    Not only is this game riddled with bugs, missing basic features and is actually a downgrade (for example custom games), the abusive move by blizzard of forcing everyone to use this new (and inferior) version has to be illegal. I've had the original since it came out and now I can't play what I paid for (twice)

    I know its looked down upon to review bomb a game, because it gives an untrue representation of the actual game. But this isn't true for this game. This game is a straight up cash grab and lies. Broken cut scenes, scummy practices. This game is trash. I don't even want to type any more. DO NOT GET THIS GAME.

    holy crab I can't even get my old WARCRAFT III back since they force update it.
    and I guess i will never see a new version of my favorite TD custom map any more. does any one know where to find a crack old version of war3 frozen throne so i can play some old custom map? OH never mind i could probably able to fine those map in dota2.

    Warcraft 3 was the game of my childhood,was the first competitive game i ever played, and in the last 18 years i don't think i have gone back to a game anywhere near as much as i have gone back to warcraft 3, whether it was completing the campaigns for the 100th time or playing a few LAN games with my brother. And by doing so pissing off not only people who bought this game but people who bought the classic game, some of who had this game for almost 18 years.     What is even worse, it was a forced downgrade for people who didn't buy it and their client is gone. Yet another thing is that there is a new localization for people who are not playing this game in English, it translates PROPER NAMES, which is horrible. It has a new voice acting, and people were used to old voice acting. Imagine you got a new voice actor for every character and now proper names are changed too.
    Although the models individually do look better, they don't seem to be part of this world, the scale worked in the old game, here it doesn't look that good. Some dialogue changes are just weird.    … Expand

    Not only is reforged a broken dumpster fire, but they destroyed the original version of Warcraft 3 with the REQUIRED download that installs new Reforged assets. To top all this Blizzard is refusing ALL REFUND REQUESTS. There needs to be a class action lawsuit made against Activision-Blizzard to refund everyone who bought this POS of a game!

    The biggest offender of all is that they went back on their word and did not remaster the campaign as they originally intended to be more in canon with the lore. This would have been a better mix along side the new graphics as they could simple explain that this is a retelling of the story.

    Cinematics are the same from 2002 which were just rerendered into HD. The ingame cutscenes feel worse not because of visuals (that's subjective) but because of the camera always going around trying to act dynamic.

    Lastly the performance, jesus christ all mighty where did we go wrong? Terrible bugs and performance issues, Unresponsive UI. Also you no longer go play the actual old game, it was secretly merged with the new one and all the problems of Reforged merged into one, While you do have the option to toggle new and old graphics the actual old graphics are a huge downgrade as they lack contrast and shadows.

    I had hopes for the game, i had expectations to a degree but eh all futile actually Blizzard at this point are garbage company and developers. IT seems that they lost all skill to make any actual good games or products.    … Expand

    They delivered a terrible product. I preordered this game and what they showed on their reveal in 2018. is a completely different game than the one we got in 2020. The cutscenes look way worse, the FPS is terrible and many other features were cut. 23

    I knew I should never pre-order anything because the end result is often disappointing compared to what was promised, but I thought I could make an exception for a remaster of the game I spent so many of my teenage years playing.

    I'm never making that mistake again.

    There is my Pro/Cons list:
    Pros
    - Models are kinda good (could be way better)
    - Hosting custom games on Blizz servers (it's also disadvantage, because they left this as only option), which can prevent some problems with port allowing etc.
    - Story is untouoched (I'm really not fan of WOW story line)
    Really don't know what more should I add here to be honest...

    Cons
    - Old GUI
    - No engine improvement (crappy FPS, worse then old game back in the days)
    - Locked hosting only to their servers
    - Ranks and profiles missing
    - Wierd feels of new menu (looks more like mobile game, not very smooth and intuitive)
    - Terrible animation due tu old 30Hz lock (really doesn't look good with the new models)
    - No remastered cutscenes as advertisement
    - No remastered Cinematic
    - Forced merge of classic and reforged (really should be two splitted comunities)
    - Still old game limitation such as unit locks etc. (due to merge of comunities to make balanced versus mode)
    - Buggy af (sometimes unplayable)
    - Radio silence instead of making statement about the future of the game
    - Banning reasonable angry fanbase
    - Making every custom game yours (Thats pretty much killing the moding comunity.. Ofc there will be generic TD etc., but nobody with really great idea is going to make it in WC3, because Blizzard will steal the idea and present it as own)

    So my verdict for now is 1/10. You just managed to to produce reskined cashgrab game and kill old good WC3 just in a single blow. I'm willing to change my review as soon as Blizzard your promises and fix the game.

    PS: BLIZZARD please! Make some statement, road map how to fix and save WC3 instead of banning angry fanbase. We have all rights to be angrry at you for what you did to our lovely game....

