    I literally had to make an account just to leave a review on this game. It's **** It is. Blizzard just took their beloved 20-year-old game and turned it into ****. There are little changes.     There are little changes. They claim there are little of them to preserve the original look of the game, it would seem to be nice and all if the game wasn't that bad. I mean, like, not the diablo 2 itself, but the resurrected version of it. You always need an online connection to play this game. And guess what? The servers are pure **** There are down half of the times, the other half of the times there are any type of login problems. Hey! You made it! You've logged in! Now it's time to play the game, yes? Well, no. You gonna play it for an hour, or two, or three. Or unless the servers will be down once again. And when you eventually (in a couple of hours) log back, you will have nothing. No character, no progress, nothing. Because the servers are **** and there was a rollback and now your character is gone.

    If you want to play the game, just pirate it. I mean it. Or play the original diablo 2. Oh. wait, they removed the original game from the store. Well, time to pirate it too.    … Expand

    Game is well designed game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision and it shows.
    Their servers are going down every couple of hours, rollbacks and even reports of missing characters.
    Dont waste money on this, just use Pluggy

    It is currently unplayable. Yeah i understand there are server issues but right now the server issues are causing characters to lose progress and ITEMS BEING DELETED FROM YOUR INVENTORY/STASH.
    Did a bunch of farming servers go down and when I log back in runes I found a couple of days prior are gone, inventory is rearranged. FIX THIS GARBAGE

    Gameplay is not terrible, however there's always server issues and lag. I've lost characters and progress to this now. Essentially it's impossible to play until Blizzard actually decides to care and make an effort to fix their servers but that will never happen so this game just can't be recommended. Sigh.

    - Each weekend troubles with their servers - you cannot normally play peer to peer, so you need to wait till they fix it

    Сервера не работают с завидной периодичностью!!!! Особенно в выходные дни когда происходит наплыв игроков, и близы только извинятся и могут а толку смысл платить за игру 2-3к если она не РАБОТАЕТ!

    Мдям-с. Ремастер можно было бы даже назвать неплохим. С натяжкой. Если бы в него можно было бы поиграть. Возможно, когда нибудь это произойдет, но пока у руля жадные 3,14дарасы будет вот так.

    Generally not working. Disconnects, item rollbacks every day. The game crashes every two hours at least. UI slow and laggy. Problems persist for three weeks and nobody cares. Weekend playtime is like zero because servers are constantly down.

    Hate it, I loved the original but this remake has too many flaws to count. I just bought this game TWO DAYS AGO and played for two hours all because the server. For example I waited all morning, couldn’t get on. After two hours I got on than was kicked and I can’t get back on again. This game is trash

    Despite some minor bug this is a worthy remaster, however this is not the re-imagining or re-balance some people expected.
    The graphics are beautiful and faithful to the original, I would give this a 10 if there weren't a few annoying bugs many days after the initial release.

    I am so split on writing this review. On the one hand, my nostalgia is real for this game. I love the updated graphics and the game plays almost identically to the original. No problem. A+. However, I've experienced several game crashes and constant Battle.net server issues. As in some times I can't play the 20 year old game that I paid $40 for. This is unacceptable.     It feels more like a rushed beta as: - The game crashes constantly - Servers are constantly down - Characters disappear or cannot login - Chat doesn't work - Blocking spambots doesn't work - Ladder doesn't work (yet) - Its quite pricy for just a    Played a lot D2 in the past and also now Resurrected.     There's so much broken at the moment that I can not recommend this at all.

    The game without bug is realy nice.... But so many bug for an old game... Server are frequently down in the weekend when people can play, that is so anoying.... So i'll give a 2/10 because activision ruined Blizzard and we have no good tech support on each remastered game (WoW and D2)

    Blizzard does not provide refunds for bugged games. My level 36 character is missing. On my ssd, the game loads it 100%. The game starts in 5 minutes. The support team is sent to the forum to resolve issues. I will certainly survive this, and the company has become a slop.

    Game is incredible. The quality of this remastered version is astonishing. They really payed attention to the details. Don't mind the crying pseudo-moral anti-blizzard folk, enjoy the game :)

    Don't get me wrong, Diablo 2 is a masterpiece but it is not like it disapeared all of a sudden, it is still very alive and playable. As such I would have liked Vicarious Visions to try and spice things up a little making the game more modern in some aspects and try and alleviate the flaws of the original product.

