    I am crying. I already heard about the bad launch of Reforged, but only today have I looked at the fallout. I have not shed a single tear since my dear grandfather passed away many years ago, but what I saw today left me in tears. Warcraft III was a game that means a lot to me. It has accompanied my through all phases of life in the past 17 years. I remember    Dear Blizzard,

    Warcraft III was a game that means a lot to me. It has accompanied my through all phases of life in the past 17 years. I remember seeing a friend play that game, so I convinced my parents to buy a PC so I could also play that game. I remember the countless hours of fun I had during the campaign. I remember my classmate declaring that there will never be a Warcraft IV, because the third is already so amazing that Blizzard could never surpass it.

    I remember when patch 1.21 hit and you no longer needed a CD to play the game. It was incredible. I felt never so proud to be a Blizzard fan. "They removed the DRM". In a time when DRM was not even a thing. It opened worlds.

    I remember sneaking into the PC lab at school to play Extreme Candy Wars 2004 with my classmates. I remember all the LAN parties we had playing Skibis Tower defense. All just because you made the game more accessible. At least 3 of my friends bought the game, because they saw during out LAN parties how much fun it is. It started the tradition of us meeting every year for my birthday to have a Warcraft III LAN that lasts to this very day.

    I remember the big chaos that came with the 1.24 patch that removed the return bug. I remember spending night after night in the world editor, trying to fix old abandoned maps that didn't work anymore. But it was worth it.

    I remember the hundreds of hours playing DotA via Garena and joking with my friends how a lobby took forever to fill up, but hosting "Island of Erotic Pleasures" would be filled in seconds.

    I remember playing YouTD during boring lectures at university. A path I only took because the World Editor woke my passion for programming. I remember proudly showing off my first programming I did in the World Editor to my mom and the countless hours I spent at the Hive forums looking at Damage Detection Systems for my map. I am a professional software developer now, and would not be in this position without this game.

    I remember when I could proudly proclaim to be a Blizzard fan.

    The game did not deliver on any of Blizzard's promises and is a mess. There are dozens of reviews on youtube telling exactly why. The quartering is the most popular and highly recommend going and watch his video on the topic. Blizzard in a desperate attempt of something is even refusing to refund their games and even banning people if they find you helping others do it.     Game was a disappointment. All the hype for the game and none of it was delivered. Game has bugs that wouldn't let me continue through campaign. The graphics to some of the cinematics were changes from when they introduced a year ago. Truly a let down on their part. Blizzard was know to have polished games and now they are unpolished

    Personally, I would rate Reforged a 7, but I have to balance the score because of some hysterical reddit neckbeards.
    Lemon Sky did a nice job with updated models, but some of the are not correct (naga with ears). Campaign is updated as well and it is nice to notice some small new details in missions or visit updated places like Stratholm with design from WoW.

    As for the game itself, this is not just a disappointment. It's a travesty where Blizzard lied through the teeth through their trailers and gameplay footage which looks NOTHING like the final product. The bugs are prevalent, the graphics look more like a lazy remaster, the UI is almost worse with no significant improvements, the cutscenes haven't been enhanced and BLIZZARD ARE ACTUALLY BANNING PEOPLE WHO ARE POSTING WAYS TO GET REFUNDS.

    I actually thought Diablo: Immortal was as low as you can go. Blizzard, you surprised me. Your name is now synonymous with garbage. J. Allen Brack, let's see your apology, non-apology for this one.    … Expand

    Does not include features they themselves advertised. The added things to the blizzcon version and REMOVED it for the released version. There is no ranked matchmaking like they advertised, there are no ramastered cutscenes

    * New legal when it comes to the map maker, WITHOUT SAYING A THING TO THE CONSUMER

    Original W3 is in my TOP5 of all time. And I was really excited for this. Especially after Starcraft upgrade. But ladies and gentlemen, this is disaster. It really looks like some China mobile rip off. Most annoying is new graphics and authors love for really bright colors. It almost looks like it missing textures or proper lighting.
    And yes, you cannot play old one. Even if you payed for    Original W3 is in my TOP5 of all time. And I was really excited for this. Especially after Starcraft upgrade.     Just new textures, after promises of changing the plot aspects of the game. BRAVO BLIZZARD, YOU HAVE BROKEN BOTTOM. On top of that, there’s an incredible amount of bugs, the lack of a ladder, and the FPS drawdown. Bobby Kotick again received the money and now do not worry about the opinion of the community. Bravo!

