    Game is terrible. waste of $70-80 depending on where you live. Won't let you refund if you've spend ~2 hours in-game. Cannot zoom in/out camera. No End-game content. what an utter disappointment.

    Made an account just to review this game. I played Diablo 2 endlessly for years and these idiots can't design a game anymore. Why, why, why for the love of god would you put in level scaling in a game like this. If you want the game to be "hard", elden ring showed you how, not with this artificial **** that everyone agreed was stupid 15 years ago in Oblivion. Your most famous and successful game of all time, Diablo 2, didn't have it but you think both sequels needed it after everyone keeps saying they hate it. If you want to rebuild your char you have to reset everything, where is the Diablo 3 armory profile, why reforging is so expensive and so hard to make gold (i mean if i only play 1 build i got enough gold, but if i wanna swap ffs), why every enemy in the f*** game can CC and spam CC
    Hardcore 2/10 - Why tf there is a Potion + Scroll in HC, most of the deaths come from lag or server issues it's not that difficult to not die with the correct build
    PVP 0/10 - ARPG pvp :D

    It's not a 0, it's a 4/10 because early game and probably future seasons and patches will fix it. But people that consume paid streamers and they are still in early game have no brain. I also know that i forgot toooons of things that are bad in the game, but no one will care about this review.

    It's just a D3 remake for 70$ Some parts are better, more are worse but I'm not supporting something that should be 20$ for the quality of game we get.

    Game is too dark, it's hard to differentiate between elites/champions and normal trash mobs because they removed the colorization they had in d3, it feels like you are always fighting weak or strong trash mobs.

    Bosses are terrible, they have zero mechanics, just pure damage sponges.

    To make the pace of the game slower, they nerfed builder skill damage. You are always building up resources to spend it in a second. Combat is really boring, felt so much better and smoother in d3.

    Leveling is a slog, it takes around 150 hours to reach max level if you play solo and don't exploit party benefits.

    World events are boring as hell, it feels like you are forced to do boring chores copied directly from world of warcrafts world quest system.

    Mount is the worst functioning system in the game without a doubt. Clunky as hell, keeps getting stuck between barriers placed out in the world and needs to charge a charge for a speed boost. If you get dismounted in combat there is a 30 second cooldown lol.

    UI looks like pure garbage, optimized for consoles and it shows. Too much emphasis on the character look (obviously for mtx reasons) and too little on the loot. It doesn't feel good when you get new good items, there is no dopamine rush like there was in d2 and d3.

    This game is not worth 70 (or 100 with the battlepass) dollars. The story is very generic. The only good thing about this game is the graphics in my opinion. If you really want to buy it wait for a sale and pick it up for 20-30 dollars. When you reach lvl 60-70 you have pretty much done everything there is to do in the game, there is no point in reaching lvl 100.

    Im a lvl 80 barbarian and i kinda forced myself to keep playing in hopes it was going to get better but the game felt like a boring chore the entire time. In my humble opinion, do not buy this trash.    … Expand

    This is an unfinished game as of release date. Itemisation and economy is non-existent. Class/spec balance is 1/10. Endgame content is lackluster. In-game systems and QoL are terrible. Zero innovation.

    The look and feel however seems fine, game plays smoothly, combat is fluent.

    Edit: changed to 1 from 4, promising fixing things _season later_ is a no go for 70 eur/usd. Season 1 is lackluster.