    Act 3 is still teh same shore, mana early game is as bad as it always was forcing you to fill your inventory with mana pots, well all the flaws are still here.

    Graphically, it is amazing and looks great sadly it does play like the 21 years old game Diablo 2 is. A missed opportunity in my book.

    Still I very much enjoy replaying Diablo 2 but it is worth it only for fans of the game, new comers should look el;sewhere (Grim Dawn, PoE, Last Epoch) as it is rough, a diamond nontheless, Diablo 2 is still a masterpiece but it is clearly a remaster and not a remake.    … Expand

    Knowing that you can lose all your progress out of the blue is effectively making this game unplayable, and I'm lowering my score to the lowest possible amount to reflect my dissatisfaction.

    Original review:

    True to the original, in a bad way.

    Diablo II was great back in the days, but gaming has evolved a lot since then and some concepts have since been abandoned for a reason. Blizzard had the chance here to make some great and well needed gameplay improvements to make the game live up to today's standards, but instead chose to cater to all the whiny fanboys out there who start crying the moment something isn't exactly the way it used to be.

    Here are a few annoyances:

    1. The inventory is ridiculously tiny. With no way of expanding it, you're forced to either skip most of the loot you find or teleport back and forth to town extremely often.

    2. Ranged ammunition is expendable, and a single stack of arrows/bolts take up roughly 10% of your total inventory space.

    3. Potions are single use and each take up one slot in your inventory. There's also no way to move potions automatically from the inventory to your belt (where they must be in order to use a hotkey for them), so you have to move them manually, one by one.

    4. Stamina is limited and runs out very quickly, forcing you to walk at a snail's pace while it slowly recharges.

    5. Gamepad controls are subpar. Diablo 3 worked great with a controller, but in this game, you're forced into using a cursor that you move around with the thumbstick. Considering the amount of inventory management in this game, this is a major issue.

    6. You drop all your gear when you die. Unless you're keeping an extra set of equipment in your inventory or stash for these occasions, you'll have to fight any enemies you encounter during your corpse run in the nude.

    Every single one of my gripes about Diablo II: Resurrected are a matter of gameplay mechanics that should have been improved but haven't. If they'd just given us a bigger inventory, unlimited stamina and ammunition and some slightly better gamepad controls, this would've been a great remaster. Now, it's highly mediocre and I find myself lacking the motivation to continue playing.    … Expand

    Play for an hour, get disconnected, re-connect, re-discover the same path again, hoping not to get disconnected before you find the waypoint. Beta quality.
    Updated Oct 9: and yet again, after a 2-3 hour session, when I took a break to logout, I had lost all progress and loot for that session. Still beta quality!

    I myself had concerns about some of the art direction, but that all washed away once i started playing. There are still a few bugs and issues but they are very minor and I trust them to fix the issues in the next couple months. Items don't identify in the cube, the merc screen is not accurate. Mostly just the lobby system needs a more modern update to be able to quickly identify and join the right kinds of games.    … Expand

    The server issues are however weigh down heavily on this game. If you create an online-character, you cant play the game (even solo).     Blizzard gives you no ETA when things will be resolved either. Feel like playing the game you paid for on a saturday? Well, to bad cause Blizzard decided to do a maintance fix...
    There is no legit reason why you should'nt be able to play the game SOLO with your online character and then just post the progress to the server when they have resolved whatever issue you had. It would be bad enough that you cant play with friends online when they have issues, but that you cant even play solo with an online character when there is a server issue in this game is just unacceptable. Hence the low score... If you buy this and create an online character - you are at the mercy of the blizzard IT team which seem to be far from capable of keeping it running smoothly.    … Expand

    The game is unstable for me and I keep getting locked out from my barbarian. Aside from that frustration I also dislike the weird censorship they've done throughout the game. Why censor skin yet leave all the blood and gore? Its bizarre to me. Feels like I'm being treated like a toddler or something.

    Absolutely incredible. Its annoying seeing all these racist and sexist incels getting to trash the game and give it a 0 of ridiculous things that have nothing to do with the game itself. Vicarious and Blizzard perfectly revitalized a classic masterpiece and its better than ever.

