    Well. I'm Necromancer lvl 73. I play since the open Beta. There has been 3 server stress tests. There has been a closed bêta 6 month ago. But none of these beta helped the server stability.

    Early acess 02/06/23 : minor bugs, servers were working pretty well.     Nightmare dungeons : bugged. You can't go in with friends because you will be desynchronised 1 dungeon out of 2.
    Helltide : unplayable with lags. you'll die everytime you take a lag, and you'll lose your components.

    Release date 06/06/23 : lags everytime. Permanent lags, so totally unplayable endgame features

    08/06/23 22h30 GMT+1 : Crash server. Can't play. Only 2 days since release.

    Enough with server problems. There's also class balance problems. Barbarian is Godlike, rogue is too squishy (gets one shotted by almost everything), necromancer has literraly 0 mobility, druid is unkillable, and sorcerer is the only balanced class.

    Let's talk about campaign : Act 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5 are Star Wars Disney tier. Act 6 is a real masterpiece.
    Campaign boss fights are for retarded ppl. they have 0 mechanics, they just have a ton of hp.
    Only Lilith have a real boss fight. And Elias after the campaign will have a real boss fight too.

    The Artistic Direction is perfect. that's why i give them 1 point.
    Sound Design is good, but Lost Ark is better at it.

    There's a lack of features in the UI. We can't see other player's profile. there's no statistics, can't watch playtime, there's no ladder.
    There's no search bar for items in the stash. Gems take too much space

    And there's a ton of other bugs, like sometimes you can't use any ability or dash. Sometimes the horse's pathfinding will totally bug. Cinematics will sometimes bug when you play with friends, only 1 in the group will the dialogues / cinematics.

    There's no diversity in the bestiary and the dungeon bosses or in the decorations. All monsters are recycled with different color, and they are spread all over the entire map. Dungeons are procedural but you will see always the same monsters in them.
    Dungeon Bosses are catastrophic. Distant / Mage bosses are retarded, they do no damage so you can just burst them with any build.
    Melee Bosses are a nightmare, they run faster than you, have an attack speed higher than the light speed. So you almost can't kite them and if you don't play barbarian, druid or sorcerer frost you'll just instant die.

    To sum up, this game is garbage and doesn't deserve your money, let Blizzard sink.    … Expand

    The vast majority of the public, on all channels, on all social networks, did not like the changes and nerfs, every day asking everywhere for Blizzard to change and improve what they did and they just don't care about us.

    For me the story is not worth the 70USD, it can be good but to sell me a full priced game with battle pass, ingame store or skins and add to that possible DLC or classes .... Stupid server crashes for hardcore players, a P2W release event "with early access" is fine they want to make money as a service but don't sell me the **** skins at that price being a full price AAA game.

    The game has absolutely nothing new. They sold me Diablo 3, only with improved graphics. History is secondary and uninteresting. I didn't really connect with any of the new characters. There is no longer any trust in the Blizzard.

    Let's be honest, this is a game from Activision, the most vile and evil company in gaming and in the world. They released this game with pre-reserved content for Seasons and Expansions, despite upcharging the game. That alone says all you need to know. If you watched the developer interviewers, it was pretty easy to see that not one of them had any real passion for the game they were developing.

    Now here's the kicker. They released the game with the 'end game' Dungeons proving pretty much no benefit at all, and are quite tedious with many dead ends, walking time, town time, horse time, etc. These are endgame Dungeons that provide the same amount of XP and Items on level 1 as on level 40. Which of course proves they didn't test or play their game at all.

    Instead of proving they care about the game by doing something simple like adding an XP equation to the Dungeons, they 'maximized' on the situation by arrogantly saying 'it's something we will fix when you play our next season'. Literally all they have to do is open a coding document, and apply a simple equation that involves Dungeon levels.

    They have literally only nerfed things since the game started. They don't care about a user feeling powerful, they care about SLOWING everybody down, so everybody has to spend more time in game. They LITERALLY took the servers offline for 1 hour so they could 'ninja patch' every town so the vendors, stashes, and other necessities were much farther apart. All to 'train' their 'clients' to get used to spending 4 hours in the game to get that 20 minute dopamine fix most ARPGs simply hand out.    … Expand

Further, they're giving us only a few keybinds and they're massive and glued to under your action bar and cannot be turned off.

The game is now plagued with glitches and errors that make it almost unplayable. It's like the developers didn't even bother testing it before pushing it out to the public.