    I get scaling back on a product, but pulling major features and then preventing players from going back to their old product by effectively deleting it. I would rather just have the Warcraft 3 Reforged canceled and play OG Warcraft 3 than have this. Zero flat zero.

    Since no game launches are perfect, I get to experience some of the same ups and downs that the original players of Warcraft 3(TM) experienced when    I missed out on the original WC3 due to my age so I am extremely grateful for the wonderful business executives at Activision-Blizzard (TM) to give us gamers this choice of playing a wonderful, fantastic game like Warcraft 3: Reforged (TM).

    Since no game launches are perfect, I get to experience some of the same ups and downs that the original players of Warcraft 3(TM) experienced when they first played it, and that feels awesome.

    In our world of ever growing extermism, I'm extremely grateful that Blizzard is taking a stance to stamp out bigotry, racism, sexism, free thinking, religion, and other wrong thoughts from their platform. By assuming copyrights of any mods, they ensure they are allowed to be the final arbiter of what works are deemed allowable to be viewed by intelligent, moral and civil minded people such as those of the wonderful Chinese Government and Silicon Valley progressive values. They're also ensuring that creativity is encouraged by banning already copyrighted works, so modders have to create new content!

    I played original warcraft 3 so much that my parents had to start hiding it in the evenings because i would sneak out and play it at 3 in the morning during middle school. This reforged is an utter abomination - not only did they scrap about a million things that were promised with fixed values (4+ hours of new cinematica ect ...just google an inforgraphic) but they simply put zero effort in to the game. The game launcher is through web code??? Long story short - I had high hopes after starcraft reforged, especially because they promised more this time - when in fact they delivered less. Absolutely horrendous - oh ps. the customs all suck because their IP attorneys got involved - which lets be honest customs are the reason WC3 was as big as it was - out of my 10+ friends who played - not a single one regularly played versus mode. Blizzard killed the game and killed the genre.

Everything they showed it at Blizzcon 2018 and sold us the game on were scrapped at some point in development and not only did the price not lower, they never took that advertisement off of the main store page.     To make things even worse, it's a bug-riddled mess, and if you think "oh I didn't buy it I'm fine" Reforged has been completely, bugs and all, been forcibly integrated with Classic.

    What changes they made to the campaign were nice, like the cutscenes on the ninth Human mission "Frostmourne", and that's what makes this sting so much. The poor people making the art and cutscenes clearly had passion towards this, but corporate greed and a lack of time/resources must have gotten in their way of making the vision they had. Activision-Blizzard should have delayed it another year (not like they were in dire need of the money) to complete it and polish it. Sadly, that's not the company's way, and pushing out a terribly rushed product, taking the money they could and running was more beneficial in their eyes.

    And that is why Blizzard has completely lost me, a previous fan of theirs, as a customer. I will never give this company another penny. A shame truly, I was thinking of buying WoW time to play Classic with my friends soon, but this has completely driven me away.    … Expand

    Everyone bought this, expecting the game of BlizzCon 2018 Demo, instead what was delivered is the old game with different models and icons and a very very little work on it. This goes for the cinematics too, they just made a new cinematic for the trailer, while everything else was kept as it was.     If these were the plans don't give fake promises and fake demos. No one would be so disappointed, if we knew from the beginning what we are getting.

    The most ironic fact is the one month delay of release, to do what? Maybe a whole year nothing was done and the project was left for the last month. The game is just a model reskin and came out full of bugs, looks like more like a mod, than a "reforged" game, and all of these at the price of 30 Euros.
    It's not even worth the money.

    The fact that your old copy of Warcraft 3 becomes "this" is enough to rate this 0 out of 10. All other downgrades are just an icing on a cake. Even more insulting to me is the expectation that "Bio-hazard" will activate its 0 cost spell of corporate speech and do nothing about this. Impossible to ignore actions like this.

    Game was rushed as anyone could see. Bugs all over, the main campaign wouldn't start and would show a defeated screen the minute the first mission finished loading. Tons of missing features that's advertised on there website. So sad that blizzard has fallen so low.

    Yeah, they restored the map technically.. It didn't matter, though. They shadowbanned it, you literally could not find the map unless you spelled it's name perfectly in a custom search, and even then it would not appear for many people.

    This was the day I realized blizzard was no longer Blizzard, and that the company i grew up worshiping that I spent a year of my life making content for.. Completely betrayed me for virtually no reason.

    That's why I'm not surprised to hear Warcraft III: Reforged essentially steals your content from you.. It's the equivalent of a billionaire stealing your 1 million dollar lottery ticket, just for the principle of the matter.

    They own any map you make and all IP associated with it.

    The game looks nearly the same as the version you bought 16 years ago, barely any upgrades and actually more bugs.

    Orwellian oversight on 2020 Battle.net.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
