Microtopia is a factory logistics game that uses its clever ant theming to provide an incredibly fun production puzzle that stands out amongst its genre. Fans of games such as Factorio are sure to find some good, ant-y fun in this clever, modestly priced title.

Avowed doesn’t branch out much, doing a lot in familiar ways to other RPGs, but does them well and will nevertheless deliver a fun-to-play, story-rich RPG experience.

Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered features a faithfully remastered take on three classic Tomb Raider games, with improved controls, graphics, and quality-of-life features, all of which can be disabled, creating the perfect package for faithful fans wanting a modern update on a nostalgic title, or die-hard fans who want to experience the games as they originally were.

The Solid Snake inspirations are clearly intentional when you look at the game’s phenomenal voice cast. Imagine my shock when I not only heard but then rushed to the Steam page to confirm the presence of legendary voice actor and icon of my childhood David Hayter in the role of our protagonist, delivering his delightfully edgy lines with what is undeniably the best voice performance you could ask for a character like this, with maybe Robbie Daymond or Johnny Yong Bosch coming in as distant second choices. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII improves on areas of the franchise that would make any Civ fan excited. However, a feeling of incompleteness makes the game feel rushed and hard to engage with, leading to what may be an example of a game that was launched too soon but may become better with time.

With a fun gameplay loop and a sincere understanding of what makes “Zombie Apocalypse” survival games enjoyable, Welcome Back, Commander can easily suck you in and keep you playing. However, arbitrary restrictions and some buggy design can hold the game back from its full potential.

Astronomics is in a very promising state. Some features are missing due to the game’s early access version, but with a fun gameplay loop and a just-out-of-reach goal that keeps you very motivated to keep playing, Astronomics is sure to be a popular hit. [Early Access Review]

Though it has some graphical errors and mild inaccuracies, Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator provides an incredible simulation of Paramedic life, one that can be as stressful as it is satisfying to play.

Though some features feel a bit buffy or underdeveloped, Blood Bar Tycoon remains an interesting tycoon that should appeal to Vampire and restaurant sim fans alike.

While it draws clear inspiration from Castle Crashers, Big Helmet Heroes successfully carves out its own identity with new combat mechanics, modern graphics, and its own unique sense of humor. This is a title that can easily be enjoyed by players of any age range.

With some minor adjustments and more time in development, MISTERY could have been a great game. However, as it exists now, the title feels unfinished, somewhat buggy, and hard to access for an English-speaking audience, which may explain why the game doesn’t have many players on its North American servers.

Keep Driving is an incredible road trip adventure game, truly living up to the vibe of an early 2000s drive across the country. Every aspect of the game wowed me, and I was left with no desire other than to get even more from the experience. Here’s hoping the developers launch some future DLC for the game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is everything players wanted from a sequel, delivering more incredible open-world medieval adventures with a focus on realism and historical accuracy. Full of cleverly designed mechanics, surreal levels of immersion, and phenomenal writing, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is honor-bound to excite you.

The ability to transform into unique, fully fleshed-out monsters with their own skill trees and abilities makes the gameplay of Coridden feel fresh and exciting. With up to four-player co-op, this ARPG is worth giving a try, either alone or with friends.

While the game excels in gameplay with its resource management, building mechanics, and satisfying sound effects that make abilities feel impactful, the visual presentation falls short. Character models and animations feel stiff and uninspired, with a lack of dynamic movement or style that detracts from the overall experience. The maps and enemies are slightly more engaging, but the design is still fairly generic. Additionally, the game’s difficulty curve needs tweaking, as early levels are too easy and lack a sense of accomplishment. Despite these issues, Achilles: Survivor shows great potential, particularly with its unique gameplay mechanics, though its visual presentation and difficulty adjustments could be improved to match the engaging core concept. Heart of the Machine is a very interesting game and one that I think has a lot of promise. I think the story could use some polish, the tutorial could be briefer while also being more informative, and some minor graphical bugs, including texture load failures, could be addressed, but the Early Access game has plenty of time to improve upon these aspects to deliver a title with a ton of promise. Sniper Elite: Resistance combines its incredible single-player experience with some clever multiplayer features, making a game that is truly fun to play, even with its lackluster enemy AI.

Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter is an incredible adventure game, one that will challenge you with its engaging combat mechanics, wow you with its incredible art and worldbuilding, and pull on your heartstrings with its powerful story, but not without making you chuckle at a clever rat pun or six in the process.

Eternal Strands serves as an incredible debut for Yellow Brick Games, stunning with its incredible visuals and wowing with its great magic system and enthralling gameplay.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues to blow me away with its thoughtful remake of one of the best games ever created, expanding the incredible story and opening up the gameplay to a more broadly appealing, exciting experience.

I didn’t experience any bugs, or if I did, I didn’t notice them. In its current state, the game only contains the first chapter, but that’s already more than enough to keep players engaged while the developers polish the game for its full release which I’m looking forward to. [Early Access Review]

IDUN – Frontline Survival has some interesting mechanics and fun gameplay, hidden behind a veil of insufferable writing and hard-to-look-at and listen-to AI-generated content. If you can see past the game’s AI veneer, and mute the dialogue, you are still in for a pretty fun tower defense game.

Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is an incredible game, featuring unique mechanics that captivate your attention and a story that will break your heart. Presented with beautiful art and nostalgic graphics, this game is as much an art piece as it is a must-play.

ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist is a visually striking Metroidvania game, with meticulously crafted artwork and an atmospheric soundtrack that perfectly enhances its unique world. The gameplay is both engaging and rewarding, offering fun mechanics and a captivating story that draws you into its dark, mysterious setting.

Blade Chimera feels like a breath of fresh air for the Metroidvania genre, standing out with its gameplay and design choices—though keyboard players may want to grab a controller for this one.

In its current state, Hyper Light Breaker’s combat is simply too difficult, and progression is severely gatekept by a game design that makes the permanent buffs typical of the roguelike genre inaccessible. Paired with some frame drops and optimization issues, it’s safe for me to say that while Hyper Light Breaker is promising, it has some work to do before it’s ready to launch. [Early Access Review]

Final Knight may be a bit clunky with its UI and basic with its beat-em-up gameplay, but it delivers on the fantasy of a party-building adventure game perfectly. If optimizing builds and the promise of strong loot compels you to venture into the lair of dangerous monsters, Final Knight is the game for you. [Early Access Review]

Age of Darkness: Final Stand is an instant favorite of mine, cleverly improving and expanding upon tried-and-true RTS mechanics, adding co-op multiplayer, and delivering it all in an awesome dark fantasy RPG package. Grab a friend and face the darkness in what could very well be the best RTS game on the market. [Early Access Score = 100]
