    Really wish they would offer a refund for this scam game.

    They just keep making the game less enjoyable every patch. Season 1 content is just laughable and then they want battlepass sales. Nah hard pass already uninstalled. Regret purchase.

    Had such high hopes for this game after waiting 10yrs for it. Graphics/cinematics are awesome, but the overall game is a huge let down. i've been with this franchise since Diablo 1, day 1, and honestly have not been more disapointed with a game in my life. No end game content. Somehow even more grindier than earlier Diablo games. And now they want me to have to start a new character forHad such high hopes for this game after waiting 10yrs for it. Graphics/cinematics are awesome, but the overall game is a huge let down. i've been with this franchise since Diablo 1, day 1, and honestly have not been more disapointed with a game in my life. No end game content. Somehow even more grindier than earlier Diablo games.     The only reason to play the game is continuing the Diablo franchise story, which is probably best done by watching a video of someone completing. This is due to the fact that they have side quests that do not align healthily with the story.

    Do not bother waste your money. Patch 1.1.0 took the fun out of the game. I am requesting a refund for the game since I cannot play the game to a previous patch. Doubt I will get my money back. So for you that has not purchased the game. Be warned. DO NOT BUY!

    now in a normal situation developers would try to fix these issues except they ignore the community and instead of fixing the issues they nerfed all classes and made that slow progression even slower

    Extremely limited loots for a looting game is just sad. You farm levels not gear.

    Limited inventory space and storage just to troll the players.

    No loot filter. No item filter.

    Skip it wait for normal developers or play baldur's gate 3    … Expand

    I mean I originally didn't intend to buy the game but I was given the impression that at least the campaign would be worth it... Oh boy do I regret getting it. But first the good :
    - The gameplay has a good base - The very start and end of the campaign are good Now the bad : - The reste of the campaign is a meaningless blob - The game tries    Here's a huge disappointment for me.

    Now the bad :
    - The reste of the campaign is a meaningless blob
    - The game tries REALLY hard to look complex and deep with weird affixes on items but is actually shallow
    - The open world is just a way to justify chores to impose on the player before they can enjoy "the game"
    - Nothing actually feels really good. That's harsh but here's what I mean :
    With the world and dungeons automatically scaling with your level, reaching a sweet upgrade in your talents makes no difference in the feeling of your fights. The same is true with gear, your get biggers stats but the enemies too. The wolves of the start of the game too, they will always be at your level. What a way to feel your progress !
    Also most of the gear looks ... Too realistic ? There's no fantasy in the gear you find, and they all look like the boring grey boot you found in your first chest.
    The game imposes you a lot of thing you will have to do before accessing the endgame which is SUPPOSED to be the sweet spot. And before you inflict yourself with tense if no hundreds of hours to get there, let me tell you, it's not. It's currently grinding dungeons. Which by the way are bad and boring and make you track back all the time and complete stupid objectives.

    Also there is no actually sweet Legendary equipment. Most new effect is so conditional that they are a best boring and at worst just very bad. Unlike D3 for instance where I was excited to find some uniques because they allowed some sweet unique builds. OH I ALMOST FORGOT. Even if we had sweet unique legendaries, you couldnt do that because after a while the investment in your paragon board is so heavy that it would be easier to build another new character with a new build thant to respect the one you spent hundreds of hours on. I know, that's what we all asked for right ?

    You thought that was bad ? Here's another :
    You thought 70$ for an ... OK-ish game is expensive ? LOL Now you gotta add 10$ for each season if you don't want to be stuck with majorly lackluster rewards on your season. Season which has a very underwhelming new mechanic to boot. That's ... Almost OK in a F2P game but in a 70$ game, WHO ARE THEY KIDDING?!

    Honestly if you want to play a relaxed arpg keep playing Diablo 3, if you like complexity stay on PoE and stop making my mistake and giving a chance to Blizzard, they are the worst.    … Expand

    Blizzard still hasn't fixed that the Necromancer minion builds are garbage. Anything other than whirlwind for Barbarian is garbage. The latest patch makes sure you get one shot by the charging fat dudes off screen. This game is not in a good state for grinding a proper endgame, which defeats the whole purpose of games like this.     The game came out in a very bad state, beyond level 80 it felt like a chore, very minimal gear updates could be found, there was no unique target farm, bag space is very limiting with only 4 stash tabs, It feels like an incomplete game, feels pretty rushed and now with the latest 1.1.0 patch they are basically slowing down an already slow game, the nightmare dungeon mob density is a joke,The game came out in a very bad state, beyond level 80 it felt like a chore, very minimal gear updates could be found, there was no unique target farm, bag space is very limiting with only 4 stash tabs, It feels like an incomplete game, feels pretty rushed and now with the latest 1.1.0 patch they are basically slowing down an already slow game, the nightmare dungeon mob density is a joke, they went ahead and killed 2 of the classes without providing any alternative builds that can be played and introduced atrocious new uniques, like what is that sorc one supposed to be? its not even gonna be usable, do better.… Expand

    Fan since Diablo I, can't believe how worse and worse and worse D4 has been getting with each patch. Was already a long grind to 100 pre-patch, was able to do NM47 on WW 93 Barb, after latest patch I had a hell of a time even doing NM36.

