. Let us not speak of it again.

Now we have this thing. I knew this game was going to be copy/pasted to the extreme, but i was thinking "hey, maybe it'll be GOOD copy-pasta."

I was wrong. When people say "this is the EXACT same thing as MW2," they really aren't joking. The game runs on an engine that is 3 years old with no improvements. It uses the same sound effects, the same models for the weapons, the same friggin font, renamed perks, and the same attachments. This game was LAZILY made. The survival mode feels tacked on and rushed, Zombies has more production value than IW's offering. (and is more fun to boot) The maps are utterly claustrophobic that fit the standard settings of a CoD map (ruined city, dirty place, grey place, brown place, GREYISH BROWN PLACE OF DIRT AND RUBBLE), there is little to no originality in the game, period. The campaign (which throws another big death scene (well, 3) just for the sake of being OSSIM) is utterly uninspired, and feels like a Transformers sequel without the big robots than a true sequel to the superb campaign that COD4 had.

I give it 2 points; NOT because its not better than Battlefield 3, but because its nothing but a cash-in designed to rape your wallets. When a game's executable file says MW2.exe, you know you're doing something wrong.

WWIII has broken out, and it's up to you to find the man responsible for it, Makarov. Soap and Captain Price returns, and since is the final chapter in the MW series, you'll see how it all concludes. Honestly, only those who played the previous games will enjoy it. Everyone else will have no idea what's going on.

Multiplayer is the same thing from previous games. You have now "Support" streaks, where if you die, you don't lose your streak; it carries over between deaths. The problem is that it's said to help your team, but one "Support" streak is a Stealth bomber, which hurts the other team. That's supposed to be in the "Assault" streaks, which is the traditional killstreak structure. Nothing else much here.

What I did like though is "Survival" mode, where you must fend off waves of enemies on various maps. I spent most of my time, here. But this wasn't enough to justify the $60 price tag when it came out.

Call of Duty does the same thing year after year; it's not worth paying $60, but now it's cheap; a new one is now like $20. I think that a perfect price for this game, so go get it.

but after playing MW3 I was pleasantly surprised. It's easily the best of the series. I was never a big fan of the multi-player, but this one blows the previous games out of the water with amazing map design, seruisly these are the best multiplayer maps I've ever seen in any video game. they're larger,

they're larger, better and more strategic.

I also found that the survival mode has so much content and so many maps that you could literally be hooked played it for weeks or even months, I can honestly say that Survival beats the hell out of Nazi zombies and Zombies were the only thing worth replaying in black Ops.

I don't play online multiplayer, but from what I've played of the Single Player and the Spec Ops, I can say that this game is at least a solid FPS. It's not ground breaking, but it can provide a good amount of entertainment. I wouldn't say it is worth $60 + however much all the DLC costs, but it's still at least entertaining. There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.

By sticking to the series' strengths, Modern Warfare 3 delivers some of the best competitive, cooperate, and single-player shooting in the business.

As a complete package, Modern Warfare 3 takes the cake. [Jan 2012, p.67]
