    The worst communist game ever. There is no freedom of play for users, users are shackled and dragged around by what incompetent Blizzard developers full of rotten ideas think is right, and due to their dirty communist-style operation methods, game users are subject to various bugs in the terrible Diablo 4 that they created. You have to experience a game that is at its lowest level of completion.

    The visuals are good and the story story is fairly interesting; Blizzard as usual is good at making cinematics. The combat is fairly boring and the itemization isn't very interesting. Sigils are annoying to manage so nightmare dungeons are a more annoying way to do rifts. Enemies do fake telegraphing, they will hit you even if you aren't in the indicated area.     The campaign graphics, UI, Music, cutscenes, presentation etc. are all phenomenal. Too bad all of the systems, gear, and combat are so paper thin in complexity and interest. This game is so broken in the current state that I don't know how they salvage this thing.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Diablo 4 started well in the beta, but the Vanilla Diablo 4 game came out and quickly the nerfs began... Fast forward, just before the release of season 1: Everything got nerfed so hard people cannot be asked to even play anymore, that is insane. Everyone was hyped for season 1, now everyone hates the game... GG, at least it took the (new/current) Bungie years to destroy and downgrade the Destiny franchise to a hamster wheel slot machine, Blizzard destroyed Diablo 4 in less than 2 months...     Newest patch was just released, and blizzard decided to make it even grinder. Nerfs all classes, makes it harder to lvl up, barely addresses any of the bugs in the game. Feels very short sighted and has made the game boring and not fun. This is a lot based game, and the loot in end game is just    Sold as a game and it was fun at first.     The Campagne is pretty good, but mgameplay just doesn't make a lot of fun, especially after WT4. WT4 is just grinding WT3 over again with 0 new elements...

    Path of Exile doesnt even need to invest in advertising, this game did it for free.

    This game has literally no endgame, fundamental defensive mechanics dont work (resistances), Dungeons are boring, with boring quests inside them in order to complete, layouts are trash in most of them, and the gearing and glyph system is very shallow and boring.

    Apart from some good features it is unacceptable to have such bad servers...very frequent loging issues, disconnects and in game lag. Also in game desynchs are very often. Many issues as well with a lot of people with game freezing and having to terminate through task manager. And you thjink people wiould hard quit the game instead so therefor players have to be at the server 10-40 seconds after a disconnect so it is 100 percent for sure the hardcore character dies.

    The problem is not the hours played and the character dies. The **** problem is that we invest a lot of gear, gold and farming to have a fun game. But you took that away from us. Hope you rotten like Elias Blizzards!

    You had all the possibilities to make a great game. Listen to beta testers and so ... No, you are to proud! But we are to smart! Take your game and put it up somewhere!

    There is no space to storage your equipment...in an ARPG equipment game...in 2023. For me, the most annoying thing is that I can't test the playstyle of other builds because I don't have the gear to support me.     The game was decent. All it needed is the proper endgame, more diverse loot and additional systems like runes. And content, more items, affixes, bosses. And QoL updates.

    Instead the devs choose to end the game, nerfing the already weak classes, nerfing and slowing down every aspect of the game. Is this a joke?

    Patch 1.1 took what fun I could have and nerfed it by 30%, but if you were playing a Sorc I think they just uninstalled the game for you.

    Will change score when the devs choose to take off their blinders, take out their earplugs, and make the game more fun, and less tedious.

    Story is more of the same old stuff; not good, not bad. standard tropes. Ignore the few upvotes saying story is a 20 hour thing - for a player new to the genre it's around 40-50, for a person not trying to rush it should take approximately 30. ((this is now closer to 70-80 due to time increases and inventory issues))

    Audio: Music is good... until you've listened to it for 5 hours. it's good, but it's not good enough to listen on repeat. Other sounds are often out of place, and clash with the other aesthetics in the game.

    Color scheme is better than D3, but still (IMO) not as good as D2. Weirdly, I know too may people who have had "it's too dark" issues while it looks perfectly fine to me. May have been a bug from character choice or manually set to darker contract on their monitors. Main issue is the lack of difference between active things (chests, traps, hidden stashes, etc) and the general background; it doesn't matter how dark or light anything is when everything looks the same (within each area, there are differences between the areas).

