    A huge game with loads of great factions and quests. Loads to do with ship upgrades, crafting, and outposts. 50 hours in and have not even scratched the surface of what is on offer. The few downsides are a lack of local maps making finding locations difficult at times and a basic container sorting system.

    After quite a few hours of play, Starfield is completely far from what Xbox sold us. About Performance, it was to be expected, Bethesda Games Studios hasn't given us anything decent since fallout 3. I would not call it a disappointment, because behind the many mistakes that Starfield makes, it is an entertaining game, but far from being the revolution that we were promised.

    One of the Best game I have ever played. Starfield might start slow but it’ll hook you to the game for hours and hours and sometimes days together. It’s so difficult to stop playing and go to work.

    The game is just good, nothing revolutionary. Yes, it has some new mechanics like flying into space, but the realization of space travel and space battles leaves much to be desired. And everything else looks the same: here and hanging around NPCs with grimaces on their faces, the old engine with its frequent downloads makes itself felt.     The game is pretty good, the story might be a little bland and simple, but the side missions are just incredible and fun.     Пока многие ещё с момента анонса кричали о том что это будет разрыв индустрии!  который не ведом был игрокам в рамках ААА игр.
    Ведь игру делает никто иной а великий! Тодд Говард и теперь ему в этом поможет Филарет ведь у мелкософт чит на деньги. Я так и знал что выйдет типичное беседко хрючево, на искалеченном временем движке Морровинда 2001 года.

    Но посмотрев что по факту из себя представляет данное поделие, пришел к выводу что этому убожеству даже куча модов не помогут.
    Чтоб выкатить такое УГ, надо было очень сильно постараться!
    анимации редкостное дерьмо, ИИ тупой, импакта нет, ганплей тоже вышел за дверь, локализации на русский нет мир пластмассовый и дубовый.
    Один чёс маргетинговый Фила и Тодда со всех щелей, одни заявления Тодда про то что это Некст Ген игра чего стоят, не считая остальных заявлений клоунов из беседки.
    диалоги плоское уг, сюжет туда же.
    Куча пустых планет с камнями и контентом ctrl+c ctrl+v оптимизации нет, ещё и куча багов.
    Учитывая что мелкософт это некий говномидас в индустрии, то не удивительно что на выходе будут выходить такие кривые помои как Старфилд пополняя ряды Redfall.    … Expand

    It's the most underwhelming game I've played since "Redfall" (another Bethesda disaster). You can like whatever you want but the combat (space and ground) is generic AF, it's chocked full of loading screens, and the menus are clunky. That's not even getting into all the technical issues (past having no working HDR10 support on PC at launch in 2023).

    Just your typical Bethesda game, nothing really special about it.
    2023 was full of Mindblowing Games and then comes this game around which is literally Skyrim/Fallout but Space.
    I don’t want to compare this game with No Mans Sky, BUT NMS makes so much right which this game doesn’t, that is a real bummer after all that hype from all those people, now i know I should never get hyped up from others who don’t know anything about the game and more specific not hyping up a Bethesda game since (except for Doom) are pretty much just the exact same but with a different style. It’s probably safe to say that ES6 will also be literally just Skyrim 2.
    Don’t get me wrong, Starfield is okay to play but it’s just that: Okay.
    I felt nothing, especially since most characters look hella weird, most planets not only lifeless but also quite bad looking, outposts/Mines etc. start to repeat after some time even with the exact same enemy positioning.
    After such a huge year with so many bangers, this game is quite disappointing, if it would have came out in 2021/2022 it would have received probably better.
    Only good thing I can say about it is the Ship customization, that is really a great thing they did, sadly tho it’s not enough to give me the feeling of an insane game when everything else feels so short and flat.
    And I’m not one of those who care for 60 or 30 FPS as long the game is awesome (like tears of the kingdom) but those amount of menus and loading screen are a complete immersion breaker for a „the galaxy is yours“ type of game    … Expand

    Starfield is Bethesda's Magnum Opus.
    A true masterclass in RPGs, Starfield offers the largest game world I have ever experienced, with interesting sights and activities around every corner.

