    Was playing as a Sorcerer, the most under powered class by a long shot. Was looking forward to how this class would be buffed in patch 1.1 to bring it more in line with the other classes. Instead, Blizzard decided to gut all the other classes, and then on top of that, nerf Sorc again. The devs are so tone def, its astounding.

    an unfinished game, the devs patch decisions must be supported by their internal metrics but they seem at odds with the player base which has turned toxic, best avoided until they manage to get it fixed

    Dude, i literally proposed to a whole woman who used her vacation days to play Diablo 4 at Launch Day and now the devs dragged the game we waited 11 years for through the mud. Great.

    They really managed to kill a game. Take your time and money elsewhere. This game has literally no social aspect to it. It's slow paced and the loot is horrible. Not worth the money at all

    This game before yesterday patch 1.1 was okish, I would say 6/10 (for semi-Hardcore players), for casuals 9/10. After patch, game its unplayable for 2 of 4 characters in game, Blizzard nerfed everything in game that was fun to the ground... Less exp, less dmg, less defense.     Devs literally have no idea what they are doing and the worst part they think they are doing a great job and will try to convince us that we are wrong remember this the devs of d4 are inexperienced and incompetent with arpgs.

    Man! This game is killing itself with those patches especially the 1.1 version. Imagine rewarding your players with more hardships and not giving any QOL fixes.

    Inventory management is horrendous with not enough slots to make it through a single dungeon run without having to portal back to town. Gems could consume nearly 50% of your inventory and would take up as much space as a 2h weapon.

    The endgame is so boring with lack of content and lack of any activity that makes you feel like it's an enjoyable experience, and the itemization leaves you feeling like you are just wasting time. The world tier system was a good addition, but then they put artificial levels on when you could jump up to the next tier while simultaneously slowing down the leveling system making it even more slow and boring.
    You are literally expected to run the same boring content over and over without any expectation of rewarding loot that is anything but marginally better at best. Even the higher skilled players are forced to grind an abundance of low challenge content ad nauseum just to check a level box to get back to more challenging content.
    The developers have gone out of their way to suck what limited fun was in the game while introducing the new season just to have everyone have to start back over from scratch for a more painful and less fulfilling experience. I highly recommend people sit this game out if you haven't purchased it yet until the developers start playing their own game to see how awful it is and start making real quality of life improvements. It is all but unplayable in its current form unless you enjoy repetitive game play that is a huge step back from Diablo 3.    … Expand

    What a pile of **** Worst gaming xp I have had in years playing as a mage/sorcerer. High risk/low rewards. Nerfs nerfs nerfs. I play action rpg to feel a power trip, but all I feel is a dumb piece of **** for spending $70 on garbage.

    Blizzard decided to kill of every single build in the game just days before the start of the first season.

    Blizzards devs seems to love to shoot themselves in the foot. They seems to have no clue what so ever why players like me have deleted all their eternal realm characters and uninstalled the game after the patch notes where released. So i give it a rundown.     Its not fun to see multiple offensive options reduced in power by 40% or more while getting nothing in return.

    Its not fun to see survivability reduced across the board without any thing to make up for it.

    Utterly patetic lines in the patch notes like increased the time it takes to leave a dungeon from 3 to 5 seconds.

    Really show how utterly incompetent the diablo 4 devs are when it comes to figuring out what players find fun and enjoyable in the game.

    I have played the diablo series since diablo 1 and i cant recall ever seeing a worst patch released for a game ever in my life.

    I am glad genuinly good games like grim dawn still exists in the genre.

    I for one has no hope that blizzard will even underatand what a **** they created until several years down the road.

    At that time with games like PoE 2 and BG3 having already been released i am not even sure its worth my time as a gamer to even give the game a second look.

    I would suggest anyone looking into arpgs to avoid diablo 4 for the moment until at least 5 or more seasons have passed.

    Diablo 3 has always been the ugly duckling when it comes to the diablo series but even that game has diablo 4 beat by leaps and bounds nowadays.

    For those that are new to arpgs i would suggest last epok, grim dawn and later when you want more meat on the bones PoE for your arpg needs.

