Don't be misled by the fake positive reviews.
The show is awful, full of plot holes and bad writing.

Don't waste your time with this tripe of a show.

They gave obi-wan the same treatment they gave Luke in the last Jedi. I tuned in to see a show about Obi-Wan, not about an annoying 10 years old. The bad guys are also strait up comical. The 5th brother looks like a cartoon caricature. The third sister, who is the real star of the show along side toddler leia, is underwhelming as a Star Wars vilain. They try so hard to prop her up that it makes the whole show unwatchable for me. The chase scene also has to go down in history as the worst meant-to-be-serious scene in a big budget production. Clearly the wrong person were hired at every level for this show. Expand

The story is so contrived and unimaginative. The writers and producers seemingly have no respect at all for the Star Wars franchise, and instead of giving us a good story, they used the opportunity to emasculate another Star Wars hero and deliver another social justice message just like Disney did in the sequel trilogy. And what's with the complete lack of anything even resembling a soundtrack? It's like they just forgot how important the music of Star Wars is supposed to be. The entire thing is utterly abysmal. Apparently, Jar Jar Kennedy is utterly incapable of making a good film or show without Jon Favreau at the helm. Help me Jon Favreau. You're my only hope. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Disney Lucasfilm is misleading as ever since they bribed George Lucas. Lucasfilm Retcons the series, Kenobi already knew that Anakin and Vader are the same person and alive, a scene from episode 1 of Reva ruining that plot line, from ROTS proofs it. Padmé said "their still good in him" before episode 1 shows that this show is confusing, episode 4 Reva telling Leia that Obi-wan is dead when Leia doesn't know Ben's real name in a new hope. False advertising, lack of CGI, poor production, Obi-wan lightsaber not cutting up storm troopers its flying off the body like a banana, poor writing, boring characters, rushed the episodes, Bait and switch its all about Reva. Writer didn't do any research rather lazy. Disney Lucasfilm woke strikes again! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like this show, but I can't. It is glorified fan fiction. There is no respect for canon, or continuity. No respect for the characters, and events. The writer is just doing what ever he wants, and whatever he thinks is "Cool" even if it makes no sense. For instance, **SPOILERS BELOW**

>Obi-wan not knowing Vader is alive? Vader is famous, he has been active for 10 years as the enforcer for the emperor. Obi-wan knows Vader is Anakin, yet was shocked at finding this out. >Reva knows Anakin is Vader, even though this is a guarded secret, and she would be executed for this.
>The villains are where ever they need to be, even if that means that space and distance no longer works.
>Obi-wan can't really use the force, or fight with a lightsaber. The excuse is that he is sad and rusty, but given that his life's purpose is to protect and train Luke, and commune with Qui-gon, he would stay in fighting condition. He didn't even use a lightsaber stance in his first fight with Vader. I recognize the stances. Vader entered Makashi, And obi-wan didn't even enter Soresu.
>Episode 4, Leia is captured (cause teleporting Reva) and taken to secret Inquisitorious base, but somehow the good guys know where the base is, and just waltz in? The space is a secret from even the majority of the Empire. >Lots of contrived plot points, like Reva going to Kill Leia because she is convinced Leia (who Reva had kidnapped because reasons she shouldn't know) knows about the jedi smuggling paths? But at the same time puts a tracker in Leia's droid because is knows she is going to be rescued? I'm sorry?
>The vader and Obi-wan fight was just stupid. Vader can't walk through fire, or put it out, or walk around it? He can't use the force to pull an unconscious obi-wan? They shouldn't even be meeting or fighting.
>Oh, yeah. They kill the Grand inquisitor. The character that is still alive in Rebels 4-5 years later. He is also ridiculously incompetent, and used a prop to hold up Reva. I am waiting for the end credit scene on episode 6 where he isn't dead, cause they have to retcon it. I could go on... This story is a poorly made shirt. I pull on a loose thread and everything starts to unravel. It is fanfiction. High budget what if story. And I've read better writer stories on Wattpad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Disney you ruined everything again. You spoil everything by touching the last 10 years - it's just a limitation. I've been waiting for Obi-Wan Kenobi for more moments of rumors about a serial series, hoping for an interesting plot, a story about a fan favorite character in the Star Wars universe.
What did Star Wars fans get in the end:
1. Agenda. This is perhaps the biggest reason why Disney is ruining all the franchises (Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney).
In Obi-Wan Kenobi, this manifested itself in the appointment of a woman to the post of showrunner of the series, who did not make a single big-budget film in her entire life, but only filmed serials for several episodes. Before joining the Disney series, she had no idea what Star Wars was, this is for sure a complete copy of Ryan Johnson, and she also likes to shove herself in the form of all sorts of cameos in her series. Most of the other executive producers are also women, who got into the world of Star Wars only after Disney bought LucasArts, and had nothing to do with fantastic universes.
Our esteemed screenwriter is of Iranian descent and is also on the agenda to discriminate against white men in the film and TV industry. A person who also has no merit, experience in fantasy films or big budget films (which is important), writes the script for our series. From here we have stupid dialogues that litter screen time, meaningless, inexplicable actions (Obi Wan running from Darth Vader - Tom and Jerry), interrogating a little girl with an addiction, and so on.
2. Plot holes. The incoherent plot of the film, which innapropriate into any star wars film (as well as the new mediocre horror trilogy with Rey and Kylo-ren, which created an unrealistic amount of discrepancies, here you can also add the Boba Fett series, in which Boba Fett from professional mercenary turned into a kind grandfather with a stick).
3. New characters and new actors - Disney loves it. Introduce a ton of new characters (mostly black by origin). An example is our villainess in the film, whose name no one remembers, and rightly so. She has no motivation, we do not know who she is, absolutely nothing is known about her, she falls like snow in July, no one was waiting for her, and no one needs her. If she is several ranks lower than the grand inquisitor, how does she manage to kill him, despite the fact that he, logically, should be very strong (Rebels). What kind of incomprehensible acting game, better black actresses have not been found?

