Nov 13, 2023There isn’t anything else quite like Super Crazy Rhythm Castle. Unique and innovative, this zany adventure through music and puzzling is undoubtedly one of the best co-op games in 2023. Sure, you can play it by yourself, but you’re going to have more fun when you’re battling it out with friends. Do yourself a favour and make sure this is on your playlist when you have friends over this holiday season: you absolutely will not regret it.

It's a rhythm game that cleverly plays with the genre's rules, crafting a bizarre yet irresistible experience, especially enjoyable when shared with others. Of course, it still remains a rhythm game, and its quirks will likely make it appealing to a niche audience; however, once you overcome this initial hurdle, it's probably one of the best co-op experiences of the year.

Dec 14, 2023A mix of Guitar Hero and Overcooked that it's very fun with friends and a little frustrating alone. With a great soundtrack and a lot of ideas, it's a shame that sometimes it's so overloaded because confusion aside, it's a great musical game.

Nov 13, 2023Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is a mixtape of differing qualities. There are a couple of bangers in the form of its rhythm gameplay and cartoonish style. There are some flops in its messy difficulty curve and obstructive puzzle mechanics. The music is the perfect blend of childishly amusing yet annoying in equal measure, leaving a tracklist that’ll have highs and lows for all the family, but you’ll be mostly smiling throughout.

Nov 13, 2023Super Crazy Rhythm Castle makes a bold attempt at fusing basic rhythm gameplay with the kinds of asymmetrical co-operative chaos of something like Overcooked, wrapping it up in a deeply funny and genuinely inventive campaign. Sadly it undermines the fun at every turn with wild difficulty spikes, anaemic gameplay customisation and a frustrating lack of explanation of its own mechanics. There's something good here, it's just thoroughly underdeveloped.
