    "Look how they massacred my boy" (Everyone, 2020). They promised us the world but only gave us New Jersey and Florida. Seriously though, clunky cutscenes, terrible (and I mean god-awful) animation for the one cinematic they did replace, no new content, no UI change, they changed the EULA agreement so that they have dictatorial control over intellectual property, they banned players, it was"Look how they massacred my boy" (Everyone, 2020). They promised us the world but only gave us New Jersey and Florida. To top it all off, they MAKE you update to reforged; you can't even play the classic version anymore unless you have the disc. Oh, and they removed LAN functionality and are refusing to give people refunds. The new models look great, but they removed the option to play with the shadows, and the in-game shaders are atrocious and make the game look worse than it did in classic. 10/10 will not buy anything from Blizz again, everything they touch lately gets destroyed.… Expand

    I did not buy the remaster but my original Warcraft 3 updated to this and now its broken, none of the custom games that I played for so many years work anymore, I can't start the campaign, half my graphics settings are greyed out, even the ones I used to have in the original game like shadows... how do I get a refund for the 17 year old version of the game?

    Huge bummer. I pre-ordered Reforged when the beta was early and things were really looking up for the end product. I'm sure anybody reading this has a good idea of the things that Blizzard removed, one I don't see mentioned a lot that is pertinent to the way I play is the late removal of 3440x1400 support. Blizzard could have tackled this is so many different ways. Most modern companiesHuge bummer. I pre-ordered Reforged when the beta was early and things were really looking up for the end product. Blizzard could have tackled this is so many different ways. Most modern companies just letterbox with art flanking the play area. This alone did not completely tinge the way I perceived this purchase though.

    The last minute stranglehold on ridiculous custom games is particularly egregious, as this was the most nostalgic part of multiplayer for me. It's a really sad state of affairs.

    The campaign is really underwhelming. I am really sad blizzard missed an opportunity to craft such a cool new-ish experience. I was really excited they'd use the opportunity maybe to tell new, smaller stories that don't quite fit within the game play scope of WoW. Maybe micro campaigns for sale for $5 or something. Anyways, I'm sure Blizzard is going to abandon reforged. It doesn't seem like they're commuted by any metric to deliver something special here.

    It's really disappointing to me that they're being so stingy about refunds. The way they've reacted to community outcry is flat out awful. I regret buying reforged -- I wouldn't have come here and review it if I wasn't outright denied a refund. I really hope Blizzard understands this outcry comes from a place of love for this universe. I'm sure people wouldn't have really minded a couple of different directions this whole thing could have taken, but somehow they rolled the dice on what seems to be the worst option. Release an unpolished game, break a classic one, bark at the community, and disrespect their customers.

    Sorry Blizzard. It's been a rough year. Here's to hoping this next decade is one of great product and prosper. Nobody reasonable wants to see Blizzard decay but nobody reasonable would deny that it is.    … Expand

    I've been doing my best to give blizzard the benefit of the doubt the past two years, but this release was a complete tipping point. Blizzard to save itself needs to find someway to buy out of Activision and remember who it is.

    Wanted to test it with my bro via LAN party (we both bought the game then while it downloads, went to grocery store to buy munchies. Both were so excited to play like in old times) but there was no LAN option lol. Also I heard that Blizzard will pre-own of all custom maps.     Not the game that was promised. "Reforged" is more of a re-skin with bugs, sound issues and other disappointments. Save your money for a game where the creators give a crap and don't give u the middle finger.

    It's a shame what happened. False advertisement, and downgrade in every way compared to the original.
    Buggy mess and except a bit of a graphical update that is only on the surface, it's a too-small change for such high price.
    And yeah they killed classic version, unfortunately.

    Ive played Warcraft 3 all my life without problems and this week i got an update that made the game crash my computer. I was not shocked when finding out that reforged was a complete failure but that this has destroyed a game ive enjoyed all my life is very sad and disapointing. The Reforged edition doesn't bring any substancial improvements on the table and in-fact downgrades the original game in numerous ways.     I expected so much ...the game looks like they only wanted to get money.
    I tried on 4k 144fps (i have 9900k + 1080ti), and its not optimized.
    Very disappointed with blizzard...
    I wanted a real remastered. With new and better IU. Better animations, better maps details, etc..But looks like old game with some filters. 0/10

    The game is not as advertised, killing creativity with the new EULA if someone creates the next DOTA in the game it's Blizzard's property! The game's instable etc etc etc. Remember when Blizzard took it's time with it's games? well this is not the Blizzard i grew up with!!!!!

    Custom maps, the user-generated content that in the past from WarCraft III spawned not just new games, but genres, has been "reforged" by Blizzard as well. You no longer own your work, Blizzard owns it (that LoL/Dota thing still stings, eh Blizz?). Add to that a massive amount of removed features and restrictions put onto the custom maps creators and there's no point in even trying. But even that isn't as big of an issue as the... Oh, just read the next part.

    WarCraft III and WarCraft III: Reforged have been merged into one. Attempting to ignore the new and busted game and going back to what you know and love is as difficult and annoying as possible. There's some obscure link to where owners can download the game from Blizzard, there's the installing from an original CD or piracy... I don't know if you can even play the old WarCraft III online anymore due to all this mess.

    Barbarian attitude to the series and to games in particular. Blizzard long ago destroyed their reputation by making strange movements and Warcraft 3 - one of such movements. Why even touch the game and make such hackwork from it? The game is absolutely terrible.

    Bad performance, ruined WC3:RoC and FT clients, no ladder, visually it became worse than it was, there`s no masterpiece in visuals, everything looks made to get fast money, no any attention to details and community.
    Blizzard is not a developer anymore. They are gravediggers...

    Can't connect to custom games, no support for ultrawide, animations running at jarringly low framerates. Banning on people that wants to just help others getting refunds. And no hope blizzard will ever fix this game.

    - No new grpahics engine

    The most disgusting cash grab I’ve ever seen. Game is completely broken. Missing an insane amount of promised content that they’re STILL advertising. Just overall broken mess. Blizzard has managed to unfinish a game that was released almost 20 years ago, even Bethesda can’t do that. Well done Blizzard. Or rather. Well done Activision Blizzard.     This remaster needed good year or two more of work which it's not getting. It's a shameless cashgrab that doesn't deliver almost anything that was promised at Blizzcon or does so only partially. Moving away from the fantasy/cartoony style to more realistic ones without changing designs at all feels awful to me personally at least.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