That's not all, but I don't want to continue further, because the list will be too long, talking about the shortcomings of this series. This is not an Obi-Wan series, this is an Obi-Wan fanfiction and, unfortunately, with actors from the second golden trilogy.

Star Wars fans, be patient and may the strength be with us to endure the sordid rape of our beloved Star Wars universe.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Completely undermines everything Lucas wrote for Star Wars by making Luke "not important", characters are written soo poorly that a rage filled dark side user doesn't have sith eyes or criminals couldn't even duck under a branch to kidnap Leia... Heck, the wise master of the jedi order panics like a nervious wreck and surrenders to less enemies than he just killed. "Quick Leia, lets disable this laser gate we could walk around just so we can walk through it"
What the hell is this writing? Seems more like they just make shows just to have female characters undermine legacy ones in their own shows

And worst of all as per Hollywood, the corp has decided to slander fans as bigots for a handful of hate comments to create a smokescreen to protect the IP from criticism for its poor writing to say the fandom has a racism problem, akin to Ghostbusters 2016 saying fans are sexist (despite only 0.2% of comments actually being hateful)

Typical media trying to spin genuine criticism as review bombing whilst ignoring the thousands of one sentance 10/10 rating in the space of 24 hours... We all know Disney is just doing damage control right now to protect their IP

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… There was once a wise Jedi Knight named Obi-Wan Kenobi, who disappeared into the sands of time on the planet of Tatooine. The protagonist in this show is not that character, despite sharing the same name. This imposter lacks the cunning cleverness of his predecessor and, in that place, is complete hollowness, which has led to some of the most dumbfounding things I’ve seen any character commit in the Star Wars universe.
I mean this is Obi-Wan Kenobi… Everything you loved about the character has been sadly stripped away. He’s not even a shadow of his former self; he’s been remoulded to the point of becoming practically unrecognisable — if not for Ewan McGregor returning, you would not believe it was the same person as the one you saw in the prequel trilogy. Sure, there’s an excuse based on what the character has gone through over the years — he’s on a downer, but this is more like witnessing a bone-shattering nosedive into concrete; there’s no joy in such a spectacle. Three episodes in from the promising pilot, and I haven’t seen an ounce of character development.
Characters are only as brilliant as their writers, so I’m confidently certain Mensa won’t be sending the writers for this show invitations for their “smart” decisions anytime soon.

As for the show itself, I’m sorry to admit, most of all to myself as a massive Star Wars worshipper, that it is a complete and utter letdown. The storyline is uninspired, the actions scenes are underwhelming, the writing is baffling, the direction is unspectacular, the characters are all one-note, and that scene involving Obi-Wan and Vader reuniting produced the most generic dialogue imaginable, words you can hear in a thousand other movies and shows. That was shameful. I could go on and into more detail about the negatives, but what’s the point of it for a pointless show? Positives? Yeah, there is. James Earl Jones still sounds tremendous and menacing as Vader. It’s just too bad the dialogue he’s reading is as bland as a dead Jawa.

