Don’t pay attention to the user scores, the game is being review bombed! It is on Game Pass so you can try it. People will be playing this game FOR YEARS and Bethesda will continue to support the game with patches and expansions (One already announced) Bethesda created an incredible achievement and I am happy for Xbox to have a true generational game. Hopefully this is the beginning of a great Bethesda + Xbox relationship with new and innovative IPs such as Starfield and HiFi Rush. Everybody at Bethesda should be proud of the masterpiece they created!

Would you like to play a dumb down version of No Mans Sky? How about we trow in a clunky old fallout mod? It might not be fun, but the graphics are really nice if you stand completely still. We even have heavy motion blur on by default!

Seriously though, the ads are dope, the game is not. Buy Baldors gate 3 instead, thats the real deal.

Starfield, a vast galaxy of boring nothingness and lost potential. . What a shame! I'm a Bethesda fan, but I need to stay objective here. Then sorry, this is not your game. The critics who gave this gameStarfield, a vast galaxy of boring nothingness and lost potential. . What a shame! Want exciting combat and/or real exploration? Then sorry, this is not your game. The critics who gave this game a 9 or a 10 are not objective in my opinion or got payed for it.

For me this is a game like Mass Effect, but without the great story, storytelling, cities, good combat and the amazing characters. I just expected much more from a project of this size and scope. It's been in development for 7 years by a developer that has all the budget, tools and manpower they need... . It's like they know that the modding community will add all the extra's and fix their game.

    My feedback:
*Very good and sharp visuals for the most part, but some stuff just looks weird.

    * You get thrown into this game with little to no explanation. Good luck figuring it all out!

    * Building your own ship is really cool, but you don't use it for what it's intended to be. So it's a cool and fun gimmick.

    * Better get used to the bugs and glitches, it will happen often.

    * The weapons etc are nice, but the combat is dull and boring.

    * The enemy and team NPC AI are really bad. They are just plain stupid.

    * Plenty of NPC dialogue, but the characters look at you like a plastic zombie with little to no expression. The dialogue is not really engaging too.

    * Inventory space and management is just a joke. Do the devs actually play their game? How many huge money making RPG's does Bethesda have to make to get this right?

    * Looting 1001 carrots, apples, phials, ducktape, screwdrivers etc to sell at an NPC for credits is really not oké anymore. It just sucks. It's like Bethesda is stuck in the past. Same note: do they actually play the game and go "wow this is fantastic, we should keep this?"

    * NPC vendors don't have enough credits for all the crap that you want to sell.

    * No mini map! It can take you a looooong time to figure out where the vendors are.

    * Space combat is not really exciting. The same for the exploring.

    * Wanna explore the universe or planets with your ship? Nope! It's just press a button and teleport! 1000 'planets' of pretty much nothing.

    * Most of the main NPC characters are just dull. If feel no connection with them what so ever. The only one I kinda like is Sam Coe. he NPC characters are a bit too chatty. For some reason, they all what too talk to you for some reason... . Endlessly talking about their private life, loved ones, lost husband, daugther... . It's a nice attempt for creating a bond with the characters, but does anyone really care about conversations like that?

    * Do I regret my 100$ purchase? I should've probably just bought the standard version. Or try it out first on xbox game pass. It's a oke fill the gap game. But it's really not what I thought it would or could be.

Let's just hope that the Elders scrolls 6 will be much better. Just plzzzzz stop doing the same stuff over and over again!!!

Bad performance no matter what HW you have, Bethesda doesn't fix this POS, it just says you have to update, cynics. It lacks HDR, raytracing and DLSS support, but these Bethesda mofos believe Starfield is "next generation.". Nice story bros, your ancient engine don't have to do with anything. This needs heavy patching/modding as always with Bethesda.

Starfield is the embodiment of 'tried to do too much and ended up doing nothing right.'

It's like they handed Skyrim space gear and said, 'Fly, my Dragonborn!' but forgot to give it wings or a functional jetpack.

    Open World:
Starfield is a stale, soulless “world,” that feels disconnected.

Everything is locked behind a loading screen and the game doesn't have an "open world" to navigate and experience. You jump from objective to objective via the UI like some sort of CoD Campaign. You are not in control of flying your ship between systems, landing your ship, departing from settlements, attempting risky docking to board other ships. Everything is a fast travel cut-scene initiated via a key-bind or through the confusing UI.

