Whilst its clunky combat and repetitive exploration rewards often betrays the overall excellence, immersion and presentation are maintained throughout its runtime, leaving Dread Delusion not just an RPG, but a vivid fever dream that fans of the genre shouldn’t dare miss.

It’s strange to have seen the tennis video game scene left to die in recent years, but Big Ant have proven that there is still plenty of love for the sport. You may find the lack of licensing an issue, but if you love Rafa Nadal, and enjoy a couple of games of tennis, then all is good in the world of AO International Tennis.

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan is a platformer, RPG, puzzle game, pet-collector and Wind Waker-style exploration game, all rolled together and spraypainted in glorious technicolour. It may be knowingly kooky, it may occasionally sound like a cat motivation poster, but we forgave its failings. Rainbow Billy is greater than the sum of its parts, and the developers have absolutely overloaded it with parts.

It may be an old game, but Kingdom Rush is still hugely enjoyable. It is simple but compelling, and when you are down to your last HP and a horde of enemies are bearing down on you, it gets extremely tense.

There is a vogue for this genre of game, where you are tasked with spotting anomalies in a short, repeating loop. Some are very scary, but P1: Anchor Light feels quite unique with its strange set-up, the terrifying hand from the sky, and the fragmented narrative that needs to be unlocked piece by piece.

You’re not going to be playing Let Them Come weeks and months down the line. In fact, you may not bother heading back for alien bashing even a couple of days after your purchase, but should you be looking for a game that brings a hugely addictive hit for a single evening, then Let Them Come is well worth checking out. Especially at the price.

I can forgive Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland for the odd issue, and that is because this is a game that is full of heart. It is a touching tribute to a friend, and while it isn’t perfect as a game, as a work of art it has a great deal of value.

Strayed Lights’ pacifist, parry-led combat felt out of reach at first, but then we found the rhythms of it. We were switching colours on cue, like a mobile rave. We weren’t sold on some visual telegraphing, and the exploration could do with some spit and polish, but everything else here is immaculate. So, treat your fingertips and let Strayed Lights brighten up your evenings.

The humor, references, and gameplay of High on Life 2 match, and then exceed, that of the first game.

Paradise Killer is an extraordinary piece of work; one that the developers have made highly unique, while paying homage to games from years gone by.

Many may be frustrated by the average gameplay and - at times - bog-standard combat offerings that are found in Industria. However, I found the narrative, the ambition of the game, and the sense of wonder and place all very intriguing; at times, melancholic.

Let Me Sleep is great value for money with its variety of puzzles, mini-games, and inventory-based problem solving.

With just enough replayability to suit all, a delightful visual representation, a soundtrack which delivers the goods and some very clever, funny, ideas in place, Frima have nearly brought the house down with Talent Not Included.

Another Sight on Xbox One delivers 6 hours of unique platform/puzzling that I’ve had a blast with. The switching gameplay works extremely well and you must have a heart of stone if you can’t enjoy playing as a cat called Hodges.

Lost Judgment on Xbox feels like a misstep in comparison to the plot of its predecessor, but it still stands head and shoulders above most other open-world titles.

If you’re a fan of a sim experience then you will get a whole load of enjoyment from Startup Company Console Edition.

If you have an evening free and a partner to play with, Biped on Xbox One is a jolly good time. If you don’t have a co-op partner, well, it’s still worth jumping in two-feet-first. Just don’t expect to be challenged, nor be in its world for particularly long.

Some may find Exo One to be a bit too strange, or just not interesting enough. The narrative might be too disparate and oblique to keep interest, and the gameplay may feel too similar throughout. But if you do begin to love Exo One, you’ll start to understand the draw; the great experience of travelling through wonderful magical alien worlds.

For players who are looking for a game that is simple to pick up and play, with easy combat then we would certainly recommend Creatures of Ava. However, if you prefer your action adventure games to be heavier on the action with a larger area to explore then you may want to look for another planet to play on.

There are pacing issues at times, and the inherent lack of traditional gameplay might be a problem for some. However, if you plan on going down to the woods today, Heart of the Forest is an adventure well worth taking.

Untitled Goose Game on Xbox One provides an experience unlike any other; filling your heart with joy. Despite showing it’s hand from the very start, and then doing very little else, it’s a ridiculous, hilarious and utterly charming little game.

If you've fallen in love with previous 2D scrolling strategy games, this is certainly going to appeal. And if you haven't, Monarchy is as good a place to start as any. At least in the short term…

Dust & Neon is a twin-stick shooter that has something about it. Pretty unique with how it goes about things, the tease of a new upgrade, another notch on a skill tree, or a weapon to best all others, will see you tempted back to this one over and over again.

King Arthur: Legion IX is an accomplished tactical turn based game that is hamstrung in the early days by keeping things secret. Get to grips with what is on offer though, and you’ll find a great narrative, some well worked action and an absolute host of content.

Chernobylite mixes a whole load of gaming styles but still manages to come up with something very unique and challenging. It’s a game in which you can invest a bunch of hours, especially in the resource management stuff, but is neatly complemented by a cracking story and some great visuals.

Put on your toque blanche (that’s a white chefs hat), maybe grab a bottle of wine and begin your culinary journey across the States in Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! today. It’s bigger, better, slightly pricier, and absolutely worth the stress.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a game that has something for everyone. Some may love the story, others perhaps the combat. A few people may just want to explore the world and put the difficulty on easy. Each element of the game is done well enough to create an all round very good game.