    Speaking of bugs... yeah for many people it's basically unplayable. Hardcore is extra unplayable. There's no point in listing them all here as every week there are new ones which break the game in new and (not) fun ways.

    Combat is good for about 5 minutes of every hour. 90% of the time you'll be completely untouchable, then you get a hard CC or one-shot that will kill you and there's no way out of them other than being hyper vigilant with dashes and movement skills. Every class gets at least 1, and every class requires they be used to avoid these oneshots. It's not fun to play for 4 hours, get a bit complacent because everything is too easy (even in World Tier 4), then get oneshot by an off-screen elite.

    Skill-wise it looks interesting, but if you manage to play longer than 40 hours you quickly realize there's only a few actually viable builds (which they keep nerfing), which require specific itemization (which they keep nerfing and have terrible drop rates), which often have a requirement of a specific one or two abilities just because the class can't be reasonably played without them (which often forces players into a singular or "two options" type build for each class); looks like you have options, until you realize you don't.

    Items are often not even worth picking up to check. I can understand dropping lots of loot in a loot game - but it's impossible to enjoy looting even in a looter when nearly everything you find (999 of 1000, literally after level 50) is guaranteed to be completely useless for you and just clog up an inventory system that's already extremely limited. The other 1 you probably didn't pick up, and if not also just wasted 2 hours running back to town to sell (because after the first 30 or so hours there's no point in deconstruction). lose-lose.

    Constant lag issues + server drops for random pop-up maintenance means hardcore is 100% impossible for anyone who isn't getting paid to throw hundreds of hours at the game, and affects normal gameplay (non-hardcore) to the point of constant frustration.

    Shoehorned MMO concepts to "promote multiplayer" then providing no benefit outside of extreme exp grinding to actually do so. Feels like an excuse to make it always online which hurts the solo couch gamers and those with poor internet connections. ((multiplayer exp was further nerfed; multiplayer is just a hindrance now)).

    Even the updates don't make sense. it was already shown that average casual players would never reach level 100, many aren't even making it to 50. The response? tune the experience down and further nerf literally everything that made all the builds reasonable to play. Nothing but further slowing down progression and game pacing, while at the same time making everyone weaker (actually weaker, not just feeling weaker) regardless of what class or build they may be using.

    It's better than some games... so i'll give it a 2 but I really must say I have trouble believing the "good" reviews made in the last 3 weeks are anything but bots or multi-accounts for score bumping. maybe fanbois. Either way research before buying - this is not the previous Diablo titles. ((not anymore. just avoid it. Barbie Horse Adventure has more action))

    seems to be badly managed. nerfing classes into the ground without any clear reason. badly designed class items. apparent need to redo hours of pointless gofer quests every time you make an alt(every season?). I was joking with my room mate that the devs were probably shorting blizzard stock +D.

    The nerfs to cooldown reduction, experience gained, and adding the chance for admittedly broken stats (resistances) to roll on more gear types are egregious and transparent attempts to slow down player progression with no justification in terms of what it adds to the player experience.

    The game has the potential to be very good, and has a very high potential ceiling as far as score goes. However, until the developers actually begin to listen to player feedback, the low score is deserved. 2/10    … Expand

    If you like to build different characters and grinding for gears to max a char, this game is not for you. There is literally 4 stash tabs and you cannot store **** for other chars. Lazy development...

Previously Diablo games had end game activities to keep us logging on and playing. This game has nothing going for it at end game. I've seen people calling it Vendor Simulator 4 and this makes a lot ofI made this account just to give Diablo 4 an honest review so hopefully others avoid the same mistake of purchasing. Early on the game seems decent, but it progressively gets more boring. Previously Diablo games had end game activities to keep us logging on and playing. This game has nothing going for it at end game. I've seen people calling it Vendor Simulator 4 and this makes a lot of sense. You spend more time running between monsters, reviewing your loot and vendoring it than actually fighting monsters. The game is also live service and Blizzard recently ignored 142 exploiters who basically cheated the game to get uber uniques. Their response was extremely disappointing. It was along the lines of "we know who cheated and how many, but this time there will be no punishment, perhaps next time we'll do something if it happened again". As of right now i got 12 uniques 6 of them are hunter's zenith, 3 Frostburn, 2 Mother's Embrace, 1 ‍Insatiable Fury all of those items except one i could use so i switched build because i got one of the items needed. I did 80 Nightmare Dungeons Tier 24,25,26 and i didnt get one of the needed uniques.… Expand

