Baldur's Gate 3 is an outstanding achievement in game design, character-based storytelling, and player choice. So, if you've been hesitating to play it like I have then don't be a goof and check it out already; you almost certainly won't regret it.

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn explores life after the main story. However, it does so without adding anything substantial and the story feels rushed which makes this DLC hard to recommend even for fans of the main game (which is, in fact, awesome).

Grace of Letoile is a solid retro-inspired RPG with its unique and engaging battle mechanics doing almost all of the heavy lifting to make it a worthwhile adventure. Besides that and its intriguing story, there isn't really much here that puts it above similar games.

Dungeons 4 is chock full of challenging real-time strategy scenarios that are bursting with variety and oodles of humour. It all adds up to a wonderful experience that this game-playing Evil highly recommends to anyone who loves to be bad.

Wave 6 of Mario Kart 8's Booster Course Pass is full of lovely familiar tracks along with a couple of fantastic European adventures and the cozy new Piranha Plant Cove. It's a great way to end the pass and I don't want to sound greedy but now I want more.

It may be rough around the edges but I still had a blast with Berzerk: Recharged and plan on playing it more while trying to improve my high scores. What is it with these Atari Recharged remakes? I just want to feed them straight into my veins.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a Smashing good time yet it remains a fighter that doesn't really do anything all that special. With that in mind, if you're a fan of the featured franchises then you'll definitely find value in this very silly package.

With its bugs and poor coaster editor aside, RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe's intuitive gameplay can be quite entertaining.

DAVE THE DIVER is a lovely little game that blends serving food, fishing, mini-games, and fun dialogue into one immersive package.

METAL GEAR SOLID: Master Collection Vol.1 includes some of the most groundbreaking video games ever made so even if the featured ports aren't all that special, you still get one awesome package and the extras are quite lovely to boot.

It was wonderful revisiting Rena and Claude yet again in STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R and it's undoubtedly the best edition of their grand journey so far. I wasn't expecting to be reminded of as much retro baggage as I was, though, but it's still a great RPG.

The pose-based gameplay of WarioWare: Move It! sets it apart from previous entries and it all works out impressively well with mostly intuitive controls and a super-fun co-op Story mode. Wario's moves aren't quite as smooth as they were back in the day, though.

I figured The Jackbox Party Pack 10 would have been a celebration of the series that took things to new heights but instead, it's a mostly middling offering that doesn't reach many high notes. Please bring back You Don't Know Jack next year!

The 7th Guest VR is not only an excellent Halloween game, it's one of the best PSVR2 games released so far. I highly recommend it.

River City: Rival Showdown 2023 is a solid upgrade of a classic open-ended beat 'em up that's right at home on modern consoles.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express is an impressively entertaining and unique spin on the classic mystery story even if our moustachioed hero, Hercule Poirot, is more serious than I'd like him to be.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder certainly lives up to its name by offering a spectacle-filled and simply magical experience where you never know what sort of clever twist will pop-up next. Plus, it has a surprising level of challenge for anyone wanting to test their platforming skills.

I'm very happy that Alphadia I & II exists as it's a wonderful introduction to the underrated RPG series and these games are actually superior to the more recent offerings which surprised and delighted me. Now, this is how you remake RPGs, folks.

SONIC SUPERSTARS surpassed my expectations as I thought it would simply be a fun co-op iteration of the classics. However, its adorable game world, variety of gameplay, assortment of clever challenges, and hidden goodies to find really makes it go above and beyond.

There's a lot to enjoy in Lords of the Fallen, especially with its phenomenal dual-world reality that adds a layer to exploration. Slaying bosses and trekking ahead may not always be a delight but what's here is still very good nonetheless.

I loved A Tiny Sticker Tale way more than I thought I would thanks to its distinct gameplay, clever scenarios, and adorable world.

Bilkins' Folly is a lovely game with loads of rewarding puzzles to figure out but being able to progress is often an overly taxing affair.

If its gameplay was more fine-tuned, Paperman: Adventure Delivered could have been a great throwback to PS2-era platformers.

You wouldn't expect a game called Bang-On Balls: Chronicles to be as epically fun as it is and I'm very happy that this indie gem exists.

Forza Motorsport is a superb racing sim that marks a welcome return to the genre. If you're a gearhead or simply enjoy a more realistic approach to racing then I highly recommend checking it out although those averse to the genre will likely remain unswayed.

Detective Pikachu Returns is definitely adorable in this Switch debut although the required deduction skills to solve its cases remain at an incredibly low bar to clear which made it hard to hold my attention for very long.

Although it's very laidback and simple, BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space might be a good game for younguns who prefer things slow.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad is a solid albeit standard military shooter that straddles the line between realistic and arcade a little too safely.

I wish that Project Wingman: Frontline 59 took a more arcade-like approach to its VR implementation because it feels needlessly limiting.

The combat of RUINSMAGUS: COMPLETE doesn't offer much satisfaction but hanging out in its town is nothing short of delightful.

Waltz of the Wizard is so jam-packed with fun secrets and entertaining gameplay that it's an easy recommendation for PSVR2.

Besides a few new unit types and a nifty mode, Wargroove 2 is more of the same but when the core formula is this fun, that's great.

If you're in the mood for an abstract fast-paced puzzle-filled boss-slaying adventure then you really can't do much better than Cocoon.

Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is a surprising return to what made the earlier titles special and it feels like Natsume is putting some much-needed attention into fleshing-out the series. With its focus on exploration and a huge world to traverse, tons of items to find, and a variety of animals to nurture as well as solid farming, mining, and fishing; there's a lot of fun to be had with this instalment.

Paleo Pines is a cute sim that focuses more on collecting and exploring than it does farming and its large selection of dinos to befriend are totes adorbs. Amassing a collection of dino pals is rewarding and a lot of things are done well but it just doesn't do enough to keep players hooked like similar games do. Here's hoping the developers take what works and really run with them in their next game.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is one of my favourite action games of the year thanks to its epic combat and character growth opportunities that come together to make each battle feel personalised. It may start out slow but holy hot darn, do things escalate.

Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster brings back one of the greatest RPGs ever made as well as its impressively fleshed-out prequel so if you want to experience an incredible story with phenomenal strategic card-based combat then definitely pick this collection up.

Silent Hope is a challenging dungeon crawler with familiar sights from Rune Factory sprinkled in and there's definitely some fun to be had for those looking for a more action-packed adventure that's set in the same universe. However, the unbalanced heroes and mandatory grinding will certainly put off many players.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is a substantial step-up from the previous game and it's bursting with so many zany mechanics and party customisation options that it'll make your head spin. Trying to master some of the missions will still give you a headache, though.

Even though the intentionally clumsy controls of Party Animals has been done before, the amount of variety makes it stand out.

As perhaps the most ridiculous rhythm game I've ever played, Trombone Champ presents a surprisingly satisfying level of challenge.