    At the moment diablo 4 after the patch is not even a better arpg the wolcen and that is obe of the lowest bars to reach in gaming history.    … Expand

    Damage was nerfed significantly. Survival was nerfed significantly. XP was nerfed significantly. Cool down reduction was nerfed significantly. Especially male sorcerer who is forced to wear dresses. The gear was bland an uninteresting. After level 25 gear which I upgraded to 40 I never tried anything new because there was nothing unique or strong enough to replace them. TheBlizzard hates its players. The most unique items are so rare 99.99999% of players will never see them. Sorc skills were dependant on one skill so every sorc had to run frost nova to inflict vulnerable. That skill just got nerfed by 40% in the most recent patch making sorc utterly useless. Every action taken by the dev is a giant middle finger to the community. Then there’s the writing. It’s absolutely terrible and full of plot holes. For example, one of the strongest NPC’s who defeated a high level demon wanders off at a completely inappropriate time and gets caught on a pillar and he dies. It’s so dumb. The characters are stupid to the point of wilful neglect by the writers. There’s nothing relatable about any of them. The whole game is a giant cat and mouse chase. It’s just irritating and has no redeeming features.

    I could discuss so much more of how awful and poorly written this game is but I don’t want to waste any more time on it. They took the best of Diablo 2 and 3 and destroyed it. What a waste of £60. Will never buy from blizzard again. You have been warned!    … Expand

    They haven't learned anything for the past 20+ years. Zero QOL from D3 made it to D4. You can run faster than your mount. They patch anything fun or op overnight but take a month to patch game breaking bugs. I won't be playing anymore.

    Season patch notes were probably the worst I have ever seen come out for a video game. Gutted so many core aspects of what the game got us used to but didn't really compensate us and add balance to what they hard nerfed.

Sticking to basic abilities makes us lose our sense of empowerment. Even if you are level 100, even if you build the best, you don't feel like you are getting stronger. I spent thousands of hours playing D2 and hundreds of hours playing D3. Blizzards has really dropped the ball with this game and especially with patch 1.1. I've never played an ARPG game that had less interaction with other players. Without trading and game lobbiesPlayed multiple betas, but not the end game one, and was excited for this game. Blizzards has really dropped the ball with this game and especially with patch 1.1. I've never played an ARPG game that had less interaction with other players. Without trading and game lobbies it's rare I see another player. End Game is so unbelievably boring and so are the items. There isn't a single item I found that I could tell you it's name besides some of the uniques they brought from D2, but made worthless. I did enjoy playing this game for a while, got a rogue to level 77 that could easily do WT4, but have completely lost interest and haven't touched the game in 4 weeks. It really feels like Blizzard has completely lost touch with their player base. I'll be skipping season 1, and the game in general, until they fix this mess they created.… Expand

    The first 50 levels are ok, in which they clearly removed mount access to extend the playtime. From there it gets worse. Itemization, build diversity, and end game all miss the mark. Paragon is a neat design paradigm. Music is good.

    Pretty much ignored what people love or found helpful. Pets? Armory? Inventory space? Forget all of it.

    Simply put, Diablo 4 has failed to meet modern gaming expectations. There are too many issues with this game to say that it released in a true “finished” form.

    The community feedback has been and continues to be incredibly loud; for good reason. The developers stated “we are listening”, yet continue to make gameplay decisions that are starkly opposite of what their players ask for. Simple quality of life changes that should have been implemented at launch, are no where to be found.

    Some quality of life changes that have not been implemented are..
    -reducing the gold cost of respec’ing builds
    -reducing the gold costs of rerolling items (after two rolls, the item reroll cost soars to over a million)
    -adding a gem bag
    -fixing the mounted horse pathing (currently gets stuck on word geometry that it shouldn’t)
    Etc.

    The most recent patch of 1.1, Blizzard destroyed the power fantasy by nerfing every single class in the game. Not one class was spared. This is right after most players were able to get to a point where they felt “kind of powerful”. Players asked for more content to sink their teeth into and instead received a penalty of killing monsters to quickly. Some other nerfs include..

    Leveling now takes 40% longer than it did prior to the patch.

    Weapons and armor have been weakened tremendously there by increasing the time it takes to defeat anything.

    “Good” items are absurdly infrequent.

    The always online experience is horrendous with constant disconnects and game crashes (poor optimization).

    Armor aspects effectiveness have been reduced.

    Damage reduction has been reduced by nearly 50%

    (Not a nerf) elemental resistance still not working

    Overall damage across the board has been reduced by 50% or more depending on the class.

    Overworld content has been gutted dramatically forcing you to do one activity (nightmare dungeons) to progress.

    Helltides shard drop rate nerfed

    Hell tide mystery chest shard requirement dramatically increased.

    That’s just to make a few things… If you check the Season 1 malignant gems, you will find that none of them solve the power fantasy issues they just compounded. The lack of creativity and game awareness of the developers is astounding. An elementary school child could come up with more interesting ideas.

    This for me was the last chance I was going to give blizzard. They seem to be purposefully ignoring their player base and are hell bent on ruining the Diablo franchise. Do yourself a favor and do not spend a single penny on this game. You will most certainly regret it.

