    It's not often that I legitimately believe that a game deserves a 0 - but this simply should not have been made. It is objectively worse than the original, and has no real reason to exist.

    I know everybody is upset about this game but as a real review. Look, this thing definitely could use a spit shine. Is the game worth 30 dollars? The game is actually worth 20 bucks at best in its current state but i have confidence that if they smooth out some of the issues the game will become pretty solid. I have enjoyed my trip down the nostalgia highway, i even bought the game afterI know everybody is upset about this game but as a real review. Look, this thing definitely could use a spit shine.     Game is not what it was promised to be.

    It has terrible performance, they cut out a lot of features that were in the original game, that btw, you can't access anymore, because they removed with this new version that is worse in every aspect.

    This cannot be tolerated.

    I lucked out and got a bad feeling about this game early enough that I could cancel my preorder. First, there was a number of delays...then after delaying it they announced there would also be less content (no reworked story). Well, as anyone who has seen the game since release can attest, I dodged a bullet on this one. Объяснял, что агрессивность монетизации будет расти, а качество продуктов будет падать ровно до тех пор пока коровы будут молча доиться. Авторы сделали это лучше меня.Я уже достаточно давно пытался объяснить друзьям, что владельцам компании, с определённых пор, стало насрать и на сами игры и на людей.     Blizzard has been making all the wrong decisions, this game probably flopped so hard it's caused a ripple effect that can send blizzard from being one of the best game dev companies of all time to one of the worst.

    I'll start by prefacing that I played and own the original Warcraft 3 and I also pre-ordered reforged following its release at Blizzcon.

    Heck because of Blizzards idiotic progressive agenda you cannot create a lobby for a certain Blizzard created map. This map in question is named Booty Bay, its one of the old classics created by Blizzard themselves, but because Booty is, for some odd reason, considered offensive, you cannot host a game for Blizzard's own map...

    The meniu is slow and clunky. Also and this is a big gripe, as an RTS fan you cannot change your building hotkeys. This is unacceptable, every civilized RTS game lets you remap the hotkeys to your own personal needs, even the remake of Starcraft, but WC3 only lets you change the layout.

    .While I do have to give credit where credit is due and say that the unit models are gorgeous even these are mired as sometimes the old assets can load. And, apart from the unit models, the textures for the terrain or even for some map assets such as trees, look somehow worse in Reforged.

    And now we come to the really egregious stuff. The game under delivered on what it promised. The in game cut-scenes are just a slightly prettier re-do of WC3 and in no way what was promised and show at Blizzcon 2018, with way better animated and fleshed out cut-scenes.

    This is a gross example of false advertisement + bait and switch, and its even worse given that the Blizzcon 2018 cinematics are still on Blizzard's site but nowhere to be found in the game.

    Blizzard is also blatantly anti-consumer with its refund policy. If you have started the game you cannot refund it, simple as that, despite the game being broken and full of bugs. As far as I am aware this goes against the refund policy of most countries where you get a grace period to try a product and if you don't like it you can refund it. Heck, industry leader Valve lets you try a game for 2 hours and then refund it.

    And last but not least there is the abusive terms and conditions for creating custom maps where, you as a creator and user waive away all your rights to any custom map you create through Blizzard tool. Last time I checked if you buy Adobe Photoshop you have full rights to what you create through it and Adobe has no rights to your creations, why does Blizzard think its different/superior.

    Oh and I was about to forget, you no longer have access to the classical Warcraft 3 online, Blizzard migrated all of it to Warcraft Reforged, meaning all the online problems you have in reforged you have in the old game, thereby destroying 2 games with 1 move, a first in gaming.

    Overall do not, buy, the game is just not worth it in its current state, and the company itself has proven it does not care about user experience, it only cares about making money at your expense.    … Expand

    How is it even possible to ruin a 17 years old game? I don't know how but Blizzard managed to do it with this one. Flashy trailer but nothing make it in the final game; promised cutscenes do not exist and more and more disappointment.

    I have nothing against the remaster. But, I wanted to be able to officially download and play the original Warcraft 3, but Blizzard excluded this possibility, forcing me to download the Reforged. Which also costs more. It is a disgusting decision, it is not surprising that everyone disadvantages this game. This is more than just negative ratings. This is kind of a way to say to management:I have nothing against the remaster. But, I wanted to be able to officially download and play the original Warcraft 3, but Blizzard excluded this possibility, forcing me to download the Reforged. Which also costs more.     Reforged ? More like Downgraded. Apart from the new models (which admittedly are nice) they've removed so much from what it once was.
    The promises (as still shown on there webpage at this time) of extra content, redone cutscenes and the like are all not in the game.
    All gone what we are left with is a broken game, with broken sounds, models It's a shame.