    Starfield has cemented itself firmly in my list of top five games of all time!

    Starfield as it exists is a fully competent game that takes a LOT from Bethesda’s previous games. At times it really does feel like I’m playing Fallout 4 Spacers Choice. The NPCs that are main characters look amazing…. But 97% of them (random townies) look like ps3 models. An obnoxious encumbrance system that will have you fighting with items from the literal first area you enter, dull space content that consists of "flying around in a big empty box" and pressing one button until you're ready to press another", the same awkward controls and lackluster gunplay we've come to expect from Creation Engine games, with none of the charm of the Fallout or Elder Scrolls universe to fall back on to carry an overall lackluster experience. Oh, and minigames. Cause that's what we want in our RPGs - silly minigames.

    This is not the "game of a generation." This is barely even the game of a week. The only fun in this game is the fun you make for yourself. If that's the sort of experience you're looking for, then so be it, this might be the game for you. But the main thing I can think of when I play is "An elder scrolls game got pushed back years for this garbage?"    … Expand

    Creation engine 3 = creation engine 2 with lags on 3080.
    Loading near every door, like in Skyrim or Morrowind.
    The dumbest NPCs I've ever seen.
    The most disrespectful treatment of fans I've ever seen.

    It runs like crap, even on high end hardware and the copy / paste of game elements across planets means it gets boring very fast. It's not worth the $120 AUD they're asking for the base version, let alone the $170 AUD they're asking for the premium edition. Give them 12 - 18 months to fix    Unfortunately the Starfield we got is underwhelming and not what was promised by Bethesda.

    It runs like crap, even on high end hardware and the copy / paste of game elements across planets means it gets boring very fast.

    It's not worth the $120 AUD they're asking for the base version, let alone the $170 AUD they're asking for the premium edition.

    Give them 12 - 18 months to fix the bugs and modders to fix the rest of the game and it might be worth picking up for $20 on sale by that point    … Expand

    Me sorprendio lo basto del mundo, aunque los viajes estelares dejan un poco que desear, me esta fascinando tanta locura que pasa en el juego, vale completamente la pena perderse en lo basto de su universo.

    Excelente juego, aunq no es perfecto, es un buen exponente de Bethesda, yo le pondría un 9 pero con tanta gente haciendo mala campaña, sin siquiera haberlo jugado aporto con un punto mas.

    Lo recomiendo al 100%, cada misión, cada diálogo, cada escenario son perfectos al 100%, no es lo que mucha gente esperaba pero para mi es un 9/10 (quitando bugs que arreglarán en un futuro) Y los mods van a darle mucha vida y eso que ya parece infinito.

    Queria entender o povo que odeia Starfield apenas por ser do Xbox. Fazia tempo que um jogo não me prendia assim (olha que mal joguei Fallout e The Elder Scrolls). Os 30 FPS está bem suave até mesmo em PCs, não atrapalha a jogabilidade. Tudo que foi mostrado no Starfield Direct, tem no jogo.

    Way better than I first thought. Its a Bethesda Game through and trough. I loved Fallout 3 and Skyrim - Starfield has a great atmosphere and even a cool story plot.

    Dichte Atmosphäre. Gewohnte Stil von Bethesda. Gefällt mir sehr. Wie der Film Interstellar nur als Spiel. Grafik ist auch sehr gut vor allem am PC.

    I bought the game on xbox, it was an awful experience. I still really wanted to play and thought that maybe the issue was limitations within the series X itself. So I upgraded my video card to a 4090 (was looking for an excuse to do this anyways) and bought the game off Steam. The only difference was better frames. The graphics still looked dated, etc. Steam refunded me with 28 hrs playingI bought the game on xbox, it was an awful experience. I still really wanted to play and thought that maybe the issue was limitations within the series X itself. So I upgraded my video card to a 4090 (was looking for an excuse to do this anyways) and bought the game off Steam. The only difference was better frames. The graphics still looked dated, etc. Steam refunded me with 28 hrs playing time which is something they normally don’t do. Avoid for at least a year!… Expand

    24hrs in I had the grand realization, this game is absolutely **** Lack of any real substance. Boring weapons, lame ship builder and buggy as all hell. Questlines can't be completed and overall I just felt pissed off playing the whole time with every little design choice. Thanks Todd Howard for yet another steaming pile of ****.