    Making XP grind worse to push to 100. Now with Season One out, the time sinks they keep making to this game is just getting on my nerves, full map    Fan since Diablo I, can't believe how worse and worse and worse D4 has been getting with each patch. Was already a long grind to 100 pre-patch, was able to do NM47 on WW 93 Barb, after latest patch I had a hell of a time even doing NM36.

    So now new toon has to use this day-one to do janky feeling mount to run around? Frustrating is a perfect description for this game to play as of today, I can't ever remember feeling D3 as slow lvl paced empty areas with not many mobs boating to play.     it was mostly ok pre season 1 because we were patiently waiting and trying things before the seasons ( level 50 to 100 was still a chore doing the same Nightmare dungeons over and over ).
    But now , the seasonal quest is like over in a couple of hours , letting us only with the new malignent gem system , a big nerf on the said OP builds , and as i progressed as level 40 , in unlocked the xp bonus ...... 3% ....... seriously ????????
    We're in 2023 , we have lots of other games to play , we need to xp faster and to have FUN while doing it.
    The game is not for casuals except if you rely on maxroll OP builds , but then they changed the meta again? i wish all builds would be viable as long as you spent your points and gear smartly but that's not the case ..... u have to go OP build and for that u have to grind for god rolls and uniques, and that wouldn't be that bad coz it is a diablo game but the gear is only good when level 100 ( i mean 725+ ) so why make it such a boring chore to get there.
    helltides and world bosses also drop nothing good, rarely cosmetics , and almost never a good legendary or unique, they die in seconds in T4 when Uber Lilith one shot you at level 100 with a good twisting blade poison build......

    diablo 2 is an old game , and diablo 3 was actually fun after a bad start. But this at the moment .... they are more interested by microtransactions ( they just made new loading screen where you can see only your character ... i can see only one reason for that when they don't adress content issues or ultra slow leveling ).

    However, once you get past the aesthetics, Blizzard drastically missed the mark on itemization, end game content and progression, boring dungeon backtracking, no loot filter, no searching inventory, punishing build exploration, not having multiple viable builds per class, annoying quests that have dialog you cant skip, tedious explode on death mechanics (3 times?!), level scaling in all content, almost no social features, no trading even with people in your party, and so much more. And originally they were moving towards a 3rd person Diablo vs top down...

    Despite all that, I was holding out hope for Season 1 since they seemed open to criticism, but not only did they do minimum effort by blanket tweaking existing item stats and skills, they did so in a way that was full nerf (minus the new socket gems). The worst part, is so many issues were already addressed in some form in Blizzard's own games (searching stash or Kanai's cube in D3, runewords in D2, etc), but that knowledge was not leveraged. This is an EA's Anthem-like example of the project having terrible direction at the high level... and I am sure issues were brought up by devs and ignored or pushed to the backlog.

    As a game dev and long time Diablo player, I will be skipping this Season, and doubt they will have any substantial updates until maybe Season 4. See you in a year.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First and foremost, I am a casual gamer. I was not supposed to buy this game but bought it anyway because of how much I enjoyed D3 playing wizard/sorcerer.

    I played sorcerer for the campaign and toughed it out using a frost nova hydra build because it was the most suitable with my playstyle. Battles were usually long and arduous. Later on it became a task. I am mainly a solo player and only encounter other players during world events. That's when I see players 10 levels lower than my sorc from other classes dealing more damage.

    I don't usually look at the numbers (unlike the plyers at reddit which is cool) but the disparity between classes was in plain sight. I thought maybe the sorc will be stronger at 100 but happened upon a 100 sorc in a legion event. Both of us tried to take down a structure but it took painfully long until a druid "TOUCHED" it and took us out of our misery. Honestly it was demoralizing since the druid was lvl 77, I was at 86.

    Basically, a 80+ and a 100 lvl sorc combined, is weaker than a 77 druid. I retired my sorc that night. I would have uninstalled the game but I paid 150+ for this and I have not gotten my money's worth. If I can't get it from the fun aspect, I might as well get it from playtime.

