First and foremost, Calamity Angels: Special Delivery is a comedy game and it delivers (sorry) on that foundation exceptionally well as it'll constantly make you laugh out loud if you don't take it too seriously. Even though it gets repetitive, you'll still make plenty of memories.

Ys X: Proud Nordics is the same great game with extra content that adds a lot of value and rewarding challenges for those who master its memorable seafaring campaign. It may have released a bit too soon but what's here is excellent stuff regardless.

ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard is a first-person puzzle game that combines so many enjoyable mechanics in such clever ways that it presents a constantly rewarding campaign where you'll always look forward to what's to come.

High On Life 2 presents such a constant barrage of ridiculous humour and memorable gameplay scenarios that it can be a great deal of fun. At the same time, its core gameplay is quite simple and not everyone will appreciate its world's cynical albeit colourful lens.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is one of the best roguelikes thanks to its action-packed combat, strategic upgrades, huge variety of characters, superb animation, and constant sense of reward. If you love 2D action games then you'll have a wonderful time with this impressive package.

Mario Tennis Fever is absolutely the best game in the series so far and if you enjoy the back-and-forth of the sport as you take in all of the wonderfully charming sights and sounds then this is a must-play game that really shines in multiplayer.

Relooted's clever blend of gameplay elements as you plan, solve puzzles, and then execute via exciting parkour segments completely blew me away and it certainly stands tall as one of the most unique and rewarding indie games that you'll ever play.

SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION is bursting with explosive old-school fun that has held up outstandingly well over the decades. Whether you're playing it solo or with a couchful of chums, you'll be in for one superbly entertaining time.

Dark Auction is a visual novel with gameplay elements that reward observant players while the plot and cast come together in an intriguing way to deliver story twists that you'll never see coming.

MY HERO ACADEMIA: All's Justice is a flashy and entertaining fighter that folks of all skill levels can easily enjoy thanks to its intuitive and accessible control options. Plus, it looks excellent to boot and is full of superbly memorable characters.

Nioh 3 is a superbly enjoyable culmination of action RPG fun and its open environments are bursting with so much rewarding content that it's hard to put it down whenever you start playing. It may be a big change of pace but I'm incredibly happy with everything it offers.

The graphical upgrade and streamlined gameplay of DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined provide a breath of fresh air that do a great job of making this classic RPG appeal to both new and familiar audiences.

I had fun with the basic gameplay and quirky premise of Rightfully, Beary Arms but it definitely doesn't live up to its genre contemporaries.

I had a great deal of fun while being immersed in the striking world within MIO: Memories in Orbit as it is one captivating Metroidvania.

I appreciate Brave x Junction's Blackjack battles but the overall fun factor wears thin after traversing only a few of its repetitive dungeons.

There are so many puzzle and strategy elements in Drop Duchy - Complete Edition yet it ties them all together into one super-fun formula.

Candylands Journey is a fitting follow-up to the delightful Farlands Journey and I downright adore both of these super-fun retro-inspired indies.

Escape from Ever After establishes its lighthearted fairy tale world wonderfully with its endearing visuals, characters, and music and it plays superbly to boot thanks to its impressively strategic party setup and battle mechanics. What an absolute delight.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a supremely fun one-on-many fighting experience with familiar grand scale battles combining with freshly challenging elements that can really put your skills and reflexes to the test and it works wonderfully on Nintendo Switch 2.

It's no Fruit Mountain but Suika Game Planet is still a good time with its simple and satisfying gameplay. Plus, there are stickers to collect!

Revolgear Zero is an excellent shoot 'em up that you'll literally have a blast with as you unlock parts and fully customise your ship.

Super Farming Boy is one of my new favourite indie games with its adorable visuals and super-rewarding gameplay where strategically placing crops will make you feel like a farming legend who may just be capable enough to save their mom and friends.

Despite some of my issues with OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0, there was simply only one conclusion I could draw after finishing the game: the future of the series is bright and I couldn't be happier about that.

Hero Seekers is the first game from VANGUARD that really clicked with me and I'm looking forward to many more games from them as they continue to improve on their established formulas to create increasingly fun and memorable old-school RPGs.

Big Hops is a super-cute game that can be a lot of easygoing fun if you enjoy physics-based 3D platforming. However, its mostly empty environments, occasionally annoying glitches, and odd flimsy gameplay segments make it fall flat from time to time.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon is a massive game with oodles of familiar and fresh characters, locales, mechanics, and quests. It can actually be a bit too much at times yet it all comes together to form one of the best-crafted modern RPGs.

The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit is a modern retro-style game done right so grab a pen and paper to write your passwords down and have a blast shooting your way through its clever stages as you take in the very cool chiptunes and oodles of goofy references.

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is bursting with nostalgic fighting fun for any fan of Nihon Falcom's RPGs. Although it's rather basic, there's so much packed in that you're bound to love unlocking oodles of goodies as you take in all the lovely sights and sounds.

Even if you end up playing only 1 or 2 of the games, the level of quality showcased in Simogo Legacy Collection makes it well worth owning.

