    Fun for as long as the campaign lasted, end game is atrocious, gear progression atrocious, dungeons stale, and build variety lacking. You'd think with all their time on a series they'd figure out a few things. Just go play Path. You will find its a little harder to grasp at entry, but pays off sooooo big at endgame.

    As a Diablo veteran I wanted to love D4, but in its current state I would actively discourage anyone from buying it. I gave the game a solid go; Levelled a character to 100, and grinded the end game, before coming to the ultimate conclusion that is shallow, boring and riddled with problems. Given another year of development and playtesting D4 could be a good game, but releasing it in it'sAs a Diablo veteran I wanted to love D4, but in its current state I would actively discourage anyone from buying it.     Pure scam game, the designer doesn't even play games. The entire "thousand-person" project team should bow to the artist! Apart from the art design, everything else is just excuses:
    1. The plot is weak, and the logic is nonsensical.
    2. The late game is boring, just grinding in nightmare dungeons, hmm.
    3. All sorts of balance claims to let players enjoy the game, but you nerf anything that makes players happy. Secretly altering equipment affix priorities, polluting the affix pool with junk affixes – I spent billions of gold coins refining four rings and didn't even get a decent roll!
    4. Bugs are everywhere, and you're taking forever to fix them.
    5. Dozens of gems are holding up the trashy first season. There's no fun, if you're having trouble sleeping, play Diablo 4; it'll put you to sleep for sure.
    6. Arrogant attitude. When players pointed out that the dungeon designer doesn't even know how to play Diablo, you swiftly closed the comments at the speed of light. In the face of numerous suggestions and criticisms, all you do is host campfire livestreams, making empty promises without ever making real changes!

    before season 1 everything is okay, it's fun to play but when season 1 begin evething falls apart. blizzard can't even keep the server stable, lag and disconnect everytime i play. characters became unbalanced in season 1. It's not a bad game but blizzard destroys their masterpiece.

    The only good thing about this game is combat feel and non Black/white character as Lilith.

    All good hack n slash fundamentals have been thrown away for the sake of cashgrabbing techniques. Have fun being beta testers with annual paid dlcs.

    I've played the Diablo franchise since its inception, and this version is, by far, the most boring and lackluster experience of them all.

    Now that i have shared my summary of the review, I'll add a few more details to my opinion. PROs - 1. Graphics are pretty and the open world concept is to be applauded. I really enjoyed being able to move across the world, as it is large. 2. The    I've played the Diablo franchise since its inception, and this version is, by far, the most boring and lackluster experience of them all.

    Now that i have shared my summary of the review, I'll add a few more details to my opinion.

    PROs -
    1. Graphics are pretty and the open world concept is to be applauded. I really enjoyed being able to move across the world, as it is large.
    2. The campaign was one of the better in the series and I actually enjoyed playing through it. It was very easy, but enjoyable.

    CONS -
    1. This is a live service game, meaning it requires a constant internet connection, and you are at the mercy of Blizzard having the servers operational. They control the game and any changes, and you are just a player in their world.
    2. Combat is beyond boring, and loot is as well. Plenty of comments have been made about these two aspects so I'd recommend you read up on them as well for a more detailed analysis.
    3. After you beat the campaign, the real part of the game begins, and this is where it fails miserably. To summarize why it is fails. When you beat the campaign at level 50 or so, there is no reason to level further. Loot and power stays relatively the same from level 50 to 100. The game does introduce "paragon" points to help give the player some semblance of power increase, but the game also increases the power of the monsters you fight, making it a pretty similar power creep between the two. With the latest patch 1.1, the developers felt it was necessary to decrease this power creep for you, so it actually becomes harder and more of a slog to kill and enjoy the leveling process.

    As the game stands now, it is in terrible shape. Avoid until Blizzard figures out how to make this game actually fun from level 50 to 100. The game is enjoyable for the campaign only, but not for the asking price of $69.99    … Expand

In all honesty, this is my first Diablo game and enjoyed the first 40 hours with my friends, but realized I wasn't getting anything back for my time. The legendaries and good loot wouldn't be enough for me (Sorcerer) to be viable in the ene game content compared to other classes. When you've done all the statues and main story, things fall off after level 70 because you're left with nothing new to do. Tree of Whispers becomes repetitive, world bosses don't spawn enough, helltides are now bugged. You're left grasping for straws trying to get a unique in hopes it will being back the dopamine of fun you had in the beginning.… Expand

    I feel bad for those who designed the graphics and gameplay cause they did a great job.
    But those who decide everything else, it is so bad. All releated to menus, items, is atrocious. But what i hate more is the Stash, it is so limited i cannot play the game anymore cause i have no space to keep my loot.