    I was anticipating this game for months now. When it finally released it was plagued with constant crashes. I wish i could review more of the game but i find myself continuously restarting dungeons and quests due to hundreds of crashes. LITERALLY. No joke, in my Diablo IV error folder I have 89 reported crashes and that does not include the hard crashes where the entire computer freezesI was anticipating this game for months now. When it finally released it was plagued with constant crashes. I wish i could review more of the game but i find myself continuously restarting dungeons and quests due to hundreds of crashes. LITERALLY. No joke, in my Diablo IV error folder I have 89 reported crashes and that does not include the hard crashes where the entire computer freezes and restarts. I friggin hate the current state of the game. Progressions absolutely sucks. I sometimes crash just sitting in a town while i go grab some water. The devs constantly focusing their efforts on nerfing everything in site with class skill reductions, move deletion, dungeon elite spawn rate nerfing and everything thing other than fixing the dang crashes.     Im gonna be honest , this is fun for like 2 hours after that gameplay is the same. Scaling is super weird your character doesn't really feel stronger. Skill tree is alright nothing special. I will say however unless you follow builds you're gonna have like 8x harder time. EDIT: I swear most of the positive reviews are botted the entire page was all 10's so im giving it a 0.

    Base game is ok tier but really lack of communication and really weird management disabling equipment and aspect without ETA, without communication. It's a real bad start for a game which is meant to last and buried the trust from the team making good choice in the future.

    Horrible after the storyline. Only a few viable builds and the uniques do not add much value. Mob density is so low everywhere that the game is a walking simulator. Furthermore, Blizzard is only nerfing items/dungeons not really trying to improve the game. What a dissapointment.

And today they even nerfed the mob density which for hack and slash games is the core concept. Shielders of blizzard will rant "its realistic" "I like the slow gameplay" but srsly? This is DIABLO, you are a overpowered monster grinder not some low adventurer. Overall I would give it a 0 but I gave 1 since I liked the bear smash.

    Update. Changed to a 0 wish I can refund it so I can just trash the cash which is the same as playing diablo 4    … Expand

    The game is great in terms of campaign story, music, environments. However, Blizzard is known to take the "fun" away silently (eg. see the new constant nerfs).

    It took them 1 week and instead of making the game a bit more fun, it's now very shallow. Not to mention all the other bad design decisions (rewards, quests, inexistent open world, etc).

    For the time we've been waiting for it, and all the missing features, the diablo inmortal UI, the shop, the repetitive endgame, the lack of build diversity, the inexistence of customizable atributes, the **** itemization (like in D3), the price, the season pass, and much more, it doesn't deserve more than a 0. I wanted it to be good, it is just plain garbage.

    The Dev team has taken the direction to nerf anything fun to artificially extended the leveling process and making it feel like a chore. I had fun will it lasted, but I uninstalled the game and wont be playing for a while until they understand that they need the buff the lackluster content instead of nerfering the good ones

I have thousands of hours playing diablo 2 and have been a fan of the franchise since my early childhood. I had more fun playing Chronicon for $12 off steam then my $90 copy of diablo 4, and Chronicon doesn't even have multiplayer which is a huge downfall.I knew this game would be bad just from the footage from the beta but I decided to buy it just to give it a chance with friends.     When you play ARPG's you expect to be fighting through hordes of monsters with a badass character and the game to feel good. What you get out of diablo 4 is an empty desert devoid of life while you kill 3 skeletons because they are afraid of packsize.

    This game is absolutely horrible, the systems are overly complex to try to pretend it has depth like POE. When it is just complex to be complex. Example: 30% fire resistance, reduces fire damage by 14.8%. Not to mention that all damage snapshots, so if you get a damage over time on you like poison and you press your 1 defensive cooldown with 50% reduced damage taken. It doesn't do anything to reduce the damage at all, the damage is snapshotted before you had the damage reduction.    … Expand

I started of as a Druid, leveling was fine as i hit lvl 50 and was done with the campaign i started to farm Dungeons and Nightmare Dungeons.     I must acknowledge the marketing team at Bliz for successfully hyping the game and driving sales. If it were any other game with a different name and a less devoted fan base, I don't think it would have fared as well. So being lvl 100 only makes it harder, because of this scaling. Then cherry on top, why? Why would you want to be level 100. There is no end game content where you can get better loot or do real UBER bosses to get even better gear.