You read that right. There is no traveling, landing, or exploring to do on your own. When you are “in orbit” around a “planet” you can’t go anywhere; no matter how long you fly for you are no closer to the planet you see ahead of you than before. That’s because being “in orbit” around a “planet” only serves as a “placeholder;” an enclosed waiting zone to open the UI and choose where to fast travel next. There is no open space to navigate. Everything is done via cutscenes which only make you hungry for more. Why can’t I fly my ship wherever I want to in a System? Why can’t I manually find a spot on a planet and land there myself? One click on the map and you suddenly teleport to Neon city. Where is the awe of discovering it by yourself through exploration?

This makes Starfield feel more like a collection of maps/dungeons with no clear link between each other, rather than a connected and breathing world. It's like playing Skyrim, but you are only allowed to teleport between dungeons through the map interface - without the open world in-between.

    Cities:
Like space, cities feel disconnected and non-immersive. New Atlantis, for instance, is not even a unified city. Instead, cities are split into various parts requiring you to fast travel between each district. Other than soulless “citizen” NPCs walking aimlessly around with no schedule, nothing of interest is going on to justify having so many loading screens.

In addition, almost every single building or shop has a loading screen to access, which is very weird since 90% of buildings with interiors are basically just an empty lobby with one shopkeeper. This makes simple fetching quests a nightmare. You have to go through 5 different loading screens just to deliver a package from one part of the city to another.

    Spaceship:
It feels like they wasted all these resources for the Spaceship builder, yet neglected adding gameplay that will make your spaceship meaningful. Space traveling, planet exploration, landing/docking mechanics, and fuel planning - just to name a few. As it stands right now, your spaceship is just a storage locker between your UI fast travels. It is so tedious to fast travel that you may end up not seeing your spaceship for hours during a playthrough, since you instantly teleport to the selected locations and spawn outside your ship. To see your ship and add “immersion,” you would need to add 3 more loading screens to your fast travels. Pointless, since you have no control over anything. You only get to watch the game do everything for you via cutscenes.

    Combat:
It’s… working. Like in any basic first-person shooter game. There are no “classes” or anything else that will make you think “Damn, on my next playthrough I am gonna play as X and Y.” You can tell by the Skill Points you get to allocate that all Traits offer small bonuses to combat (e.g., deal 10% more damage with Pistols) that add no distinctive gameplay or new combat mechanics. They are just… flat bonuses to damage, health, persuasion, ship damage. Class-wise, the only option you have would be to either play a ranged build or a (hardly viable) melee build. That’s it.

    Outpost Building:
Barebones and clunky. We will most probably see paid DLCs adding props and things to expand building, like they did with Fallout 4 (they released 3 paid workshop DLCs).

    Land Vehicles:
Yep, they did it too. The only way of traversing is by foot – no land vehicles/rovers exist in the future. Fast Traveled to a planet in a super-ship? Now you need to jog like clown for 1200m in a barren and empty wasteland just to reach an enemy encampment. Be careful not to go too far or you’ll hit an invisible wall.

    Story:
As soon as you launch the game, you are given a ship, a place to stay, and suddenly a full organization blindly trusts you – which is very off-putting. This feels like a big “roleplaying” part of the game is cutout.

    Graphics:
Starfield feels like a texture-enhancement Fallout 4 mod. There is little improvement between Starfield and Fallout 4.

Bethesda has taken everything they have learned from their previous RPG's and refined it in Starfield. The level of Role-Play available is great. The sheer amount of quests and things to find is great. Planet exploration could have been handled better. Maybe cut the number of planets to add more unique things to those remaining planets? I know they are going for a more "realistic" depiction of space. Which in fact has mostly barren rock/ice planets. But I recognize it can be tedious. Starfield has the best gunplay of any Bethesda game. All these assumptions that some people had the game would be. Has no one learned from Cyberpunk? Excepting too much from a game will always end in disappointment. Can we pull back, take a breath, and be fair to the game? Expand

A review coming from a PlayStation supporter who played the game on PC

    Pros:

Amazing story, it takes a while for it to heat up but is still amazing

Side quests and faction quests are so good that they rival the main storyline

Soundtrack is pretty good, but a lot of the time it sounds very similar to Fallout's soundtrack

Lots of character customization options, not as much as Cyberpunk 2077, but still there’s a lot

Combat and gunplay is a massive improvement over Fallout 4, not as good as other shooter games but still pretty good

There’s more verticality in combat with the boost packs and low gravity which is always fun

Making the protagonist silent was the right way to go

The list based conversation system returns instead of the conversation wheel, which is good

No sense of urgency in the beginning, which is good

Lots of choices for roleplaying like smuggling contraband, robbing ships, resolving situations peacefully or by force, stealing ships, bounty hunting, surveying planets, and many other choices

The graphics are the best Bethesda has ever done, in a lot of instances they rival and sometimes surpass other titles

Planets are really diverse with different color pallets, biomes, flora, fauna, resources, and gravity!

