    I'm simply amazed at how you could mess up a simple remaster. Just put HD cutscenes, updated models, ui, and worlds and you are done. The fact that they couldnt do that is just sad. Blizzard now on my "no buy list". I refuse to support this company any more.

    Game wouldn't even boot past the main menu and crashed my whole PC. I would give it a score if there was anything even to score but since I can only rate the main screen, the main screen is very basic and uninteresting like any other main screen. Thanks Blizzard.

    This is the biggest screw up of the DECADE
    I have been looking forward to the return of Warcraft

    Worst customer support in all gaming industry. Someone, we call him Luke, got banned for some unknown reason. He asked why or for what reason, they replied we don't talk to cheaters but you could buy another license and play again but your ban stays and have a nice day. w0T???

Why are we paying for a beta game full of bugs (unit ready sounds are delayed, no slow animation, no ladder profile of win rates) and unpolished. Shame on your blizzard. Will approach Diablo 4 with    Over promised, under delivery.

    I have never reviewed a game before but the fact that I can no longer play the game I've had for so long is insufferable. What were you thinking! Especially since now any custom maps or game modes I pour my work into dont belong to me this is ridiculous. On top of that I have yet to be able to get into a campaign since the update no matter how much I google I can't find any help.

    In a word, reforged is non-functional. I can login and see the chat rooms, and that's it. Every other aspect of the    I'm a long time PC gamer and former Blizzard fanboy. Blizzard destroyed the old version of War3, replacing it with reforged.

I tried to play the campaign and it crashed over and over. I literally couldn't get to the point at which I could play the game. Occasionally the scenario would end, saying I failed (without having played). The multiplayer is broken too. I can't join custom games - it instantaneously kicks me out of the game.

    After about 3 hours of trying, I have never made it to an actual gameplay screen.

    Hopefully Blizzard can fix this atrocity, but frankly I'm shocked that the game was released in this state. Selling people a broken, non-functional product is NOT OKAY.    … Expand

Although, the more the time passed, the more the project started to stink horribly. The arrival of the worst beta in Blizzard history (no exageration) made it clear that there was indeed something that went horribly wrong. Now that the game is out,I never stopped playing Warcraft 3 and still enjoy it on a weekly basis. Needless to say the Reforged announcement overwhelmed me with joy. Although, the more the time passed, the more the project started to stink horribly. The arrival of the worst beta in Blizzard history (no exageration) made it clear that there was indeed something that went horribly wrong. Now that the game is out, there's no denying it anymore. Reforged is a complete mess.

    We were promised at least an upgraded game with new visuals, new cut scenes, map reworks and new voice acting. This would make the campaign feel new, fresh and up to date and without affecting the multiplayer which was to stay compatible with the people who prefered to stay with the original game.

    Here is what we got :

    -New HD models that are a welcomed upgraded, but feel out of place. They seem to lack proper shadows and occlusion. But mostly, the portraits are a huge downgrade. Yes, the old ones are outdated, but the new ones are not well framed and barely have any animations. That's a big no for me.

    -We got ONE new cut scene, the Illidan vs arthas one. Not 4 hours of re shot cut scenes as they still advertise. Not even what we already saw in the demo. I am sorry, I want to like the new one, but the quality of the animations and the overall execution is extremely poor.

    -Many features were simply removed and the menu and UI is worse than before.

    -It is filled with bugs. Major bugs, like alpha state bugs.

    -It was my understanding that the classic game would be compatible with Reforged, not destroyed by it. There is no way of playing the old versionand people without reforged are stuck with the new game. they simply can't turn on the HD models.

    -Instead of bringing a new wave of map creators to keep the game alive like I hoped Refoged would do, it scares them away with a new EULA where they have much more control over creators than before. I understand it to some extent, but they are limits.

    TLDR / conclusion: Reforged manages to make a 17-18 years old game feel clunky, rushed, stripped of features and simply just less enjoyable. But instead of passing on Reforged and keeping your money, you are forced to use it, thus inclined to pay for the HD models because might as well anyway. It seems like Blizzard's only tool left is nostalgia and the legacy it has, so releasing a subpar product and erasing classic is a major step towards crushing that legacy.    … Expand

    This should not be available for purchase in its current state. Tons of crashes. I couldn’t tell if I was playing the original or reforged with the graphics. For one of the all time greatest games of all times this just wrong to do. Maybe they will fix it up but I’m afraid it will never deliver. Brutal.

    This game is a scam, do not purchase this game! Blizzard has taken your money and if you try to refund it, they will ban you for 2 weeks. The old Blizzard is gone, this new Blizzard is just Activision. The game is broken, promises broken, and my love for Blizzard games broken forever. I will never return and you shouldn't either.

    WC3 became a legend with the custom games, DOTA and Tower defenses was made through that tool, now blizzard tries to own all ideas gamers make made through their tool, like if Photoshop/paint tried to own all paintings made by their drawing tools.