    -There is a lack of stuff to kill. They just nerfed dungeon mob density which is pretty dumb. They should actually do the opposite and buff density so dungeons are packed full of mobs. I want endless armies of hundreds of mobs and elites in every dungeon or open world area to kill.
    -Cash shop - uh wtf. I already paid for the game. Why is there micro transactions for this game ?
    -Mount gets stopped constantly and feels clunky. Why are there random roadblocks around the map? Its just annoying.
    -No saved gear and talent profiles so you have to redo everytime you switch builds. Why does it cost gold to change talents?

    I'm forgetting a lot of other stuff.

El juego hace agua por todos lados: las monturas, la interfazLa historia es muy corta y poco interesante, reciclada. Es la misma historia de siempre con 2 cinemáticas nada más, las que enseñaron en youtube meses antes del lanzamiento, si las has visto eso es todo amigo. El resto son secuencias con el motor del juego, muy pobres. Tiene pocas clases y cada clase muy poca variedad de builds. El juego hace agua por todos lados: las monturas, la interfaz horrible, optimización malísima. Open world?... con matices, todas las zonas van por capas, vas al lado de un jugador y desaparece en tus narices porque cambia a otra capa al cambiar de una región a otra. Tirones, latencia constante de 200 m/s (que estamos en 2007 con adsl de 1 Mega o en 2023?) hasta 1500 m/s he llegado a tener y no el primer día, la segunda semana tras el lanzamiento. Todos los bosses son piñata, me he pasado el boss para acceder a dificultad máxima con 5 niveles por debajo de el, cuerpo a cuerpo tanqueándomelo con un rogue que es la clase mas blandita y me duro 15 segundos matarlo... ni me bajaba la vida. El inventario horrible, el almacenamiento de rasgos horrible, tengo 9 pociones de las cuales raramente bajo a 7/9 porque cada enemigo te suelta alguna. El sistema de gemas espantoso y encima no hay almacén de gemas, te las pone en el inventario separadas cada una por nivel. El sistema de renombre tedioso, se supone que es la parte de exploración que tiene que ser divertida y es horrible, encima cuando creas otro personaje te sale todo por completar... o lo haces con tu primer personaje al 100% o te obligan a sacar el renombre completo desde cero. Si no me gusta el personaje y quiero cambiar a otro a volver a sacar renombre de cero... absurdo. A nivel 65 ya va tan fina la build que no pica seguir jugando, seguir para que?. La build ya va sobrada en la dificultad máxima que se supone que es a partir de 70 pero a 65 ya volatilizo a enemigos que me sacan 10 niveles en la dificultad máxima... se hace tedioso porque se reduce todo a entrar y salir de la misma dungeon porque es un coñazo ir a caballo de una a otra... o hacer sigilos que es básicamente lo mismo. Los bosses de mundo no llegan ni a piñata, puedes quedarte AFK y dejas que lo maten otros que te da loot igual. Hablando de AFK, si te quedas AFK en una party subes experiencia... y no, no se divide o tienes penalty por ir en party de 4, te dan experiencia extra por ello. incluso por tener otro jugador al lado sin estar en tu party, he visto a gente leveando montada a caballo, para que no le golpeen los enemigos, dando vueltas por el medio de la gente para subir de nivel... te pueden bostear a lv100 estando AFK sin problema... gente muriendo en hardcore y a los 30 minutos tenia otro personaje al mismo nivel porque claro, boostear es tan simple y rápido que pierde sentido la palabra "hardcore". Que decir de los minieventos de mundo, escasos y repetitivos, todo lo mismo, especial mérito a los de los fantasmas, estas en medio de un desierto y te dice que esta su mujer perdida en "este bosque", vas a una zona rocosa y el mismo fantasma con la misma conversación... reciclar esta bien, pero cuando es plástico, no en un videojuego!. Muy decepcionado y encima la historia corta y pobre, me arrepiento de haber pagado por este juego.… Expand