They really should take the blizzard flag down, piss on it, and replace it with an Activision flag at the Irvine HQ. Thats essentially what they did to this game.     Way to go Blizzard. This was the last straw for me. Been a fan of your games since WC1 and you are not who you were. The old Blizzard would never straight up lie to fans to get quick sales like this and at the same time destroy a classic. RIP Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft.....I hope someone else buys these IP’s off you to give them a chance at life. Never again will you get another penny from me.

    the clarification of all users is not only for war 3 reforged because surely within time and decision it could be patched and redeem the bugs, gameplay and add all the expected content and here is the explanation. What blizzard do 20 years ago was to create a community (and that implies a market), now we are seen how blizzard kills his community (and its fan base or his market whatever you call it) and the worst part is that it isn't the first time, we saw similar products failures of blizzard with high expectation of quality like diablo 3, starcraft 2.2 and 2.3 diablo immortal (a kind of joke), warlords of draenor, hearthstone, heroes of the storm, and batle for azeroth. So the score assigned is for a continuous lack of empathy by the developers and marketing team to the community and what they expect of a AAA game.
    If anyone in blizzard read this critic, just remember Atari and E.T. the extraterrestrial, all know the story after    … Expand

    Frozen Throne and WC3 were the best RTS ever made and the foundation for all of Blizzard's success. Unfortunately this remake somehow makes that masterpiece totally suck. And I am not talking about the single player campaign false advertising. The visuals just suck. It is dark and dim and you cannot see your units most of the time. Online play is confusing and the visuals have somehowFrozen Throne and WC3 were the best RTS ever made and the foundation for all of Blizzard's success. Unfortunately this remake somehow makes that masterpiece totally suck. And I am not talking about the single player campaign false advertising. The visuals just suck. It is dark and dim and you cannot see your units most of the time. Online play is confusing and the visuals have somehow destroyed the fun cartoony bright and flawless visuals of the original. Please blizzard, fix the visuals and listen to your customers. You are a billion dollar company, you can afford to hire some actual artists to work on this and fix it by patch/free revised version.… Expand

    It's wrong to force those whom already own Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne to purchase the remastered. You already shoved the updates down EVERY player's throats, so why not allow those whom already purchased the old games to enjoy the new features? I see people complain left and right about the crashes and such, not sure what to make of the    Here's what I think of the "reforged"...

    Can't even finish the game. Bugged out on the scourge campaign in frozen throne. Really huge disappointment. I loved WC2 and WC3 was ok. This was not a huge improvement to WC3 from what I played. Really wish I hadn't bought this.

    Blizzard is rushing to pay off metacritic reviewers so their stocks don't plummet further. This company died a decade ago and the corpse is just rotting further. I was a fool to pre-order this game so long ago I can't file a chargeback with my bank. I can't say I'm surprised. It's official, Blizzard is just a money scam. This game just solidified the facts.

Ok, put my own experience aside, is Reforged actually good? Nope, it's worse than the original game, there's no ladder, there's more bugs, the game is CLEARLY unfinished, colors are inconsistent between buildings of the same race, sizing of units and buildings are inconsistent, some units, specially undead, have a base color that is over the team color (skeletons are GREEN just GREEN you can't tell them apart from a regular creep and good luck finding your own statues/destroyers in a mirror). Things we saw since first spoilers and beta were not fixed, more bugs were added, old users who don't upgrade to a better PC won't be able to play the SAME GAME they've been playing for years, there's NO ADDED CONTENT, it's just 30GB of SKINS. This is the worst game ever released and blizzard can't even go back until they fix stuff because now the damage is already done. I'd love if they just apologized and took it back than gave free stuff for everyone who bought reforged (like skins that are worth NOTHING AT ALL in warcraft 3). But they won't. They will patch to death and luckily kill this game

    For $45 AUD. Lack of cutscenes, bugs, NO single player custom games (i wanted to cheat to test out the new LOOKING units). Vs ai whose hero could lvl to 100. .. couldnt type, lol, no cheats allowed in MY OWN game....

    The campaign... theres just no point... the saying gameplay is better than graphics held strong here and just for $45.. go play original if want campaign...

    I've been playing blizzard games since 1999, I haven't bought anything from then in the last two years due to their drop in quality, and decline in business ethics. I received this game as a pre-order gift, and it was so bad, my friend ENCOURAGED me to return it and promised to get me something else. I wasn't going to write this review since I got my refund fairly easily and thought there was no point in beating a dead horse, but then blizzard released a statement basically blaming the consumer and admitting no fault. Make no mistake I rate this 0 out of 10 objectively because of the games lack of promised features, and how it destroys the original be removing features. How they fail to not only make a better version of a 17 year old game but retroactively make the original worse is a beyond comprehension.

    This game is a perfect metaphor for the changes in blizzard as a company. It is hollow...it promises everything and delivers nothing... and it SOMEHOW makes everything I loved in the past worse than it was before when they could have left it alone. I am past angry at blizzard, it now just makes me sad to see what is happening to the company that gave me literally thousands of hours of joy in my childhood. They have lost their soul, their passion, and their integrity. And I feel bad for all of the developers who still try and prop up this empty shell of a company, who actually care, as they are consumed by corporate greed and sheer managerial incompetence and I hope they can all escape it.    … Expand

    I feel like they robbed me like buy a secondhand car only to find they removed the engine on delivery. How can a company really feel that they can show you one thing and deliver something so different from what they promised and think that’s ok...... words can’t even describe how this company has basically robbed from its own fan base.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