    Stay awhile and listen..I couldn't ask for better remaster..all the whining kids who can't play old hardcore games giving 0/10 here should get banned :) Worth every penny..so far 86 hrs played..and counting ;)

    Vicarious Visions also decided to take the money from them over morality, so they should be avoided going forward as well.

    Reading the negative reviews for this game is just embarrassing. Its sad that this game is getting absolutely bombed by fools and sexual inebriates. Like... people are seriously upset about breast size and females not being "attractive" enough... its crazy. I really hope Diablo IV is like this game rather than Diablo III, because I find this game so much more appealing from both gameplay and aesthetic perspectives. Also this game runs very well, I've played through the campaign with 2 characters and have hardly encountered any bugs (like 2).

    I can see newcomers not enjying this game because the gameplay/mechanics feel outdated, but this game is a remaster, not a remake... so its to be expected. I'm having an absolute blast playing this game. Vicarious Visions did an outstanding job!    … Expand

    And DO NOT tell me that this is only remaster, not remake - price is AAA game and only price define value of the product, not useless PR quotes. This is 2021, and you are one of biggest game dev on the world - how is it possible to release this kind of product in such condition?! This is an outrage.

The revamped graphics and controller support works smoothly without issues. I was a diehard D1-3 player, and quit due to D2 just lacked the glamour with current games now.     It is not worth $79 NZD. There is nothing that this remaster provides that you cant get from mods. Maybe not the level of graphics but the disparity between the mods and this remaster is not enough for a AAA price. If graphics is that important to you then by all means dump money into this but I advise you to reconsider and just buy the original if you truly want to play this game.

    The Gameplay is fine and of course a bit more refined but once again now that we have this remaster, the modding community will easily give an alternative. It's much better to save your money and watch a couple of modding tutorials.

    I see a lot of people complaining about the censorship that the female cast has gone through and I completely understand their frustrations. There is nothing realistic about this game. There are all sorts of magic that the characters use that break the rules of reality yet they draw the line on attractive women. Girls love sexy guys and guys love sexy girls. This will not change. The devs need to realise that the majority of the player base is, unfortunately, boys that ooze over attractive women. They are ultimately hurting their bottom line with this. Resident Evil 8 proves how profitable sex appeal is in video games and Blizzard would love to see that kind of revenue.

    I only give this game a four because Diablo II is a great game and for me, this was a very optimised release. Although I do regret buying this game and would never buy another Diablo remaster, (mainly cause I don't feel comfortable support this developer), I couldn't speak honestly on it without buying the game.

Checked the tech support forums and found out I was one of thousands of paying customers in the exact same situation. Despite being able to play nearly any other game on the planet on my "underspecced" machine, and having zero issues playing the betas, I was now locked out of playing due to a hardware requirement. Worse is the total lack of communication from Blizzard on this matter. There has been no word in 2 days from anyone. The last post from their community manager essentially blamed everyone with this issue for trying to play with machines that don't meet minimum specs, but that they will try to fix it for us, all while posting celebratory pictures of a "perfect launch" on Twitter. Not impressed, Blizzard.

    Update: The AVX issue was finally fixed, 12 days after launch. I am thoroughly enjoying the nostalgia of replaying this classic without the cringe associated with the original's dated graphics. I have upgraded my review score accordingly.    … Expand

Ещё все теперь старпёры, хотя в D3 та же Волшебница видно, что умерла молодой сразу после окончания D2.
    Во-вторых, проблемы с онлайном, пропажей персонажей и предметов, а также нестабильный пинг - позорище.
    В-третьих, повсюду распихали идиотскую цензуру: то тела удалили, то крови меньше сделали, то тряпками закрыли зады демонов, то диалоги забавные удалили у НПС, то обвесили женщин одеждой и латами, а Варвар опять бегает полуголым в коричневой юбке. Вот ЗАЧЕМ вы пихаете этот бред в старые игры?! Вы и так поганите новые игры! Оставьте старые хоть в покое, изверги!!! Вы должны были сделать тупо красивую графику, наподобие SCR, зачем стилистику игры трогали? Не нравится юмор и фановые вещи? Так удаляйте коровий уровень! Удаляйте всех падших, которые больше смешат, чем пугают! Я просто в шоке от этой тупости. Тёмное фэнтези в D2 было КРУТЫМ, а сейчас в D2R все герои похожи на унылых старых бичей, как будто D2R для пенсионеров и феминисток, а не для фанатов.
    В-четвёртых, они ещё испоганили старую графику D2, которая на G: там 5 ФПС, всё пиксельное и в маленьком окне. Я спецом открыл D2 и там всё нормально: при разрешении 800х600 игра растягивается на весь экран, графика достаточно чёткая, потому что рисованная и в изометрии, играется плавно. В нормальной Диабло 2, кстати, очень легко увидеть, что зацензурили, а что испоганили в ремастере. Я хз, как они это сделали, видимо, чтобы на фоне ремастера оригинал смотрелся намного хуже.

