    man… what started off as a great game with a lot of potential has already been ruined, and devs aren’t gonna walk back their decisions. they just made quite possibly the worst balance changes i’ve ever seen in any rpg of all time, and i’ve been playing rpgs for my whole life… do better.

    First patch absolutely ruined this game. Drops are terrible and loot is not worth chasing. Anything worth doing got nerfed, on top of everyone’s builds. Lack of endgame content is an embarrassment.

Look, I'm 35 years old and a casual player but I've spent over 100 hours during the last 6 weeks building a character - had so much fun with my friends in the process, the main story was cool.     I was enjoying the game for all of its launch flaws and incompleteness and I was looking forward to the first season to start. It was already a little slow. Then the first major patch dropped and they destroyed everything that was still fun about the game. They made progression even more tedious and managed to nerf the WEAKEST CLASS in the game (sorc) even more.     This game was perfect but with the new changes it just made this game so unfun, it appears they are forcing people to never play eternal charcters ever again to force everyone to play new season for them to have a chance to purchase thier season pass. overall not happy with the results on this.

    base game could have been incredible, but it's blizzard and they destroy all fun out of their games.

    Devs need to go play their game and figure out how to make it actually enjoyable.

    Worst itemization designs that are simply stuck in the game for good because their design philosophy was flawed.

After a few updates that made the game more pleasant to play, they drop the infamous 1.1 patch which nerfs everything and making the game even slower to level up and play than when it first released right before the Season 1 start. This game is DOA even before the finish of the first season and I hope that it will be better when I decide to reinstall it after they get their crap together probably 10 to 11 seasons from now… Expand

Less XP, helltides give less cinders (it has been reported as a bug and will be fixed next hotfix, but when uber uniques were dropping from helltides chest it was fixed 1 hour later), nerfed damage that was multiplicative i.e. vul damage, main statThis game had potential.     The complaints can go on and on. This was not the right direction for the game. The whole purpose of this patch was to slow down the game. Slow it down for players don't realize there is no end-game content. What is the goal of Diablo 4? Nightmare Dungeon 100? Uber Lilith? Once you complete either one, then what? PvP? PvP is a total mess. Rogues running around rampant.

    Any power the game gave you before Patch 1.1 .0a. was taken away to make you do less damage to creeps, have higher cooldowns, have less damage from creeps, and take longer to level up. If this nerf was done because of the new season then this is a terrible implementation of the patch for anyone who plays the eternal realm. All their time and dedication to the game is gone.    … Expand

    Patch 1.1.0a made game agonizing to play. Fun at first, but after every update the game just gets less and less fun. Blizzard really just takes the fun out of their games by changing in game mechanics. and it makes me think that's their business model. Happened with COD now happening with Diablo 4. They want to make us not enjoy ourselves so that we will buy the next game that seems like fun.

    I feel totally scammed. They are trying to make players invest in a Battle pass to play a season just one month after launch. So I bought a game for $90 and you want me to pay more money to play something that wasn't delivered in the first place? I'm tired of people defending this. More time, more shifting of our builds, more grinding at a slower pace for less reward while you preach to us about how malignant hearts will save us all.

    I'm over it as a long term player since D1, perhaps I'm too old to go for blatant BS anymore but I did NOT GET what I paid for and I won't pay another dime to fix something that the developers clearly will continue to break. Blizzard is truly dead. I hope Microsoft buries it after the takeover. The old school nostalgia is not enough to super glue and duct tape together this absolute **** show of a company.

    Initially I enjoyed this game. I chose sorcerer as my first class and got to level 88, then I learned and experienced how weak the class I chose was. Itemization was lacking, storage was lacking, end game overall was lacking. The most fun aspect of the game was self created. I would make multiple characters to experiment with builds. I guess I had hoped that Blizzard realized that was nonviable long term. Yet here we are. Maybe come revisit this game in a year or so.     It was a patch that made the game last longer by giving users more tasks rather than more fun.
    Through plausible trailers and numerous advertisements, they have achieved sales volume and are now making efforts to reduce the number of users to reduce operating costs.
    This situation will continue to repeat unless the management team changes and the direction changes.