We are getting no QoL features, social features, interesting endgame/content, we are getting exp nerfs, helltide nerfs, damage nerfs, survivability nerfs, and class nerfs, plus i'm probably forgetting something. I would've easily recommended thisI have to say that I really enjoyed my time with this game and got my money's worth, but the direction this game is going in is strictly worse.     For an APPG the combat is repetitive, buildcrafting is limited and the gameplay boring and lacks any real sense of power fantasy.     The UI is a complete step backwards from Diablo 3. In game customisation and reforging is so expensive, you can spend your entire worth and still not get an affix you want. Unlike Diablo 3, the game doesn't tell you possible affixes you can re-roll.

    Diablo 2 and 3 has set items to seek out, with unique bonuses when you matched sets. Diablo 4 doesn't have that. God knows why? Maybe to keep as a carrot dangling for the future to keep people playing.

    Speaking of that. The game seems to have been designed to keep Daily Average Users. They have nerfed major sources of EXP that players found. They nerfed exp gain in general. They just nerfed all major classes in the game and reduced the power of all of the meta builds. They have held off adding set items. Why? Why nerf player power and progression, unless you wanted to slow it all down in order to keep people playing longer.

    Well the opposite has happened. We see this skinner box for what it is. It is a shallow version of the two better prequels. At least in Reaper of Souls, the Diablo team back then leaned into giving players a sense of power fantasy and let us have fun with crazy, powerfui builds. It was fun.

    And as if to twist the knife, the game's pace has been further slowed down, the battles are now longer and more tedious, the experience gain has been reduced to a crawl, and we are confined to lower world tiers as if being punished for wanting more from the game we paid for.

    Blizzard's obsession with creating an imbalanced balance in a single-player PVE game is not just misguided but completely out of touch with what makes a game enjoyable. Their energies and resources, we, the players, feel, would have been much better spent on introducing engaging and immersive content.

    But as it stands, Diablo IV feels like a grand potential squandered, a beautiful idea ruined by apathy, and a monumental disappointment. The current state of the game is nothing short of a glaring testament to how not to treat a player base. It is an affront to every player who parted with their hard-earned money in the hope of an immersive and exciting gaming experience.

    I am not just disappointed but infuriated by the blatant disrespect this shows towards the community. The utter disregard for the players' feedback, the brazen indifference to the game's glaring flaws, and the audacious release of such a destructive patch has left me, and I am sure many others, absolutely livid.     Not since the NGE in Star Wars: Galaxies has a single patch so thoroughly ruined a gane. D4 wasn't good before this patch, and it's *terrible* after the patch. This team has no idea what they're doing. It might be years before D4 is in a playable state.

With how barebones everything else is including non-existent social features, major problems with hit detection on instant death abilities, and that their first major patch was just completely tone deaf, I don't have much hope for the long-term prospects of this game.

Mob density is low relative to other games. Only a few viable builds for late game play. Given two point though, because at least, at time of this writing, there is no pay to win/loot box options. End game gets boring long before you've reached level cap. D2 stands head and shoulders above d4 with regard to item variation, crafting and customisation. Set items don't exist - and just incase you were struggling to stay motivated after discovering every single unique you find is simply crap - you've already found them all long before you even reach level 60 because the lootpool is what you would expect from a game produced for the Magnavox Odyssey.
    Still, I was looking forward to playing the season, mostly because i felt i was still owed something after paying £60 and getting something half cooked. So then comes patch day - and i'm reading the patch notes - i sort of glazed over. It felt like my brain was slowly falling away like a wet cake. Nothing new, or exciting. No much needed, glaringly obvious class adjustments. No inventory changes. No essential endgame goals - nothing whatsoever to keep you hungry. No changes to the excruciatingly droll dungeon mechanics - one shots, bombs, stormbane, etc but we did get an increased lootpool... but its in single digits. Ultimately - it was a flat, 30 - 40% net stat reduction. Builds that were interesting, fun to play and usually crafted over long hours now lay completely broken due to the CDR% shrink.
    The patch was cobbled together on the back of a **** packet as a lazy attempt at artificially extending its shelf-life by decreasing the power of the player - without any regard for its outcome, without providing any alternative and without any consideration for how it would impact what is essentially the beating heart of any ARPG - your talents/skills and build. A truly underwhelming and frankly despairing effort. I'm relieved i won't be returning. 1/10    … Expand

    DO NOT PURCHASE THE GAME. ONLY GREAT REGRET AWAITS.
    They weakened everything to push people to playing longer is just plain lazy content making.
    Make good contents to make people stay playing the game.
    People will always feel the rush when new contents come.
    Effort has been tripled, rewards are still the same- trash.
    The entire hype went down the drain when patch 1.1.0.4 came.

    Whoever makes the decisions at blizzard about diablo 4 should lose the job.
    The game gets worse every week with every "hotfix" and every patch.

    If you want a fun ARPG dont even bother buying diablo 4.

    Arpg with slow gameplay, flat and boring loot system, slowed by devs on every step to create illusion that game has any content. Sad violin played on nostalgia. Run away and never come back to d4. Every patch is out of touch.

    Devs actively working to destroy their own game. They aren't game developers but rather social media warriors. They are in over their heads for sure.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
