May 16, 2012There is no cow level. Blizzard could do better. I only wanted the cow level. And there is no cow level. Very bad game. Huge disappointment. I was gonna kill some cows and there are no cows in diablo 3. How could they release it without cows?

Sep 10, 2014This is one of the worst games in the last decade. To give you an idea how broken Metacritic review system is: Over 5 thousand people logged into this site to warn you how bad this game is and that doesn't effect the "Metascore" at all. Instead it is currently rated 88 with only 1 negative review, Metascore is a separate reality. I would suggest ignoring it and reading user reviews.`

May 16, 2012so i have to connect b.net to play friends sitting next to me. no lan support is a joke.
unoriginal game dumbed down hack&slash game, wannabe guild wars 2
outshined by its contemporaries like torchlight
blizzard should trust diablo fans to buy original game instead of trying to skin off 10yo kids pockets
fail. -

May 16, 2012Elitism, absurd hardware specs to run a game at his "full potential", DRM, poor game design and many other issues have almost killed pc gaming. Why should i bother about Diablo 3 when i can get Dark Souls on console?

May 16, 2012Rename the game to World of Warcraft Battlefield Edition and we're set. This game has almost nothing to do with Diablo 1&2 which is a shame... Fans voiced their opinions about this since the first presentations, they made the game for profit not for their fans.
-
May 16, 2012The same game from 12 years ago, but now you have to deal with the unreliability of the Blizzard servers. If you can get over that the game is one dimensional without any choices along the way besides for run or charge...

May 16, 2012Internet connection to play single player mode????? NO. NO. NO.
If I give you $60 to play your game, I should not have to go online to play it single player.
I do not care about Blizzards 'online economy.' Allow me to opt out of using your economy if I just want to play single player.
NO. NO. NO. -
May 16, 2012watered down diablo 2 gameplay with prettier graphics. of course, those complaints only apply if you've managed to authenticate with blizzard to play your supposed single player game. but i guess running a real world money auction house for easy profit is much more important than being able to actually play my single player game.

May 16, 2012This game was a massive disappointment. Terrible service from Blizzard, laggy servers, and server shutdowns. Booted out of standard edition because of a "transaction error". Money was not refunded. My excitement regarding this game has hit a rock-bottom. Congratulations Blizzard.

Jun 2, 2012It's the first time in my life I can barely play a single player game because of lag. It's ridiculous. Don't fear rare enemies or million HP bosses. Your unconditional heroes will be victims of lag spikes and you will be unable to avoid them. This is one of the worse game launches I've seen. Ever.
-
May 16, 2012Terrible game. Awful connection problems have ruined this launch. They should have put more effort into reviving this title. You have got to get launches right!

May 16, 2012No offline mode, errors galore... If this is the future of gaming I'm going to start building model airplanes instead. Torchlight 2 looks 10x better at 1/3 the price.

May 16, 2012I wish I could play and give a decent score, but paying 60$ for a SINGLE-player game and not being able to play it deserves 0. So many errors, can't log-in, can't play, a huge disappointment!!! It is a huge release and Blizzard should be able to estimate the amount of players, server capacity etc!! Returning the game to Amazon with no intentions to buy it in the future.

May 16, 2012got a 'starter key' from a friend. downloaded it and got stuck in 'updating setup files'. fixed it after an hour and then got a 'corrupted data' when the installer ran. started the downloader again and it started from 5% to download the whole game again. i'm so happy that i did not waste 60 bucks on that piece of ****.

May 16, 2012A clone of Diablo 2 (which was a clone of Diablo I), fun to click for a few minutes and then just gets old. I'll probably only play this game for like 100 hours and love it. 0/10.