Each major city and settlement is highly detailed with their size, lots of citizens, and small stories

All of the cities are diverse and unique from the bustling city of New Atlantis to the space wild west styled Akila City

Ship customization options are staggeringly plentiful and good

Outpost building is pretty good and is completely optional so it doesn't sacrifice the quality of the game

The procedural generation on the planets doesn't get in the way of the game's quality in my opinion

Locations in procedural areas and planets are selected from a library of handcrafted locations, quests, and characters and then placed in the world, which is good

So much potential for mods like adding the Pelican from Halo or the Normandy from Mass Effect and so much more!

    Cons:

There are loading screens a plenty, but in my personal opinion it's a small price to pay for the interactivity of the world and other things

The art style shines in a lot of areas but also looks kind of bland in a lot of areas too

Exploration is okay but not as good as previous Bethesda titles

There are bugs and glitches often but not to the point where the game is unplayable and there is nothing game breaking Piloting a ship is okay but it feels pretty sluggish and slow A couple of dated elements of the game like windows not shattering when you shoot them or no crouch detection Strangely there is no map when you're on the planets, I mean come on the game is in the year 2330 Verdict: 9 out of 10

Not bad as people say. Far from being good as Todd Howard said. The game doesn't make a good use of space theme and the story could be in a single planet (and it would be better without so many fast travels between planets). The story is also a little cliche.

This game got me to spend my time playing it. I am currently on 19 Hours and still enjoying it. If you run on a lower end pc get mods from nexus mods to help with performance. DO NOT rely on the bad reviews here since they are mostly from butt hurt ps ponies.

But also abuses of ray tracing, everything in Atlantis looks like ceramic

Thus I can't believe so awful optimization, it can run al least 30% better. There are another games with much better quality and less load game screens. I'm getting almost the same fps as in series S but another games runs at double

-2 Lacks of minimap and procedural generation. We have seen much better procedural generation in another games like No Man's Sky

But considering I played BG3,D4,FF16, and Zelda this year, I'm still easily putting more time into this. I already have about 80 hours and I'm barely scratching the surface. The gunplay is done really well, and the ship building is the best part of the game IMO. Once you get a grasp of it, the game opens up immensely.

I have played 5 hours of the game. I did not want to hate the game, I loved Skyrim and went in with a controller, even that i'm used to a mouse and keyboard, so adjust my rating by that.

First hour was slow, but so were other games, so I do not mind that at all. I was struggling with controller controls the first encounter and well, the future encounters, but The tutorial was done, im free to fly a ship. Well, "free", more on that later. The ship controls arent bad, but the UI seems a bit cluttered and the manueverability is horrible, but I guess that has to do with my ship. Getting to know the ship controls. The adjustable rotation is nice to have, but would be better to have side thrusters for better lock on enemies. Having 3 weapons, I dont know, seems a bit too much, I would rather have two weapons, where I can change each with parts in ship design, two would be better in my opinion. Three seems a tiny bit much, especially for controller. But again, I struggle with controllers

The ship Tutorial is done, I fly to kill some pirate leader with.... overly obnoxious robot. Here start the problems I have. The companions are more annoying than a god damned Lydia from Skyrim. And first I though, its just the robot... no... all of them are. You go encumbered and they immediately comment "oh, your looting will slow us down" and stuff like that. All. The. Time. It drives me nuts. And I get they are essential NPCs.... I just want them to either shut up or die for that. Im a "loot goblin" let me loot.
A nice touch is the lockpicking system, I found it quite fun and can only imagine how hard it can get on higher difficulties, but thankfully the easy ones were.... easy... even medium one, extremely easy. But I will give it benefit of the doubt, that it will get harder and I would like that.
The combat AI is easily flankable, not something that needs to be written about.
The interior design is actually kinda good, I like it, how there are all the things everywhere. A bane to my looting tho... as it all weights a ton
Having some purple gear and some rares from the pirate capitan I get to my ship and fly away....
Then it hits me. There is no free space, its just one huge box, where I am required to fast travel no matter what. I also saw people on twitter showing, how they fly through planets and Sun. This is quite awful to be honest. I wanted to just land anywhere and have the planet generated and just go anywhere, guess not... ( it can still be a box, but let me land there... physically, not in loading screen hidden in cutscene )

So first city comes with another load of problems... load... you know.... because there is like loading screen for like every tiny shop, that can just be in the world without loading door?
So here comes the 30 year old engine, that was just decent when it came out and now is just a huge hinderance.
Okay, i played my mailman part, gave the guys my weird alien metal or alloy or what that is and now comes the worst character in the game, even worse than the robot... the fricking blonde girl.... JUST.SHUT.UP. shut your month. No buts, no ifs, just go into the corner and shut up.