    After downloading the    I did not even have an account on metacritic, but felt I needed to post this. Wc3 is my favorite game of all time, played countless hours for years. So when they announced Wc3 Reforged I was so excited, specially because I love the campaign and they were saying there were going to be 4+ hours of redesigned cutscenes (which is still on the game´s promotional site).

    After downloading the game I struggled to start the campaign for hours because I was getting instant defeat screen after loading any cmapaign map (prologue or human campaign), and when I was finally able to play, i found out that the cinematics were the same. After doing some research I found out that not even the cinematic that they showed on Blizzcon when they announced the game is in the game. Such a dissapointment.

    Hopefully they make good on their promise and relaunch the game with the promised features as Wc3 Reforged 2.0. Until then I will not be playing this game.    … Expand

    I am so disappointed in this game, i dont even know where to start, please do not buy this game even if you dont care. Gamers need to unite against engregous tactics. Blizzard is not what they were and i cant see myself buying another of their games.

    I like the huge difference between the critic's softball paper napkin criticisms and the actual customer's nearly unanimous rating of 0. Ignore the critics as they toe the line between being honest with their readers and not upset any corporate overlords. Listen to the customers.     A lot of people were looking forward to this release and me personally learned about all the new changes coming to Reforged through the blizzard launcher when the game was added. The only work done here was remodeling outsourced to a company in Malaysia with none of the other features.

    In fact, you cannot refund the game the moment you open it. Anybody sharing information on the Blizzard forums about getting a refund through their bank (chargeback) or some other way have been banned.

    Not only should you avoid this game, but I would recommend dropping any pre-orders you have with this company and wait for reviews from every game they release from here on out. In fact, this is simply good practice anyways the way things have been going.    … Expand

    I got this game as a gift from my good friend... i gave him one too. i think this is the most shameful gift i have ever given to someone. We were both happy to play some multiplayer together but we were also looking forward for new cutscene, as they presented them in 2018, updated campaign maps, better UI and much more. This? This isn't Reforged, this is slight reskin, buggy reskin.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. where to start o i know i cant play custom games i get stuck in loading and get insta defeated campaign missions barely work or get kicked from the game for some reason mid mission it is literally dosnt work fallout 76 was more playabol than warcraft reforged plus the old version cant be played eney more if you have warcraft reforged so your scrued if you want to play the old game some old gamemods dont work and custom campains dont work same as refunds… Expand

    Bought this game with an open heart, due to the fact that I played W3RoC/TFT for so long when I was kid. But the closed beta was bad, the launch was bad. The game has a high ping (similar to the original game, back in 2002), a lot of bugs in and off game.
    It's a really shame how the game was release, nowhere near it's completion. Now I'm asking for a refund.

    Blizzard's greed 1:1. They made promises of awesome features and none of that was added to the game. This is PERFECT example why you should never ever pre-order. When you opened the game you are not eligible for refund, and if you wrote some alternative ways of getting your money back they will ban you on W3 forum. Eh Activision ruined Blizzard.

    This is a literal spit in the face for Warcraft 3 fans. This is nothing, but an awful cashgrab. Dissapointing would be an understatement.

    - No new UI
    - No new cutscenes (just the old ones rescaled)
    - Lots of old features missing

    They force WC3 Classic owner to use the Reforged Version where a lot of features are missing.

    This game is bad. how can you downgrade a 18 year old game. (removing shadows). Even HoTS (heroes of the storm) hav better graphics then this and that game was made 5 years ago by blizzard.
    I miss the good old days when Blizzard made games because they wanted to. not because they wanted to make money of there fans.

    This is no longer Blizzard. Blizzard does not exist anymore. Blizzard was a company that created amazing polished games. It was a respected name.     Original WC3 was one of my favourite games growing, with the announcement of WC3 Reforged being an enhanced remaster with updated cutscenes and so forth I was vastly excited. The final products however is a far cry from what was originally advertised, it was the first time in years I immediately refunded a game in less than 1 hour

    So sad. This game was supposed to save WC3 online, and now I highly doubt anyone will pick it up seeing this whole **** storm. The campaign is admittedly fine for me, but the game clearly was still not rdy after delays. Imagine how bad it would have looked if it released in 2019

    The Blizzard we knew is gone, don't expect anything good from them. The whole China ass kissing aside, Classic is doing OK despite blizz, retail is just bad, Diablo has been a disaster, (hopefully 4 will fix it, but don't count on it) best to just stay away until they change.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