    And let's talk about the supposed "balance changes" they made. Instead of creating a more enjoyable experience, they've ruined the game's core mechanics. Classes that were once balanced are now overpowered or useless. It's clear the developers have no clue about game design, and they've destroyed the delicate equilibrium that made the game fun.

    But that's not all. The patch also brought with it a slew of microtransactions and pay-to-win features. It's evident that the developers care more about squeezing money out of their players than providing a quality gaming experience. Greed has triumphed over integrity, and it's a disgrace.

    game without content after the end of the story. as if not enough if. we're going to spend 240 hours to level up a character, so he can't be used in the next season. all the work of getting the renown and the like needs to be started from scratch.....ridiculous that...never again, I waste time in this game.

    I'm a medical student supporting 9 wives and 2 kids on a Walmart salary.
    Time to myself is especially hard to come by so this latest patch was the biggest setback in my entire life. It genuinely feels like every second I invested in my sorcerer build was a complete and utter waste.

    Activision Blizzard can lick the cheese off my nuts. I'll never buy one of their games until next year.

    They have removed most parts of what makes RPG's great and interesting, therefor we are left with little to no replayability. No randomized Dungeons/Area's just the same boring stuff with stolen mechanics from PoE (not even well implemented).     Diablo 4 is an absolute masterpiece. The game has excellent story delivery with top-shelf voice acting and writing. The visuals are stunning and the best ever seen in the genre. The combat is exciting with endless customization and the performance is flawless with near-zero bugs

Quality Department was sleeping again, released it at a state where you just have to facepalm. On the top of it there is a bug that can completely disable you from going nightmare dungeons. For example me, I took quest. Got 2    Well what to say.

Quality Department was sleeping again, released it at a state where you just have to facepalm. On the top of it there is a bug that can completely disable you from going nightmare dungeons. For example me, I took quest. Got 2 nightmare keys, activated one - disconnect, key gone. Activated second, disconnect again, and key gone. So far no chance to finish the quest than to find a good soul to take you with them in group and finish a nightmare dungeon.

    I was on the fence about buying this game at all but I bought the $100 (USD) ultimate edition so I could play with my friends pre-launch. After forcing myself to keep with the druid for 2+ hours, I decided I couldn't take it any longer and made a new character. 1 minute log-in queue.     1 minute log-in queue. 'Ok, not a big deal, it's opening weekend and only 1 minute.'
    ---> 'log-in pending'
    ---> several minutes later I gave up and tried to log in again hoping it was a bug. I got the exact same result.
    ---> I then tried closing and opening the game in hopes it was a local bug that could be fixed with a reload of the game.
    ---> I then got a 24-MINUTE LOG-IN WAIT (there were plenty of people struggling with this same thing, see other accounts of it online). Frustrated, and needing to leave to do other things IRL, I quit.

    I decided I would seek a refund. I will again point out that the ENTIRE reason I bought this early, and as an upgraded edition, was exclusively to play with my friends since they are big Diablo fans. Since I could not play it at all, I requested a refund.

    I got two different responses from two different people. The first response was due to "one or more products included in this purchase were already consumed." I didn't use any mounts. I didn't put on any cosmetics. All I can guess is that the 'season pass', or something else, was applied immediately upon purchase meaning from the moment of installation the game would be non-refundable.

    The second response was actually quite nicely written and kind, but the end result was the same. This time, the reason was I had too much play time. Ok, they have a 2-hour limit for refunds, I get that. Also, I am standing by my point that buying this early to be able to play pre-launch, something they advertised, AND BEING UNABLE TO LOG-IN AND PLAY, should be plenty of grounds for refund. If you went to a movie and the projector quits half-way through the movie you would seek a refund. As we know by now, however, Blizzard doesn't care at all about things like player satisfaction of purchase, enjoyment of the product, etc. so I am out $100 for a game that can't even log-in regularly.

    The game itself wasn't terrible (not that great either...), but the way Blizzard handled this was, as usual, lacking any real care about how it impacts the players so long as they got the money and can legally justify keeping it (refusing refunds).

    Regarding the gameplay: As others have said, the customization of skills feels less impactful than D3, the customizations are less interesting that D3, and leveling up doesn't feel like it's adding much each time. I found myself respec'ing my skills over and over trying to get some skills I enjoyed. Also, in D3, I loved playing harder difficulty for better drops and XP. In this one, it feels like the next difficulty up takes 2x the time to kill something but only 20% more XP. I had to set it back to 'Adventure' difficulty to make it at all enjoyable and not feel like a miserable grind with boring, monotonous gameplay.

    This game may become great as they update, tweak, and change skills. Or, they won't, and it will stay mediocre as it is.