As I have lack of characters lets just get a bit quicker...
The weapons seem okay so far, decent ( in terms of variety ), feeling is alright, better than many games.
The same cant be said about the suits, helmets and clothing.... The beginning ones just seem superior to all... I have yet to come upon a purple suit or helmet, so I ant tell that much, but even blue one seems hardly as an upgrade.
Is there a crafting station in my ship ? havent found one, so im walking with all the materials.
The 5 second sprint and then literal dying is just god awful. Who came up with this ?
I know they are planets, but at least make the story ones, i mean the boxes you have a story mission in a bit more...... not a barren landscape.
I have yet to fly with a jetpack, havent tried that.
The story is aight. Nothing that interesting.
The graphics... 2018 graphics in 2023 arent a good look... pun intended as always

now the social part. I dont want the game to "finally be fun" after 40 hours of gameplay... its the same like Bleach fanboys "just wait, after 700 episodes, it finally gets better, I swear". The game is supposed to be fun at the start, its supposed to grab you and make you want to play it.

I will play more of it, but I dont really want to. Its just decent. There are better games to sink your time into. Is whats in Vanilla. I bet those 900 mods will make it good, but mods arent the game. If we will rate it as a GAME, its decent 6/10, maybe 7/10 if it really gets better later on for me.
We cant rate it as modding FRAMEWORK just yet, we dont know what community will do with it, so there is just UNKNOWN for me....

I also want to comment on the commentators here. You are seriously annoying. It is unfair to give 0 points to a game that has put so much effort into it. Starfield is not perfect, it even has many shortcomings, but it deserves at least 8 points and I give it 10 because it is a serious injustice.

"Exploring" barren, copy/paste environments gets repetitive quickly. The uninteresting main story starts out absurd and then devolves into a series of boring fetch quests. The characters have all the charisma of deep-fried roadkill. Most NPCs are bug-eyed Lovecraftian horrors with claymation face designs and animations straight out of TES: Oblivion. Despite what critics are saying, the game isn't polished. I experienced numerous bugs of varying severity including a quest-breaker in just the first 12 hours.

On a more positive note, the gunplay is the best of BGS's games but that's not saying much. You can also get Adam Jensen as a companion which is kind of cool.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is... excellent. It has kind of a rocky start, but after that it really comes into its own.

The main exploration gameplay isn't going to be for everyone, but I certainly enjoy it. You touch down on a random planet and have a checklist of all the flora, fauna, resources, and special features to survey. Once you complete the survey, you get it as an item in your inventory which you can then sell for 500-1000 credits or so. The planets also have semi-randomized locations with spacer bases and occasionally radiant quests to clear out those spacer bases. The fun part is because they're all randomized, there's no pressure to do them. You can just hop over to a spacer base, get the 20xp for finding it, then bounce away.

The boost pack is fun and adds interesting tactical choices, like jumping between cover on the outside of a base and sniping. It's less useful indoors, but can still sometimes help to get to higher ground. Space combat is a little frustrating at first, but once you get a better ship than the starting one it gets a lot better. The persuasion system in this game is hands down the best I've ever seen in any game, bar none. You have 3 chances to make persuasion rolls and need X number of successes to persuade them. What makes this great is that even though your choices are randomized each turn, every option has a success and failure dialogue line unique to it, so it feels like you're having an actual conversation.

I think the weakest aspect of this game is the main plot. The rest of the factions are fine and the writing is pretty solid, I just don't like Constellation. I think the problem is so much of the development was spent building this huge universe and all these factions and all the new tech that they forgot to answer the question of why we should care at all about Constellation or want to join them. They just showed up after a very truncated opening, immediately put me in danger and got 4 of my colleagues killed, then gave me a ship, a robot, and a watch and said, "You're part of something bigger now." Then they ask, "Aren't you at least a little curious about the artifact and the vision?" Um... no? I'm a bunny hopping snake cultist with a mortgage, I don't care. If they were a small down on their luck explorer's club that is always accepting applicants but nobody joins because they don't pay well and nobody cares about exploration, that'd be one thing. By making them exclusive, however, they come across as arrogant, condescending elitists. Just because I was invited to the popular kids' table doesn't mean I don't know they're awful.

