    This Game is Fantastic, I love the Survival mode and Single Player Campaign. The Soundtrack for the game is Great and Weapons are also great, The Missions are Fun which takes place in New York, Paris, Russia, Dubai and Hamburg.

    I've never written any reviews on anything before, but was so disapointed in this game I had to join the ranks and speak up. Hopefully the developers will listen to what the gamers are saying! I was always more a Tomb Raider kind of guy, till a buddy got me hooked on shooting zombies in COD world at war, then later we both got Black Ops as well and I got addicted to the multi-player. Let's just say it left me spoiled for what followed. I shouldn't be suprised I guess, since I did play mw2 a bit and didn't really enjoy it. Black Ops was a step forward I thought, something different. A lot more little details which make it fun. The graphics, bright and rich colours, the sounds like hit markers I especially like, having COD points to buy upgrades rather than MW3 having to use a crap gun for what seems like eternity before unlocking an upgrade or attatchment and by then You've unlocked a slightly better gun anyway. It's frustrating! It is much more fun for me the gamer, when I can choose what to play with! The guns don't seem to improve much either, in MW3 . I was frustrated to spend so much time unlocking everything to find the first gun was just as good as the last. No reward for the effort it seems. All In all I agree with everyone else, MW3 is just an add on to MW2 and seems like a step back. I found it dull to play, dreary to look at, and more like work than a game. I dragged myself to level 80 to feel like I got some money's worth, and havn't touched it since. I just play Black Ops now. I'm hoping the next game will carry on where Black Ops left off, or at least give us some fun improvements like customizable characters or choice of pre- set character or a lazer beam attachment,..anything! I'll definitely try a demo next time before spending money on a new game I've already played!… Expand

    This game is awful. JUST like Modern Warfare 2 except a couple of slight changes. It's just boring and not worth the money that they charge for it. Do us all a favor and don't buy this piece of crap.

    I have to be completly honest. I loved call of duty, i have bought all the games all their map packs and have enjoyed the fast paced multiplayer and single player aspect of it. I have always thought that when a new MW came out, it would be a leap forward in gameplay/sound/graphics/maps/and gear but sadly, i have to say that they completely got it wrong with this game.

Sound is horrible! one thing that enjoyed about the FPS is how they 'try' to be accurate with the noise a certain gun makes. That noise gives the game some realism. This game however, is horrible!     Oh where to begin with this absolute crap excuse for a FSP worthy of the title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Let's start off with the damage power or lack of damage power for RPG's, Semtex, Frag Grenades, & M203 rounds -- I can tell you from actually being in the military that these do far more damage than the game depicts. I.e. - whenever you can throw a Semtex within 5 meters ofOh where to begin with this absolute crap excuse for a FSP worthy of the title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.     Secondly, support class killstreaks.... I mean really. If you die it still counts towards your killstreak and EMP's are on that side???? Wow way to totally and utterly destroy any fun in having an Osprey gunner, AC-130, or hell even a Sentry Gun when someone can just EMP the damn thing.

    Thirdly, Activision, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer or whoever the hell is regulating this game seems to love to nerf any weapon that people seem to be using the most all under the false pretense of "balance" -- Why is it so hard to just follow the successful template that MW2 left us with?

    Fourthly, the lack of a true form of Scavenger is a pure slap in the face. What is the point of just having more bullets; where's the full package the grenades, the equipment? Fifthly, the bland graphics, unenthusiastic gameplay, lack of a team based strategy aside from the entire team being rambo, the rabid camp supported maps, and overall game functionality leaves this game unbearable and unimpressive to any hardcore gamer or any gamer that has played the previous MW and MW2.

    The ONLY good points about this game are the ease of clan organization and Survival Mode.

    I give this game a 1 out of 10 if even that.

    how you lot on metacritic think mw3 is bad i don't know this is the best cod ever with a fantastic campaign brilliant multiplayer and superb spec ops the only fault with the new cod is it doesn't feel as fun as cod's before it and i don't always want to play it

    I have friends that literally buy each coming COD for the sole reason that the next one will have new guns, perks, and maps. No care for plot or anything other than the multiplayer. Not that this isn't a good game since I've played a good chunk with friends...but it is a huge step down from Black Ops. The only thing 'fun' here is Survival Mode.

