May 15, 2012Ok, I actually signed up for Metacritic just to post my score on how horrible this game is. Avoid at all cost. Not even worth playing if it were $5.
-
May 15, 2012Yes, they deserve it. That's the short answer. The long answer is gonna take me a whole day to write. Even metacritic's 5000 characters limit reviews won't be enough. Diablo III was just a huge series of disappointments.
-
May 15, 2012I hate to give a 0 score to Diablo III, graphics are great, weapons are awesome and a lot of great cinematics. BUT! no offline mode. Seems like it's just Diablo II revamped. Mainly servers keep crashing => if it's online only then have it working before the release! I bought a game now that I can't use when I want then the question is what did I pay for?
-
May 15, 2012Two nights in a row of trying to log on. Any failure of this magnitude would utterly destroy another game, but since its got the Diablo name, people keep "trusting" that blizzard will deliver. Blizzard is owned by Activision folks. You can't rely on them to deliver anything but something to please the Activision stockholders.
-
May 15, 2012I hope metacritic are not gonna remove these reviews and alter the scores because they get paid by Blizzard for ads. Because this game and Blizzard truly deserve this slap in the face from the community.
-
May 15, 2012They destroyed the game and you cant even play singleplayer cause the servers down. The graphics is really bad. I cant belive this is what they deliver after all that wait.
-
May 15, 2012Good job Blizzard, your servers are down on launch day. How did you know that I like to buy a game and not play it at all? All my dreams have come true.

May 15, 2012This game is too hard. I can't even get past the first login level. Just when I think I've cleared it by beating the Error 37 boss, the Error 75 boss and the Error 3003 boss tag-team me. :(

May 15, 2012Disappointing & pathetic "launch". Make an offline-mode available and things may be better, but as-is ... it's an embarassment to Blizzard. They should be ashamed of their 'best effort'. It's a joke, especially after years and years of "testing". Just give me my pre-order money back Blizzard and all is forgiven.

-
May 15, 2012I wouldn't mind the DRM if it was actually working... Worst launch ever. Really disappointed. The game itself seems ok, but not great. These guy ruined one of the most enjoyable and profitable franchise of all time.
-
May 15, 2012A huge disappointment, no more skill points to distribute, no more attribute points to distribute, skills unlock automatically as you level up, WoW inspired skills. World PvP removed and the only PvP options is a WoW-clone arena. At the moment it seems I've spent $60 for a wow-clone I can't even play....
-
May 15, 2012This is a single player game. It should not require a server to play. When the servers fail, I cannot play. There is no point to this. It would work fine if there was no client server model. I want my money back.
-
May 15, 2012No offline mode. Servers can't stay up. Activision has destroyed everything that was previously good about Blizzard. Stay away unless you want to be disappointed.
-
May 15, 2012Worst thing Blizzard could have done, this game would be really cool if I could play it. The videos look really cool, but all I get is a chance to practice my typing over and over again as my login attempts get rejected by Blizzard's anemic battle.net. Good news, I am adjusting to my new keyboard, so THANKS, BLIZZ!
-
May 15, 2012y u no have better severs?
#Error37
This game isn't all that great. Blizzard not support servers for paying customers is like robbing Helen Keller. -
May 15, 2012Guess what? Bought the game, can't **** play it. Don't know if its good or not, so I'll just give it a 0. Blizzard needs to mature as a company.
-
May 15, 2012It looks like a great game, well polished, good graphics, good play style, and good skills.
However, all of that means nothing if you cannot play. Blizzard clearly lost their way once they saw all the preorders come in. Why work when you have all your money up front right? -

May 15, 2012The DRM is in this game is inexcusable. This launch was a total sham and the fact that they unnecessarily forced single player online is despicable and fueled by pure greed. Activision has ruined a once great game company.
Graphics are outdated.
Music is decent..
Gameplay is a letdown... Not being able to scroll through the skills on the right click is very annoying. -

-
May 15, 2012My first review gave this game one point because it is technically a game. In fact, I'd like to take that point away. This is not a game. It's a scam.
-

-
May 15, 2012I have to agree with 98% of the reviews. Blizzard crashed and burned hard. I'd hate to see an expansion pack for this game. Waste another $60 bucks, still cant play online, still cant play single player. I'd assume go back to Runescape than give this game any credit for being even the slightest bit better.

May 15, 2012Use 10 yrs plus to develop and 2 yrs to polish and turn out having bunch of bugs! The content are not long enough since already been develop for so long and delay alot.. Anywhere there is a good replay value but this is not enough! Beside having DRM feature which require player to keep online are really annoying and we are not able to play when you having so many bugs!!!
-
May 15, 2012Day one of the Diablo 3 launch and the US servers went down. They're looking into it. Blizzard of all companies should not be having this sort of problem.
-
May 29, 2012Even ignoring the atrocious status of the servers, making it impossible to play two weeks after release, the game is unoriginal. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid game, but they took Diablo 2, gutted the skill system slapped on new graphics and failed to deliver on basically any of their extravagant pre-release promises.
-
May 15, 2012Just bought the game, installed it, and I can't play, servers down. I have never played the game. I paid 60 dollars of hard earned cash for it. We, as gamers, need to not support this crap. To you people defending Blizzard, please think about it. Is this the direction that you want single player gaming to go? Unimaginable. Blizzard has officially jumped the shark.

