    I really wanted to like this game, but it felt flat, it felt bland, no passion from the devs, I have played hundreds of hours of Diablo 1, 2 and 3, repeating their campaigns over and over, and never felt bored, Diablo 4 even though felt as part of the game franchise, it lacked a lot of the flame that had all the previous Diablos, it lacked personality and lacked purpose, it felt for theI really wanted to like this game, but it felt flat, it felt bland, no passion from the devs, I have played hundreds of hours of Diablo 1, 2 and 3, repeating their campaigns over and over, and never felt bored, Diablo 4 even though felt as part of the game franchise, it lacked a lot of the flame that had all the previous Diablos, it lacked personality and lacked purpose, it felt for the entire game as a forced experience.
    After I finished the campaign, I felt uninspired and not engaged into continuing playing, there is no reason to keep playing as there was on the previous games, the entire open world felt empty, half of the missions feel absolutely meaningless, the devs not just made me waste 70 dollars, they decided it was a brilliant idea to put inside their full priced 70 dollar game a paid premium shop and a paid premium battle pass, I literally feel like Blizzard is squeezing me for my money and I feel as I got nothing in return, I wish I could had got a refund because it was absolutely NOT worth my money, it was one of the most unsatisfactory and unwelcome game experience since I played Diablo Immortal, another terrible release IP of Blizzard, it is really sad to see what they did to Diablo franchise, it is a no return train to deception to the fan base, and the entire experience feels empty, these are no longer games for the players, Diablo 4 was not made for you nor for Diablo fan base in mind, and Diablo 4 is a fine example of predatory game company degeneracy and its truly insulting to all of us who have been following to this franchise for so long, Diablo 4 for sure was what the Diablo franchise needed to completely prove to their Diablo fanbase that the franchise is dead, what is left behind is a rotten corpse of a game that pretends to be Diablo, but its nothing more than a money grab machine.    … Expand

    blizz devs just have to stop thinking they know anything about video games and just do what players/beta tester tell them to, only way to save that game. Worst loot system i've ever come by, got 1 upgrade from 76 to 100, you just drop thousand of garbage and spend your time looking at it instead of actually playing the game, bad endgame, you spam **** dungeons, way too narrow for an hack'nblizz devs just have to stop thinking they know anything about video games and just do what players/beta tester tell them to, only way to save that game. Class balance is atrocious, only good class pre 1.1 patch was necro, everything else felt super underwhelming above nightmare 70 or on lilith, have to level character to realize numbers are just **** Mount are actually worse than in lost ark, couldn't believe it, you stuck in everything, get bodyblock by mobs, you go backwards nonstop cause of lag/mount not adapted to maps design. Gear is bad, most unique are useless so you end up disappointed when they drop most of the time, uber unique might be the worst idea blizzard ever had (and i've been playing wow for the past 15years, that says something, even titanforge was better), basically a carrot you keep running after but you know you can't reach it, (1drop in 5Milllions hours of gameplay average). If you want to play this game, don't. If you play it already just give it up, only way to force blizzard's hand into making actual decent games,… Expand

    Wait for POE2 if you want a fun ARPG - Blizzard are constantly patching out anything that even remotely resembles fun.

    Insane blanket nerfs for patch 1.1, just in time for Season 1 (which I won't be playing now).

    I'm just waiting for Baldurs Gate 3 release at this point.

    this is a perfect example when siphoning money from the fan base is the main focus and the rest is just a cover up on top of it. The game has lots of bugs and overall experience is nah when you get anywhere after lvl 25... It looks great at first and than you realize how boring this is. it is nothing like the Diablo games we all love to play anymore. Such a shame.

They nerf all XP so it's harder to level so instead of end game they just make it harder to level this is the lazy way out. They nerf all builds so now it's harder to play so all the gear you farmed for hours is literally trash. Now teleporting out of a dungeon is 5 seconds instead of 3 it's like they added time to it. There was a lot of bugs and broken things in the game. Did they fix it ? Hell no they rather nerf everything and they don't even fix the stuff ppl are asking for. The devs need to get their act together. Now no one wants to play hardcore because of the stupid nerfs. This doesn't even feel like a diablo game anymore they are trying to change everything and make their own game. No one wants that we just want a normal fun diablo game but no the devs only listen to their egos no wonder why they have such bad backlash.

    They need to hire devs that actually care about their game instead of making everyone upset. It's sad when a game comes out with patches and has backlash every single time. Doesn't that tell them that their BS isn't working ? Fire the devs and hire diablo 2 devs to save this dumpster fire of a game.     Game is not even closely finished. Restistances not working, minions of the necromancer not working, lags whenever porting to cities, GPU-RAM still filling up (since beta this has been an issue).
    On top of that senseless dev/patch decisions (multi nerf of all classes w/o reasoning, nerfing PORT from 3 to 5 seconds, randomly giving couple of players opportunity to get unique rares and    Game is not even closely finished.     Huge server lag issues combat experience is ruined. Seems there is a great game underneath but it is unacceptable to launch a game like this. Being forced to be online with others sucks and breaks the immersion. An offline mode would fix all this. I can only give it a zero. Despite that there is a good game behind the constant lag the lag is there still all the time and 100% ruin the game.

