May 18, 2012Lackluster graphics, game play, story, and skill trees. DRM to play a single player game? What are we paying for then? HUGE disappointment. If you want to own it, pirate it. You don't get what you pay for.

May 18, 2012What is the point of buying a game if you can't even play it? I saved up for it, just to play by myself. I'm not a big multiplayer user, so I bought it for the singleplayer. Turns out, it doesn't matter. I can't play it without being online, which is horrible since I don't always have internet. Also: Error 37.

May 18, 2012I would like to be able to play the game I payed $60 for whenever I like, not whenever Blizzard decides to have their servers running. This always-on DRM is absolutely ridiculous.

May 19, 2012I have never played this game, but after seeing so many bad reviews and waiting all these years for it, the game has made me so mad, its almost like I've played it and I absolutely hate it. 0/10 Blizzard is bad.

May 19, 2012Disappointment. After so many years, Blizzard managed to make a great game, but due to stupid options (extinguishing the offline mode), they completelly ruined the gaming experience. Right now I regret the money I spend to buy Diablo.
-
May 19, 2012Why should I have to be online to play the game in single player? Why should I have to accept downtime for server maintenance for a single player game? If always online DRM is the future of games count me out, epic fail!
-
May 19, 2012There is no way to play the game offline, even by yourself. You can't customise your character - stats, skills or appearance.
The story is confusing.
And, last but not least, the servers go down for scheduled maintenance at 10:15pm EST Saturday night the week it comes out. -
May 19, 2012I would give 8.5 if you could play offline, but I have to keep stopping every moment, either because of bugs or long maintenance of own blizzard, this type of treatment the client can not get away

May 19, 2012tengo que estar online para poder jugar individualmente, esto hace al juego inservible si estoy en zonas que no tengo conexión (viajo bastante), nunca me interesaron las partidas multijugador

May 19, 2012Look at all the sheep defending always online drm bleeting that angry consumers are entitled whiners. Tell me, if pokemon, halo or GTA had always online drm would you bend over and let them ass rape you as long as they put in an auction house? Screw D3 and the blizz fanboys. Enjoy your server crashes, connection failures, lost game progress, gold farmers and lag monsters.

May 19, 2012Dont buy it. The grafics are not so good, the gameplay is kinda dead, you must play online for singleplayer, there are lags all the time, the game does not last so much, and so on .And if all that was not enough, there is a marketplace with real money, so you must pay more money to get the good stuff, since the game itself dont give you much rare/good itens...

May 20, 2012Too many bad things, DRM, graphics, voices, history, gameplay, character customization, wow styled, no rol like diablo series.... hell, 10 years wasted. oh wait, in 10 years they just care about WoW, this game wasnt even developed by serious people. its just a joke.
-
May 19, 2012The game is great. But the constant connection drop, is a pain in the ***. I can't even play single player without connection issues, I keep dying cause lag just hangs my player, and when It comes back I'm surrounded by enemies.
Sucks, Sucks, Sucks. -
May 19, 2012
-
May 19, 2012biggest godamn boss fight of the game is Error 37. Once you defeat Error 37, you may be able to continue into the game. dont get your hopes up, for you may still be booted at virtually any time because you are forced to use their **** maintained severs to pay your own f***ing single player game.

May 20, 2012worst game by blizzard!!! why single player mode needs server response? why it can't be like starcraft 2? i understand making it online is important bcoz of privacy issue, but this is a stupid design, and activision and blizzard have to admit it.

May 20, 2012It could have been great after so many years, but Blizzard just wants to fleece us: destroying single player and LAN play, and forcing everybody to play online so we spend money in their Auction House just destroys the game, however good it can be. Shame on you, Blizzard.
-
May 20, 2012A really great game... if it was playable. Great graphics, great optimization, great story-telling, awesome atmosphere and gameplay...
but horrid on-line experience (can't connect, server under maintenance, horrid lag spike...)
Blizzard knew people were already upset about the lack of an off-line mode, yet they failed to deliver a stable on-line play. -
May 20, 2012Wow, just went to play. Played 2 mins and BAM server maintenance. WTF? Thats why people hate always online DRM. You want to play single player BUT CAN'T. Blizzard sucks. Only dumb fanboys will vote positive on this piece of broken ****

May 20, 2012I wish I could say something about the game, but I haven't been able to log-in. This is ridiculous, not being able to play single-player without passing through Battle.net's crappy servers. I know they're doing this to prevent duped items and getting ready for the real money action-house, but this is NOT the way to go. A big no-no to Blizzard.
-
May 20, 2012Sinceramente, no merece la pena pagar x un juego como este, cuando la compañia ni siquiera se hace cargo de el,Insto a la gente a q lo descargue y lo juegue pirata
-
May 20, 2012Lets forget the always on-line DRM and overload issues. I dont play D3 because it is a Blizzard game, I play it because it is an A-RPG, and for me, D3 failed on RPG part. In my own opinion, my issue with D2 is: Those Strength and Dexterity limit on equipment make the attributes points for character become useless. As Necromancer, I never put a single point on EnergyÂ