    MW3 doesn't quite live up to COD 4 or MW2 but that's not to say it's a complete flop. MW3 is still a pretty solid game if one looks at the big picture. The MP is pretty fun although certainly not the finest of the COD series. The maps in particular are rather poor compared to previous titles. The campaign was a fun yet short conclusion to the Soap and Price story. Spec Ops is fun asMW3 doesn't quite live up to COD 4 or MW2 but that's not to say it's a complete flop.     I'm sure ive played this all before? Oh how im bored of this. Call of duty series needs a complete revamp, until then i will not be buying another. Battlefield series is leaving COD behind.

    Leave it to activision to release a new COD... EVERY FN YEAR! Seriously. First of all, its 100% the same as the crap before, with new maps, and worse graphics! The add ons and "elite" are overpriced crap. Most the fans hate this turd. The series needs to end, NOW. How many call of duty titles can they really make? Soon, there gonna make Spyro of duty, Crash of duty, or Skylanders of duty.

    This is a great game! COD MW4 takes gaming to a whole new level. It's clear that the staff truly tried their hardest to make a game that is fun and influential to the world. They also talk about a really important problem in the world: Joseph Kony. He must be stopped! i'm at the last level, where you're in a remote location finding Kony, does anyone have a hint where he possibly could be????

    HOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do withHOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do with the fact that somehow the COD formula has gotten boring. the way this game is set up, you get a concentration of all things bad about the COD franchise; incessant camping and snipers, unimaginative maps, and horrible lag. the real reason that i will from now on pass on any future COD title, however, is the way the game's producers have handled this elite premium debacle. like anyone else who has kept up with the series, i was aware of the agreement activision had with microsoft, and was familiar with the practice of xbox getting the maps first. however, COD representatives (even when pressed about this very issue) were, at best, evasive in answering questions about how that exclusivity would affect the release of maps for MW3. this caused me (who owns a 360 and a ps3 but prefers the ps3) to buy the ps3 version of the game because i felt i no longer had to consider the time difference for the dlc. i would have just got the xbox version had i known clearly that the microsoft/activision agreement remained. not only that, but activision found it to be a good idea to blame the fans for the confusion and continues to say nothing to the myriad angry fans. essentially, MW3 is an average game, there are much better online shooters out there, but the treatment fans (who have paid extra and even waited for midnight release because they were so fervent in appreciating activision's product) have received from activision as a result of this awful situation has me unable to buy any further COD iterations just on principle alone. i don't think i'm alone. i'd say the market is ripe for more fan-oriented shooters to eat into COD's bottom line, and the fact is that many of us will not be sorry to see this franchise's disrespectful actions result in the end of its dominant popularity.… Expand

I will not lie and say I am not a BF3 player, but I had never played a Battlefield game until after CoD, but it was better. MW3 is almost like a DLC of MW2, which wasn't very good to begin with. All the kilstreaks are still there, you don't get any new attatchments, the leveling-up system with the weapons is poor at best and you will find yourself so bored with it after 4 hours (even after finishing the short campaign) that you will sell it on Ebay. But I'm being realistic, and I know you can't give a game a low score because you like something better. But I urge you, please buy something else. There are so many great games out like Skyrim, Dark Souls, Uncharted and Assassin's Creed. Buy them instead.… Expand

The campaign, as promised, was longer than the las cods, graphics looked good, missions were entertaining.So far so good isnt it? but now is the spec ops and multiplayer. In the MP mode graphics looked terrible compared to most games nowadays, with textures lookingAn OK game.     I'll be fair to this game and i only think it deserves 7 because of the survival and spec ops mission.
    *The Storyline, i felt i was repeating the same missions i was doing over in MW2, so there is nothing new, and nothing exciting, except a very few sequences & missions in the story

    *The Multiplayer, where should i start, i feel like i am playing a modified MW2 to be honest, they killed sniping in this game by making quick scoping very easy and there is not that much levels where you can snipe, the FMG9 no matter how much they update and Nerf the weapon down people abuse using it and it is the strongest secondary weapon and it is available from the start, so the weapon balance have become really horrible and bad in this game, the radius of dead man's hand is a joke a normal C4 doesn't kill within the same radius, it's like dead man's hand perk is danger close with C4.
    -The Spec-Ops & Survival Missions are where MW3 shines, i love playing both, they are great, challenging and enjoyable.    … Expand