    Created a rogue for season 1 and battles are finally looking up. But...

    Season 1 is underwhelming and frustrating. New dungeon mechanics make it hard to complete for malignant hearts but require a malignant invoker that is not even a guaranteed drop in the same dungeon. Am I supposed to run around dungeons for a "chance" to complete it because that, to me, sound like a scam and a good way to tell me to cut my losses and just uninstall.

    I expected a fun game and a little challenge. I guess Blizzard wanted to build a challenging game more than a fun one so now we get a patch that makes things more difficult, in the process lessening the fun aspect. The game has become more and more uninteresting.

    The only saving grace I have is I share the account with my partner and did not pay twice for a bad game.    … Expand

    The execution, however, was extremely rough and much worse compared to previous competitions. It seemed as though they threw away everything they learned from "Diablo 3" and decided to repeat the same mistakes.
    They adopted the disliked RNG (Random Number Generator) type from D3 and amplified it tenfold.

Even with the frame rate drops I would have been willing to continue playing the game and even buy the battle pass just for the aesthetic bonuses, but now given the blatant greed on display I will be moving on. I understand the need to fix game breaking builds like the druids ability to do a billion point hit, but the nerfs they introduced have broken legitimate builds that were fun to play.     Dodatkowo podczas otwarcia sezonu, serwery nie wyrabiały wiec nie można było grać. Dodatkowo gra się wysypuje podczas grania. Gra serii AAA ale działa jak jakiś early access. Błędy w przeliczaniu skili i całe strony poprawek błędów. Ogólnie straszna lipa.

    Assuming you're able to log into this always-online wonderland, until level 70 or so the game is great, it returns to the gothic horror of earlier Diablos rather than the Saturday morning superhero cartoon of Diablo 3. The story and quests are interesting and contains subtlety that has eluded Blizzard for at least a decade.

    However you'll spend the majority of your time in an endgame designed by people who are surprised that players don't like being chain-CC'd, oneshot from offscreen, or playing around on-death effects. For a company that helped create the ARPG genre and should have decades of institutional knowledge, not to mention years of iteration on the Diablo 3 endgame, this instalment appears to be created from scratch by amateurs who think that their 1997-era bad ideas are the most profound thing ever. Combined with Blactivision's unquencheable thirst for goodwill-destroying cash-grabs, your experience after finishing the story will truly be an eternal grinding hell of random deaths and worthless loot.

    World bosses are interesting until you hit world tier 3, after which they literally die in 5 seconds. The damage formula has obvious issues around stacking and build-warping and bucket accessibility, but Blizzard's galaxybrains couldn't figure that out during years of development, and need to be scolded by paying customers to understand. Seasons are an obvious content recycling scheme that would be less distasteful if they actually added significant changes, but it's a tiny questline and some legendary gems from Diablo 3. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the casual and hardcore players left before Season 2 to play a better game, really anything else.    … Expand

I hope Blizzard will read some critics of their fans and will fix the issues. The list could go on, but i thing i have mentioned quite a lot of things which bothers me.     Failure and misstep after failure and misstep. Game looks great on the surface but after spending even just an hour with it you realize there just isn't anything there. No meaningful gameplay loop, no meaningful loot chase, no variation in maps literally nothing that makes an arpg an arpg. This was a flashy show for investors and media hype but there just isn't a game worth playing here.

    This game is trash. Maybe they improve it over time, but I imagine the only thing they will improve on is further monetization. PoE is better in every level. You could buy a 5 dollar game from a small developer that has more depth. The only great thing about this game are the pathetic few cinematics. I generously give it a two, because it is functional...ish.

    The seasonal aspect would seem to be a means to address some of the replay issues. But it requires a substantial time commitment and dedication over a 3-month period that is not realistic, especially given much of the play will be repetitive story elements and tedious grinding. Given the wealth of other games out there to explore, this just isn't worth the time, especially for anyone with other time commitments.

    I think it is an enjoyable game, but for many gamers it is currently a 1-playthrough-and-done with a substantial risk that their character build is destroyed mid-story in a way that isn't going to happen in many other games.     Game full of game breaking bugs. They break economy, class balances and every aspect of game. This incompetence of developers is absurd. They probably don't have any Q&A team. There are 3 out of 5 playable characters, gem which bugs all damage from everyone in radius which also throws any damage balance out of window. Also there was bug for infinity gold loop, so economy is dead. And I'mGame full of game breaking bugs. They break economy, class balances and every aspect of game.     Game deserved a 1 or 2/10 for having MTX and being a live service game. Simple as. It’s also poorly replicated the Diablo tone in lore and story, and ultimately is boring and unfulfilling. Everything about the game is designed to get you to buy MTX.