    If this game was even close to what they promised back in 2018 then it would have been 10/10. A prime example is this page [link omitted] there official site and most of it is still things that they promised originally but never released with the game or where cut from production but this was said in interviews to other sites. This has me worried for the Shadowlands pre order and even Diablo 4

    Regardless of what happens with Reforged in the future, they've made the decision to remove the game licenses for Warcraft 3 that we'e all paid for. A game we owned for years has been revoked from our accounts. Blizzard are literal thieves.

It forced the new bnet system over the old one so we can't enjoy the original either. If you want to play a good version of Warcraft 3 you need to dust off your old CDs or get the pirated version and stay away from bnet, especially if you want to play custom maps made by players. By the way, new EULA states that every map from now on is Blizzard property, so good luck having fans create new maps, you bastards!… Expand

    let´s get to the point:

    No new UI (as seen on BlizzCon Demo) No re-imagined cut-scenes (as seen on BlizzCon Demo) Instead a broken game No new visuals? Visuals are updated, yes - but... how could this mess ever pass any quality check? I mean, the models are looking ok-ish (more polygons and more - realistic- textures than the original ones) BUT the ground and environment did    let´s get to the point:

    No new visuals?

    Visuals are updated, yes - but... how could this mess ever pass any
    quality check? I mean, the models are looking ok-ish (more polygons
    and more - realistic- textures than the original ones) BUT the ground and
    environment did not get this treatment. It basically looks cartoon-ish (and
    even less details and worse than the original)and this makes the new models look just "off".

    The mix of two different "art styles" does not work (not even a bit)
    or look any pleasant nor professional...

    Sure thing - visuals are subjective, but most persons can tell, that
    there is something "wrong" with how it looks (overall)

    Destroying gameplay features for the WC3 veterans, that maybe not
    even wanted this "remake/remaster" does not help this release as well.

    Then there is the new EULA for folks, who want to do their own maps and mods
    with the editor - so Blizz can make sure, they own any rights for the content, that others
    are going to create with their editor. I mean it is their "product" and they
    have all the rights to do such things.

    So when you going to make the next "DOTA" or "Tower defense" mod, they can make sure, they
    will own the intellectual property of this! "Let the community do our work and we just show up
    to earn money from their efforts, if they start a new game-trend!" Nice (di#k) move guys!

    Then there is/was that argument "but the community wanted everything as close to the original
    as possible" - so no new missions, cut scenes, story changes and so on...

    This is absolutely ok, I say!

    For this "no-change people", they could just have implemented a switch "reforged/classic version"
    and everybody would have been happy...

    Oh wait! This switch actually exists !!! Hhhhmmm, let´s see....

    So it was just laziness, cutting on costs and/or manpower and then hide it under
    the "community wanted it cloak"?

    Well to be honest - if a company you trusted for a long time (like about 15 years)
    releases such a "product" (after showing a demo, everybody liked and was hyped for)
    you would get confidence, that this was on purpose and all planned. They´ve found an
    excuse and rolled this "product" out to the customers...

    Normally, any Art director would have slapped such a "product" in the faces of it´s makers stating "Jesus! Are you kidding me?" - "If this is your best, you´re fired!" What I took for a surprisingly, nice fan service from Blizz to their community (maybe to make up a bit for some of the mistakes and crap they did 2018-2019) turns out to be a straight ripp-off. I wanted to show my appreciation for making WC3 Reforged and pre-ordered "blindly" - because it can´t go wrong, after seeing the BC 2018 demo, right? And in the end, it´s Blizz and it´s one of their own products, they do a remaster remix, reforge, whatever.., right? Oh - they delayed it (by just a month) - absolutely no reason for me, to cancel my pre-order. I would have waited to Dec 2021 if this is, how long it would take them to come up with something half-decent at least. But no wrong again! "We just need another month to polish" they said! - and the outcome is this mess, the Internet rants about like crazy! - That´s hilarious as fyck, when you think about it. I still can not believe this... and worst thing is, no statement from Blizz after 2 days. I mean - do they even care? No? I think not! THIS worries me the most!    … Expand

    Waste of money, no cinematics reforged, poor optimization, runs at 60fps but feels like 30fps, no new campaign, no funny mods, this game looks like an HD mod, to be honest, I will not refund it because I want to maintain my items in WoW but I will not preorder anything from Activi$ion Blizzard....

They've removed or made worse a huge swathe of what made the original game great, and have prevented you from going back to the original.     I tried this I really really did. I was hoping beyond hope that they didn't screw over the game like they have before. my hopes were dashed. Cut scenes where completely missing from what they promised. The Graphics were barely up to par with a remastered version much less reforged.

    This really seems like just a cash grab to get your money. I refunded it.

It was probably the best RTS I have ever played to date. Countless hours playing with friends, climbing in ladder games, and enjoying the custom games. What Blizzard has done to this game is unforgivable and all of it for a quick buck.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.