For a minute just look on IMDB at the whole team creating this...literal nobodies for a production that COULD and SHOULD have brought in the world's greatest director to tell a story that fans like myself have been waiting decades for. It should've easily been a multi-billion dollar box office hit with someone like Taika Waititi, James Gunn, James Mangold, Denis Villeneuve or JJ Abrams on board. Creative talent should mean something, but instead a bunch of corporate types like Kathleen Kennedy mailed it in and spent all their budget on fake reviews and blaming bad ones on "toxic fans'...lol. This show has the grease of corporate film manufacturing all over it. If you claim not to see what I'm about to describe, I implore you to open your eyes, for the good of Star Wars. Disney and Kathleen Kennedy are doing the best they can to put Luke Skywalker and the entire reason for the Star Wars story existing, in our rear view mirrors. They did it to Luke, because he was a strong male lead, with a white skin color at that! Now they're doing it with Obi Wan. In a show where we expected Obi Wan to be an older, but much wiser and more in tune with the force version of the young man we saw in Episode 3, we were instead given a frail, shell of a man. Kathleen Kennedy's version of Obi Wan is weak, hasn't used the force in 10 years even though he's suppose to somehow protect Luke? They're actively undoing everything we grew up with in order to fit the current social climate. The Force is Female, you saw it on their shirts.. and there's nothing wrong with female characters, see Leia, even Rey at first. But what they're forcing is a redemption arc for a completely unwanted character in Reva. The writing is so lazy and easy to interpret(almost like it's written for kids), that even without the spoilers, by episode 3 you can tell that Obi Wan is not the main character of this show.
You have a child version of Leia(again, for what reason? who asked for this? Why is she in OBI WAN KENOBI?) and a female villain who you've instructed in the writing to just yell all the time. Please Disney, look at your audience, instead of seeing detailed critiques from serious fans that treasure the lore and the imaginings of a galaxy far far away and calling them racist, just read them. I assure you in a MAJORITY of them, you will find legitimate critiques based on the writing, skill of the actors, or directing, and not many will you find saying they dislike the show because you cast a black woman.. what a joke.
We the fans love the original Star Wars story, we want to escape this fallen world we live in every single day, we want to escape to a galaxy far, far away. We're trying let our minds rest and dream while we watch these stories, stop bringing the woke treatment to every single thing you lackadaisically create and let us rest. Create GOOD Star Wars, or stop creating the content.

If you want further evidence of how politicized everything with the mouse's finger prints is, look at when the article for the supposed "review bombing" of this show came up, and the time stamps for the actual positive review bombing that came directly after. Good to see all has returned to normal with actual fans rating the show as it is, garbage.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. More poorly developed trash by Disney. The depiction of Obi is almost criminal. It goes against star wars lore and general human nature. No one of Obi Wan high esteem and character would behave this poorly. He is a coward, weak, depressed, and down right of bad character. The story line is weak, and predictable. The feminist/minority agenda will be full-filled when The "third sister", who was forced to be bad, coverts to good to save old helpless Ben. Once again proving that the white male is never a true hero. I may be wrong, but I bet not. Together they will kill a poorly develop antagonist . Well I guess they could kill Vader off, lol.. It is Junk that is only watchable because I am a sucker for anything Star Wars. Expand

Obi Wan is presented as an ineffectual coward multiple times, unlike in movie episodes 1-3 where he is the first to run towards danger and face it. A clear bait and switch designed to idolize Moses Ingram's character (who is a terrible actress in this show) while denigrating its original protagonist. In other words, it's the predictable and pathetic trend of tearing down classic characters and writing them a useless in order to build up a new character that checks certain political boxes. This is a primary sign of subpar low intelligence writers with no ideas being given a franchise that is way out of their league. The Jedi overall are also portrayed as generally incompetent and easily killed, instead of being some of the most powerful beings in the galaxy. This is Last Jedi all over again, but in a way it's worse because it's taking a lot more time over the course of an entire season and carrying out the torture slowly. If you have any love for the originals, DO NOT watch this - It's a waste of your time. Expand

The show is a hot mess when it should be an easy home run with Ewan and Hayden starring in the series.

It's absolutely amazing to see Ewan McGregor back in action, especially since I grew up watching the prequels. But this show has just been disappointing so far. From ridiculous chase scenes to laughable disguises, I'm not quite sure how some of the stuff in this show got past the brainstorming phase of writing, let alone actually put into the show. If you're a casual Star Wars fan then this show will probably be fine for you, but for fans like myself, it's been rough to watch so far. Expand

I mean this 100% sincerely: I would rather watch the hypothetical Rian Johnson trilogy.