    To top it all off, my favorite class, Sorcerer, has been very weak since the game released, but was hit by huge nerfs on top of already being bad with patch 1.1 (which was full of other bad changes). If I knew they would basically rug pull the game after the server slam, I wouldn't have gotten the game. I still have some hope that they will fix a lot of the issues in the future, but this rating must reflect the current state of the game. I would wait for future patches before playing this game.

    I'm a medical student supporting 9 wives and 2 kids on a Walmart salary.
    Time to myself is especially hard to come by so this latest patch was the biggest setback in my entire life. It genuinely feels like every second I invested in my sorcerer build was a complete and utter waste.

    Activision Blizzard can lick the cheese off my nuts. I'll never buy one of their games until next year.

    What's the point of playing this game? There's no sense of progression. Everything scales to your level which means your combat feels pretty much the same through out the entire story which seems to be how they've added the MMO elements to allow people to play with other people.

Forced online only is just...it's inconceivable that a collection of people could be so short sighted and ignorant to the experience that their player base actually wants. This is even worse when you take into consideration how little you actually interact with other players.

    Outside of general performance and server issues, the gameplay isn't particularly enjoyable any time you come across "difficult" content. At various points in the game, DIablo displays the ability to have bosses impose a real challenge against players without spamming them with constant, unending, hard CC status effects. The game is capable of providing that challenge with BOSSES. Regular elites and higher level non-boss enemies though? Prepare to spend all of your time frozen, stunned, and more while staring blankly at your screen waiting for your turn to play the game that you paid top dollar for. I promise that it isn't an exaggeration that one single elite enemy will have 3 of 4 CC abilities that will make you spend more time fighting them while being frozen than you will fighting any boss in the game.

    If you want to buy a 70+ dollar game to enjoy a campaign, watch some admittedly fantastic cutscenes, and occasionally go around beating up mobs in open world, this is worth the buy. If your expectations go beyond that? If you want to enjoy an actual end game where you don't have to be able to one shot every single elite before they can stun you into oblivion? If you want even somewhat meaningful rewards for a literal hour of grinding end game content? Yea, you're out of luck with this one. Keep your eyes out for a new title, and please let me know if you find one.

    Devs made a good campaign to reel you in. You get hooked for awhile but then you start to realize you're doing the same thing over and over.

    Eventually you'll skip events, leave/sell countless worthless items, and die to something you either don't see/make a single mistake.

    Devs are purposely sabotaging their own game now, to get more customers later when they fix the game.

    This game was decent through the campaign, but as someone who has put in probably over 15,000 hours in Diablo 2 and done everything so many times, I just couldn't be bothered to think about starting a second character. Absolutely nothing interested me in it. The items are boring, picking up loot is a waste of time, the stats are horrible and confusing.

    On a side note, when I was playing the campaign I knew that as soon as I approached a closed door it would be "blah blah blah, we'll have to find another way around!" How engaging and interesting! The same thing happened in Diablo 3. I wish I knew how many times they did that as part of the story line, but I was laughing by the end of it. I do think the graphics are good, but sorely regret buying this game, the replay value currently is zero.    … Expand

    The game is unfortunately a failure in my eyes... after the patch they wanted to make it up to you but they took my fancy to it like a bomb Baldure's Gate 3 came into the arena which won my heart Greetings to Larian Studios !

    I was really looking forward to Diablo IV, naturally I preordered the 100€ version. And what did I get? Somewhat decent graphics, somewhat decent optimization, a huge open world (which is not necessarily positive, if devs don't know how to make it alive), some cosmetic items and a couple of days of early access, which is ridiculous anyway imo. And that is about it for what I got on the positive side.