    Devs are out of touch. I thought this was a decent base game and they would improve on it. When eternal realm released who payed more got to access it early and I thought that would be the worst. I regret buying the game. I should have spent the money on better things.

    If you were on the fence. This is an ACTION RPG with slow paced action. It's a LOOT hunter with boring loot. This is an MMO with no social aspects. A dungeon crawler that feels more like a game of fetch the stones and put them on the pedestals.

Y ahora con el lanzamiento de la primera temporada, han terminado de romper el juego. Cualquier tipo de problema técnico que pueda tener un juego, este lo tiene. Tiempos de espera para entrar de más de media hora, tiempos de pantalla de carga de más de diez minutos, usar los teletransportes equivale a desconectarse del juego, ir a caballo equivale a que se congele la pantalla y mueras o que se desconecte el juego, ir andando implica que te encuentres con muros invisibles que no puedes atravesar en medio de un pueblo desierto porque el juego no ha sido capa, de cargarlo... Luego intentas comunicar los errores a su sistema técnico y no hay forma de hacerlo. Muy descontento con el juego y su servicio técnico, es prácticamente una estafa.… Expand

Increasing the cooldowns and minimizing the armor, even though the developers are aware that the resistance system on which the class is built is currently broken, is the height of absurdity. I can only imagine what kind of conversation about the Sorceress took place at Blizzard:
    Head of Development: Hey? Is that **** sorceress finally dead?
    Head of Balancing: Well, I think so? We buried her.
    Head of Development: But she still has quite a lot of followers! Take care of it!
    Head of Balancing: Okay, we'll dig her up again, and burn everything thats left! Just to be sure!

    Either the developers are completely oblivious to their own game mechanics or it's a deliberate action to slow down players and generate longer playtime per player to improve the statistics (KPI). Instead of finally creating decent endgame content, they simply stretch the path to the endgame indefinitely, so the lack of content isn't noticed as quickly.    … Expand

    The new update is terrible, the season pass sucks and looks more for pay to win instead of pay to fun. Also the servers was down many times for 3-4 weeks. They need to balance it and make the things better.

The class has traditionally always been a glass cannon - they kept the glass but forgot the cannon. It's laughable how little damage they do compared to other classes.

    I was having fun in season 0, the game was fairly grindy, but the nightmare dungeons and the helltides were at least semi-fun. Now the season 1 patch has made the game an absolute chore. Everything is slower. Everything is less fun. I feel like the product I was playing was a bait and switch, and wish I didn't enjoy the game prior to this point because then I could ask for a refund.     Devs clueless destroying the game without listening to the community. Nerfs instead of buffing is the No 1 rule. Unique droprates of certain items are way to low so you cant play the build you want to play, the one you playing because of this fact is nerfed to death

    I've never seen such a completle lack of care for the game.

    There's been constant lag, disconnects & overall just complete garbage of deaths/incompolete dungeons/ items not coming to your inventory.

    I would respect if they would communicate their flaws & openly say they are improving stuff. But it doesnt' look like they care at all.

    I have been a gamer for most of my life. In fact, 1 year away from 20 years playing video games. This is the only game I have ever played in my entire life where I fell asleep midgame. I am being beyond serious. I have played numerous ARPGs before, including Diablo, yet Diablo 4 makes me jolt awake when I die because my brain has picked up the sound changes. Terrible game.

    $90 for 6 hours of story line.
    This is just a copy past of diablo 3 and took 10 years to make.

    Don't waste your money. Buy diablo 3 and watch the diablo 4 cut sceans on youtube. Basically the same game.

    It also did not work right on release and has been going through balancing patches like crazy. 10 years to make, they should be embarrassed.