    I enjoy playing D1, D2... I dislike D3.... I was going to skip D4 but after I tried D4 beta, I general felt the fun with my friend. That makes me purchase a NV card and get the D4.

    I don't have much time to play, only a couple of hours every others day and some weekends. I have the fun similar to what I had in beta. Of course, with very little time I invested in the game, I level very    I enjoy playing D1, D2... I dislike D3.... I was going to skip D4 but after I tried D4 beta, I general felt the fun with my friend. That makes me purchase a NV card and get the D4.

It seems all you have to do are dungeons.... But I have tons of side quests not finished yet and walking around the map killing "causal" monster seems doesn't matter anymore.

    And then the patch 1.1.0.... It seems intentionally trying to ppl like me... making the game from not so fun to become boring and frustrating...    … Expand

This game is the most boring, pointless, remedial gameplay in the franchise. What you will find are 50 million legendaries with meaningless stats and skills that help you out 0% unless you want to spend 3 hours rearranging your entire skill “tree” and paragon point system for the chance that it might feel like you’re doing 1% more damage. However, By far the worst mechanic in D4 and I mean someone should be shot for this, is the parallel enemy leveling system. Want to feel OP like every other RPG at least some point in the game I.e approaching endgame. Well too **** bad, every enemy is going to be 2-3 levels higher than you so go f yourself. Best case scenario….Microsoft buys Blizzard, fires everyone and abandons all Diablo games except D2R servers.… Expand

This is why I love NS beacuse you are not able to waste the money in graphics. Diablo4 is more like Diablo Immortal than classic Diablo.     其中一個我後悔買的遊戲，地城設計讓玩家走路浪費時間，打寶遊戲倉庫只有四頁，騎馬要冷卻，剛上市就修修改改的，一下削弱，一下又改強，沒有後期內容，打完莉莉絲和100層之後就可以刪遊戲了。

    I decided to finish the main campaign before reading reviews and making a conclusion, so here it is.

    Just a note, I only played one class (Was recommended to play through a single class before trying a new one), and my hardware isn't the best, but also not the worst.     The Good:

    - Great Graphics (Also see "Bad" below)
    - Interesting enough Main Story
    - Combat is mostly fun (If you get your abilities juuuuust right. See below).

    The Bad
    - The skill "tree" (more like a linear line) is very simplistic. If you don't pick exactly some meta build, it's going to be a struggle bus all the way, hitting regular mobs with your builder at least 10 times before they drop dead as a druid, is not what I call fun. Being one-shot by a regular mob, as a bear druid, is not fun.

    - The passives on the skill tree don't change your ability in any meaningful way. Mostly just extra stats or "x is now y type damage". (Not like how they could change your ability such as in Diablo 3).

    - If you don't have a beast of a machine, you're going run your graphics on low, and it's going to look really bad. Like really really bad. There is no mid setting. You either have awesome graphics or Diablo II level graphics.

    - No offline mode. Why oh why am I forced to play online?! Multiplayer is great only if I opt into it, with the people I want to.

    - Treasure Goblins.... why even bother. The drop is less impressive than a regular chest.

    - Level scaling undermines any progress you think you make. You've levelled your character all the way to level 50, but somehow still feel like your struggling exactly as much as you did when you started at lvl 1.

    - Leveling is SLOW and unrewarding. Once you hit level 50, it is painfully slow to get to level 100. I hit level 50 around 2/3 through the main quest line and was level 51 when I finished it. This included doing any side quest I could find.

    The Ugly:

    - Game crashed a crazy number of times, sometimes in the middle of a boss battle.

    - Don't even THINK of leaving an area if you're in the middle main campaign quest. I followed a treasure goblin out of an area, lost the item I was carrying, and had to do everything again, including a boss battle.

    - Rubberbanding is real. Running somewhere, oh no you're back to where you were 2 seconds ago.

    - The online store. This is a big one for me. If I'm going to a premium AAA price for a game, to have all the "cool" appearances locked in the online store, that just feels very greedy to me. Additionally, said appearances cost coins, said coins cost really moolah, and at the end of the day, a single appearance can cost you almost as much as the game itself. Lunacy!

    Conclusion

    The game had enough going for it that I wanted to finish by the main campaign, however, it was a struggle all the way, often taking a break every couple of days between rounds. Ultimately, running through big packs and killing hordes of mobs felt frustrating rather than fun. The regular crashes were frustrating, and having the online shop constantly rubbed in your face almost completely detracted from any good this game had. The dark oppressive horror remains, but ultimately the spirit of the game is gone.    … Expand

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