    Back to Balders Gate and Armored Core I guess.

    I wish we could travel the stars like in Star Citizen instead of loading screens though. Travels are parts of the journey.
    I would have put a 9/10, but because of the review bombing, it will be a 10/10 from me.

    Anybody that gives this game a 10 is delusional and/or a paid actor. Same generic formula. It's like Bethesda refuses to push the envelope once again with another re-skin of Skyrim. For $70? No thanks. Save $10 and buy BG3. Better yet, get No Man's Sky (it does everything so much better).

    I like games with combat and difficulty and Starfield doesn't deliver on that. The game can be easily finished with just two buttons.
    So unfortunately it's a boring and soulless game, the maps are empty and the world is dead, in    Starfield should be called Starfilm, it's more of a movie than a game. The player just watches most of the time, this is because 90% of Starfield is cutscenes.
    I like games with combat and difficulty and Starfield doesn't deliver on that. The game can be easily finished with just two buttons.

    From the start of the game there is lagg. It has extreme optimization issues even on a mid level PC. I play on 1920x1080 resolution at the lowest possible settings but still get lagg. It is very annoying and I wish the game would get a patch. More on that the game has a lot of Glitches; mainly with the udio and loading screens. The menus freeze all the time and it is really fristrating     … Expand

    I cannot believe Todd rejected the fact that this game has serious optimization issues on PC. You cannot normalize 30 target FPS for recommended specs. Totally ridiculous!

It is clear to me that most people giving it a poor score probably didn't even played past level 5 or 10. It may have some bugs, yes, but the gameplay feels great, the hand crafted scenarios are beautiful and the storytelling is captivating, i'm loving every bit of my playtime!     I like it fun gun play and a unique ship building feauture, this is exactly what I wanted in starfield.

    Star Field, delivers what it sets out to do. It's a great game with a lot of content and depth. Bethesda could just release an update so we have the option to run at 60fps on consoles, that's my only "negative" review, the rest is awesome!

    Great game built by an incredibly talented team. The Starfield universe is unlike any other game I have ever played. 25 hours in and I feel like I barely scratched the surface of all there is to do in this game. Thank you Bethesda and Microsoft for building such an incredible universe for us to enjoy!

    The quests are uninspired for the most part. Don't get my started on the intro of the game, by far the most boring one of any Bethesda game - Hey you random miner, take my ship and robot because reason.

    For much better quests and NPCs(and graphics), there's cyberpunk and Baldur's gate 3. For a much better exploration game, there's No man's sky. For much better space combat there's games like Elite dangerous or still NMS, etc. Starfield does many things just either poorly or average.

    When you're a big studio like Bethesda, backed by a giant like Microsoft you can't just pump "mid" games because of laziness/greed (talking about the execs here)where every other studios out there work their ass off to push the limit of video games, and expect people to forgive you because you made an extraordinary game 12 years ago, Skyrim.

    To end on a positive note, the ship builder is by far the best part of the game, whoever made this, give them a raise.    … Expand

    This guy broke down the gameplay loop FLAWLESSLY:

    enter your ship - > loading screen -> sit at console and "take off" -> loading screen -> choose new planet -> loading screen -> select landing site on planet -> loading screen -> exit ship -> loading screen -> "explore" procedurally generated planet (kill a few bugs and scan some plants/rocks) -> fast travel back to ship -> loading screen -> go back to step one

    Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion.. hell even New Vegas and 76 had WAY more explorative feeling to them. I'm just bummed, I really was hoping this was going to be the next Oblivion or Skyrim for me. I give it a 3. 1 for all the voices and characters in the game. 1 for not being a overly buggy mess. 1 for the times you DO get to fly.    … Expand

While to some it may not be the best, it's certainly better than their modern games and I have to question whether those calling this qualitatively worse than Skyrim or Fallout 4, have even played Starfield past initially visiting New Atlantis.