May 16, 2012I bet this would be a great game. However it is currently unplayable. Disconnects every 10 minutes forcing me to replay the same area again. Blizzard you screwed the pooch on this one. If you are going ot require online play you had better be 100% sure that your can handle it.
-
May 16, 2012Can't play a single player game because a server is down. That's just not right. When I can play it's kinda boring. Wait for the price to drop to $10 in a few months (because it will) before buying. Not even close to worth $60.
-
May 16, 2012Been waiting a long time for D3. Waited a long time to download it. 3 minutes in and I was already hugely disappointed. This is 2012 but the game looks worse than D2. Graphics are crap, way too linear and movement is horrible. Sorry Blizz but can't see myself completing this one. You had a lot of time to get it right and, in my opinion anyway, you completely missed the board.
-
May 16, 2012Like many others my story isn't new, I just wanted to contribute my share of dissatisfaction and warn those that wanted to buy just because it is Diablo3.

May 29, 2012Sluggish average ARPG. DRM and connectivity aside, I simply do not like the game at its core. Vaguely mimics the other Diablo's, but doesn't feel in any way like them. I would recommend Titan's quest over this lack luster. You may like the game shortly if you've never played an ARPG, but its the worst one to start with.
-
May 16, 2012Diablo III, because the whole world has broadband right? It's ridiculous that I just paid 60 dollar for a product that is unplayable, I'd try to get my money back but I know they'd never do it. So i'm out 60 dollars because a game that previously featured offline gameplay decided that we shouldn't include that this time. Buyer beware, greed is a terrible thing. Enjoy your auction house.

May 16, 2012Getting constantly kicked out of my game because of server outages... there is absolutely no excuse for online-only single player. This game is a joke.
-
May 16, 2012I have attempted to play about 3 dozen times since yesterday around noon and have only been able to play for about 3 minutes. I never played diablo 1 or 2 online... I want to be able to play without hoping that blizzard has their servers up or my internet connection stays consistent.
-
May 16, 2012a souless game where all game design decisions were made not to create a great game, but to make money on auction house transactions. severely dissapointing.
-
May 16, 2012It might be fun... too bad I can't log in to play my $60 game and find out. I understand if the servers were packed and I couldn't do multiplayer on the first day or two, but I can't even play the solo campaign. What a disappointment :(
-
May 16, 2012I feel like I have to jump on the haters bandwagon. Seriously, I still cannot logon to play this stupid game. All the official reviewers are sucking from Blizzards **** Avoid avoid avoid. Torchlight 2 baby!!

May 16, 2012This is perhaps the first time that I have ever purchased a game that literally is broken. I played maybe 10 minutes and I have been kicked out. Quite honestly feel as if Blizzard has stolen my 60 bucks by given me a sweet log in page that goes nowhere, really disappointing.

May 16, 2012I'm just scoring low so hopefully Blizzard will wake up and realize that no one likes DRM, and no one wants 10 expansions until they make the next one...

May 16, 2012We wait 12 years in order to experience amateur hour in the launch of their Flagship game. Blizzard was a game company whose name was once a symbol of quality. What a complete disappointment and shame.

May 16, 2012Activision Blizzard has failed to design their game properly.
If you can get past the flaws of the game (legalized gold selling via their auction house, etc) -- there's the hard fact that their servers have to be up for me to play the game -- even in single player.
I'm asking for a refund. If I don't get one, I'm denying the charges to my credit card. Goodbye, Bliz. -
May 16, 2012This game won't have an offline mode, which means it's no different from an mmorpg like WoW. You might as well call it World of Diablo. Obvious intent from Blizzard to milk their fanbase. Dark Souls PC edition is a much better game.
-
May 16, 2012I'm so pissed & dissapointed that i don't know what to say.. not recommended for those whom wanting to acquire it.. I'd rather play D2.. what a waste..