    Из плюсов я отметил бы графику и спецэффекты, перерисовку вещей, а также новые модельки для легендарок и зелёнок. Но за то, что они извратили оригинальный стиль, я их никогда не прощу! И почему Акт IV не доделали до конца? Наверное, это время тратили на цензуру и уродование персов. Ничего нового в игру не добавили, хотя могли бы сделать квесты в духе D1: (Автоподбор золота и расширенный сундук не в счёт, это банальные мелочи, а сундук могли бы расширить ещё больше, как в D3, или чтобы можно было покупать вкладки за золото).

    P.S. Что забавно, один из дизайнеров ремастера недавно выложил пост в Твиттере, где он показал Амазонку для D2R. И там у неё красивое и молодое лицо... Я просто офигел. То есть, дизайнеры для ремастера делали нормальных персов, но их потом специально изуродовали.    … Expand

    It is not the core game or remaster that is bad, but the company attitude, which makes it overpriced nostalgy "scam" type of product instead of a remaster everyone's was waiting for.

    Just as remembered. Can't believe I can play d2 without pain in my eyes. Can't believe it looked so bad, when I tried d2r first time, this was exactly how i was remembering it. How cool it is how imagination works. Outstanding job truly, some quality of life things could be added, but, damn, I live it!!!

    The game is still great and even better with the small QoL improvement like the increased stash or not getting closed out from cow king. I have not had any mayor problems playing. Graphics are absolutely beautiful. Complainers armada cant drown out the quality of the work put into this game.

Other complaints are from whackjobs who expected a fully new experience in a remastered classic video game! They want personal loot, handshake PVP so their feelings don't get hurt when another player kills them, soulbound items, greater rifts, endgame maps, increased drop rates so they're getting a unique drop every few seconds, and more! Well there is already a game out there with this. It's called Diablo 3. So why can't they just go play that instead of trying to ruin the fun for the rest of us with better tastes? Then they come on here and downvote this masterpiece giving it a zero, which is an absolutely ridiculous score for such great work Vicarious Visions put into this game. Arte de personagens infiéis e muito inferiores aos originais, cenários menos macabros e impactantes, animações estranhas, excesso de censura (menos gore, símbolos satânicos, nudez, etc), isso sem contar os inacabaveis bugs ridículos e ausência de coop por lan/offline...Extremamente decepcionado.     I don't understand where comes all this bad and mean reviews. We talk about Diablo II !!! Huh - This is the series, which invented more or less ARPGs. The Remaster is beautiful. The Art is a delight and the "switchin" literally anytime to the old graphics is a Bomb !. I didn't play Diablo II back then, but I play it now and I LOVE to play and the Virus hit me already.....just one more RUN ;-)

    The game is simply amazing. It feels exactly like 20 years ago, plus some quality of life improvements. Usual server issues at the start were quickly resolved, and even though some bugs remain - the overall impression is the complete satisfaction.

    When D2+LoD were new, I only ever cleared Normal before moving on to other games. With Resurrected, I walked through every act of every difficulty as a Hammerdin with a Summonmancer in coop. This game is in serious need of balancing - you will have areas with next to no enemies in them, then enter one with 15+ long-range casters who will kill you before you can react, because you get hitWhen D2+LoD were new, I only ever cleared Normal before moving on to other games. With Resurrected, I walked through every act of every difficulty as a Hammerdin with a Summonmancer in coop. This game is in serious need of balancing - you will have areas with next to no enemies in them, then enter one with 15+ long-range casters who will kill you before you can react, because you get hit by so much at once. When I had my damage aura on, I was oneshotting most enemies (I followed a build), and the Summonmancer I was with (who was also following a guide) was doing next to nothing for the entirety of hell. Some builds just aren't viable for long-term and it's brutal that they didn't have a balancing patch at launch for this.