Where this game really excels, though, is letting you make your own story. Here's mine thusfar:

After politely declining Constellation, telling them I needed time to think, I set out to buy my own starship because I don't want to be indebted to them. I did some odd jobs around New Atlantis and helped out the police, but I only managed to scare up 20-30000 credits and the cheapest ship goes for 54000. The cheerful man at the bank turned me onto some debt collections I could do for them, so I reluctantly borrowed the Frontier and headed out.

I had to stop over at a small system on the way, figured I could do some surveying, sold them to a small colony I found, along with some weapons I got off some mercs that touched down on the way. When I arrive in the debtor's system, I get a distress call, a colonist who's been being harassed by spacers. I respond and end up getting embroiled in a series of space battles. First battle goes poorly, so I stop over to collect the debt before I get myself into more trouble.

Speaking of, I check out a tower on that planet that I thought was abandoned, get into a huge fight with some spacers and use most of my medical supplies. I also find a box of contraband Earth antiques in an air vent, decide to take it with me. A Spacer Raccoon ship touches down and I decide to sneak up and steal medkits in their loading bay. They spot me, a fight ensues, I hop up on their ship and snipe, then take cover in the loading bay and finish them off. The last guy takes off running and the ship takes off with me in it. I gun down the captain and her guards and now I have a new ship, much tougher than my old one, and free too. I collect the debt and help the colonists finish off the spacers. It's a close thing, though. I finish off the last of them with no medkits and a quarter health.

I head back to New Atlantis hoping to offload my cargo and see if I can find a buyer for that contraband. The Raccoon doesn't even need to stop at the other system. I'm told I have a percentage chance to hide contraband. I do not. I am arrested and transferred over to a UC capital ship... in orbit around Mars. Far away from where I'm supposed to be. UC Commander Ikande hires me to work undercover and infiltrate the Crimson Fleet, and here's where I leave off.

So, this game is awesome... if you let it be.

The game feels pretty lifeless compared to Bethesda's other games. The characters don't feel like they could be real people and give off big ME Andromeda launch vibes. They have bizarre facial animations that I'm surprised haven't really been criticized at all as they are at least on par with Andromeda. But when it comes to the story, game mechanics and exploration, the game is good.

The only downside to me is the amount of loading screens. But that's fine and after some time I got used to them. Main missions are interesting and some of the side quests are even better than the main ones. So, take your time playing this game and don't rush things.

In short: if you like Bethesda games and also like this kind of RPG but you're not sure about Starfield, play it for free on Xbox Game Pass. Don't waste your time reading/seeing reviews out there. Unfortunately, there's been flame war over this game because it's an MS exclusive.

I understand some people are disappointed with the game, but it's still a good Bethesda game.

Also remember: when it comes to gaming, YOUR experience is what really matters. I assure you that some games you love, a lot of people doesn't give a dam, and it's fine. Just do you.

+20h in: so far to me it is okay, but really nothing special. I'm not disappointed, but it's not what many people wanted the game to be/pretend it was.
Game of the year should definitely become BG3.

Honest Review - Without the nonsense u see in other comments If ur reading other reviews ur going to see a lot of BS. Starfield is a bethesda game through and through and space just happens to be the setting the game takes place in.

Story, Characters, Questing is the main objective of this game. Not ship building. Not walking around random planets. Not all this other dumb crap people are complaining about that was never ever advertised in the game to begin with lol

Also the reviews from playstation fans in super embarrassing. If u like bethesda games and are familiar with their style then u are going to love this game. If u arent a fan of their style, then this game clearly not for you

So complaining about that is just embarrassing. Why are people checking things online about stuff they don’t enjoy…I don’t know.

But what I do know is that this is oblivion/fallout4 in space. Thats the best way to describe it. The quests are well written, good voice acting and engaging. Ur characters combat will become more fulfilling the higher level you get, and once the game starts flowing its one of the most immersive experiences u may have:

Other things people arent being honest about :

Yes there is loading screens. They are 2-3 seconds MAX

Bad design, bad IA, exploration the selling point of this game is ultra limit, graphics outdated the most part of the game, a big tuturial that make you spend a lot of hours and the build it's terrible optimized.