And although I never expect much in the way of a decent storyline when comes to the MW series (or any war-themed game, for that matter) this time there was at least an effort at consistency with regard to the objectives and where the missions took place. After playing longer, more involved games (i.e. RPGs) I enjoy playing a snack-sized game that doesn't require a whole lot of commitment or time. Once I'm done, I'm again ready to take on something with more substance. In all, this game delivers what was expected: good graphics, tight controls, and a whole lotta killing in a snack-sized portion. Sign me up for MW4.… Expand

    Before I get into this game, I'll let you know some of my personal stats on it so you know that I'm not just some disgruntled child who is upset that his K/D is .5.
    My K/D ratio is 3.30, W/L is 1.87, I've gotten about 30-40 MOABs, and I've played about 3 days worth of time. So this is coming from a guy who is able to do quite well in this game.


    Multiplayer-wise, the game makes you want to kill yourself. Typically, I don't get upset with video games, I think I might have gotten upset at MW2 a few times after it was hacked to a pulp, and a little bit at Black Ops in the first few weeks after the release for the bad spawn system, but this game takes the cake when it comes to frustrating.


    Hit detection, now months after release, is still atrocious. I cannot even begin to describe how much lag has been put into this game. It's as if Infinity Ward purposefully put lag into the game.


    The maps are horrible, the setting for each of them is, 'Ok, this was a place, and now there was a battle here and there's clutter all along the ground.' Because of the lag, I'm constantly getting stuck on some random piece of rubble that is on the ground.


    Continuing on, the concept of putting 4+ UAV killstreaks into this game is something that is beyond me, all that the Support Strike Package does is ensure that everyone is forced to either use Assassin and Blind Eye and camp, or to try and use something other than those and get spammed to death by UAVs. It slows the game down, and it isn't right that someone can go 18 kills and 50 deaths, and earn an EMP killstreak through the Support Strike package. The killstreaks in this game are in too much of an abundance, and that turns this game into a total festival of killstreaks.


    Now onto deathstreaks, oh yes, if you get killed however many times in a row, without getting a kill you get certain 'perks' to help you get kills. One of which is 'Dead Man's Hands', where you will go prone and detonate a C4 charge, killing anyone close to you. Sound cool? Not if you are about to get a MOAB and you're on the receiving end of it. Another one is 'Final Stand', where you go prone and are able to shoot your automatic weapon. Sound fair? Not until you are killed because someone had this on at the time. In keeping with the tone of the game, there are only few weapons that are worthwhile to use, and because of the fact that killstreaks dominate this game, even more than they did in MW2, everyone brings out their stealth classes with silencers. So now, everyone is using Blind Eye, Assassin, and a silenced weapon, because if you don't, you're going to get wrecked by killstreaks.


    The point of this rant is to tell you that, even for someone who does well in this game, that it is extremely frustrating to play. With the oversaturation of killstreaks, particularly UAVs, Counter UAVs, Advanced UAVs, EMPs, which requires everyone to use defensive perks and play a slow-paced game, it really forces people to sit in corners.


    So, if you're one who likes to actually move around on a map when you play multiplayer, you won't enjoy MW3, but if you're a person who enjoys sitting in the same corner with a stealth class every game, go on ahead and pick this game up.


    I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Ever. Purchase Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty 4, or Black Ops, but stay away from this game at all costs.    … Expand

    i was looking forward to this game purely from a story Point of view as the plot and characters i had invested in with COD 4 was coming to a conclusion here. with regards to the single player i thought it was Fantastic, Much Better than Modern Warfare 2 which tried to hard to be bigger and better than the 1st one and failed miserably. i think the Modern Warfare story has come to a closei was looking forward to this game purely from a story Point of view as the plot and characters i had invested in with COD 4 was coming to a conclusion here. with regards to the single player i thought it was Fantastic, Much Better than Modern Warfare 2 which tried to hard to be bigger and better than the 1st one and failed miserably. i think the Modern Warfare story has come to a close now and i hope they do not true and push it again with another Modern Warfare. as for the online Multiplayer i really Do not see what is so Fantastic about it. it was great Fun in COD 4 and Cod WAW added to the experience by adding the zombies game to it. but in reality these are not new games. hardly anything new is added to them and are basically add on packs. i wish they would stop making them and go into the shadows for a couple of years and come back with something new and refreshing with a new game engine.… Expand

    The sound on mw3 is appaling, and next to bf3 its just embarresing!....the call of dutys have been in decline since mw2, and when they inevitably release mw4, it will not be able to stand against bf3 in terms of story, sound and graphics.