    I'm on a GTX 1070 and max the game out with 60fps @ 1080p, but whenever I'm in the open areas of Act V, even with no enemies on the screen, I will get around 40fps, even if I lower settings, always the same fps. Seems like a bug. My Summonmancer would have enemies in River of Flame (Act IV area) show up as black boxes rather than enemies, so played through that area with legacy graphics so they could actually see what was going on.

    Drop rates need to be buffed, I'm really not interested in being one of these people who farms for 20 hours without getting anything they're after, and I also don't see how it's fun that you have people who can put in 15 minutes and get godly drops just because the rates for endgame gear being absolutely abysmal and some people getting extremely lucky.

    I played with a controller and it feels superior to M&K (since movement is better and you have more skills available with one button press) except for a few things: One, in general it can be a bit of a pain to target specific items to pickup, so if you're trying for specific pickups before M&K players, good luck. Also sometimes I would just not be able to pick up an item because it was stuck in a wall, so I would either have to switch to mouse for it or have my Summonmancer coop buddy pick it up and trade it to me. The other issue with controller is the interact button prioritizes summons over interacting with other things for some reason, so if you have a bunch of summons on an item, merchant, stash or TP, you won't be able to use them, as hitting the interact button will just move you to the summon. I have no idea why this is the way it is, it feels like a blatant oversight and it would only get more complicated in 8 player games with multiple summon characters. Also you cannot move the map with controller, you can do this with the arrow keys on keyboard but on controller this should be bound to moving right stick.

    The new graphics are amazing, the gameplay is still good enough, but it's rough in a lot of areas and the only reason the game didn't get the overhaul it deserves is because of all the sticks in the mud who would whine and complain about any updates, even though they can always stick to the legacy version if that's what they prefer. Hopefully improvements come moving forward, as-is it's fun but know that you're going to have to deal with some oldschool garbage and not 100% perfect controller support - they thought of most things with controller, but not everything.    … Expand

    My favourite game of all time remastered, I am loving it! Can't wait for the online ladder feature to be released but completely understand they need to make sure it is as bug free and fair before introducing the competitive element.

Геймдизайн развивался с 2000 года и геймдизайнеры не сидели на месте. Особую злость вызвала ценовая политика компании 2000р, или в 40 баксов для тех, кто не в ру-регионе за вот это вот всё. Тот же PoE (path of exile) бесплатный, например. Кроме того, злость вызывает обширная рекламная компания, тут надо было писать опять же "Игра для фанатов Diablo 2 и от фанатов Diablo 2. Остальным проходить мимо. Тут только старые механики, это игра 2000 года, но тут только обновлённая графика и всё." Это было бы честно, но раз предупреждения нет, то Blizzard - ловите свои заслуженные минусы, и не только от меня. За что накинул баллы: один за улучшенную графику, второй за то, что

    This game is so good. The fact that it's not new is why. Sure they might have gotten their hooks into a few things but for the most part it's all here and looks amazing. It's one of the best remakes you will find. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Diablo III was boring to me, whatever I found next was more op than what I had currently. There was no real treasure hunt.

    Эндгейм контента, к сожалению, нет. Весь "фан" для высокоуровневого персонажа состоит в том, что ты спидранишь боссов, убивая их сотни раз. И насколько я знаю, близы не собираются дополнять игру. А жаль.

    Однако знать истоки жанра - важно, так что рекомендую всем фанатам Пое и других подобных игр пройти классику хоть раз.
    PS: нынешний близзард уже врядли имеет прямое отношение к франшизе Диабло, сильно надеюсь, что Дэвид Бревик и братья Шефферы получают прибыль с игры.    … Expand

    C'est inadmissible, les joueurs ont incendiés Warcraft III Reforged pour 10 fois moins que ça.
    J'ai demandé un refound, il est hors de question de laisser ça passer, là ça mérite que la presse enquête sur ce fiasco, c'est pas possible de laisser passer...