Une aventure épique dans l'espace. Starfield tire le meilleur parti des précédents jeux du studio, avec le meilleur récit de science-fiction sur l’espace jamais créé. Bravo et merci à Bethesda pour ce chef d'oeuvre !

    > Took 7 years to make > 1 year delay > Same engine from 2006 > 10 Guns in the WHOLE game > Same planets > Bad ai. Not worth your money, Ubisoft's try for no man's sky was better than this you should buy that instead it's cheaper and the exploration feeling was WAY better.

I feel the game is vey addictive. I have 47hrs play time and have been really enjoying the game.Only issue i have is i wish starfield supports nvidia dlss in setting. I am not very good at figuring out mods never have been. I also find myself listening to the story i usually just skip story stuff but like starfields.

trailer praising the immensity of the universe, all the very concept of exploration is reduced to nothing, we go from loading to loading in instances of ultra repetitive and uninteresting worlds, all worlds are colonized by random pirates, it's really pathetic, a waste of time

Based on my extensive experience playing this game, I'd like to share some thoughts. During the initial hours of gameplay, I was perplexed by the subpar optimization. Even on my Nvidia 3080 desktop, the frame rate wasn't stable, and it failed to reach the expected high levels. Meanwhile, the 3D modeling and texture quality resembled those of games released five years ago. The storylineBased on my extensive experience playing this game, I'd like to share some thoughts. Meanwhile, the 3D modeling and texture quality resembled those of games released five years ago. The storyline lacked depth, and the SPACE theme failed to resonate with me; I didn't feel like I was truly immersed in a space-themed game. I hope Bethesda can address these technical issues in future patches and improve performance. In summary, I am disappointed by a game released in 2023. Expand

Update: I don't own any console from microsoft or sony, and am just a PC player with several hundred hours of Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallount NV and Fallout 4. Loved these games, lived without problem with the bugs but I can't live in a glorified maze of multiple rooms filled with minimaps, which this game is.

For instance, there is no minimap and only fast-travel for a good reason: the core design of the game cannot allow it.
As the Creation Engine 2 is going to be used for TES6, I'll pass from now on on all Bethesda games and I doubt that mods will fix anything (I play the vanilla versions anyway).

Not only the developers and more precisely Todd Howard, are outdated and live in the shadow of their former glory, but their main working tool is working on outdated paradigms, concepts and algorithms.

The reason why this game has such high hardware requirements exceeding those of CP2077 to run barely decently is that at its core, it's pushing the antiquated algorithms of an antiquated game engine to a level it was not designed to handle.

I am glad that some are happy enjoying this game, but in the same time, I think they are quite foolish trying to convince the world his is the 8th wonder of the world of gaming. It is simply not that.
    End of Update.

I'm glad I got a refund for this product. It's using the update of an antiquated game engine, which results in severe limitations breaking immersion. The game is simply not fun, not as advertised and it doesn't even meet basic standards for the underlying concepts like O2/CO2 to measure exertion.

It's like a rehash of previous failures, but magnified.

The reason why insane hardware requirements are necessary to achieve decent performance (and I didn't have any issue with my rig) is the outdated game engine. This game engine is designed exclusively to function as an update of the previous one used in 2006 products, so everything is built around its limitations: that's why we have loading screens for the pseudo open world which is in fact a series of minimaps, etc.

Again, thanks to Steam for honoring the refund policy and Shame on Bethesda for their broken promises. As for the corporate shills reviewing the game, I'll believe them when they release the gameplay session they use to build their review as it's literally impossible to explain rationally the disconnect between customer reviews and the journalists.

I have bought the game, gave it a fair chance but it's real garbage, it' worth 0. Even if the score is decent and the aesthetics are better than previous productions, and to date there is no microtransactions.

It’s everything I hoped it would be. It has main story, side quest, activities, missions, etc. I have the option to play how I want, even giving my character their own backstory. I can be a space pirate, an upholder of the law, little bit of both. I see myself playing this for a long time, over 30 hours already. Great job BGS. Starfield, a game where you have the ability to travel to many different planets and systems, build your own ship, learn the fantastic and interesting story and lore and get lost in side quests and side activities. So much to do and find out. What's not to love? In my opinion, I am having a blast playing this game and every new discovery makes it that much better. Nah, it does have some flaws and downsides but it does not warrant how I feel about the game. Should also mention, I am glad it's not a No Mans Sky, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous or BG3 because those games are not Starfield and are made by different developers and they had different goals when they made those games.

I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