    Second, the campaign. It's too short (unsurprisingly). While it is action packed and surprisingly fun, it took me less than 5 hours to beat it. Not good. What's more, it can be frustrating sometimes. I'm not going to give away anything, but one level where you have to control an assault drone comes to mind. It can't take much damage or else you're dead. It can get EXTREMELY frustrating because it's all too likely drive right past an enemy without realizing out. Then they take you out from behind and you're left there, scratching your head wondering what happened. Don't even get me started with the helicopter part of it.
    Overall, it's a great game. Go ahead and get it. You won't regret it too much.    … Expand

    This game is just unplayable. It's basically a DLC for MW2 that costs $60. The maps, guns, killstreaks are all just terrible, everyone camps online just to get killstreaks. Nobody plays the objective and every gun has Instakill built in, it's just so stupid. Black ops is much better, MW3 belongs in the trash.

    Single Player:
    The single player is fantastic.If MW3 was single player only then it would have received a 10.The story is really good and deep and so is the gameplay.I also felt really close to some of the characters. Spec Ops is also back it has missions based around the story and a new survival mode which sees you fighting off waves of enemies and able to call in air support and but ammo, guns and grenades. It's nothing special but it will keep you occupied for a couple of hours. As always the longevity in COD comes from the multiplayer. Here is the downside with this game it is exactly the same 1 new mode some new weapons and exactly the same style. You may as well play MW2 because this just has a new skin attached. The new maps feel like copies also. Overall the MW3 provides a solid single player experience and very old multiplayer experience.
    The Scores
    Graphics=7-Modern Warfare 3 looks good but not as good as most current shooters
    Sound=6-The sound design sounds exactly like MW2 and that just is not enough
    Value=5-There is a good amount of singleplayer but the multiplayer is where the longevity usually is but not this time
    Story=7-Great moments but the story like the other games is way to confusing
    Gameplay=7-This is a raw barebones shooter with fun gameplay but no depths

    I have played cod multiplayer since cod4 hooked me. This one is not the best (cod 4 was a 10/10 for me) but its better than black ops (which i would give an 8/10) so a 9/10 for mw3 seems fair. Everything about the game is fun and rewarding, and no other franchise has search and destroy, so solid game in my book

    Great game, yes it hasn't changed much since MW2 but their is only one reason for this... Because MW2 was one of the best games ever. Uncharted 3 is pretty much the same as Uncharted 2 yet it gets incredible reviews and thats because you cant improve on perfection sometimes people. This is the same for MW3, they couldn't really improve it from MW2 more than they have.

    Kill me now. This pretty sums up this whole colossal disappointment, I never thought I would say this about a game but this is actually worse than Black Ops. The more you play the game, the harder it becomes to live on this planet anymore.

The killstreaks are almost all the same, the only positive thing about this aspect is the fact that you can set killstreaks by class. Other than that, the weapons are horrible, the graphics have not been improved since the original Modern Warfare, and there is no option to adjust the volume of the music or toggle auto-aim on and off. The campaign is the same thing over and over again as usual. The theater in multiplayer is a joke. Half the time the editing you do is not saved correctly at all, and every time you play a video it changes completely. I wouldn't even call this game an expansion pack like some people. I thought Black Ops was a step back from World at War, but this takes the prize. Modern Warfare 2 was 100% better in every aspect. I can't believe I wasted $60 when Battlefield 3 and Skyrim came out around the same time. Save yourself the time and money, don't buy this horrible game, and if you made the same mistake I did, trade it in ASAP.… Expand

    I would of give this a 9, but instead a 8 because it doesn't go that far as a "sequel" and just seeing every ones negative reviews also makes me want to lower the score. But personally i still think its good. Honestly i never played as much COD multiplayer as this one, simply addicting.

    This game is a carbon copy of mw2 it brings nothing new to the table at all. Hopefully the developers can reinvent the next installment and release a NEW game not just what feels like an expansion pack.

    The game is really good. Graphics are nice and well acomplished. Campaing is inmersive and have excelent moments like the fall of the EIffel tower. Survival is addictive to play online with friends and having headset. Multiplayer overall is fun.