    Si ce jeu était un jeu original sorti à 40 balles, il aurait été cloué au pilori et n'aurais pas eu plus de 5 sur 20, pour l'effort d'avoir essayé.

    Mais en tant que remaster (et sans s'attendre à un remake non plus), on s'attendrait à légèrement plus que simplement mettre un nouveau mode graphique, une compatibilité sur manette qui ne marche qu'à moitier... et... c'est tout.
    Je vais donc le noter au prorata ("proratage" dirais-je même plus) du prix par rapport aux noms de fonctionnalités : 2/40.

    EDIT : Je viens de penser que je n'ai même pas parlé du fait que l'interface clavier/souris n'avait pas changé d'un poil, quelle honte de n'avoir même pas appliqué les bonnes idées de l'interface manette...

    EDIT2 : J'aimerais rajouter 2 éléments :
    - L'outil de respé a finalement été réintégré, mais n'est plus disponible qu'à la fin du jeu, et demande pas mal farmer, pourquoi pas.
    - Les notes des utilisateurs sont assez unanimes : 4.8/10 sur MetaCritic, 2,9/10 sur GameKult, 10,4/20 sur JVC (5,2/10 pour aider à la comparaison des notes sur 10). Bon, ce n'est pas un complot du 15-18, y'a vraiment une couille dans l'potage d'après les joueurs.    … Expand

В то же время хвалю за то, что не испортили игру добавлением лишних деталей. Die Entwickler bekommen es seit mindestens 7 Tagen einfach nicht geschissen, dieses Problem zu beheben. Vor Release gab es dieses Problem nicht, da erst später dieser Mist !!!ausversehen!!!     While I played the OG Diablo and Diablo III, by the time the original Diablo II came out I was too fixated on my PlayStation to care about PC titles. I picked this up on the Series X and while it’s a grind, the game really starts to open up late in Act I. The game looks fantastic and I’m enjoying exploring different characters and builds. While equipment and loot management can be frustrating, you quickly learn to focus on the most valuable drops versus filling up your inventory every five minutes and traveling to town. I understand the players that were frustrated at launch due to server problems, but I would venture in saying most of the “0’s” here haven’t tried the game. I saw a comment on pay to win boosts and I honestly have no idea what it’s referring to after 30 hours with the game. Although I know players develop trading economies outside the game, the game is not forcing micro transactions or passes in-game. I also don’t understand giving a “0” because you don’t like the art direction of one or two characters. Really? I hate their face, therefore the whole game is crap?! Dark Alliance got less hate than this and the game was just a re-release in 4K. This is a beautiful game that retains the historical core gameplay. It’s exactly what I wanted. Not a re-make, not a reboot, just an incredible way to experience the original game. Running the game in performance mode on Series X is a thing of beauty. This game is the top game in my console right now. It even made me go back to Diablo III as I start to understand the narrative a little more between the two games.… Expand

    It's a buggier and more laggy version of the original with upgraded graphics. I wouldn't recommend buying this game until after the issues have been patched

    It's just amazing. It's exactly what a remaster should be. They stayed true to the setting, all the blood and everything is there and improved in some places. I hope D4 takes hints from this remaster because it's definitely a step in the right direction. 10/10.

    You had this game before? Oh really? You should read what they offer in refreshed version of the game. It's everything what I wanted to have, old D2 with new graph. Good that they gave this work to correct studio!

По поводу олдфагов которые ноют на "цензуру" и страшную амазонку, ну вы взрослые люди, для вас есть спец. ресурсы, спец. игры, и на худой конец, живые девушки...

    Not being victim of this internet outrage I've been enjoying the game instead of feeling neglected because something isn't exactly like I wanted it to be. Great graphical overhaul and great quality of life improvements. Still feels/looks the part. Love it!

    Diablo II: Resurrected is far from perfect. The changes in character design are likely to rile up returning players, and the archaic gameplay probably won’t agree with younger generations weaned on more streamlined, sophisticated experiences. While I appreciate that this legendary title is now available in an improved format, it’s not a caveat-free recommend.

    Diablo II returns with refreshed graphics and unaltered gameplay (apart from some small improvements). It’s as fun as I remembered, so I quickly felt at home and gave in to nostalgia. However, it’s hard not to notice that beneath revamped visuals lies a 21 years old design. [12/2021, p.32]