Completing the increasingly complex puzzles within LOK Digital provides a great deal of fun for any puzzle game enthusiast so check it out.

It's awesome that Dadish 4 retains what keeps the series fun while offering enough variety that anyone will be hooked until the very end.

I had so much fun with Tomba! 2 Special Edition and it reminded me just how special of a game it is thanks to its unorthodox approach to platforming, general goofiness, and stage designs that often offer much more than initially meets the eye. Plus, there are piggies.

If Terminator 2D: NO FATE released back in the day, it would have been a huge step up from the light gun games but it still wouldn't manage to reach the heights of run 'n' gun classics and considering this was made decades later, why even bother?

Fighting your way through a jungle filled with lighthearted hilarity, tight combat, varied builds, and rewarding unlockables makes Dunjungle stand out as one of the best 2D action platformer roguelikes. So, go monkey around, chums.

Trouble Witches FINAL! Episode 01 Daughters of Amalgam is jam-packed with flashy shoot 'em up fun that's set in a bubbly world filled with awesome characters and enjoyable bosses. Its gameplay systems really come together nicely to make for one score-chasing good time.

Despite its adorableness, BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons is one of the toughest games that you'll ever play; think Spelunker but even more unforgiving. However, if you're willing to stick to it, you'll end up having a great time mastering its oodles of content.

If it had more effort put into its sound and visual effects, StarLightRiders: HyperJump would have been a pretty good little shmup.

Schildmaid MX turns shmup action on its head with its cool shield mechanic and I highly recommend it if you enjoy aiming for high scores.

R-Type Delta: HD Boosted is an absolute gem of a shoot 'em up that's near and dear to my heart but holy hot darn, will it make you want to rip your hair out so make sure you bring plenty of patience and it'll end up being a supremely rewarding experience.

HELLO KITTY AND FRIENDS: FREEZE TAG PARTY is just so cute and fun to play that even with its simple formula and limited environments, it ends up being a wonderful little shindig that's surprisingly hard to put down.

There's a lot of fun to be had with PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship and all of its delightful characters and lovely courses to race through. But, just like its soundtrack, it's bound to get repetitive sooner or later.

Kirby Air Riders is so full of variety, hearty challenges, and pure joy that I highly recommend it to anyone who relishes unconventional gaming experiences. Plus, its online component is so well implemented that it may just be my new go-to game for multiplayer fun.

If you're a fan of twin-stick shooters then you have to play Sektori as it's one of the best representations of the genre in modern gaming.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide feels like a '00s-era 3D platformer in many ways and its sense of variety and constant fun with impressively intricate stage designs made me quite happy. It can be glitchy and confusing, though, so keep that in mind.

Syberia - Remastered is a classic adventure game and this new iteration certainly delivers a unique clockpunk aesthetic that the series is known for. It's still difficult to move around and there are bugs but if you're a fan of adventure games, you'll be happy to play this.

With the core games being as stellar as they are, the fact that Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack has so many additions, refinements, and included DLC is just awesome. This may very well be the most jam-packed RPG trilogy in all of gaming and it's all just so delightful.

PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC - Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration is perhaps the most enjoyable DLC crossover that I've ever played. With so much content, collectibles, and challenges that are set in such beautifully designed stages, this is more than enough to delight any gamer.

Atari 50: THE NAMCO LEGENDARY PACK is one of the best retro expansions out there with its historical value and selection of console ports.

Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition is a disappointing farming sim that doesn't do much to keep you coming back. There are many better games out there that deserve your attention including The Winds of Anthos so ignore this and go pick that up.

Possessor(s) is one of the most unconventional Metroidvanias that I've played thanks to its visceral dystopian world and focus on equipment-based combat that rewards experimentation, practice, and patience much more than brute force. Now, that's clever and quite cool indeed.

Lumines Arise is one of my favourite puzzle games of all time with classic gameplay and flashy new visuals that really pop in VR. Whether you're new to these games or not, you're bound to adore what's in store, especially if you enjoy achieving higher and higher scores.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V GENERATION is a mostly familiar experience, especially if you're coming fresh off Re;Birth2 yet it still provides one charming and hilarious adventure that beautifully ties up the original trilogy.

Tales of Xillia Remastered is one of my personal favourite Tales games so if you're a fellow fan, this version contains plenty of quality of life upgrades that definitely make it worth getting so you can spend even more time with Milla and Jude.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2 SISTERS GENERATION is an improved sequel that modern fans may have missed out on back in the day so it's wonderful that it was re-released for PS4 in the west. If you want some lighthearted RPG fun, you'll love what's in store.

The fact that Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+ released in the west after the superior remake Neptunia ReVerse may be baffling but there's no denying that it's a wonderful trip back to the past that dedicated fans will thoroughly enjoy.

The Lonesome Guild is one of my favourite indie games of the year with its heartfelt story, well-balanced blend of action and puzzles, and delightful visuals that beautifully tie it all together. You're sure to think fondly back on your adventure for years to come.