    Having played Starfield for over 60 hours now I can say that this is by far my favorite Bethesda game and even with the multitude of flaws this game has, it is not a bad game. The quest design, dialogue, combat gameplay, and roleplaying are all leagues better than their previous attempts and while I understand seeing these aspects falling short of games like BG3, it is incredibly dishonest to even so much as insinuate that these aspects are worse than they were in Skyrim or Fallout 4.

    It feels like a good portion of the negative outcry is coming from a section of fans that either did not play the game, did not play it enough, or simply don't actually like Bethesda games. Of course a lot of the criticism is deserved, but to act as if there are zero redeeming qualities to Starfield is nothing but a joke. I dare any of those giving this game a 1/10 and calling it worse than Fallout 4 or Skyrim to actually go and play those games again fully vanilla. It's seriously not even close.

    As to some of my actual praises of the game, I will say that the side quests and faction quests are without a doubt some of the strongest questlines Bethesda have produced. The amount of choice and consequence within a lot of these quests are funnily enough exactly what people had begged Fallout 4 to be, but I guess you can't please everybody. Combat is good for a single player shooter RPG. It's not the level of an actual focused shooter but given the variety of gameplay in this game I never expected it to be.

    I personally think the negativity around exploration is largely overblown and I genuinely wonder if any of these people have spent more than 3 hours playing games like No Man's Sky or hell, Minecraft. It is certainly a criticism to have but acting as if it's the end of the world is funny to say the least. AI is the biggest problem I have personally.

    All in all Starfield is a quintessential Bethesda RPG. Flawed, long, slow, but the fun is always there if you look for it. If you truly enjoyed Skyrim and Fallout 4, you will likely enjoy Starfield. If you never actually liked those games and only liked the ideas of them, then yes you will probably not like Starfield. If you purposefully go into Starfield expecting a different game, make your mind up about hating it before playing it, and only focus on the negatives then drop it before 70% of the games functions even open up to you -then yeah you probably won't like it.

    But even then what's it matter? 2023 is a wonderful year for gaming and even if you don't like Starfield there are plenty of great games either soon to release or that have already released so go enjoy them! Or keep bringing up Starfield in random Reddit posts that have nothing to do with it, that's cool too!    … Expand

    This game is not perfect but it is very good. I wanted a better ending, a better exploration with ships, a better campaign, but who cares. Everything else is very good and I enjoy it immensely. Going to 70 hours of gameplay and happy, more than anyone else this year.

    This game turned out to be a huge disappointment, its a mediocre Bethesda game and a downright awful space game.

    For starters the space is fake, theres no exploration. Ships are purposefully designed to be slow as molases (despite having tech for warp engine across galaxies) so you dont stray far from the planets atmosphere (which btw is a fake png too) unless you hit throttle for literally hours on end

    How convenient huh? That space ships with warp technology across technology, moves so slow it cant move around solar system at reasonable speeds

    I say convenient because this is a intentional cap to mask and hide the fake space, theres no space its just a map with quick travel loading screens. The planets are just segmented levels which you quick travel to

How could such a hack be done? I am sure that the game was originally planned as an MMO in space, but after the failure of Fallout 76, they began to remake it into a single player. I don't like Skyrim and especially Fallout 4, but at least the locations were made by hand.
    But thanks to Starfield ive gave the ME Andromeda the second chance, and Andromeda not so bad compare to that masterpiece.    … Expand

    PC version let me play at 60+fps but even in 30 game is just EPIC.

    30hours in, will be 200+ for sure

Go there, talk to that dude, go there pick that stuff, walk 2 miles and talk to that other dude... i guess it is for people who likes to believe they live in another world and have another job or something. I like challinging gameplay, actually some skill with the controller or some tactic skills.

    I feel like this game just has a nice coting of paint on the outside but once you go inside you get another open world game with nothing new to offer and the main story and characters are the weakest point of this whole mess and at the end of finishing this game, there is nothing left to remember it by at least in a good way.

    I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

    In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