If you are a mindless child whose pea sized brain can handle nothing more than easy to follow shooters with about 6 hours of true gameplay, then you may enjoy this mediocre game.     modern warfare 3 was a HUGE letdown. Modern warfare 3 is basically an overpriced, over hyped modern warfare 2.5. Sniping is useless unless you quickscope because the spawning system will spawn people right on top of you. The spawning system is stupid to the point that ive been spawned in the middle of a gunfight and spawned in front of someone.

    Let's start w/ the single player campaign. This was great addition to the series! Anyone who's been actually following the story from the first Modern Warfare game will agree that it was, @ the very least, interesting the way Infinity Ward tied it all together. Not much to say about the gameplay, only difference is the addition of "dual sights" allowing the player the use of a more close-range sight like a holographic sight & a longer range option like an ACOG for enemies that are further out on the battlefield. While the game looks pretty good & is very fluid, what in the he'll happened to the sound!?!? It's completely unrealistic & "muted" I hateto be one of "those guys" but Battlefield got it right. I remember the first fire fight because I had my sound turned up to hear the voices & then all of a sudden the **** hit the fan & the gunfire was loud & the bass thumped hard! I'd unload my magazine after I killed te enemy in front of me just to hear/feel the gunfire & enjoy tue experience the only way it can be enjoyed, in a virtual environment. In MW3, you can always hear voices extra loud over really muted gunfire.. Ok enough about that. Multiplayer. It's got it's strengths & weaknesses which basically boil down to your preference in franchises. If you LOVE COD chances are your mind will be closed to what Battlefield has to offer that's fun & engaging. Not to say that MW3 isn't fun in it's own right. Between the perks, fast level-ups & modes of gameplay it's pretty fun. Kill confirmed is an excellent example of this, that is my favorite mode of play, but there are numerous others. Sorry can't speak to what COD Elite has to offer, but from what I've been hearing about it, I think it's kind of funny that people are so upset by EA's decision to make people who buy the game (Battlefield 3) pay $15 to play online. @ least everyone's on the same playing field once they buy in & don't have to contend w/ goofballs who are willing to shell out another $50/yr for maps & added perks/advantages.

    MW1 was a classic. MW2 was unnecessary. MW3 is a f*cking joke, and an embarrassment to Infinity Ward. The single player is quick, and boring with little to no upgrades from MW2. The multiplayer is still fun, but the routine COD formula is getting old fast. COD fans, save your money and stick to Black Ops or MW1.

    first the single player experience, taking place in Africa Europe and the US the game really takes you for a ride as you play the american delta force and the rogue British task force from the previous game, as far as characters go they are all pretty shallow and except the few one liners and "chargetake cover" shouts your interaction with them is kept to a minimum until the end of the game, the only note worthy character is captain price but after developing him for 4 games its not really a surprise.

    the very loose story is basically an excuse to take you through some really amazing set pieces, you will have the standard call of duty mash up of airstrikes and rail shooters like the last games which can be good at times but they feel redundant most of the time and even feel like they are slowing the pace of the game, for example you have a level in paris where you take control of a AC-130 and the control will rotate between your character plane taking you out of the action seeing how using the AC-130 isn't challenging like the fight that takes place on the ground at the same time.
    if you played the last 2 games a closure is nice but if you are looking for a deep story shooter you better wait for something else.

    Of course the focus of the game is the multiplayer, it didn't change much from what iv'e see they added a new game mode or 2 but nothing groundbreaking again the multiplayer is solid, it was good in the previous games and it retains the same standards here, the multiplayer is very fast paced and "arcady" like iv'e come to expect from COD.

    This game is by far the worst game that Call of Duty has created. Infinity Ward should be ashamed by how this game came out. Game play has not changed since CoD 4 and the campaign did not live up to expectations in the slightest. In my opinion Infinity Ward should take every copy of this game to a skeeter shooting range and take a few hours to put a shotgun shell into every copy.