Combat is a chore. No sense of progression, garbage loot and the legendary items are not connected with the lore. Every monster feels the same. Gems are useless as well as weapon upgrade system...     This game has been modified to the point where it’s no fun. Blizzard’s officials don’t like the players at all. The previous elite monsters have all been changed. It’s okay if the PvP mechanism is bad. There’s no way to play PVE well. It’s really bad.

    my bigest problems with the game are:
    - the story is trash
    - only 2 good cutscenes the rest are trash ingame cutscenes
    - your character build is "complete" at low lvl and after that the extra upgrades dont feel good at all because everything scales with u. so you dont feel anny character progression after u have every skill u need for your build...

    The game cost in my region almost half a minimum wage, almost double one of the best games ever, Elden Ring. For that price tag I was expecting something out of this world,    I have just reached the maximum level(100) in Diablo 4. In this review I will tell you why this game deserves a 0/10 score and why you shouldn't spend your hard earned money in this game if you have any self-respect.

    The game cost in my region almost half a minimum wage, almost double one of the best games ever, Elden Ring. For that price tag I was expecting something out of this world, an experience to transcend my senses and understanding of the universe. Instead we got an unstable release with plenty of bugs, crashed, disconnects and rubber-bending.

    The campaign was probably the high point of this game, it is short but has a decent story without the typical cliche of Starcraft 2, where you commit genocide in a galactic scale to save your girlfriend.

    After the campaign and you reach level 50, you will start the mid-game, where you will progress your paragon level, which will take you to level 100. After level 80, this becomes incredibly slow, you might wonder, why that happens, and the answer is as shallow as it is sad. The reason is because there is almost *nothing* to do in the late game after you reach level 100, so they must keep you busy doing repetitive content for the sake of doing it.

    The game caps nearly all forms of progression after you reach level 100, and the only thing that remains for you to progress are 'Nightmare Dungeons', but your motivation to consume this content becomes null, because there is no noticeable increase in rewards for reaching higher levels, no better gear from it, nothing, void, emptiness.

    What starts to make you really despise this game and its developer are all the obnoxious techniques that they use to waste your time. They added a bunch of affixes to these Nightmare Dungeons that are their 'main content' after you reach level 50. The issue with it however, is that these affixes are completely irrational.

    Let me explain, some of these affixes to the dungeon are like this: "all monsters have 40% damage reduction against your damage type". Well, why the heck would I ever do such a dungeon?! So you will just waste your time trying to get a different affix, the problem becomes when you want to play with your friends, and then you need to make an affix matrix to decide which combination screw your group the least. This is lazy and dumb to say the least.

    *Important: they will release the first season less than 1 month after the game release, where players must start everything from ZERO. I believe this validates my point that they are doing everything for you to stay away from late game, because there is no late game.

    Monetization. In the USA, the game price tag is probably $70 to $90 depending on the version, but in my region (Brazil) it costs nearly half a minimum wage. Now imagine, they charge that premium, plus cash shop for, in their own words, '*MOSTLY* cosmetic goods'. And of course, they also add a lot of irrational inconveniences, such as, obviously, insufficient storage space, so they can sell you more space in the future 'seasonal passes' every 3 months. This is just disgusting, this makes me hate blizzard to another level. I honestly reserve myself from expressing my feelings towards this company and their employees to avoid getting into a no flight list.

    Blizzard today is the complete opposite of what it used to be 10 years ago, from quality of product to quality of service, it has all gone considerably downhill. No more live chat support, no more phone support, excessively buggy and unstable releases, misrepresentation of products and disrespect of customers. Not to mention all the scandals that have gone unpunished across the board.

    These are the reasons why I rate this game 0/10, and recommend that you should not spend your hard earned money in this trash.    … Expand

    Like I said most of my complaints have been listed by most of the comments. I don't really need to explain anything. I'll just list a few things to keep people off my back.