-
May 15, 2012I really enjoyed my time on Diablo 3 for the few minutes i was able to play. Sorry blizzard i like your game but you absolutely ruined my day. This sounds ridiculous with no other explanation but i don't have to justify anything.
-
May 15, 2012Always-online DRM is garbage.
It adds no value to the game, and the botched launch clearly illustrates why we cannot trust it.
Demand offline/LAN play. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 201260 dollars for a broken log-in screen. Blizzard knows what kind of hardware they need to keep the servers up but simply chose to save money and wait for server populations to settle. I have always been weary about this kind of always online DRM but chose to forego my better judgement and purchase the game anyways. Keep this kind of DRM out of single-player games.

May 15, 2012I made an account just so i could give this game a 0. I might have fun later, but these first days have been a nightmare for me. I can't have fun so this game falls in the fail category for me.
-
May 15, 2012My score will remain 0 till server are stable. With all the server down time how can anybody give a proper review. Fix your servers Blizz staff. This launch is was horrible.

May 15, 2012It doesn't much matter what's in the game if the company requires a persistent internet connection to play it, and they can't manage to keep their servers up on launch day. I hope everyone at Blizzard is ashamed.

May 15, 2012Bad bad servers. No such a good connection, failure on launch...lways online DRM, -Lack of skill diversity, -Connection errors, -Play to win, -Short story. This game is a step back from Diablo 2, so I recommend avoiding it.

-
May 15, 2012A classic, solid hack n slash with great graphics.
Too bad it's unplayable due to some executive decision to not allow a single player version of the game be able to run without CONSTANT internet access.
Having to log in at the start to do an initial check is fine, but this is ridiculous.
Last Blizzard product I'm ever buying. -

May 16, 2012Good game, but simply stunned that the game hasn't started working for me until 24 hours after launch... Error 37, 33, 3003, time out issues, and connection resets.... ALWAYS ONLINE DRM SUCKS!
-
May 16, 2012
-
May 15, 2012The first test of a game is being able to play it. Diablo 3 has utterly failed this very simple test. Say what you will about other company's DRM schemes, for blizzard to require an pointless internet connection and then not even have enough servers to support it is serious armature hour game design.

May 15, 2012I'm deeply dissapoited by the **** DRM they implemented and boring gameplay. Let the developers and publishers themselves burn in hell forever! **** Blizzard!
-
May 15, 2012As a single player game,it require network connection and it lag a lot.
By the wayï¼ -
May 15, 2012Very fun game. Once I got rare drop: 3 pages of "License Agreement". But I can't beat final boss "Retrieving hero list" at all. Any suggestions anyone?
-
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012I haven't had any connectivity issues so that is good. But the actual gameplay is so boring, graphics looks like it was from 2005. The game is basically about mindlessly walking a linear path and spamming the mouse button to kill enemies. Avoid.
-
May 16, 2012If you want to maintain your image as a game company, it's typically advisable to make sure people can play your game after they've bought it. It also helps to make sure the game doesn't suck, especially if it's a well known and liked series. Blizzard couldn't have gotten at least one of these right?
-
May 16, 2012This game is actually relatively BAD i expected great things from blizzard with this game but with DRM and no offline and no customization this game tanks it i really do regret purchasing it and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone
-
May 16, 2012What garbage. Paid for the game and haven't even been able to play it yet. Error 37 out the ass. This **** DRM's going to be cracked in 2 weeks, tops, so what's the point?
-
May 16, 2012I have had none of the massive connection problems that the majority of people are experiencing... unfortunately. This has to be the worst game I have played this year, over priced, over simplified and over hyped. A must avoid. I will be avoiding all future activision products as all their producers seem to be developing for the kiddie market share.

May 16, 2012This game is a piece of **** Remember everything fun about Diablo 2?
This game has none of it.
If you haven't bought it yet, do yourself a favour and don't. Buy Skyrim if you don't have it already. -
May 16, 2012The always-on DRM is reason enough to give this game a 0/10. It is an act of unfettered agression against their fans. The game itself is pretty good, so it gets a bump to 2/10
-
May 16, 2012I have to give a 0 to a game that is so bad as this one. SUCKS! Not even as good as the first game in the series, and server issues are a joke. Hello?
-
May 16, 2012Blizzard: We don't release games till there finished... But we'll take your money before they are! Lol jokes on us I guess. Oh well guess I'll go back to Diablo 3 connection page for a couple of hours. ; )

May 16, 2012The games cinematics for when they exist are awesome and Leah is hot. DRM is fine no issues there. The game has no PVP though and clearly is WoW as you can see it has a WoW login screen and banners are straight from WoW. 0/10 missing PVP which stops me from showing my skillz.

May 16, 2012The game was blatantly put together as a quick cash machine for a well known franchise.

Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
-
Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