Everything about this game has been copy pasted from the previous games. Menu system? Looks exactly the same, albeit with a few graphical alterations. The HUD in multiplayer? Exactly the same. The graphics are so outdated right now. The only change in the aesthetic is an increase of the brightness of the textures. The character models are the same, the animations are the same. Hell, even a few buildings are ripped straight from COD4 and reskinned. Absolutely pathetic. I was hoping for a decent campaign, but all I got was a load of pointless, cliched garbage. The story is easier to follow, and characters aren't killed left and right like in MW2, but the magic that made COD4's short and sweet story awesome has faded away. The campaign desperately tries to be a Michael Bay action movie, yet takes some boring and predictable turns, except for one twist, which I did not see coming. Ending isn't much, but it isn't bad either. In summary, the "epic set pieces" are no longer "epic," and the story is unimaginative and boring.

    Spec Ops is back, and is exactly the same. Short missions that may or may not be based on the campaign. Like the single player offering, this mode is merely a filler which no real flair or artistic creativity. However, there is a slightly amusing Survival mode, which pits you against the stupidest soldiers ever. Pretty much zombies, except without the zombies. Simply a gimmick, and nothing more. I enjoyed it for about...10 minutes.

    Multiplayer. This is my most hated part of MW3. Remember MW2, well its back with some new guns and some new maps. You get the same old crap that MW2's annoying multiplayer had in store: Overpowered. superpower like perks, exploitable killstreaks, and maps which lack any real substance. In COD4, the maps and spawn points were designed to make every game seem like a mission. In MW3, it is just "run around, kill, die, repeat." COD4's perks weren't perfect, but at least they were actually realistic, and not superpowers. Customisable killstreaks are the worst thing though. Welcome to exploit city: population, every COD nerd. COD Elite is a joke. The maps are poorly designed. The weapons sound like crap. The people who play COD are stupid. This game is stupid.

    If you have bought Modern Warfare 3, you're an idiot. If you bought Modern Warfare 3 at full price, you're twice the idiot, because there's really nothing new in this game, and the COD series now joins Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Guitar Hero as Activision's milking/already milked cows.    … Expand

It has a TERRIBLE storyline on the campaign, multiplayer is (in my experience) full of douchebags, and this is exactly like MW1 and 2. there is absolutely nothing different. If you want a good FPS, buy Unreal Tournament, or one of the battlefields.

    I actually like Black Ops better, but MW3 is still fun. I am 60% through the campaign and it is amazing so far. Multi-player is more balanced with the addition of support streaks. I am not crazy about the some of the maps because they are too messy, if that makes sense. Sometimes, there is just too many things in the air where it becomes hard to figure out if it is your ally or foe.I actually like Black Ops better, but MW3 is still fun.     It is just horrible of activision to release this game because the developers would have needed more time to make this. The game is mostly copy-pasted from Modern Warfare 2 and i feel that the developers had some new ideas but with the lack of time they only implemented a few. i was saddened that this game sold so much and still it is essentially just Modern Warfare 2 with a fresh coat of paint.

    For Infinity Ward, this is the laziest game they made. For Sledgehammer is not a great introduction to the game industry but at least it's a nice move , still not the best. Starting with the campaign is a great ride worth taking but we all know that when we play a CoD game is solely in the multiplayer aspect and nothing more unless you spend some time with the other mode ( Zombies ) butFor Infinity Ward, this is the laziest game they made. Some new cool modes are acceptable like the innovative Kill Confirm that consist on taking the dog tags etc but i don't feel compelled enough to play this modes because they feel worthless I never felt any motivation to play other modes but only Team Deathmatch .MW3 didn't felt like that juggernaut game that if it was announced caused me nostalgia , other than that those little problems, or boring things dragged a game that was a triple A franchise. I hope that the next one recovers from this hard wound . Still for those that liked the fast paced formula they won't be dissapointed .… Expand

    one of the best games i have ever played it fully lives up to its expectations, it have a great campaign mode and awesome multiplayer.it also has a new mode ''SPEC OPS'' witch you play in survival mode which is just when you fight computer people.or do missions either one is fun