    1. SCALING - WHY BLIZZARD!!! FREAKING WHY!?!?!?

    2. Itemization - I hate the fact that my build is constantly changing or I can't find the legendry's I need to finish my build and on top of that we have the weirdest stats on them.

    3. MOB DENSITY!!! - I don't need to explain anything here.

    4. The game is too easy honestly - I beat Lilith no problem on a whirlwind barbarian on tier 2 on my first playthrough in a just couple minutes with no effort at all. I felt no challenge whatsoever. I was an early access player to and I barely played. I flew through the game in no time at all. It was a joke. I felt no challenge with anything I've done in the game. The only time I was having legitimate fun was when I was fighting Ashava. That was awesome. Other than that I felt nothing.

    5. No GEM bag!!! - Why TF is there no GEM bag!?!?!? They should be picked up automatically like materials etc.

    6. Dungeons/Aspects - I do not like the fact that dungeons only offer the lowest possible rolls for aspects etc. There needs to be ranges per tier for aspects when acquired from dungeons.

    7. Microtransactions - I'd rather pay Microtransactions for PoE. Not because I want to. Just because its IDK... A KAJILLION times better. You promised us we would not have microtransactions with Diablo 4...however, we got them!

    8. Talent trees and builds. - I don't care what anyone says. The talents and skills in this game are GARBAGE and too simple. I play a Whirlwind barb. It's a joke. and too simple to play. I get it that its a WW barb. But why the hell would I want to use 3 shouts and WoTB along with a static Lunging attack with WW to complete the build. And WHY am I stuck to using 6 skills again like in Diablo 3? Dude I want to use skills like in Diablo 1 and 2. I could use sooooo much in Diablo 2. Why am I stuck to 6.

    9. NO RUNES or SET ITEMS!!! - Where are the RUNES and set items!?!?!?

    10. This game feels like another chore - AND I HATE DOING CHORES!!!

    There are job listings for new Dev hiring by Blizzard in Albany , NY. in the past month.

    That is all you need to know.

    It was a Cash Grab by Blizzard, they used Woke Devs, and treated the game like a mobile phone app at $100... and now they are paying for it.

Apart from the Cinematic trailer they put out a while back i havent had any contact with any content news etc., just heard/read it was worth while.     The once great Blizzard North was bought out over a decade ago and none of the brilliant minds still work there at what is now called Activision Blizzard. Blizzard pumps out flashy games with no substance and puts the Blizzard stamp on it to cash in on nostalgia and utilize predatory in game cash transaction practices. Their games are pure marketing & sales. Look at reviews for any of their games in the last decade. I wish I had.

    The only drawback I see is the store, I would have preferred to see them add the skins they made before release to the actual game rather than in the store.

    that being said, being able to play with friends on other consoles is wonderful.

    I would HIGHLY recommend picking up this game, it is wonderfully paced, with a great atmosphere and fantastic storytelling. It feels like a true blizzard game and it has to be commended as such.

    Not ready for release. No customer support. Activision/Blizzard has disabled in-game support tickets, so if you encounter a game-breaking issue you cannot get it resolved. I experienced game-breaking issues and eventually gave up on playing the game. I tried to get a refund after playing the game for 2 days. Activision/Blizzard denied my request for a refund. I submitted multiple ticketsNot ready for release. No customer support. Activision/Blizzard has disabled in-game support tickets, so if you encounter a game-breaking issue you cannot get it resolved. They escalated me to a manager who told me that they had no way of getting me to in-game support and they had no way to refund my money, they didn't have the ability. They also threatened account action if I continued submitting support tickets. I contacted my bank, explained the situation, and started the process of a charge-back. Given the base design, it simply does not mesh with the concept of seasons. They'd either have to seriously smoothen out the leveling curve or increase drop rates given the lack of trading.

    But based on how the devs are reacting to these concerns, I believe they have neither the IQ nor the willingness to reflect. The Blizzard house is but a ramshackle shell of its former self.     While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