At least it wouldn't be another lame "prequel." At least he could emasculate his *own* characters instead of every old hero. At least it would be visually novel. At least it would only break general Star Wars world building/canon instead of ruining the old characters in detail. At least it wouldn't be another bait-n-switch where the hero is shown up by our ever-so-wonderful Mary Sue du'jour.

Also the writing would be better. It would be BAD 'cause Rian can't write well, but he's at least better than a D+ writer. With the exception of Wandavision's first half, these are some SERIOUS scrubs writing for D+. No talent, no work ethic. Most of them *don't even thoroughly watch the source material* before they begin "subverting" it & pushing THE MESSIGE.

Hacks. Arrogant hacks. Shame, 'cause this was an easy win. Instead we have juvenile narrative, weak dialogue, & characters molded to fit the narrative instead of the converse. Pathetic.

Every episode contains numerous plot and character inconsistencies which are sometimes unintentionally comical, but more often frustrating. Characters seemingly teleport, inexplicably know things, and go through radical changes in temperament and competence in short spans of time. Moreover, a lot of the showtime feels like filler, which could have been used instead for setups and explanations to tackle these plot holes. Many people have complained about the acting, but it's hard to blame the actors given the material they had to work with. Overall, the pretty window-dressing of special effects and nostalgia was not enough to distract me from the cringeworthy writing. Expand

I would have been happy with anything 7/10 or better. Main issue is the direction. I’ve seen so-so stories well told; I’ll actually submit a contemporary hit as an example: Top Gun 2. But this is a weak story poorly told. It just falls flat. The details and character development are whisper thin. Character motivations turn on a dime and it often happens all over the course of one short scene. This isn’t network TV, they can make these episodes 50 minutes long with lots of details if they want, but they are more interested in rushing us from scene to scene. It’s a bad story … quickly told…. Like notes on a napkin. It feels like a first draft in need of polish to elevate the material into something artistic. I am completely unmoved by the story, which is the worst thing you can say about a story. I’m a life long Star Wars fan like many, and have put up with so many subpar entries by now that it’s never surprising to get a new one but it’s never not disappointing that the right people can’t get paired up with this material to give it the life it deserves. Watching this show makes me long for the rumored underworld series Lucas had commissioned scripts for before he sold Star Wars to Disney. Expand

It is slow, not exciting and facepalm moments galore make me glad it is over. The convenient road is best avoided with so many plotholes. Better take a detour. Being StarWars doesn't automatically mean it is any good cinema. The camera, editing, writing... Sheesh. I am sure any kid of factually 10 years old can do a much better job. I can't take a franchise serious anymore, when the makers think we viewers have a brain of a microbe. This is far below the standard. Nostalgia is not what it used to be. Highlight = Hayden. Expand

Did Disney really think we are stupid?

The Series is full of stupid ideas, first that obi-wan is a compleet loser. He is a space monk, based on buddist monks and knights/paladins of fantasy genre. Why disney want every jedi to break to looser. They are monks, they are indoctrinated and even if they do not want to fight, they do not stop in there believe or training routine. Then the black woman controversy, that is make up by disney! Did disney really think they have a problem with a black woman in a show? No! They have problems with a character that gets more focus in her story, as the main protagonist. She is smarter is the hero, she is stronger as the hero, what make her the HERO. But that show is namend "Obi-wan Kenobi" not the "new character introduction Show".

Then all the stupid things, like the tollstation with the laser fance, laughtable because the writer is so stupid to add such a scene. Then the base infiltration, stolen out of a video game, the underwatertunnel is the same, stolen out of a video game. The exit from the base, a military base, everybody act like they never have ever heared of military routines. Like when the base alarm go on, everybody go on battle stations and the tie fighter start to patrole. No, they wander arround like chickens. But the worst of this series is, that they ruin not only obi-wan, they ruin darth vader to. Both act not like they would act after all the movies, series and book, and i don't even take on the "legend" material. Who they get mostly the best jedi ever trained "obi wan" and make him a looser, than he make his padawan who is now "darth vader" to an reatard. He is in a fire proven body armor and stops on the fire, he do not sent a squard of tiefighters and bombers to a base blockade... he even stops to kill his underling. He is not a guy who stops, he is full of anger, he can't really control if he is in rage and he will destroy everything in his path. he is a juggernaunt... he don't stop! But no disney make him a retard who gets braindeath... when something is not as he plan. Oh you have a tracker... braindeath, restart, let the woman go and say "good". Sorry disney, you don't understand starwars. Its a simple hero story, where the hero is the hero and the bad guy the bad guys. They make a smart and simple hero tale, to a mess like "lost", with stupid ideas.