    Graphics are decent, story is decent as well. Instead, Blizzard decides to crap all over the good will of their player base yet again with the mentality 'you aren't going anywhere, who cares.'

    Season one sucks. At release I loved the game and got my money's worth of entertainment. When they nurfed everything it took all that time I spent on my character and threw it in the trash. I will no longer be playing this game. I am done.

    Boring, All the gear modifiers are the same, All the rings/amulets are the same. But it doesn't matter that all the gear is the same, because the enemies all scale to whatever level you are, so you will always pretty much do the same damage.
    You are punished for levelling in this game.
    If you liked the original D1 D2 games, you will really really hate this.
    Complete waste of money.

This feels like a push towards heavy monetization. If people aren’t playing, they can’t monetize. The longer they play, the more likely they are to buy.

You have to spend minimum 25$ to get ONE skin. This game is more expensive than Fortnite, Halo Infinite or other free to play. It got even worse with the first introduced season pass.... This game demands you to pay 10$ wich is the standard price for a season pass IN A F2P GAME for the premium. If you dont have the premium, you get 27 free tier, wich is roughly the same thing in F2P, but, here's the catch, almost half of these free tiers are "smoldering ashes" wich allow you to buy some small bonuses for the season (1 month) like +5% EXP. But it also not give enough of the premium money to allow you to buy another pass next month, wich is usually done by F2P games, but Diablo 4 wants to milk more money than that apparently.
    So not only does this game have the audacity to nerf every character and the EXP outcome from almost everything, but not only does he allow himself to be 70$ AND be more expensive in it's microtransaction system than a F2P game. I just uninstalled the game after this chain of update.
    and you're probably gonna tell me "but these are just skins, it's fine" no it is not. It's this method of thinking that led us to the catastrophe of Battlefront 2 years ago. Because if you put a paying skin in-game, it haves to be deduced from the game itself. If a free skin is looking more attractive then a paying skin, why buying the skin ? This leads to having all the great looking skins in the shop.
    About the story, many peoples disliked it, I, personnaly enjoyed it, it was really short, but it wouldn't have been good to extend it artificially.

    So in previous diablo games level of monsters was fixed. So player CHOSE difficulty by going under level. (if player power is lacking) to grind more and catch up, and keep game difficulty enjoyable. or go over level (if player power is above the curve) and raise difficulty to make it enjoyable.
    because monsters just level up with you, and you have NO choice to pick difficulty for yourself... in many case game is boring because its too easy, or its boring because its to hard and grindy. Game does have same time in golden middle, but not much. It is even worse for your alts.
    One of solutions would be : allow player to -X +X monster levels, that this will reduce/increase XP and Magic find but allow players TO PICK GAMEPLAY THEY WANT TO HAVE!
    Itemization is also boring after first 100 hours. You almost never ever see anything new and interesting. You have seen all legendries by then. And diablo 4 drops very few interesting unyque's. fail here too.
    so... its ARPG, looter to create power fantasy for players. And D4 fails at both power fantasy and loot part.

    I would recommend Blizzard to focus on creating quality gameplay, instead of focusing on creating perfect platform to sell battle passes and overpriced cosmetics.

    If you like ARPG - give Diablo 4 a try. I still believe it technical masterpiece worth experiencing. Only don't plan to spend 3000 h on it like you did in Diablo 2...    … Expand

    The gameplay is still the same, virtually no evution whatsoever. The graphics are lacking. The story had potential but has completely gone south.

    The economic model just harms this shell of a AAA game further.

I played the game till I got a level 87 Rogue and it got really boring cos of lack of content, no reason to push to level 100 apart from lilith who drops **** so really no initiative to go forward for 13 more levels to get 0.5% upgrade on close damage.     After 1.1 patch, I really think if it's worth to even play Season 1.
    Maybe if they undo some changes, I will consider it.
    I lost my faith in Blizzard being able to bring up good changes.
    They're Devs simply don't play the game.. there's no other explanation for such horseshait changes.    … Expand

    Can't believe i had to pay full price for this game. It has sorely disappointed in every way. I have no interest playing this game when there is zero end game. There are so many better choices out there and i'll see my way there.

    The most tone deaf Dev team ever. The game had a chance at being great, it has lost it's allure for me after the flagrant disregard for basic QoL updates in lieu of completely dismantling the game.

    Season 1 update kill the Game and the games was already worst than D2 or D3.

    The sorceres on end Game IS crap. Also they try to sell crap cosmetics all the time.

    This Game do not worth the money better but baldurs Gate 3 or diablo 2 remake.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
