Hero Seekers does just enough to lift itself above the rest of KEMCO’s output. The Hero system is interesting, and the story is compelling. As for the rest of it? Well, it’s very much a retro styled JRPG.

Hero Seekers delivers a classic RPG experience with a nice twist. VANGUARD offers a nice change of pace despite the old-school approach and familiar mechanics. If you love the genre, you will not be disappointed.

Hero Seekers is the first game from VANGUARD that really clicked with me and I'm looking forward to many more games from them as they continue to improve on their established formulas to create increasingly fun and memorable old-school RPGs.