But it's still the same Call of Duty formula, and it's just a well made, good game. The singleplayer is rubbish, so I won't cover that in this review, I'll just cover the multiplayer. The multiplayer is fun. And is a lot better than the absolutely atrocious game that Call of Duty: Black Ops was. Infinity Ward knows their stuff. This game is quite different in terms of classes and the way you level up now. Now not only do you level up, but so do your weapons. And you unlock different weapon upgrades as you gain weapon levels. I think it's a smart system, and a lot better than the terrible COD points system in Black Ops. Also new is the gun proficiencies. No there is no Warlord perk or some other perks that I forgot about, now they are proficiencies. Instead of warlord you have the attachments proficiency which let's you have two attachments on your weapon. And now there is no equipment section. Not claymores and other detection triggered explosives are under lethal equipment(the same category as frag grenades) and tactical insertion and other things are under tactical equipment. The few improvements that Infinity Ward made are really good, and make the multiplayer a lot of fun. Spec ops has a new mode called survival. But to be honest it's not that great. You can only have two players in it and you can call in a squad of bots which aren't that great. The survival could've been a lot better, but it's a lot more addictive than zombies, because the levelling up adds a new reason to play. You still buy weapons, but you have to be at a certain level to actually be able to buy them. I think it's a great system on an only ok survival mode. The bottom line is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is no revolution, and it certainly isn't an incredible game. What it is is a fun, polished and well made shooter that will keep your attention for a while. The private matches work fantastically and it's a breeze to invite your friends to one. I don't LOVE MW3, but I certainly do like it. It's not my favourite game, but it's a game that I'll occasionally get out to play.… Expand

At first, you think, hey this stuff is really cool, what with all the titles, pointstreaks, and survival mode. However, the more you play this game, the more you realize how good Black Ops really was. Lowdown: Survival mode was fun with friends, but was limited by two players and wasI have Black Ops for PS3 as my first COD game, and this as my second, and frankly, this game SUCKS. However, the more you play this game, the more you realize how good Black Ops really was. Lowdown: Survival mode was fun with friends, but was limited by two players and was extremely laggy the times I tried it online. The mics sound quality sucks because of MW3, and constantly gets cut off. Theater was copy and paste from BO and had one control set-up(really, IW?). Hit detection allows you to get one shot kills one game and makes you use your entire clip to injure someone the next.(Not to mention throwing knives!) Elite makes you quit MW3 and start up a seperate program. Switching lobbies is slow and not smooth, especially for Theater mode. Spawn killing is horrible, as is knifing, which is doubly worse from BO. Maps are pretty small, and have a bunch of random crap on them so when you are rushing through the field you get shot at by a bunch of people hiding around that crap. You can't join other people's parties without an invite, and matchmaking just plain makes IW look bad against Treyarch. The only thing that kept me playing it was that I wanted to see if I could beat my friends to 10th prestige. Also, there are no Combat records like in BO, unless you get elite, and even then you can't compare it with your friends.However, I do have to admit that the Campaign was a blast to play. So for all you out there who are on the fence, I wouldn't say "goodbye Black Ops" just yet.… Expand

    Stupid enemies, weird characters, worst weapon's sound (Sometimes I was turning sound off) and awful soundtrack again proves how developers care about players.

    There also a Spec Ops with old Mission and new Survival Mode. But both of them suck ! All Survival maps and weapons + attachments (NOT ALL !!!) from Multiplayer. And almost every missions in Spec Ops are maps from SP Company but with different tasks (sometimes map is reversed). So all that developers said about Spec Ops before release b******t !

    Now it's time for multiplayer. All what we get is two new modes, new camouflages, perks, kill and death strikes + new weapons and attachments (I didn't count maps because they always add them). Multiplayer is so unbalanced - almost everybody camps, using akimbo weapons or doing jump kills. New kill streaks so stupid. It's really easy to kill Juggernaut, and with vehicles almost impossible to kill somebody (Because everybody uses stupid perks). For unknown reason they made 3 kill streak packages. Assault (After death kill streak points reset), Support (After death kill streak points don't reset) and Specialist (You earning perks instead of usual rewards + after death kill streak points reset). What I liked is Weapon Levels. You're earning XP for weapons by killing enemies with it, then earning new Weapon Levels. With each level you unlock attachments, camouflages or proficiencies (perks for weapons). And there one last new thing - Prestige Shop. When you get new Prestige you get Prestige token. These tokens you can spend on unlocking gear or double XP or new icons and titles. That's all new in MW3 Multiplayer. So it's worst mix of all previous CoD games with few new things.

    Unfortunately it's old good CoD 4: MW with all new "awesome" c**p for retarded. 2 - 3 cool trailers and Activision will get lots of money. So don't buy this game for yourself or friend or your greatest enemy because it's just a HUGE waste of your time and money.    … Expand

    There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