    Dead game. Not fun because of lack of content, terrible itemization, poor class design, item drop rate, stash management. Been playing Necro for 80 levels and haven’t seen the unique required for the build I’m running. It has worse quality of life than previous Diablo games. The mount is terrible and buggy. I could go on and on.

    It's so bad. Save your money. They went backwards in terms of quality of life. Diablo 3 is still a much better game. It will take years for this to catch up and be nearly as good even with the good graphics. It's not even worth half the price

    The game is fun. This score of 0 is for patch 1.1.0 which nerfed most everything (which is fine by me, honestly. Im a filthy casual gamer dad) and addressed none of the actual issues in game (which is where I draw the line).

    Got a Bad reward system. the legendary chest at the end of the season 1 journey is a damn joke.... 3 yellow items with bad stats and item level 772???? this entire value assignment on the items is completely exaggerated and badly done. I play it through to the end, but it was more excruciating than fun. game deleted. shame on you blizzard.

    I love the look and feel of the game, but after finishing the story the world seems empty. Grinding helltides and dungeons over and over gets dull very quickly. I liked that the beginning felt difficult and managing resources and potions felt important. Towards the end game, you pretty much one shot everything and it's annoying to wait for skills to come off cool down.

    The balance feels very off to the point that everyone is running one or two builds per class. And for most classes can only deal damage with core skills, meaning there are only 4 possible skills to build your character around. All other skills are just there for unstoppable or support. Between having to use 1/4 skills to deal damage and the powers on items being either insanely overpowered or useless, your character does not feel unique or customizable. I think the paragon board starts to bring out uniqueness, but it doesn't offer enough power to make a build feasible. It's mostly just there to empower one of the two builds you can choose from. Not to mention how slow it feels to traverse the board, and it's the last thing you get to and it takes a good amount of grinding to finish. This almost feels like it should be the early access, and they need to listen to the community and make some major changes. I'd really like to be able to build a character around any skill, not just the core skills, and still have it be viable. Monsters and bosses aren't challenging and have few mechanics. Starting a new character, there is no content from levels 1-50, and after you only have dungeons and helltides. It's not challenging or fun enough to make me want to continue playing the game. This game feels like it could have potential, but with frequent bugs, crashes, and not much to do it doesn't feel like a finished game.

    Unbalanced in that some builds are not viable while others are broken with very little overlap
    Progression feels very slow, I like having the power tied to the character - but powering up a new character is so time consuming and boring I'm not really trying other classes
    Monsters and bosses do not have mechanics that make them fun to fight
    Crowd control is basically the only thing you need to be afraid of, and you can get around it with unstoppable

The frequency of these problems has pushed me to contemplate initiating a credit card chargeback, a measure I rarely consider.

    One of the most glaring flaws of Diablo IV is its repetitive gameplay. Despite a promising start, the game quickly descends into monotony, with a lack of fresh and engaging mechanics. Additionally, the bosses in the game fail to deliver the thrilling and memorable encounters that fans of the franchise have come to expect. The narrative, unfortunately, follows suit with a subpar storyline that fails to captivate and falls short of the series' established standards.

    The art direction of Diablo IV feels disjointed and lacking a cohesive vision. It seems as if an AI artist collaborated with an inexperienced designer, resulting in an unimpressive visual presentation. This departure from the series' iconic aesthetics is disappointing, as it fails to capture the dark and immersive atmosphere that made the previous entries so memorable.

    While Diablo III had its flaws, Diablo IV manages to surpass it in disappointment, earning the title of the worst game in the franchise and one of the most underwhelming experiences I have encountered this year.     How they gonna nerf 80% of the game for the very first season?

    Zero QOL updates, defense nerfed for what was already a glass cannon, classes doing upwards of 70% less damage, and making leveling much much harder.

    HORRIBLE!! Game was so not ready for release. Constant nerfs, Way over priced. Level scaling is horrid. Mounts feel terrible. Game gets really stale after 50. At no point will you feel powerful.

    there is no local coop on the pc, something that is on the console and not on the PC (they gave a very lame excuse), it lacks offline mode, it lacks search filters, the horse is very bad, it only serves as a decoration.

But with each patch and each nerf. they are slowly driving this game into the ground. The micro transactions are absolutely out of control.     I'd love to give it a better review, this game has potential to be 7 or 8/10. But the devs are just absolutely clueless on what they're doing. Overnerfing abilities, not buffing severely undertuned abilities and making bad changes overall. They're latest patch slowed most of the game and was backwards from what everyone wanted.