    Learn from our mistakes and play something else that you will enjoy. Diablo 4 is a terrible iteration of the franchise and the studio should be ashamed of how they handled this.

    This is the worst iteration of diablo released to date. You finish the story in maybe 12 -20 hrs worth of playtime watching every cutscene and reading all the text.

    Then you are thrown into the open world where there are 4 reskinned dungeons throughout the entire game. The grind from 50-80 is abysmal long and unrewarding. You just feel like a piece of **** doing the same content over    This is the worst iteration of diablo released to date. You finish the story in maybe 12 -20 hrs worth of playtime watching every cutscene and reading all the text.

    Then you are thrown into the open world where there are 4 reskinned dungeons throughout the entire game. The grind from 50-80 is abysmal long and unrewarding. You just feel like a piece of **** doing the same content over and over again for probably 6x the times it look for you to complete the story. You finally make it to lvl 80 and realize there is literally 0 content to do otherthan more efficiently grind the same 4 reskinned dungeons on repeat.

    Itemization is trash. It takes 5 minutes going through your entire inventory just to throw away 99% of the items that you get. Super frustrating just trying to figure out if an item is an upgrade and can't target specific items for specific builds. Also absolutely no trading system so you are stuck on an endless hamster wheel trying to find items for the build you want. When you do finally find the items you want, you realize they didnt even help your build anyways because there are only a handful of viable builds.

    There is absolutely no group content. All content is able to be completely solo and there is no reason to group with others for challenging content nor is there a way to easily group with others.

    It's actually sad d2 was a more polished game. At least d2 had good grouping and trade features. Not only that but when you were done with the games quest, you actually farmed the cool unique bosses in each act to target specific gear. Also d2 had duel games anyone could just for some fun action. How do you find duels in d4? Game is just meant to waste your time and money.     Was a solid 8-9 during the initial beta(s). Then the first release had so many negative QoL and build changes that it went down to a 6. Now, the season 1 patch? straight 0. Kills even more builds. Changes so many fun aspects such as Helltides into more boring grindfests. Devs don't play this game at all.

    Had a ok launch felt the first 50 levels was fun, past the irs a mindless thing for minimal rewards. And with the recent update the game was killed for me. I’m not sure what they was thinking nerfing everything in the game. I bought the 100$ copy so maybe a season next year will make me use my free battle pass. Let’s just hope Microsoft can turn this ship around.

    It really feels like all the passionate gamer nerds that used to make up blizzard have been replaced by corporate drones. So sad to see and experience. A game focused on loot, but extremely limited storage, no custom sorting, no search function, no way to favorite an item in your inventory, no way to refund all paragon points. A game focused on creating and experimenting with OVERPOWERED builds, but no way to easily swap your build or save builds. Bug that lets more people find a unique item? Patched same day…. within hours??

    Bug that causes cinders to drop at like 5% the intended rate, effectively making helltides unplayable? Eh they’ll fix it in the next hot fix. No big deal!

I really liked this game and I figured they’d fix those issues and address some balancing issues like with the Sorc for example. Instead of fixing any real issue they basically ruined this game.     Yes it's a new game just released, there will be areas need improvement. after 1.5 month of hearing players feedback, season 1 patch released, what did they do? they focus on NERF all class, not balance each class, they blanket nerf the class. result? those strong class became average, those weak class got even weaker to a point not enjoyable, unless you do cookie cutter builds.

    How bad is the patch? remembers dev team acknowledge "Resistance" is broken, which cost player lost a layer of defense, this effect most on the sorcerer class because it's main stats INT are link to the "resistance", so the class is naturally in a defense stats disadvantages, most build had to sacrifice offense skill slot to fit in 3~4 defense skill to make builds efficient.

    Guess what dev team did in Season 1 patch, they remove the armor gems replaced with "Resistance" heart (it new name for gems). LOWER THE BASE ARMOR FOR ALL CLASS. Reduce the CD reduction stats on gear (now the cd are longer).

    How they address the shallow content with season 1 patch? they REDUCE the XP gain from those 3 repeat activity, so now it will take us longer to reach our goal.

    Those are just few example of the disconnect from the dev team. If refund is available, I'll do it in a heart beat.

    BTW, guess what dev team told the player on live stream 3 week after game release, when they were asked about content, "it's ok to stop playing". W.T.F, We paid for the game, and you tell us not to play it? so we don't complain the game's short coming, which is a direct reflection on the dev team?

There have been no meaningful QOL changes that have been desperately needed already, not even but a little over a month after launch. 90% of what the community has asked for has been ignored/communication has been radio silent.     While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