And this is where the game utterly fails in every regard. The end game loop of nightmare dungeons, hell tides, gathering legions and world bosses is at best, tedious. The dungeons are samey and get boring very quickly, the hell tides are just flat out dull and annoying trying to find the one chest which 'might' drop some half decent loot. Gathering legions is zero challenge and lasts a minute or so as several high level players blitz everything as it spawns. The world boss is no longer any kind of challenge either, there will always be several level 100 guys meaning it will die in no time at all, plus, again, there's a real lack of variation. In it's current state this game is worth 20 bucks, or if like me you got it free with a GPU then it's worth doing the story and that's it.… Expand

    Amazing story graphics and performance, it even has some fantastic easter eggs for old Diablo fans.
    The only drawback I see is the store, I would have preferred to see them add the skins they made before release to the actual game rather than in the store.

    that being said, being able to play with friends on other consoles is wonderful.

    I would HIGHLY recommend picking up this game, it is wonderfully paced, with a great atmosphere and fantastic storytelling. It feels like a true blizzard game and it has to be commended as such.
    I hope this trend continues in the future, and I am looking very much forward to the expansions when they are ready.    … Expand

    Good game that is completely ruined by monetization and a decade old seasonal model that doesn’t align with live service games and paid battle passes. I’m not sure what is worse: Diablo 3’s auction house, Diablo Immortal, or Diablo 4’s season and battle pass model.

    While the main campaign is decent and midly enganging. Unfortunuately the abismal endgame ruins the experience: the acvtivities are boring and the reward sucks. To cover for this lack of enganging content, just before the start of season 1 Blizzard had the wonderful idea of gutting the damage of all the classes AND nerfing the xp gains to artificially increase playtime.

Nothing changes since T2, no new skills, same items just with higher stats (green arrow up yeaaah). Enemy scaling is one of the worst ideas in video games. It's lazy, negates several play styles, ruins player power trips, and just sucks.

    My personal conclusion is a    ampaign done, first few dungeons done, Tree of Whispers, Helltides. Lost all motivatoin after reaching T4 to even continue. Nothing changes since T2, no new skills, same items just with higher stats (green arrow up yeaaah). Enemy scaling is one of the worst ideas in video games. It's lazy, negates several play styles, ruins player power trips, and just sucks.

    My personal conclusion is a maximum of 6/10, if not 5/10.

    Pluses: - Graphics of course, atmo - Sound, voice output. Story does not pick up until A4

    That's where you actually stop again unfortunately, Blizzard hasn't invented anything innovative here, the shell is shiny and pretty , but inside you find again the repeating bad quality blizzard has brought up through the last years.

    Negatives:

    MMO aspect? Almost pointless whether I see another player or not, no global chat. Zero social interaction

    Spot white empty landscapes when you want to go from point a to point b

    Bosses, in principle, all the same, nobrain fights, Space Dodge here, Attack Attack, Dodge, run in circles

    No build variety, you start with a skill at level 5 and will continue to use it at level 60 if switched at all

    itemization same snot as with D3, +2 here, +1 str there, whether the items have stats or not is completely irrelevant , in the end you just look for the right aspects/leg effects and that's it unfortunately

    Feeling of progression, I feel as strong at level 60 as I did at level 20. No power spikes, no aha moment

    every build stackels vulnerability + main stat + critical hit + luck, always! no matter what class, you want more dmg? These are your stats. Grim Dawn, PoE, even Torch Light or Titan Quest change your skills over the course of the game, more projectile speed, more projectiles, other effects, cast on crit, cast on cast, cast on hit, look different graphics , etc. Depending on the class, you can use the same skills in other games, but they then have completely different effects. Paragon Board is also nothing more than Paragons in d3. You're just looking to get more of the same(major stat, crit, etc.)

    Side quests are your standard MMO food, run there, collect 5 of this, bring back.

    Endgame Loop is virtually without diversity, whether I grind Dungeons, Helltides, Tree of Whispers, the basic problem with the "hollow" basic concept of the game remains

    If you don't necessarily need to jump on the bandwagon, or absolutely have to have the latest game or just "be part of the d4 release movement" you should buy the game for 20$ in a year

    The game went from a decent 7 to an absolute 0 for me after blizzard's decision to nerf monster density. Its an obvious attempt to prolong the games life and prevent people from making meaningful progress. My armchair theory is theyre doing this so they can SELL US EXPERIENCE BONUSES during the season.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