    Thank you dev's, for giving us the much needed season 1 patch with the nerfs for sorcerers! We really needed that. Thought my def was waaaaay to strong and my dps was overpowered too. And not only for sorcs you did it all the way across the board. BTW this major sarcasm! Thanks for killing a game with nerfs and not listening to your player base.     Can people stop hyping the graphics they aren't even good? Anything looks good in comparison to d3 btw but d4 looks pretty bad for a 2023 title from a AAA company. No ray traced lighting or shadows in a game that is primarily in dimly lit environments. Poor graphics for a modern title.

    Taking the DIABLO out of DIABLO. This game tries to be everything ecpet for a Diablo game. No more hirelings, no more trading, no more DIABLO. The game is a shall of what the franchise once was, except now, we have microtransactions for... Horse Armor! Yup, we've really come full circle and Blizzard's greed is never-ending. Evryone who purchased this garbage fell for Blizzard's dupe once again.

    Pretty **** game imo.
    The quests, environments, combat, and the playstyle is so repetitive. The repetitiveness could have been Ok if there was any bigger goal to strive for, but I unfortunately don’t get that feeling like I had with the prequels and other similar games.

    Gotta put 0/0 since I gave the game so much time that I wont get back. FeelsBadMan.

In cities, I bounce/teleport all over the place. In nightmare dungeons its not as bad, but it's still unacceptable and can cause a lot of deaths. This PC handles every other game I've thrown at it with ease. Not D4. I've tried tweaking the graphics settings, but this is still an issue. I've even tried a VPN (at a Blizzard dev's suggestion) but it's still an issue. What is frustrating to me is that Blizzard will, within days, kill any bug that favors the player base, but any issue that seems to be adversely affecting players .. these will go months without a fix. It's disappointing to say the least where their priorities are. Been two months and now in season 1, the stash situation is even worse now with the hearts. Still no extra tabs. I played a lot of D3. D4 is not anywhere near that level.… Expand

    dungeons are tedious, mob density is bad, and your builds must always focus around defense at 60+ nightmare tiers. the staple loot goblin is actually terrible. hardcore is a no go due to all the cheese. game literally deserves it's meta score, the devs literally will kill your fun. theres alot more, but im not typing anymore

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not worth of 70$ and has no content in it.
    Pros:
    - Pretty nice graphic and animations
    - Online multiplayer
    Cons:
    - The plot is weak and Blizzard just made the first act and the first location (Fractured Peaks) in details, all other game was made in a rush and it seems like it is not finished at all. All acts just makes you run accross the whole location straight to the dungeon. It does not make you to explore the locations they made, then what is the point of all of this? During all acts you just run chaising Lilith and in the end you go down to the hell and kill everyone including Lilith. From the trailers I waited for real war between Lilith and Inarius - you even do not participate in it, everyone just dies and you only see dead bodies and 1 boring cutscene.
    - Side quests are not interesting, they have no sens. Storngholds are the same as acts, only some of them are really well done, all others just can be bitten in 2 minutes.
    - Locations: no content on these locations and it is soooo boring.
    - Leveling is specifically lenghthen by Blizzard. You spend a lot of time to level up but for what? With higher levels different enemies do not have increased damage. You can easily be lvl 70 and kill an enemy of the same level, after that without upgrading your items you will easily fight the same enemy on level 100, the only one who will do more damage is you, but not the enemy. The only thing that gives some difficulty is world tier that makes you just take more damage from mobs, once you upgraded enough to sustain that damage - you complete the game and no more progress. Also it is worth mentioning that the mandatory dungeon that you need to complete in order to get tier 4 world is a piece of **** Instead of making something difficult and interesting, Blizzard just added enemies that one shots you, that's it, other mobs are the same as common one.
    - End game content???? Really, the only thing that Blizzard managed to do is over 100 dungeons that have 10-15 patterns and the same amount of bosses in it? Some random events such as Helltide is not enough to play this game more than couple of hours. Blizzard also made a 3 world bosses, really??? Also you will receive a note about world boss only after you finish all acts.
    - PVP is useless while you just see 100 LVL player in tier 2-3 world fighting against newbies on 40-70 LVL
    - Bugs, bugs and one more time bugs. Also servers still cannot handle all players and you die because of constant lags. And by the way Blizzard will blame all players that they have bad internet connection or they stupid enough to use weak Wi-Fi connection and that's the reason for all that lags but Blizzard does not understand that ALL players experience it and will never learn how to properly set up their servers.

    (changed from 3 to 0) Here is an update regarding Season 1:
    - they downgraded the game and made it even moe unplayable
    - the battlepass is just a scam product that you can buy completely for $170
    - in order to unlock the content of the season further, you need to complete boring challanges such as kill 1 mob, clear 3 dungeons etc. Noone limits you from playing the content except Blizzard, well, I suppose because this content can be finished within 1 hour    … Expand

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