    Of course, greedy Blizzard was a LOT more generous on the negative side. What did I get there, you ask? Well, I got: in-game cosmetics shop, with OUTRAGEOUS prices, like 25€ for armor skin. Seriously, Blizzard??!!?? And 15€ for a horse skin? Really? Horse not included, btw. Lol. Really? One extra line of code too much for 15€ of hard earned real cash? I'm going to stop with the shop now for my own good, because I feel my blood pressure rising.

    What else did I get? I didn't get to play a demon hunter for whatever reason. Ok, that's fine. I got balancing of classes after first few days of gameplay in a single player game, because we cannot allow any fun, naturally; I got always online in a single player supposed-to-be immersive game. I don't know about you, but it is kind of immersion breaking for me when SirButtsalot passes me in the game world. I also got a bunch of abilities in my skill tree, which are just there for the sake of number. Thea are useless. In fact, if you want to do respectable damage and survive, you are pretty much stuck with a couple of builds. An that's it.

    I also got a tiny inventory, not even close enough for everything, also because reasons. Probably they will try and sell me more spaces for 40€ in their shop.

    I also go no endgame. None. A few repetitive dungeons, gear that does not make me stronger, but rather weaker, because enemies are level scaling to me, making me effectively weaker with every hard grinded level.

    I will stop here, but trust me, I could go on. For example: why mounts in a dungeon crawler? Why open world in a dungeon crawler? Why no variety of dungeons in a dungeon crawler? Why no attractive loot in a dungeon crawler? Why no Diablo in a Diablo game? Anyway, I'm out. Don't buy! Do NOT buy! Do not give them the satisfaction!    … Expand

As a sorc: Teleport in, cast frostnova, kill at least one enemy to create a chain reaction which clears the screen (and further as long as there are enemies which freeze other enemies when they cast a frostnova on dying). Then wait a few seconds because of cooldowns on teleport and frostnova and then repeat and so on. Damn is that annoying. And I knew that Blizzard will mess up, but honestly, the fights? Really? Didn't expect that. Whirlwind as Barb is really ridiculous. The sound it makes when hitting enemies, lol. No real feeling of controlling pure might as in D3. There the barb felt like a force of nature and everything felt like hitting so hard, that the ground shakes boom boom boom but D4 barb is like a toddler slaming his squeaking toy hammer on a pillow.… Expand

    They keep nerfing builds and dungeons and it feels like the only goal is to take the fun away from everything that ends up being useful or efficient. The walls in the world that force you to dismount is simply ridiculous and the mouse system should simply not exist. Nightmare dungeons are    D4 has a lot of potential, But Blizzard is just doing everything wrong since launch.

    Nightmare dungeons are underwhelming because EXP and loot is just a waste of time.

    The stash does not work, not enough space, no GEM pouch, no ASPECT pouch, no character stash, no filter, no search tool and no sorting feature.

    The viable builds are very limited since everything gets nerfed continuously.

    The loot system is not great and with no stash space its even worst, and drop rate is not rewarding for doing harder content.

    The scaling should stop at some point because you're just chasing a carrot on a stick all the time.

    Respecing is the WORST, there is no refund on paragon points ( you have to manually refund each point all the way back to the beginning ) there should be a build tab where you can keep your builds and switch because otherwise respecing is a tedious task almost like you should only play your character with one build in mind and that's it, keeping all the gear and and aspects needed for a respec is annoying, and with limited stash space its just worst.

    the game could be very fun but they want to focus on making you grind for hours to achieve stuff than to make you have fun for hours because you enjoy playing.

    Nerfing every dungeon and farm spot is not a way to make players go aaah well gotta play the game longer now its just a way to make players feel frustrated and know that now they must waste a lot more time to get the same goal they were already working on.

    Blizzard could do way better but I think they don't even play their own game and don't care about the majority casual players they just want the hard fans to stay in line and not "beat" the game too fast .    … Expand

    Graphics are good, performance is excellent. Audio design is good. Music is completely forgettable.
    Gameplay "feel" is great. It's an excellent foundation to build an ARPG on. Shame they didn't. Unimpactful itemization, no feeling of progress, no variety, constant backtracking, lack of mob density, empty spaces in dungeons.    Campaign is all right. Nothing special, but pretty good.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