May 20, 2012what kind of company makes a game and forces single player to connect to a server and then take the European servers down at peak time on a Sunday when most people will want to play?
Hopefully a company that very soon will be going insolvent when it loses its fan base. Let's hope Torchlight 2 do better than this and take all Blizzard's customers. -
May 20, 2012outdated graphics, broken servers, playable only when battle.net is up + it is obvious they released a 25% complete game to boost their H1 earnings reports.
think will be playable when 1st expansion and its 2nd patch comes out - just like d2 -
Jun 4, 2012I give a 0 score because this is the only way I can protest against the on-line single player thing. Just imagine that you pay for something what's only playable as long as Blizzard supports it. Blizzard may go bankrupt one day and you can then wipe your ass with the 60â
-
May 20, 2012It's not fair that blizzard's inadequacies to keep their servers online impacts on my gameplay. If i want to play offline I should have the option too - especially since they're not competent enough to keep their servers online.
FAIL -
May 20, 201220/05 and i can't still play on eu server..
this is ridiculous, i have no word for describing it..
Loot sistem sucks, the game is really short but is done well.
the really bad part is the inesistent offline part, we can't play cause the servers are full or cause they are down.. in all this days i had all the time 250 of latency and i die cause all the spike lag.. no word really -

May 20, 2012Single player has all the worst features of a MMo, first of all server availability. Europe severs offline on sunday: no single player, no game, only the sensation of the worst work in blizzard history.
-
May 20, 2012This is fun. It's Sunday. I would like to play single player mode in game that I bought. I can't. There is some server issue and I can't even log in. It is not the same Blizzard and Diablo III it's not the same franchise any more. Sorry. But I'm out.

May 20, 2012A typical Blizzard game. This game was hyped so much that it was obvious it would be disappointing in many points. Skills, Story, Graphics, all acceptable nut not nearly as epic as you might think when you look at press' ratings. I would rate it about 83/100, but the server situation, online restriction and Blizzard politics do not deserve even 1 point.
-
May 20, 2012Game is good, but the need for constant internet connection while playing single player game is seriously fouled up. I've been kicked out from quests in the middle because connection went fubar and now I can't play, because servers are having MAINTENANCE, and that, pretty please, ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

May 20, 2012This game is more similar to WOW than Diablo 1/2; this game is simply an R rated version of WOW. Everything that i loved about D2 is gone: no skills points, no class builds, no offline version and no players 8 command. This game is simply terrible because so much of the game has been taken from WOW, and i hate WOW.

May 20, 2012Game itself is great, unfortunatly its unplayable due to DRM and bad servers on blizzards side. Atm its been down for 5 hours on sunday. No useful eta or information at all.

May 20, 2012Still can´t log into this SINGLE PLAYER GAME after a full week. DONT buy this game. There are lots of great indie games on steam for â
-
May 20, 2012Beyond the technical issues at launch this game is just boring. I wasn't expecting a revolution in this game, just more of an evolution. This game is sadly disappointing. The gameplay is repetitive and boring, and there is no real sense of atmosphere as every zone seems the same. I got this for free with the WoW annual pass, and I would have been mad had I spent money on this game.

May 20, 2012Unplayable connections, low graphics and ridiculous leveling system make this game sickening. Blizzard has lost a customer for life. No more. The DRM systems fails on every level and so has Blizzard.
-
May 20, 2012very good game but ERROR 37 for 60â
-
May 20, 2012Okay, this should've been a Single Player Game. This is no MMO. You should've given us the choice to choose between off-/online. Now I have a game, which is no MMO, and I can't play it, because you MMO experts (WoW) can't handle your servers. This makes me regret the purchase so much. Truly sad.

May 20, 2012The curious case of Diablo 3. Often it doesn't even works. When it works, it's not that great. Other games, they say "more of the same". Diablo, the say "Hey it's Diablo". No. It's less of the same.
Born old. -
May 20, 2012I can hardly connect to the game, and when I can I just experience insane lags... The game is unplayable..even is solo, because of the need ot be online in order to play the game...
-
May 20, 2012Being constantly online for a solo game? You are kidding... When the servers are down you can't even do a solo game.. what a joke blizzard............

May 20, 2012Barb is Sonic the Super Saiyan, I will never play game that is so simplified that it takes me for a retard. Automatic Attributes, Skills, now even Runes you unlock automatically, I dont see a reason why does it just play automatically and you just watch... Stupid game big disappointment. I dont like new plastic fancy fairy tale design, diablo is about gothic-demons-gore
-
May 20, 2012There is no sense of direction in diablo. Blues are as good as legendaries, bosses are as easy as elite packs, blacksmithing is useless, community is isolated, classes aren't balanced, elite packs are broken, auction house is a grind, graphics hurt my eyeballz, monster scaling is lazy. No mention of lag because that's the least of my complaints.

May 20, 2012I can't decide which is the worst, the corny / **** dialogue, the boring gameplay, the boring items, or the fact that the games story plays out like a **** cliche marvel movie that put all its budget into special effects. They seriously ruined the best game franchise of all time, and they did it with flying **** colors.
-
May 20, 2012Fellow Diabloers, my warm heart goes out to you. For we cannot be one when this game is such a poor connection. Could blizzard please show mercey? Us gamers cannot be in the diablo realm when the story is so poor, and the graphics are so bad!!! Oh, Blizzard! Have merceeeeeeeey!!!!!!

May 21, 2012This game is almost perfect but you need the succeed to pass through the error 37 that is hard like inferno mod!
When this issue will be fixed (this one and the Achievement validation one), the game will be perfect!

Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
-
Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