Disney have really missed an opportunity to tell an interesting story that fans of the original and prequels trilogies can really connect with, especially a series based around a main character who was at the centre of some very complex galactic politics. There could have been much more interesting storytelling about the formation and coordination of the rebellion, which would have been complicated. Instead, we sacrifice 2 of the most important characters in the series to a kids show. I have nothing against Star Wars kids shows in general, but Disney need to actually use their creative brains and make their own stories set in the same universe, rather than exploiting and disposing of existing characters and narratives, preventing them from ever getting the mature, high-quality shows/movies they deserve. And what's up with Obi-wan so broken? The show really could have been called Princess Leia.

Biggest issue with this show thus far has been blatant continuity errors. Ultimately devolves into nothing but flashy (and not so good) CGI, badly constructed scenes and choreography. Middling sound engineering and costume design.

Disappointing series. Anakin only really used last 2 episodes. Did not feel like Star Wars at all. Where was the music? No magic that was part of the original trilogy felt at all. Waste of characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Few dumb things in this Disney "Star wars" series..

Obi wan was a wise man, but in this show, they make him look like an idiot.(and we all know why, spoilers: because he's a man, men are dumb and useless allright.. )

How did Reva know where Leia is? No explanation.. How did Reva know that Luke is Vader's son? No idea.. Also, Reva's plans make no sense in the show. Then there's 10 year old girl, Leia, outrunning grown men(because men are dumb and useless).. Vader kills Reva.. but she survives.. Vader kills Reva again.. but no, she survives miraculously again.. And, after years of murdering people, Reva "redeemes" herself in the end.. Well, actually one good deed doesn't erase countless bad ones.. but hey this is Disney "star wars" and women can do no wrong..

Convenience is the word here folks..

Anyway, the plot is terrible, that's all you need to know..

I set my expectations for this "show" real low, and yet it managed to underperform.
Nothing makes sense, never, the plot constantly contradicts everything that was said and done both in the Original Trilogy and in the Prequel Trilogy, old characters that have always behaved in a certain manner suddenly became something else entirely in this series, the new ridiculously uninteresting and incredibly poorly written characters are the real protagonists of the entire thing, outshining what should be the two stars, Vader and Obi-Wan and the action scenes are worthless and badly choreographed.
The entire show feels like it was written, directed and edited by a 5 year old and that is mostly because in pure Kennedy/SJW fashion, the appointed director was chosen merely because it was a woman, instead of the talent and it show: the goddamn camera shakes furiously 90% of time as if we were watching some mocumentary and the vast majority of the shots are complete trash.
Soundtrack is awful, poorly composed and doesn't create any sort of emotion, just like the rest, and there is barely any hint at the masterpiece of John Williams.
Overall, this is easily on par with the Sequel Trilogy for how ugly, useless, badly written and full of filler characters it is, with the stark difference that THIS have Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader in it and still manages to not only be trash, but also make the two most beloved Star Wars characters look like complete morons.

Disappointing writing and some average performances. The return of Kenobi and Vader should have been far more compelling than this.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly this show made me so angry, I wanted to give it a 0, but objectively, if someone isnt a star Wars fan, I think a 3 is right. So what you get here is another broken Jedi (remember Luke in sequels) that somehow forgot all his training and lost all his skills and became a coward. Suddenly the show revolves around little Leia, who is pictured as wonder child, speaking like an adult and escaping bonty hunters on her 10 years old legs.Obi wan forgot how to use a lightsaber, and ofc a woman saves him. So if you are a Star Wars fan , i could go on but in a nutshell its a destruction of acharacter, again, which made my blood boil. If you arent a Star wars fan, its still a really badly written show with plenty of plot holes and parts that look like a farce. On the good side a few scenes are good, and generally imho the production value is high.Im sad that Ewan took part in this, he is sucha good actor and likable person. I wish they hadn’t made this.
Half of it isn’t even about Obiwan. There is no emotional value to anything here, it’s baffling how anyone enjoyed it. As soon as it gets good, it cuts to Reva searching for a door, or Reva going after Luke for