May 16, 2012Graphics are terrible, ridiculous to think that it took 10+ years for this complete and utter pile of garbage. Blizzards motto to "release when its ready" is clearly broken with this game. Half of it is already missing as it is! Customization is nonexistent. FATE a free game that came on my computer is better than this. Spell effects look like they are straight out of the 1990's.
-
May 16, 2012They ruined the game with the online DRM. There are just too many things that can go wrong - internet connection, server availability, lagging - and they go wrong. Once paid for and installed a "solo playable' game as a bare minimum I expect to be able to play it anytime and anywhere. Blizzard broke it badly.
-
May 16, 2012
-
May 16, 2012Constantly online DRM is a horrible choice.
Servers have been unreliable and single player has been laggy.
Blizzard has done a great job of gaining the confidence and respect of gamers for year, it will be a shame to see that lost. -

May 16, 2012The requirement of internet connection to play at all would've been fine had the servers did not disconnect or go down. Can barely play a long session without a server error. Bitterly disappointed and frustrated with what looks like a really fun game - too bad I can't have sustained game play. Shame Activision. Shame Blizzard.
-
May 16, 2012requiring internet dependence was a poor judgement call. poor planning. so disgusted, i went out of my way to sign up here and get the point across. it's sad. it's almost as bad as crowding on wow launch, but worse. what happened to a game working out of the box?
-
May 16, 2012Ugh! Total ripoff....gameplay is decent but completely irrelevant because you can't play offline. I am often in locations with my laptop WHERE I DON'T HAVE INTERNET!
Blizzard had 11-12 years to get this right, and they chose to screw it up with a DRM scheme that punishes the paying customers. FAIL!!!! -

May 16, 2012Diablo 3 is so boring you would have more fun at a bingo hall. Also the connection problems at launch are awful and show how incompetent Blizzard is. The graphics in game are also not close to what a Diablo game should look like
-
May 16, 2012Angry enough to finally sign up for a metacritic account and post.
I am always online. It is Blizzard who is not online. The game is completely unplayable with those hiccups.
Torchlight 2 - Come out soon so I can play with you without so many headaches.
Returning the copy to the store - cannot play game. Might try it again later.
Suppose artwork on login screen was nice. -
May 16, 2012Wow. I just can't believe how blizzard has fallen so far from grace. I used to buy all their games, starting with the original warcraft. I think they've been in mmo-land for so long they don't even remember what made the original diablos great in the first place.
Goodbye blizzard, it was good while it lasted. -
May 16, 2012Des mise à jours à gogo, on sait quand ça commence, mais on ne sait jamais quand cela fini ! Bravo Blizzard, aucun support, rien du tout. Et bien sur on paye pour ça !

May 16, 2012Good Sound track..... that's bout it.heck, not even THAT great of a soundtrack. The graphics look pretty, but all this is, is a cross between WoW and Starcraft 2, that I can't even play because it won't let me log into the game. For the last two days, since it launched, I have been trying constantly to get on, and have succeeded for a grand total of 1 hour of game play. Go Blizzard...

May 17, 2012Not only did Blizzard need 10 years to make this sub-par game, they have made it with MMO's in mind and moved it away from the "true way"of hack'n slash. There is so much info out on this game I feel no need to explain. Everything about it is just wrong. I really hope the way many fans react to this game/launch will teach Blizzard and the gaming industry something.
-
May 17, 2012Comment peut-on demander une connection permanente a un jeu solo ?! Ceci est tout juste une arnaque,2 jours que j'essaye de me connecter et je n'arrive toujours pas à lancer le jeu!

May 17, 2012Thank you to all the BETA Testers that paid to help Blizturd beta test this piece of crap. Hopefully in 4-6 months yall will be able to play. I dont buy Blizturd games anymore, I learned my lesson many years ago.

May 17, 2012This game sucks because of the DRM and no LAN. I don't give a **** about the failed launch. I will probably just pirate and forget it. It's a shame really, compared to D2...

May 17, 2012The game is unplayable because the online stuff does not work despite me having a broadband internet access. Up until now I was a satisfied customer of Blizzard but this is a big disappointment.

Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]

Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
